Just done watching SimonFordman and now this!! Love YT’s algorithm great video BTW
Awesome! Im so glad the algorithm is recommending some of my videos! Thank you so much for the comment and support!
It did the same for me lol
Sometimes the algorithm does good work 😆
I love watching you work, Dude! The little Ranger could use a good detailing.. Maybe next time? Please keep making these videos. I find them both educational and entertaining.
Thanks so much for your support! More to come soon! I am hoping to repaint in the next episode, and then will definitely be doing an interior detail at some point!
I couldn’t wait for part 2 for this Ranger. I really like the asmr approach. It’s really relaxing to be honest. Thanks to you, this old rig has a lot of life left in her.
Awesome! I am glad you are enjoying the asmr type videos! More to come soon! Hoping to have this ranger looking brand new by the end of the month!
From Russia with love!
Thank you for your support from russia!!🇷🇺
Greetings from Mexico, the ranger is a well beloved truck for work and off road shenanigans in here, its great seeing someone taking the time to fix it the proper way
awesome!! Glad to hear it is a work horse in mexico as well! They are great trucks and deserve the love!
It is so good to see how the Florida man works, I'm from Brazil
Thank you so much for your support from brazil! 🇧🇷 I would love to visit brazil sometime !
Muito Rangers no Brasil.
I heard that they are popular there! That is awesome
Love the Ranger content. Keep it coming!
Thank you so much for your support!! More to come soon!
Greetings from the cold version of Florida, New Jersey. You said you didn’t want to get too detailed with this truck and just keep it as a work truck. You’ve done so much to it now, you’re going to want to paint it. 😂 I knew it 10 minutes into this video!
Thank you for your support from New Jersey! You are absolutely right it is a slippery slope and I am currently in the process of prepping for paint as we speak😆😆
i'm thinking of buying a Ranger XL 1994 here in Brazil. Your videos is helping me a lot :)
Awesome! I am glad that they are helping you out some! Thank you for your support!
34:29 😂
Really enjoying these Ranger videos. I watch while doing chores and it gives me a general idea what to look at or work on without watching a longer video on each problem first. Maybe you will have some other vehicles from this era to work on in the future.
😆
Awesome! I am glad you are enjoying the videos! More to come soon!
I will definitely always have some sort of project to work on! 😃
Can't wait for your next vid bro! And i like to see your clean garage, goodjob 👍👍
Thank you for your support!! More to come soon!
Great video! I had a ‘95 in HS. Lots of good memories in that truck. Your work is top notch. Thanks for posting.
Thank you for your support!! It's awesome to hear these trucks bring back good memories! More to come soon!
I have a 2002 ford ranger xlt.i love this truck will never sell it
Such great trucks! I hope to have this one for a long time to come!
Watching from Finland. Great job on the truck. If I were you, I would cut the grill and put some wire mesh In it. Also paint all the Chrome In the front and back To satin Black and the whole truck as sand. That would be awesome. Btw i love the wheels and tires
Thank you for your support from finland! 🇫🇮 would definitely like to black out the chrome in the future! More to come soon!
I really like watching you work on the Ford ranger. I started following you after seeing your part 1 of this series. Hope you are planning to do a paint job (after seeing your paint booth) somewhere in the future! 😅 From Netherlands!
Thank you so much for your support from the netherlands!🇳🇱 the next video will definitely be a paint job! Hopefully it comes out okay!
I’m from Hawaii love these videos
Thank you for your support from Hawaii! Would love to visit there sometime, but the long flight is a bit anxiety provoking for me 😅
Really enjoying the Ranger project, watching from your neighboring state,GA
Thank you so much for your support from Georgia! More to come soon!
Good content👍 Super jealous of almost rust free cars like that, here in Finland we have extreme winters and salted roads, car rust so fast you can hear them crackling.
It is so crazy how fast that salt destroys cars! One of the reasons i like florida is no snow and no salt! Thank you for your support from finland!
Awesome job man... you are a really good mechanic... I'm sure you can do anything automotive related..👍👍
Thank you so much for the kind words! I learn a lot every time i do a project like this! 😃
Love the ranger series. That shop floor has to be really nice to work on. I’m from up in Michigan just outside of Flint in a city called Burton!
Thanks so much for your support from Michigan! Must be quite chilly up there at the moment 🥶
The floor is very nice to work on!
@@FLManGarage For sure has been a bit cold up here. Consistently below freezing! Got about 3” of snow last night had to shovel the ole’ driveway this morning! Wish I lived in FL. I have some family in the Cape Coral/SW FL area.
Shoveling snow sounds miserable! Cape coral is a beautiful area!!
Hi I'm Thomas from Greece, nice video!
Thank you for your support from greece! 🇬🇷
Awesome shop. The attention to detail is good to watch for my ocd. Putting marks on the nuts and bolts is very good to see. You by far is very much fun to watch. You have a truck that will last for many years to come. Awesome job. I am from mississippi.
Thanks for your support from Mississippi! I really appreciate it! I may have a touch of ocd myself 😆 more to come soon! This truck will last for many more decades to come!
I love the detail of the work you're doing, also think you made a good choice on wheels and rims......🔥🔥🔥❤️💯👍🏽
Thanks so much for your support!! Much more to come soon!
Awesome! My first vehicle was a 94 ranger.
Nice!! I wonder if it is still driving around somewhere to this day!
I'm thinking about doing asmr tutorials on my car. You and SimonFordman def inspire me to want to do this
Do it! It is challenging but fun learning how to film and edit everything! But you can do it!
You work is great man, i love to watch the way you do the repairs.
Thank you so much for your support! Much more to come soon!
I love watching this! Ranger is my favorite truck. I think you should do the leveling kit for looks and so that way you won't rub as bad. Keep making these brother! God Bless!
Thank you so much for your comment and support! Already have the leveling kit ordered and then going to start on paint prep! God bless!!
Love your content, watching from Chile 🇨🇱, i love the ranger, specially the king cab, i would love a yellow one, very 90s
Thanks so much for your support from chile! 🇨🇱 yes! A yellow one has such 90s vibes!!
I'm from Brazil.. you are doing a amazing job congrats!! we have a lot of 90's Rangers still running down here!! Running on gas, on natural gas, even running on straight e100 ethanol!!
Wow that is amazing to have them run on so many different fuels!! Thank you for your comment and support from brazil! 🇧🇷
Good job, from Nairobi Kenya 🇰🇪
Thank you so much for your support from kenya! 🇰🇪
Your garage is cleaner than my living room! LOL. Says a lot about both of us (and I'm not proud on my end). Nice project. Blessed new year to you!
Lol! Its hard for me to work on projects if it gets too messy and unorganized, perhaps a touch of ocd 😆
Have a blessed year and thanks for your comment and support!
Great job, keep improving that truck!
Thanks so much for the support! More coming soon!
The Ranger!! So excited to see it coming back to life - please tell me if you repaint it you'll keep the original color!!!
Thanks for the support! Yes! Absolutely will be keeping the original color! I think it will look great!!
Great project! Great video! Thank you! Monte in southwest Florida

That Ranger is coming a long really good... Been following the series and sub'd today!
Thank you so much for the sub! More to come soon!!
Where do you get your parts?
Most of my parts are from rockauto. If its paint/rust products, its through eastwood 😃
Really enjoyed the video. Would love to see you give it a fresh paint job next!
I am glad you enjoyed it! will be attempting the paint job soon! hopefully it comes out decent!

Awesome! Thank you for your support from madrid! Another place on my wifes travel bucket list 😃
Wao !
Amazing.
Great job.🎉
Thank you so much for your comment and support!!
Great video! Definitely be careful using that 1/2 inch impact on small bolts like the ones on your diff cover. Snapped bolts happen easier than you think! I'm looking forward to your next video!
Thank you so much! You are absolutely right! I get impatient sometimes for sure! Those could have easily snapped
Nice job on the Ranger. I like your shop, you got it all.
Thank you so much! I just recently remodeled my shop and it has been great so far! Just wish I had a car lift!
Great work! Keep it that way and maybe a good detailing in the future
Greetings from Germany!
Thanks so much! I think the next episode will be repainting the exterior, if that goes smoothly, I will also do a detail of the interior. If its not the next episode, it will be soon! Thank you for your support from germany!
Love your work ethics, just get it done without any fuss and only with the finest tools I see! Beard is getting big. You look more like a woodsman than a Florida Man.

Welcome to the channel! My wife has always wanted to visit Sweden, thank you for the support!
I got myself a MAP gas torch those old ball joints and stuck bolts and nuts come right out now :-)
I definitely need to invest in map gas next!!
Really nice work. I did my tie rods on the 94 ranger and ended up going in for a wheel alignment. How is it working for you, measuring the lengths? Are you going to check the rear axle seals for leakage? I had to replace the seals. Good job using the yellow pen to mark your work. This video brought back a lot of memories! The only issue I did not like on the ranger was the hydraulic clutch, it always leaked. Anyway, good job!!!!
Thanks so much for your comment and support! I got an alignment done on the truck, i was just measuring to get it close enough to go to alignment shop!
The rear axle seals are not currently leaking, but it might be a good preventative maintenance thing to do next! My clutch is not leaking at the moment, so hopefully it stays good! Will eventually be replacing the entire clutch system at some point!
love these videos

Absolutely a treasure to watch!
May I suggest a low-profile roller to more easily access the underside?
Thank you so much! I have one, but i am usually too lazy to use it, i think i use it once or twice in this video 😄
I wish i had a car lift! That would be awesome!
Thanks for your comment!
Well done sir
Thank you for your support!!
I had an 85 Ranger, one of my kids had a 90, and one kid had a 94 in Mazda disguise. All were solid and tough. But on all 3 the worst engineering was the engine itself, or more specifically, the problems caused by the emissions control system.
Awesome!!
Luckily, i havent come across any apparent issues with the emission system yet, but if i do, i will remove it if it helps the engine. Florida has no emissions laws
must feel amazing to drive now
I just need to get an alignment, but it is so much better now!!
I just found your channel. Great stuff! I’d love to find an old Ranger to work on. Someday. I’m in the video business so if you need any advice let me know. If I find a Ranger I’ll have questions for you. Watching from Milwaukee.
Thanks for checking out the channel! I currently use a canon rebel sl2, it does a decent job, but I would definitely like to upgrade at some point in the future without spending a ton of money!
Yes! let me know if you have any questions!
Thank you for your support!
So when torquing the suspension bolts, should you hold off until there's weight on the suspension? Another '94 owner here with a 2.3L instead of your V6...
The radius arm bushing bolt and the lower shock nut should be torqued at ride height, i used a jack under the control arm to emulate ride height when torquing those nuts. The rest are ball joints and can be torqued at any position as they allow movement in all directions!
Thank you for your view and comment!
I used to have a 2.3 and i actually liked it better than the v6!
No rubbing with tires that size on the front?
No rubbing from the little bit of driving i did, (not aligned yet) the previous owner of the tires said they did rub at full lock for him. But with the leveling kit i am about to put on, it should be all good!
What rims and tires are these looking good
They are 31” tall tires, and they wheels are just widened steelies it looks like! Not entirely sure, i just found them on fb marketplace!
When the vapor came out of the vents, did it give off a swampy smell?
No, it smelled more like just hot coolant, kinda if youve ever smelt an overheating engine
@FLManGarage That makes sense. I haven't finished the video yet, but I saw you trying WD on the seat belt. You may already know, but for other's sake, WD40 as a short term lube will attract dust and grit. Basically becoming sandpaper. 3 in 1 or similar is a better long term solution.
I actually used wd 40 dry silicone lubricant , probably hard to see in the video, but i will definitely check out some other products when i pull it apart more! Thanks for the suggestion!!
Hi! I have a 93 Explorer with wobbly steering. Can you please advise how much you spent on parts and maybe how many hours you put into the suspension/steering part of the upgrade?
To replace the entire front steering system it would cost around $300-$400 in parts and would take probably 3-4 hours.
You are quick man! Thanks
No problem! Thank you for your view and comment!
I'm truly impressed with the details and skills you have put into this work on this ranger. For the front suspension, you can use either skyjacker 2" coils or 1 1/2" to 2" coul spacers. What type of transmission fluid did you use? These older ford 5spd transmissions are picky with its fluid. A good radiator upgrade for future is a 2 row for a 92-94 explorer. Get one for a 93 explorer, you will need a 2 row radiator fan shroud from an explorer. Fund those at wrecking yards. I have that set up in my 94 3.0..had it that way for years. Is there any work for the rear suspension? For anykind of aftermarket intake , please dont. Stay with the oem air intake. These older fords only do best with its oem system. Run a motorcraft or wix filters, this engine and truck will thank you for it. I use motorcraft filters on my ranger. For exhaust unless you like the glass pack sounds, dont do it. These 3.0 engines sounds horrible 😫. I have used flowmaster on my 3.0 5spd ranger since 1998. It had 50 series deltaflow with 2.25 piping. Then, the original 40 for 20 years with 2.5 piping..currently for 3 years super 44..my favorite. All systems have been single in single out. I would suggest the deltaflow 40 or super 44...piping size could be your preference. It will do good with either size. I do recommend these two mufflers.
Thank you so much for your view and comment! I found a good deal on 1.5" coils, so hopefully that is enough!
I used valvoline ATF, it has the mazda transmission and everything I read said that ATF is spec, it definitely had ATF in it already!
Thanks for the info on the radiator, will be replacing that in the future as well!
I will be replacing the rear shocks in a later video, the leaf springs look to be in good shape still. I will definitely be keeping the oem air intake and I already put in a wix air and oil filter!
Thank you so much for the exhaust recommendations as well, I really dont want this truck to be loud, I am wanting a very quiet, smooth truck!
Thanks again for your comment and support!
Since you have valvoline in the transmission and axle, I would definitely use it it the engine also. Just to keep it all the same brand. Those 1.5" coil spacers should be enough. Those two series Flowmasters are good for overall sound. Nice and quiet for interior, yet gives it a good sound on the exterior. You can also go with the 50 series deltaflow. The 89-94 dash is my favorite... loved it when I first saw it 1989. What color are going with for the truck?
Awesome! i will definitely be looking into those mufflers, I want to keep it the OEM color, I really like that color when it is clean and shiny
@FLManGarage These exhaust mufflers for the ranger are offset in and center out. My experience is go with offset in and offset out. It will sound better..experience I've learned. Cayman green is a great color. My ranger is the same, it's been used as a truck lots of times, yet I have kept it clean and shiny through the years.
Did you do headers as well or stock exhaust manifolds? And did you keep the catalytic converter?
I cant wait to have this truck shine again! But also want to keep it a work truck and not worry about scratches and dents
I've been looking for a Ranger for years ! With a 2.3l and automatic ( I can drive a std just fine but I hate it ). Down here in Floridah the prices are soooo high it's ridiculous!
It can definitely be hard to find a good one at a decent price! I understand not wanting to drive standard, it can get very annoying quickly!
what did you use on the diff plug? A sealant of some kind ?
Yes, i used gasoila, its basically a liquid form of teflon tape, it works great!
Hi! I'm Nick, from Romania, an european country near the Black Sea. Do you think those were bad design on your Ford? I had a 2007 Ford C-Max. Just to change a lightbulb from a headlight, you need a torx and a screw driver so you can take the headlight out. And it is worst in the back, where you need to take the back light out and unscrew the socket of the lightbulbs...
wow! that is crazy! what were those engineers thinking?! IT seems to get worse in the newer vehicles!
Thank you so much for your support from Romania!
I have a question, for when you paint. Do you use primer, or something? Also, regarding the bushings, did you tourque then loaded or unloaded ? It can lead to premature wear / failure if not done correctly. Otherwise, i have enjoyed the Ranger videoes
Thanks for your comment! When i paint parts, no primer is needed when using the eastwood products that i use. They are designed to go over bare metal and/or rust! I have been using them long before they became a partner.

Hi. I'm from Brazil!
Thanks for watching from Brazil!! Would love to visit Brazil one day!
What are you using for flooring in your garage? Looks neat
I used nitro floor tiles from flooringinc.com. They are about $1.50/sqft. They are super easy to install and look great. The only issue i have with them is they create a lot of static electricity and i get shocked touching metal objects in the garage quite often 😆
glass packs and a cold air intake woukd be a nice lil sum sum 👀
That might be in a future episode! Thanks for your comment and support!
Thanks for a great video! The new tires look cool but how is the steering and ride quality after the swap? Cheers from Denmark!
Thank you for your support from denmark! I still need to have an alignment done, but just the little driving around the neighborhood, it feels great!
Are you thinking in paint the truck too? or is not necessary your plan?
Yes! The next episode will be on painting the truck 😃
I'm from this weird little country named Florida. I believe you've heard of it? LOL
I'm in a little town kind of between Gainesville and Jacksonville.
I sure have! I am in a city between gainesville and orlando 😃
I'm from central Indiana. Can't find a place to get that quality of work dane.
Oh no! It can definitely be hard to find a decent shop!
how about replacing all incandescent lights with LED lights?
Thanks for the suggestion ! I will have to look into that, i know in the past, sometimes the led lights interfere with the turn signal flasher and cause quick flashing, so i will have to check on that!
@@FLManGarage If your truck is old enough to have a turn signal flasher, replacing the stock flasher with an electronic RC timed flasher will do the trick. If not, yes you would need load resistors to get rid of the hyperflash. The easy way to test is simply remove one turn signal bulb - if it flashed fast, you have the new setup. If it flashes twice as slow or not flash at all, you have the old flasher. In any event just replacing the headlights would be a great benefit.
Yes! I will have to look into it, thanks for the info!
i thought steering and suspension get tourqued at ride height
I put the tire on, jacked up the radius arm till the tire was at ride height and then torqued the components that have bushings, radius arm bushing and shock mount. Other items like tie rods and ball joints can move in all directions and dont need to be torqued at ride height!
Thanks for your view and comment!
@@FLManGarage okay thx

Why is the color of transmission fluid is RED? You Ranger has mechanical gearbox, maybe some GL4 75W90 would be suitible?
This year ford ranger uses the mazda m5r1 and mercon v atf is manufacturer spec fluid 😃
@@FLManGarage And you tell that most weird thing in your Fors is brake lines? :-))))
Lol! Many weird things with this half ford half mazda, but the brake lines were very frustrating 😆
You should TOTALLY paint it
Prepping for paint now!! 😃
