I have celiac disease and when I eat gluten I’m exhausted. The chronic fatigue is unbearable along with depression, anxiety, and brain fog. Green tea, ginger, etc. does nothing for me. I’m poor so eating gluten free is almost impossible. I love bread and pasta and gluten free is so gross.
I'm so glutened right now. Feel like I'm dying. I thought I could eat the gravy on Christmas eve and a bit of stuffing. I literally almost died from severe diarrhea, nausea, vomited once, stomach pain, headache and chills for some reason even though i dont have a fever.....let me tell you my friends! Never again. I hadn't eat that amount in years. Gluten intolerant here. Thank you for the video and support.
Gave into a breadroll craving on holiday and lost a whole day, it's like slipping into a comatosis state that's scary 😨 not just a tummy bug, the small intestines gut and brain connection really take the toll.
It's like you're journaling my gluten poisoning experiences. This is SPOT ON according to my reality. I too am a Coeliac. Well done. Many don't realise this is a MEDICAL CONDITION and that gluten for a Coeliacs causes physical damage to our intestines that is linked to potential long term harm. I am grateful for the awareness this raises. 🙏
Hi, diagnosed in 2018 at age 40! I was glutened at a restraunt...christmas/birthday dinner. I chose only from their GF Menu. Advised them it was a disease with severe consequences. I appreciate this video and the one on traveling. I love to travel. CAUTION GRAPHICSorry about graphics here...My MD called it full evacuation top/bottom, uncontrolled, litterally pouring sweat, lasts between 1-2 hrs. I appreciate the tips and assurance Im not alone.
I’ve just recently found your videos and I’ve learned MORE from your videos than the 5 different gastro drs I’ve been to over the last 10 years! I’ve had the bloating (where I thought my insides were going to explode), the gas, the severe cramping (felt like someone was ripping my insides out while I was on the toilet), the brain fog (had some awful days at work after lunch many times)…was given results of blood testing in 1988, told to avoid beef, dairy, a long list of beans and gluten. Back then I didn’t know what gluten was, knew I hadn’t picked it up at a store (like a protein bar) dr never said what it was, dietician that gave me a week of menus had no idea as she listed toast, rolls, MILK….2014 gastro dr did endoscopy and I printed out the paperwork….he wrote Celiac Sprune found…& never said a word to me about it. I found the 1988 report this year while cleaning out files…now eating gf….thanks to your videos I’ve learned even more about cross contam. You are a blessing for me…I’m doing much better, still have issues but they are fewer now. So thank you for posting!
I have full on Celiac Disease. My daughter has it, and my grand-daughter. I get so violently ill, and you are right, it isn't pretty. My body goes on full purge mode and the pain is so bad I can't even cry. My eyesight goes dim. I'm freezing cold but I'm sweating gallons. So weak during and afterwards. Once it's over with, 18hrs. later, all I can do is cry. Please don't think I'm a baby. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.
Sorry speaking from a restaurant worker’s perspective this is a HUGE difference. We ask for a reason. It changes kitchen procedures and affects what we serve you. For example at my work, there are a few dishes that are gluten free but go through the same fryer as item with gluten. Gluten preference people can have those dishes, severe gluten allergy cannot. Also if it is an allergy, not a preference, extra cleaning precautions are taken before prepping food so as to prevent cross contamination. This takes a lot more time in the kitchen and can be avoided for someone who “just prefers gluten free.”
@@MaddieSC52 how does it ruin for everybody, this is dumb response. If someone says no gluten it means no gluten. I'm vegan and say no dairy and I hate why people question me and I now have a dairy intolerance so when I say no dairy i mean no dairy. It shouldn't get questioned and it most certainly does not ruin it for everyone else that's a dumb thing to say
@@broadwaygodess630 What worries me is that Celiac is NOT an allergy. So what do we say? Will restaurant workers know that an autoimmune disorder is just as dangerous as an allergy?
I got glutened from drinking some broth that had noodles in it. It’s day two and it feels like it’s getting worse. My first gluten attack was from my ex mother in law who gave me a “gluten free muffin” - that put me in the hospital and then the doctors didn’t believe me when I told them I’m celiac because I was in so much pain. They took out my appendix. It was never my appendix but I was too weak to find an advocate. The second time my mom poisoned me on purpose to see if I was actually celiac. Yes I definitely am! Now this is the third time in 6 years and it’s almost unbearable. The cramping and pain and diarrhea is constant. My joints and body hurts. I’m trying Imodium now and I’m not sure what else would help take away this intense intestinal pain. What makes it challenging is that no one understands the pain.
i think my dad might do what your mom did. that’s why i never eat anything he makes. he makes things in the air fryer and says if it’s clean it’s fine then gets mad that won’t eat it
I feel you so much. It’s a week after my exposure and I am so weak. I had a ruptured ovarian cyst a few days before that bled. So I lost blood, got glutened a few days after, then my period started a couple days after that… all in a week and I have been having diarrhea, chills, weakness and fatigue, constant nausea. I want to cry but afraid of losing more electrolytes. It all sucks!!!!
Robyn, thank you so much for all your videos. Your selflessness and genuine care for the celiac community is apparent! I was recently diagnosed and have no idea what I would’ve done without your label reading video. My $70 dietician appointment was 1000x LESS helpful than your free videos. I can’t thank you enough!
I did 4 weeks gluten challenge & tested negative celiac. My doctor said though he can’t prove with labs I have celiac it is apparent I am gluten sensitive. Now in 2nd week trying to rid belly of gluten. Seems more belly issues these 2 weeks without gluten than prior 4 weeks with gluten. Can I speed up deglutenizing 😢
You know you're celiac when... You hear Robyn's introduction on "Full-on Glutened" and you gag and groan the whole way through and wonder if you are gonna vomit. 😅
Hey Jay! It can definitely be a tough transition; hope my videos help. Let me know if there's anything I haven't covered yet that you'd like me to discuss. Thanks so much for watching and reaching out. 😊🙏
@@robynsglutenfreeliving Aw! You've Cover Pretty much Everything!!! I'm following Strict Gluten free diet But I'm also become a Lactose intoleranced, that's why I've to cut the dairy form my diet as well, which is sooooo terrible because I'm Habbitted to have tea in the morning & evening! But I've found the substitute for that 'lactose Free Milk', Well for me The Celiac Is Sooo Sooo Terrible I've Had a Horrible 6 Years Suffering For This Shit! Changing Doctors & took Medication which were completely ineffective at all!!! Hope I'll Heal Sooner! My Celiac symptoms are Severe Weight Loss, Acid Reflux, Extreme Gas, Burping Almost all the time, Diarrhea & Constipation, Unhappiness, Difficulty To speak, Brain fog, Muscles aches Etc.. BUT I'm So Stronger I knew that one day everything will be alright sooner! I knew that my body will heal and it will be! MY BODY HAS STARTED TO HEALING! THANK YOU! THANK YOU TO ALL WHO SHARE AWARENESS OF THIS UNDERDIAGNOSED CELIAC DISEASE!!! BLESSINGS & MORE BLESSINGS FOR YOU!
Pasta and rice are not a good thing to eat if your stomach is upset from a gluten allergy and neither are dairy products. Try almond milk , and non gluten foods like fruits or mixed nuts, or mashed potatoes, veggie soups, non gluten gravies , etc. basically stick to a vegan diet and try to avoid pastas. Im speaking from my own experience. Also i was prescribed a medication that really really helps id say do NOT just wait it out and let it go away on its own because you will just be in pain for a longer period of time. You should seek medical help if the pain is intolerable. The medicine i was prescribed is called Sucralfate. I know everyone is different but id recommend asking your doctor about this medicine and if it's right for you because it has really helped me. Goodluck and God bless you all. ❤
I was diagnosed with celiac in 2018 and made it to 2022 with no problems.... until I had a cross contam issue this past weekend. Currently on day 4 of spending quality time on the royal throne. 😭 Omg hope this doesn't last weeks!
Heads up to those diagnosed with celiac disease. Watch out for developing other diseases often associated with those who have celiac disease. A search on the subject will quickly discover over two dozen diseases which may develop in those with celiac disease. Most common are arthritis, diabetes, thyroid disease, anemia, and other gastrointestinal diseases such as Crohn's disease, irritable bowel syndrome, microscopic colitis, loss of bone density (because celiac disease prevents some absorbsion of minerals such as calcium), and certain cancers associated with the gastrointestinal tract. Be sure you have a good gastroenterologist who is very familiar with celiac disease and the chances of developing associated diseases. In the over 15 years since I was diagnosed with celiac disease, I have developed several additional associated diseases. Thankfully, my gastroenterologist is very experienced and has quickly identified and treated these diseases. I am currently in my mid-eighties and have learned to adhere to a strict gluten free diet and function mostly normally. I also take several prescription medications and dietary supplements that control the associated diseases. The bottom line is be informed, be a strong advocate for yourself, have a good gastroenterologist, and adhere to a strict gluten free diet.
Rushing to the bathroom, full on depression for days, feeling insecure, nausea, severe bloating and extreme pain. It is terrible. If I get glutened, I have green juices and eat nothing but produce and un processed meat.
I'm glutened all the time because I'm the only one in the family that is gluten free. They are all happy gluten eaters. I'm the one that does all the cooking in the house. The worst is they grab bread and leave bread crumbs everywhere. So I have to scour the kitchen Everytime I cook. I don't eat half the time because I cook for them and I'm just too tired to deal with it. If I don't meal prep I basically do not eat or do not eat correctly
Sorry to hear & sounds as if you have it tough! Hope you gain strength to teach/train your monkeys what is expected, after all they wouldnt let an Axe wielding maniac into the house to 'play' with you, would they?
YOU are in charge of your kitchen. Gluten free food for everybody. If they want gluten they can go to McDonalds by themselves. 99% of food is GF...just our favorites are wheat. NO GLUTEN IN THE HOUSE. How dare they poison the cook!!!! Is there something your family doesn't like to eat? Cook if for them. Turn about is fair play. They'll get it quickly. Acetaminophen helps pain for me. I let it dissolve under my tongue to get it fastest in my system. Would you just casually spread arsenic on your counters for your kids and hubby to get on their hands? Probably not. NO NO NO NO GLUTEN in your house AT ALLLLLL. )))))
Just two days ago I had what they told me was a “gluten free” pizza, that miraculously tasted just the same as regular pizza. A couple of hours later I was burping all over my friend’s place, devastated with nausea and dizziness. In my case the pain goes straight to m legs, and I wasn’t feeling that bad sensation for over a year now, after I found out I’m celiac. Awful
Remember that often they will cook the pizza in the same oven and it inevitably comes into contact with the flour at the bottom of the oven. Been there, done that. Just another item off the list for me 😢
@@andrewmcwilliam1764This happened to me 6 weeks ago after successfully avoiding gluten for 14 years. I’m still suffering, I believe because of my advanced age.
Thank you so much! There’s zero content about this important topic in Spanish by the way! This video might be useful to so many people. Please consider uploading a copy with title and subtitles in Spanish 😊❤
I bought the gluten ease enzymes and l glutamine. I found these on some gluten Reddit rabbit hole and I feel like they help when I get glutened feel better faster
I have Celiac and this is so true! One time I accidentally ate 2 peices of the wrong bread......... let's just say it did not end well. This lines up with the information I knew before watching this video and helps a bunch!!!!
Recently i found out that I am allergic to gluten, had all the symptoms, joint pain, anxiety, brain fog, stabbing pain whenever i consume it, throwing up and everything!!! And I've managed to get rid of it for the past couple of weeks. Yesterday i had a KitKat bar even though i knew it was going to be bad. I threw up several times, got bloated and i was sitting on the floor wishing i didn't eat it at all... 😢😢😢
Ugh I’ve had 4 major accidental gluten digestion’s in the 13 yrs of being diagnosed- 3 of the 4 ended up in immediate hospitalization for a few days.. I have a wheat allergy on top of celiac disease. I’m visiting friends and they got a gluten free pizza for me the other night that I’ve never tried and turns out it is one where they use wheat starch but “rinse” the gluten out. 🤦🏼♀️😭 It’s been actual torture with the works non stop 🤮 🤮🤢 and horrid gut pain- it sucks so bad. I’m pumping probiotics, electrolytes, ice, and anti nausea meds like it’s water. I usually can’t eat normal for weeks after.. a modified BRAT diet is only what helps me until it’s out of my digestive track. 🥺
The best advice I was given is to take charcoal! This is really amazing of how quickly I recovered! And always have it after I feel sick just in case. It really works and better than pro-biotics 👍🏼
Wow! Thanks for the tip! Charcoal is a total game changer, took it one day, got better the next day (considering I took l-glutamine, probiotics and enzymes and they didn't work)
Not me literally watching my stomach turned into a beach ball while listening to your helpful advice. OK yeah. It’s totally me lol trying to stay upbeat even though I’m really bummed out that I thought was gluten-free turns out to be.
I have celiac but I don’t experience symptoms. I try to avoid cross contamination as much as I can because it can still cause health problems down the line.
Man. Silent Celiac Sucks. Cross contamination for me may or may not cause a tummy ache. Will cause brain fog and gluten psychosis. I can't imagine what it is like having no symptoms at all. Silent celiacs are the real MVPs.
Currently glutened despite 12 years experience and 3 years experience for my partner. The last bag of gluten free hamburger buns at the store... apparently wasn't. And i didn't double check. Ugggghhhhhhh.
Diagnosed celiac for 2 yrs - yet to be outright glutened as far as I'm aware but wondering if others suffer from this during a severe cross contam: mild nausea but more like zero appetite for days at a time. 24 hours will pass and I can't believe I haven't eaten and still have no desire to. I force something down but it's never enjoyable. Most success came from a plain, lightly salted steak. I felt reasonably good afterwards and no nausea.
Thought I'd mention my number one symptom and what I would consider to be my body's primary alarm bell...THE RASH (dermatitis herpetiformis). After cross contam my shoulders, upper arms back and chest feel as though I've been bathing in fibreglass splinters. This horrible rash comes up and can stick around for a while (sometimes two weeks from a single incident). Has helped me to identify unsafe foods though.
I put my son who has high functioning autism on a dairy gluten free diet when he was 18 and it changed his behavior. I can tell if he has gluten because he can not pay attention, the brain fog I guess. I have been doing the diet also and feel my emotions level out.
Very helpful! New to having this disease and gluten free for 4 months. Just got glutened through cross contamination over the weekend. I pray this doesn’t last two weeks 🙁
Hi Chris! I'm glad the video helped, and sorry to hear you got glutened. It definitely sucks, but happens to all of us! I don't find that the symptoms afterward normally last that long. For me, it's usually just a few days when I get cross contamination. Sometimes it can take a bit longer to feel completely healed though after a bad glutening. I hope it wasn't too bad for you! 😊
I abbreviate cross-contamination to “x-contam” all the time. A coworker almost glutened me last night (it was her birthday and she ordered Papa John’s Pizza. She offered me some “GF” vegetarian pizza, but I wasn’t familiar with how Papa John’s staff prepped the pizza, so I took the pizza and threw it in the garbage when I arrived home from work. I took a safe food handler course last weekend and learned about the dangers of leaving protein rich foods at room temperature for more than 2 hours. The pizza in question sat out for about 3 hours, so I decided to chuck the food in the trash. It’s bad enough when I get glutened; I don’t want food poisoning on top of the glutening.
Oh my gosh! I'm sorry to hear about that, but I'm glad you avoided a potential gluten-ing (and potential food poisoning?! That would not have been pretty! 😱). It can definitely be an awkward situation when someone gives you food thinking that it's safe because it's "gluten-free"-I wish food that is advertised as gluten-free was actually always safe to eat. 😢 A girl can dream!
I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice. Talk to your doctor before taking anything that has worked for me. After being glutened, the only thing that temporarily works for me is Gas X. I take care not to overdose on it. But it usually can get me from the restaurant to my toilet. One pill seems to work for about 15 minutes. The maximum dose (4 pills) works for an hour. Once the worst is over, my joints and muscles are stiff and sore for about 90 days. I hobble around like I'm 150 years old. I have found that Naproxen helps me. I also become lactose intolerant for 90 days after being badly glutened. Lactaid pills really help me.
After being sick at least twice or three times a month I finally learned i have a gluten intolerance 🥲 gluten has been my main food group foreverrr I thought i just ate alot because after just about every meal i feel so nauseous and full and stupid jeans to be e teenager with a gluten intolerance i feel is worse 😭
Thanks alot for your feed.My daughter has been diagnosed with cd and .She is 16 . We are still new to all of this.I thought because she was exposed to gluten by mistake yesterday that her villie has been destroyed.
Glad you found it helpful! 😊 I hope your daughter is doing okay with her transition to gluten-free. Any exposure to gluten can unfortunately potentially cause damage, but it happens to all of us at one time or another. Thanks for your comment. 🙏
You should do a video on how getting glutened can differ between men and women. Maybe it's just an individual thing, but it would be interested to know. After diagnosis, I had some gyros meat from a local store not knowing it had wheat in it. Another time I ate some Milky Way minis, forgetting they had barley malt in it. My duodenum was not happy.
I freak out and get angry. Then the pain hits the next day, like a delayed reaction for me, mega symptoms. I also have endometriosis, which gluten flares up, and the gluten dermatitis.
Thank you for this video!!! I feel like I'm going to die. I've had all these severe symptoms for over twenty years. In fact all my life I've had severe gut & bowel issues & I'm 70. The main episodes were 10 years ago with pizza which i also ate tons of when I was a kid. I attributed it just to the cheese/dairy. I've known about my dairy allergy because now it turns into anaphylaxis type symptoms with labels that say "May contain traces of milk". I am very careful about avoiding anything with milk yet my gut symptoms have gotten worse at times. Excessive & painful gas, diarrhea, needing to vomit & it's so painful. I eat toast everyday. I just noticed whenever I eat wheat products especially when wheat gluten is added for whatever reason the pain starts within an hour & I have to be near a toilet for hours. Now... I think my guts are too damaged to repair themselves. At least I made it to 70. Well wishes ❤
The last time I was glutened (pre-pandemic) I ate at a Thai food restaurant which are normally pretty good for gf. I had a big bowl of delicious soup, my partner and I drove to a mall afterwards and about 90-120 minutes after, I had to run to the mall washroom several times until I felt I would make the drive home, not ideal. In retrospect, I feel the server didn’t care or didn’t truly understand or both. Now, I stick to places that understand and have good gluten free standards and I always do the double checking when I get my order by saying, so this is gluten free? Buns that taste too good are always suspicious! Luckily, there are so many better choices than there were 20 years ago!
Hey Laura! Sorry that happened... it's so frustrating when things like this happen at places that you think you can trust. 😞 And totally-I can't stress enough how important the "always double check" thing is. I've definitely saved myself from eating a full-on-gluten meal on several occasions. 😱 I'm very thankful that there are more and more options though! Thanks for sharing! 🙏
my wife is a Coeliac and she has just been glutened by a take away Pizza which was supposed to be Gluten free , we have bought from that outlet before and its been fine , she was in a terrible state she was sitting on the toilet holding a bucket in front of her it was coming out both ends i felt so helpless hearing her being sick this went on for hours , she is still feeling bad 3 days later , we are now going to the pharmacy to see if their is some thing to settle her stomach ,
Does anyone have any tips on how to not eat anything, that has gluten in it? It’s been really hard for me since diagnosed in 2018. I wasn’t even diagnosed with intolerance my stomach doesn’t like it. My doctor could not figure out what was up. I try not to eat it but it’s hard.
I haven't been glutened or cross-contam yet, but before I was diagnosed, I would always feel bloated and burping (from the attic and basement 😉) after I ate something that has gluten. Did the nausea and/ or vomiting happen before you were diagnosed or after?
I’m gluten intolerant and I get glutened every couple weeks lol it happens most of the time whenever I eat outside so I avoid eating out as much as I can. I can tell right away if I’ve eaten gluten. In about half an hour I’ll start to feel brain fog and migraine/pressure in my head and it lasts a full day. Sometimes it gets really bad that I have to throw up what I just ate. I’m so sensitive to it that I have to avoid foods that says “May Contain: WHEAT” so I always have to read the labels before I buy food at the grocery store
Am trying to figure out why my guts react so horribly and painfully after eating a cheeseburger and fries and a slice of gas station pizza....thought I was passing a stone but then the pain spread to the other side, then my entire lower back, I basically stay constipated all the time. Thought it was my normal to only go once or twice a week...I've been 10 days or more at times. First time in my life I'm trying to cut out extra sugar, the hydrogenated oils, the preservatives and pesticides, and all it took to send me to hell was a couple of white bread products. I only keep wheat bread at home now, and multi-grain. Cut the amount down too, by half usually, and am generally feeling much better. Beware the white devil.
when i get glutened it usually starts during the night when i sleep, i wake up often during the night with a strange feeling. i get like stabbing in my stomach or electricity, and then the burps that smell like vomit start, which is what i hate the most probably. sometimes the burps start earlier so when they do, i know whats about to happen and take a stomach pill in advance. afterwards its usually diarrhea that feels more like water, and as soon as i return to bed from the bathroom i already have to go again - this lingers for a while until i start to come back to bed fall asleep from the exhaustion for around 10-15 minutes until the bathroom call wakes me up, it lasts until my body clears everything, so a lot of roundtrips to the bathroom. it can last for several hours i also throw up sometimes, not always though. when i go through this, the two things i found helpful so far are the stomach pills and turning the AC on if its a warm day. i'm also newly diagnosed, around the end of 2022.
I just got diagnosed with gluten sensitivity 6 months ago. A couple of questions for everyone here because I don't know if everyone's symptoms are the same. First, I get sharp pains (almost like electric shocks) on my legs, arms, and abdomen. Does anyone else here have those symptoms??? Second, can gluten sensitivity turn into Celiac Disease??? Last, I haven't been able to go to restaurants since I got diagnosed with this, how do you all do it if and when you go to restaurants??? Thank you.
Also not a doctor! I do have celiac. Gluten Ease pills act like a pain killer for me. Doesn't stop the damage (does it make the damage worse? Idk so look it up before trying this) ...but the pills do seem to help me feel better...even if it is placebo. Placebos can be good.
This happened to me!! I ate a pizza that was full of gluten, then soon afterwards my stomach began to bloat/hurt. I started to burp and I felt as though I was going to be sick. It was horrible. I was in the car with my brother at the time and he had to stop twice for me to vomit. When I got home, I just went to bed and slept until I felt a bit better. I hope it never happens to me again.
Fully glutened in Bali because tour guide assured me the pumpkin waffle was gluten free after checking with chef! All pain/gas happened on bike ride afterwards but started vomiting excessively, then dizzy with dehydration and collapsed. Had to go to ER for iv electrolytes because couldn't replace fluids as fast as losing them by vomiting. Worst case ever experienced in past 22 years. Cross contamination not so bad symptoms but inject insulin for food for type 1 diabetes, get severe low and then high blood sugars. Unable to treat lows quickly because malabsorption in gut prevents glucose absorption to recover. Gets scary because insulin overdose happens ( death!) if don't have correct amount of absorbed food for dose of insulin. Hence obsessional about cross contamination ( liken gluten to green kryptonite for me, as if Superwoman). Rarely eat out or sadly invited to friends' homes for meals since have diagnosis with type 1 diabetes for 55 years. Sadly far more dangerous than only coeliac because of balancing insulin dose with food eaten and more common with tyope 1 diabetes than normal population because both share similar but not the same autoimmune genes.
I am celiac and I had a pasta from Prezzo and i told them I wanted gluten free and straight after I felt severe bloating and felt bit nausea it was shit feeling , now its proven that pasta was not gluten free
Watching this with flu like symptoms 48 hours after consciously glutening myself. MY FLESH WAS WEAK. I’ll never do it again. I promise. This is god awful.
I am newly diagnosed though a biopsy and I have another issue with being glutened: if that would happen to me I would not even understand it because I have no symptoms at all and feel good when I eat gluten (I mean just as good as when I do not). So now I am afraid I will be eating gluten without knowing it and not have any control over it (because I won't notice).
Hey there! Yes, I can only imagine it would be really hard to know if you've been glutened if you have silent celiac (no clear symptoms). There's a possibility that over time, your body might start reacting, though. (I only started getting big reactions after my body had completely healed). If not, the best way forward is just to avoid it as best you can-read every label and avoid cross-contact. Best of luck with your transition to gluten-free. 💕
I know this is controversial---- but when I get glutened or cross contaminated: nothing "normal" stops my vomiting. I use to vomit for hours and cry and diarrhea. One of my best things I've found is 🍃 and heating pads
I ate store bought gluten free cake 5 days ago and still in the bathroom every half hour. Imodium only lasts 2 hours tops. Now confused, I read the label and there is a looooong list of ingredients and no idea which might have caused this. Never ever again will I buy gluten free packaged food. 😭
I'm new to all this and I'm currently waiting for a blood test, I ate a packet of crisps 3 day's ago after being on keto diet for a month and I've had a really bad stomach since, how long roughly will it last
been jumping between three cities while I finish up school, I usually only feel comfortable eating at my place with my partner, otherwise I only eat certified gf frozen dinners, I got to my place on Monday, and here I am on Friday morning in so much pain 😢 gluten sucks!
I become greedy for gluten food . I ate heaps of gluten since 2 weeks. Now m sick. I managed to stay gluten free for 4 years and healthy now I crave gluten
8 years GF and the cravings still come.......and then they go. I just imagine myself eating gluten. Full-on daydream it. The joy, even in imagination, does only stop at the tongue anyway so ay least if I am vividly day-dreaming, it's safe for me.
I was diagnosed at the age of 34. I don't have any symptoms. I just feel acidity and cough and sometimes difficulty in swallowing and feeling something is stuck in my throat. Does any one have the same symptoms. Please let me know because I follow completely gluten free diet but still sometimes feel the symptoms.
I minimize mine so much.I wasnt diagnosed ,its not that bad.I can cheat...So i am pregnant and crave dthe cookies in the food bank box...In a little bit i cant breath and i got nausea headaches. And i am so mad at myself now
A doctor prescribed me nausea medicine that is meant for cancer treatments. It works like a charm. There are still other glutened problems but at least im not nauseated.
Been very sick with diarrhea for 4 days, gas, cramps, starting to feel better. Gluten free tacos that were gluten free the first time and so good I went back. At least I think that’s where. I also ate a masala dosa that should have been gf though. It seems like it’s getting worse every time it happens. My body hates me
I have cut out gluten for a long time and felt ow so very good..but today my idiotic weak brain decided to try challah bread that I made cause someone gave me bread flour....I was like Ill gift a loaf and give the other to my parents...but I was like let me make sure it tastes as good as it looks...and its a chance to confirm I actually have gluten issues and not making it up...its been 15 minutes...i have a headache...im scared...looool
I ate a bowl of chili thinking it was our normal one, nope wrong I got the wrong one full of gluten, now I'm in so much pain my stomach is being ripped in two. And everything else that comes with it.
Diagnosed with celiac disease 15 years ago. Transitioning to gluten free was tough at first. There weren't many gluten free products available at that time and learning to be very careful to read every ingredient label was key. Over the years I have been "glutened" several times. Everyone allergic to gluten has different symptoms when ingesting gluten. My response is diarrhea which comes on shortly after being "glutened". My solution is to always carry liquid Imodium AD with me. As soon as I feel it coming on I take a dose. Sometimes it takes several doses to stop the diarrhea, but it always works. When I travel and won't be close to bathrooms, I sometimes take a dose of the Imodium AD, "just in case". Tip, the liquid Imodium AD works faster than the pills.
If you have red hair, auburn, or sandy blond hair you are most likely to have, or develop a gluten intolerance. It’s just our anecdotal genes ! Some believe that these hair colourings originate from the northern hemisphere, where Gluten grains were not found. or introduced until modern times. Humans that occupied the lands in the equator were introduced to gluteus grains a lot earlier and learned to tolerate their effects over the centuries!
@@shakeyj4523 Yes for sure. But it seems to be becoming quite prevalent that so many of us could at first eat whatever we wanted to for decades and then to be hit with this later in life.
OH no!! The WORST! Sorry to hear that. 😱 The breadcrumbs that were in that veggie burger were definitely enough to give me a terrible reaction. I've also been glutened by "wheat gluten" in fake meat (a caterer was obviously confused about the difference between vegan and gluten-free...). 😞
Glutened:
1. Rest
2. Drink water
3. Eat bland foods
4. Avoid: dairy, coffee, chocolate, alcohol, legumes, raw vegetables
5. Probiotic, l-glutamine, enzymes, activated charcoal
Thank you for the video and support.
last time I overate brownies made from GF bread I had a very severe reaction... bro I would never wish this on my worst enemy. never again
This is what happens to me too. I had a pizza pocket and spent the next 48 hours thinking I was going to die. Its like food poisoning! 😢
I'm so sorry 😔 I hope you are all well ❤❤❤
Gave into a breadroll craving on holiday and lost a whole day, it's like slipping into a comatosis state that's scary 😨 not just a tummy bug, the small intestines gut and brain connection really take the toll.
Yes , this describes it to a tee
It's like you're journaling my gluten poisoning experiences. This is SPOT ON according to my reality. I too am a Coeliac. Well done. Many don't realise this is a MEDICAL CONDITION and that gluten for a Coeliacs causes physical damage to our intestines that is linked to potential long term harm. I am grateful for the awareness this raises. 🙏
I feel it starting right now! No idea what I ate but I definitely am about to be sick. Looked this up to keep me company.
Same but I'm not diagnosed but whenever I eat instant ramen or homemade bread I feel soooo terrible like my guts are being shredded.
Currently watching this as my husband is violently ill in the bathroom after I just glutened him with what I thought were gluten free noodles 😭
Laughter, when possible, is important too. Although you didn’t say it, you caused it and I am most grateful! ❤
I hate when restaurants are like "is it a preference or an allergy?" I'm like, if I ask for gluten free just take it seriously. Ugh!!!
I’m my opinion that is a good thing… because then all the people who just prefer to be gluten free or are just intolerant ruin it for everyone.
All this to say, we ask you BECAUSE we are taking is seriously
Wow, your mom sounds like mine, and not like most.
Haven't you been tested? If you have Celiac, you can just show them your medical record.
I feel ypur pain. Its the worst when people dont belive you & they say that 'your weak' and its all made up 😔
i think my dad might do what your mom did. that’s why i never eat anything he makes. he makes things in the air fryer and says if it’s clean it’s fine then gets mad that won’t eat it
I feel you so much.
Thank you so much! I just figured out that I've celiac disease one month ago! And yes your videos are so helpful! Thank you & bless you! Stay healthy!
Love your sense of humor! I am navigating the gluten free life
Pasta and rice are not a good thing to eat if your stomach is upset from a gluten allergy and neither are dairy products.
Omg hope this doesn't last weeks!
Watching this video as I wretch my stomach contents. Thank you for keeping the mood light with your sense of humor, it helped.
I’m so sorry to hear you got glutened. 😟 I hope you’re feeling better and glad my video helped. 🙏🏻
Oh no.. that doesn't sound good, I hope your situation is better now a year later 🌼
First time glutened in 6 years of diet :') worst day of my life the pain was unbearable, i had to go to the hospital for a pain killer dose
I think I ate on-fire glass shards, with a few rusty nails sprinkled on top. How could fries betray me like this :( Curse cross-contam friers!
The best advice I was given is to take charcoal! This is really amazing of how quickly I recovered! And always have it after I feel sick just in case. It really works and better than pro-biotics 👍🏼
does charcoal only work if you take it immediately after/while its sitll like in your system? like within afew hours??
Can I ask what kind of activated charcoal you take? I never knew this.. i was glutened yesterday 😫 Thanks
@@imiikiem9303any good activated charcoal will work
I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome and get very similar symptoms so this is helpful
Yes. No appetite!
Recovering from a gluttening incident today. Great video. At least I am not the only one.
Thanks.
Cross contamination to puking is now down to 20 mins for me.
1 hour for me
Thank you for this video!!!
And totally-I can't stress enough how important the "always double check" thing is. I've definitely saved myself from eating a full-on-gluten meal on several occasions. 😱
I'm very thankful that there are more and more options though! Thanks for sharing! 🙏
my wife is a Coeliac and she has just been glutened by a take away Pizza which was supposed to be Gluten free , we have bought from that outlet before and its been fine , she was in a terrible state she was sitting on the toilet holding a bucket in front of her it was coming out both ends i felt so helpless hearing her being sick this went on for hours , she is still feeling bad 3 days later , we are now going to the pharmacy to see if their is some thing to settle her stomach ,
I really appreciate your humour on the matter. I feel so terrible right now.... I just want it to pass!
Think it will take me about a half an hour max 45 min. before throwing up. i had no clue for years.
I've been gluten thanks for the help!!!
Beware the white devil.
when i get glutened it usually starts during the night when i sleep, i wake up often during the night with a strange feeling.
i get like stabbing in my stomach or electricity, and then the burps that smell like vomit start, which is what i hate the most probably.
sometimes the burps start earlier so when they do, i know whats about to happen and take a stomach pill in advance.
afterwards its usually diarrhea that feels more like water, and as soon as i return to bed from the bathroom i already have to go again - this lingers for a while until i start to come back to bed fall asleep from the exhaustion for around 10-15 minutes until the bathroom call wakes me up, it lasts until my body clears everything, so a lot of roundtrips to the bathroom.
it can last for several hours
i also throw up sometimes, not always though.
when i go through this, the two things i found helpful so far are the stomach pills and turning the AC on if its a warm day.
i'm also newly diagnosed, around the end of 2022.
I would steer away from pasta and rice.
Cauliflower salad that’s been pre chopped and lightly heated so the cell walls are broken down is helpful.
Super helpful!
So glad you found it helpful! 😁
I take 6-10 Imodium, a few Potassium to prevent leg cramps and pray for the best!
In so much pain right now 😢.. soup.. and a muffin. Getting worse as I get older .. can't do wheat any more 😔
Fully glutened in Bali because tour guide assured me the pumpkin waffle was gluten free after checking with chef!
I take gladilin x and activated charcoal it helps within an hour or so
Soda water work for me 😊 Thank-you for sharing
Watching this with flu like symptoms 48 hours after consciously glutening myself. MY FLESH WAS WEAK. I’ll never do it again. I promise. This is god awful.
...me, too!
I'm wondering how you were able to drink the ginger ale when almost all of them contain caramel coloring. Caramel coloring contains gluten.
I ate store bought gluten free cake 5 days ago and still in the bathroom every half hour. Imodium only lasts 2 hours tops. Now confused, I read the label and there is a looooong list of ingredients and no idea which might have caused this. Never ever again will I buy gluten free packaged food. 😭
I'm new to all this and I'm currently waiting for a blood test, I ate a packet of crisps 3 day's ago after being on keto diet for a month and I've had a really bad stomach since, how long roughly will it last
It is hard time 😢.
been jumping between three cities while I finish up school, I usually only feel comfortable eating at my place with my partner, otherwise I only eat certified gf frozen dinners, I got to my place on Monday, and here I am on Friday morning in so much pain 😢 gluten sucks!
I’m not a doctor but it sounds like silent reflux. Many times it’s actually from not enough stomach acid.
Drink aloe vera juice. I fill a large glass with ice and half water/soda/juice and half aloe vera juice.
My body hates me
Buscopan helps the pain
I have a gluten and dairy allergy. But it took me a while to find out I have a corn / maize allergy as well. Does anyone else suffer with this?
Hello fellow celiac people. Spread the word! 30 yrs of hell for me save someone
I’m glutened now, huge contam
I will help pass along the term "Cross Contam."
Hahaha please! 😂 Let's make "cross contam" happen! (But not literally, of course...)
Sometimes takes as many as 10 soft Imodiums to control reaction. It was a three shower day. TMI
🥺 yes
Mucus! Acid Reflux!
By hosting hookworms I keep my celiac disease in full remission.
15 or 20 min I was have pain
Why didn’t anyone have this problem 30 years ago?
They did.
@@shakeyj4523 no, they didn’t.
IKR?! I used to be able to eat anything! The wheat has changed over the years. I’m wondering if it develops after too many antibiotics.
@@scrapbookaholic There are records of this dating back 2000 years. This is not new.
@@shakeyj4523 Yes for sure. But it seems to be becoming quite prevalent that so many of us could at first eat whatever we wanted to for decades and then to be hit with this later in life.
Nice calming video to watch while you throw up
Lol @ the boyfriend giving you a veggie burger because that really happened to me except that it was made of “wheat gluten.” Horrifying.
OH no!! The WORST! Sorry to hear that. 😱
The breadcrumbs that were in that veggie burger were definitely enough to give me a terrible reaction. I've also been glutened by "wheat gluten" in fake meat (a caterer was obviously confused about the difference between vegan and gluten-free...). 😞
