Thousands of people thought they were depressed, went on mind-altering meds; but what they really had was a gluten allergy. This is only between last 1-2 decades. Food is making people sick, and they are on antidepressants instead of altering their diet. I think this is a leading factor to why so many feel so good on a Keto diet.

Remove the gluten, don't take pills for something that has nothing to do with it!
In 2018, the vast majority of doctors don't believe people are reacting to the food they eat.
In America, you take pills so you can keep on eating the shit they sell you.

Well said, I had no idea it was gluten making me depressed this whole time. I had a gluten free burger for the first time last week and for the first time in my life, I didn’t have that bloated/ depressive feeling afterwards. I ate it and felt... great! For the past week by being gluten free, my legs aren’t achey and tingling, I don’t feel depressed, I don’t feel lethargic, I don’t have brain fog, and I’m not constantly constipated anymore either. I can’t believe I wasn’t self-aware enough to realise it was the gluten doing this to me. I just thought there was something wrong with my mental health. I can’t stress how much I highly recommend anybody to try a gluten-free diet, or just notice their change in mental/ physical well-being immediately after consuming gluten-rich food to see if it is actually the gluten doing this to them instead of something else.
I was actually one of those people who ridiculed others for it being a fad as well. Oh how wrong I was!

All I know is that Keto is the way to go. I might have a gluten, carb or wheat intolerance/ allergy or even celiac but after 7 years no doctor has given me a clear answer to my million health issues. It took 3 months of strict Keto for me to start to feel my best after 26 years. I can’t imagine going back to the way I used to eat.
Anyway, thank you for the videos. They are seriously amazing! Just the perfect amount of information :)

I have Hashimoto’s and my thyroid wasn’t “responding to meds” at all and I had nodes and my weight kept piling on no matter what I ate or how much I exercised and when my levels started getting normal I was told I shouldn’t be symptomatic anymore but I was, I could barely function. Going gluten free was the only thing that helped but it was like an accumulative affect. So after about 3 months of gluten free my weight started dropping rapidly (like 30kg in 5 months) and pretty much 80% of my symptoms went away. My endo said that gluten triggers an autoimmune response in lots of people with autoimmune disease not just celiac which is super interesting and drastically changed the quality of my life.

Little House in the Big Apple do you find if you have gluten now like accidentally your symptoms come back for a few days - weeks depending on how much? Like I find if I have a bit of sauce with gluten I’ll be fine but if I have that little bit of sauce like a few times in a short period of time I will become symptomatic again for a few days or even weeks.

Very eloquent as always! I definitely have sensitivity to wheat and other grains. It took me my whole life to figure it out. My reaction is dermatitis, and my face basically starts falling off. It really wasn't until I switched to keto and then carnivore, that I noticed my face to be normal....
I just can't believe that all my life I've gone to dermatologists and not one suggested a diet change. I used to live on creams and other products, to avoid an embarrassing peeling-off face.
I am glad I eventually figured it out

It answered questions that I have been asking since before the gluten free "fad" got into full swing when I first realized I had a problem with gluten. I have never found anyone else with my reaction to wheat bread. I get insomnia anytime I eat whole wheat bread. I went 4 years with very little sleep. Out of a process of elimination, I determined this was the problem. I eliminated wheat bread and within 2 days I was sleeping all night. I have tested this theory several times over the last 6 years. If I eat a sandwich or have toast with whole wheat bread, I won't sleep that night.

I'm a service-connected veteran and get all of my care from my local VA (Palo Alto CA, my VA doc is also a Stanford Doctor). I have severe and moderate arthritis in many joints of my body, I've had one hip replacement, another one schedules for end of Oct and will need a shoulder replacement after that. One of the things that I was told was to remove gluten out of my diet as much as possible, if not completely. OMG!! This is very difficult to do! I LOVE GLUTEN!! For the last year I've been trying to eat gluten free. I've done pretty good, but not 100%. Gluten is in so many things, you have to look for things to say "Gluten Free". Even many products that are rice or quinoa still have some flour in them. I will say, it isn't making my arthritis go away, but it does help with the pain management. I'm able to use topical gels and no oral medications (which are not an option for me due to stomach issues) to control pain. Do I miss gluten? YES!! However do I feel better? Yes I do.

My naturopath told me to stop eating anything containing gluten, after about 3 months I had 2 pieces of pizza with regular flour, my stomach became bloated after eating just 2 pieces. Something I noticed after eating sandwiches prior to going gluten free, is that I would feel fuller than I should have after eating a relatively small sandwich. Going gluten free has helped lose about 15 pounds.

Turns out after 20 years of feeling like garbage without an answer as to why? All it ever was was gluten. I was told I'd be on thyroid hormone replacement for life. Turns out 10 doctor's and three endocrinologist we're all wrong. Ya no shit my TSH is going to be off if my immune system is constantly flared up.

Then a few weeks later I had a cheat day and had a lot of bread and the bumps came right back. I regret eating the bread for sure because it took forever for the bumps to go away the first time. At least now I learned to avoid wheat.

Celiac hepatitis here- from childhood, eating gluten made my abdomen swell for days amongst other symptoms like post nasal drip, with either bread, rice etc served at almost every meal.
Switched to keto a year ago and my abdomen since looks normal after eating... wish I discovered keto decades ago.

Thanks St.Thomas for spelling it out.
Also I'm under the impression that a standard GP blood test won't show a positive result if consistently on a gluten free diet.

    Hey Thomas Delauer!!!
I have my own issue with gluten That is Somewhat unique when it comes to issues with gluten.
I have asperger's Syndrome... In most cases (not all) Once we hit puberty... People with asperger's syndrome start to have a problem with gluten effecting our ability to think straight.
Keep in mind asperger's syndrome literally means that our brain is operating on a very specific alternate operating system.
To put it simply... Most people's brains are running Ios While mine is running android...

This is very comprehensive with good explanations. Does anyone else out there get tachycardia if they consume gluten? Since going GF, I’ve had two slip ups...and both times crazy fast heart rate (resting) and even elevated BP. It goes away after a few hours. Probably comes on about 30-45 minutes after ingestion.

With Hashimotos I’ve developed a gluten intolerance. It seems to be a common thing for people with autoimmune diseases. They diagnosed me with a bunch of BS, that I didn’t even have. My suggestion, please do your own research. Doctors get kick backs from medicines they prescribe.

In the process of testing for a gluten sensitivity. Only clue was testing positive for thyroid antibodies (~200 so not crazy high) which can be triggered by eating gluten. All other thyroid tests were normal. Never felt any different after eating gluten, never had heartburn TBH. Just 5 years of unexplained infertility despite having no health issues, being a healthy weight, and practicing healthy habits. The body is a mystery sometimes!

Ive been GF for the last 14 yrs. Before that , any wheat I consumed would cause acid reflux/gerd, stomach pains, diarrhea. I was only given acid blockers by my docs but wouldnt cure/solve the problem. After hearing of people suffering from celiac from consuming wheat with my same symptoms, I eliminated gluten from my diet and a couple weeks later I was off my acid blockers and havent had any issues since. Def not a fad. Unfortunately, now all my favorite foods (pizza, garlic/sour dough bread) have gone by the wayside. Unless I want eat a GF pizza with the consistency of a card board box. No fun

My reaction to gluten is neurological and mimics MS. It got to the point where I needed a cane to walk. The doctors were at a loss to explain why I had the symptoms of MS without any physical evidence of it. A friend recommended trying a gluten free diet. It's been 8 years now and I've never looked back. If I ever accidentally injest gluten, I know it within hours. My hands and feet go numb, I lose my balance, my body is shaky, etc. It's awful!

Been gluten free for 3 years now. I used to get chronic migraines that were disabilating to my daily life. 3 years ago I had cyclic vomiting syndrome and on a whim while sick I decided to leave out gluten when I was able to eat again. Since then I have not gotten a single migraine. I kept food journals for years to try and figure out if anything was triggering the migraines too. So I don't know if I'm gluten intolerant, sensitive or what. All I know is I never want to get those migraines again.

My wife has this reaction to gluten. Within 10 minutes her face will fall like it has been paralyzed and she will have a massive headache. Most recently her lips will swell a bit and her tongue will feel funny. Then for the next three weeks she will have an uncontrollable urinary tract and kidney infection.
Is this allergy or intolerance? Because it seems like allergy you me but yet the medical world calls it intolerance.

#DeLauer Audio distortion occurs because; A microphone or sound source, like a computer, is being overloaded with sound. Regarding microphones, the microphone can't handle the volume level which it's detecting and thus distorts the sound that it's sending into the sound system. ... Thus, it sends out a distorted sound.

I suppose the actual diagnosis doesn't matter if the treatment is the same (avoid wheat/gluten). However if you want to consume other grains than wheat that have gluten then it may be more important to get an actual diagnosis.

Wheat has been a gmo since the 1950’s, wheat never looked like it does today. Your’e right glyphosate is in wheat and corn, corn is gmo also.
I either gave a gluten intolerance or celiac, a blood test in the 90’s showed I had celiac markers, but back then, gluten intolerance didn’t exist. Since the 90’s medically they know alot more. But I went 100% gf anyways. Since then, I have never in my life felt any better.
I also have endometriosis, gluten flares it up, so I have 2 reasons to quit gluten. I too have issues with rice, and corn.

I actually have fructan sensitivity, and the fructan in wheat is the problem. When I have gluten on its own I have no reactions. So I avoid wheat whenever possible.
