It's a Go Daddy Workspace email. It is supposed to migrate to office 365 but hasn't done that yet and I want to move it to Google Workspace before it migrates to office 365. The email is set up on a desktop with outlook right now. A few other questions: 1. Can I transfer all of the email data instead of the last 6 months? 2. How long does all of this take? 3. Logically yes, I never would have thought of not to "Activate Gmail". If you activate Gmail, Data Migration will be confused because of an active account on Google Workspace

A couple more tips that I would recommend is depending on the size of the mailboxes start the move after business hours on Friday and in the Exchange side increase the EWS throttle so the transfer goes faster. In her video she only did a very small amount of data most of the times you’re working with many GBs of data so small changes can make huge performance enhancement. Good luck.

@@landonneubs unfortunately there was no manual work around for me. I had to call godaddy to email support to have them edit settings to allow for me to select org management. I didn't know how to use the ms coder app (apologies I have forgotten the name of it) to edit the settings myself.

For this, it's a little more complicated. You would have to remove your domain from Google, Place it back on Microsoft and then do the migration process.

Hi, I would recommend keeping your domain on GoDaddy but linking your GoDaddy domain to your Squarespace account. With Go Daddy, you are able to link your domain to Wix, Sqaurespace, Shopify etc. By linking it, it will not mess up your email process.

I tried to follow these directions today, only to realize that Microsoft has disabled Application Impersonation in the roles. I didn't see the error, and spent hours trying to figure out why I couldn't migrate the email. I had to switch everything back to Office 365. Does anyone know the fix now that Application Impersonation doesn't work?
I spent hours on that issue today as well. I had to contact GoDaddy via phone in order to enable/save the ApplicationImpersonation permission. Now I'm able to migrate the email and calendar.
@@jithomason GoDaddy helped you with that? They told me I had to call Google. I ended up having GoDaddy point the DNS back to their server so I had email again.
@@wayneyoung6094 Yes, I called GoDaddy multiple times. Each representative gave me a different answer. Finally, on my third call, I got someone who initiated the request. About an hour later, I was able to migrate everything. I never called Google because I saw the error message pointed back to the ApplicationImpersonation issue on the GoDaddy side.

I followed your steps and when I did the migration for both email accounts under the same domain, it tells me there is an exchange impersonation error. Is there something I am not doing in the admin section. Both emails work, I tested them through email, and the test emails are going to the new emails set up on the google workplace and not going to the outlook email

(I'm helping someone set up their site and migrate from Exchange to Google Workspace), but when I run the testing tool, it says no email server is connected...which is odd because we are receiving email and sending just fine. I added DKIM today and will (maybe?) add DMARC in a few days. If you have an ideas as to why that happened, lmk!

@Mstechnicole I finally resolved the Impersonation error but I am stuck at the migration. It is stuck at Initialising. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do

I followed your steps and when I did the migration for both email accounts under the same domain, it tells me there is an exchange impersonation error. Is there something I am not doing in the admin section. Both emails work, I tested them through email, and the test emails are going to the new emails set up on the google workplace and not going to the outlook email
Same issue. Data migration didnt complete.

I've already made it to the data migration process in Workspace before I found out the impersonation didn't save so I'm hoping there's a way to salvage this. Thanks

@@Mstechnicole Thanks! I think I got it sorted. (I'm helping someone set up their site and migrate from Exchange to Google Workspace), but when I run the testing tool, it says no email server is connected...which is odd because we are receiving email and sending just fine. I added DKIM today and will (maybe?) add DMARC in a few days. If you have an ideas as to why that happened, lmk!
