So a monitor costs usually 150 average. Thats literally 1 day of full work for most people. Most people in America make less than 3000 a month on full time 40 hour weeks... this means basically this apple monitor is about 2.5 months of working in america, or for most people about 10 months of roof rent for a room in a family home. More if youre single and pay 1000 a month, then the monitor is 5 months of full time american rent in most normal small cities

I mean I am using an Apple Thunderbolt Display at the moment, which is kinda the same as it has no buttons. Because thunderbolt 2 is not very widespread it's a shame my girlfriend cannot use it with her windows machine when she's here doing unversity stuff, but she prefers to work on the couch anyways. As for me it's just great, I monitor turns on when my MacBook turns on, it turns off when my MacBook turns off. I can control the brightness from the keyboard and so on. Plus it has a MagSafe charging cable and with thunderbolt 2 daizy chaining, I just have my speakers and network cable plugged in to my monitor. When I come home, I put my MacBook on the stand, plug in 2 cables and everything is set up, keyboard, trackpad, speakers, ethernet, even harddrives if I wanted to. For a 2011 device that's pretty darn good. While Apple sometimes tends to lock other things out they do give you a perfectly tailored and working solution that you usually do not get anywhere else. And to be fair, Apple is more a love or hate it thing, there aren't really many people out there, than can take an unbiased stand on them. If somebody is a PC guy, he or she would probably not want to buy an Apple monitor anyways, even if it worked perfectly fine with Windows. And by saying we do not really support windows from the start anyway they could do that 2 ports into one cable thingy, that they can support on Mac OS to have a single cable daizy chaining 6K monitor, that you don't get anywhere else (correct me if I'm worng)
It’s a well built stand. I could see it being worth a few hundred dollars. But do you really need your monitor stand milled out of a giant slab of aluminum with a perfectly balanced arm and magnetic attachment system?
@5:37 I use AMD 5500XT, single DP1.4 to TB3 cable and windows recognized it as Apple Pro Display. You can then adjust the color depth to 12-bit using the AMD graphics software. And you get the full native 6K with a single cable.
@RunFor OurLives there are color calibrated monitors for half the price and less, which already gives the ability to make color correct and good quality edits and do most of what reference monitors do. This is just a minor step up from that.

Worldwide median (i.e. half of people make less, and other half makes more) annual household income per capita (not the best metric as household contains non-working children, but gives rough idea) is $3000.

Killing the hackintosh Pro community. Also I'm just waiting for the T chip to mess with the image just like it did with USB audio 😂
