@@einarsd4 How can you think like that? Look at it like we do in the real world. When you’re at work and on your break, you have a time limit right? Isn’t tennis their job? I mean she could have said “hey how long do I have?” And not just put the blame on the person who has to stand outside of the restroom and make sure no rules are being broken. Also some players rush into the bathroom and then afterwards go into the locker room to make sure to be back in time. Think of it like you going to your break, you’d supervisor isn’t going manage your time, you are-and if you’re late coming back from break they will penalize you-especially if it’s a PAID break. I’ve had to let my employees know that it’s up to them to manage their time and in our employee handbook they know what the consequences will be if they go over their breaks.
@@jobuck879 Your statement is absolutely absurd. Ana Bogdan didn't have a phone with her, because rules restrict taking phone in the bathroom during bathroom breaks, since that Tsitsipas incident. She didn't know how long she even was in the bathroom. And tennis players can't just run outside the bathroom to ask how much time they have left of that break. It's the duty of officials to inform tennis players how much time they have left of that specific bathroom break. In this case tennis officials failed to do so, and it caused both Sara Sorribes Tormo and Ana Bogdan to return on the court very late. In such heat is impossible to keep track of time. She’s responsible to follow any new rule changes, she’s responsible for any new ban list of drugs…it’s her career. That means when she goes on break she’s responsible for her time management. She should have asked how much time is left and not been depending on someone else to let her know. I played tennis in high school and in college. I knew exactly how much time was allowed for bathroom breaks and I promise you that I never once was penalized due to being over the time limit. It’s her fault. She didn’t have to go find them to ask how much time was left!! Don’t be absurd-your hubris is pathetic. All the umpires and supervisors need to be like Kjendlie. No messing about.....this is the decision, this is why, move on. Some of them spend so much time pandering to the players, or not being clear and direct, which allows the player to go on and on.
EXACTLY!
Kjendlie's not an example of who to follow. Remember, she was the umpire who actually changed her decision to replay a point because Woz's dad was complaining.
@@pomerlain8924 ooh? What match was this? Any clips?
Why the heck is there even a restaurant next to a court 💀
The part I don't understand about the bathroom fiasco is the resultant score.
The supervisor said that Bogdan received 6 point penalties and that both players received time violations until deuce in the opening game.
Shouldn't that make the score 1-0, 15-0? Not 1-0, 30-0?
Shared Penalty 1: 0-0, 15-15
Shared Penalty 2: 0-0, 30-30
Shared Penalty 3: 0-0, 40-40
Penalty 4: 0-0, AD-40
Penalty 5: 1-0, 0-0
Penalty 6: 1-0, 15-0
I'm thinking they did some quick mental math and arrived at that incorrect score instead of assessing the penalties one at a time.
Shared penalties are two, not three.
@@pinoonpi194 That would be convenient, but the supervisor specifically says in the video, "When it was deuce ..." The only way that happens is if they both received 3 penalties.
Love these videos. I think i have watched all if them fromthis channel.keep them coming mate
They're addicting

When i think that i saw every kind of drama in tennis, then WTA come with "restaurant near centre court" drama.
That arrogant solid rich man sat down right behind the player during game in the lowest row to chat with another man and chat on the phone. He can just do anything
I doubt he’s rich - seems too embarrassing. More like a clueless imbecile with zero cultural exposure and a total lack of sophistication.
And quite possibly the product of a great deal of inbreeding.
Am i the onlyone who thinks tennis has idiotic rules? The ten minute break thing alone is just absurd if its going to be managed this poorly
I agree with you. Umpire or supervisor should come with a tennis player and tell them how much time they have left from that bathroom break, so that they knew that. Then there will not be situations like with Bogdan vs Tormo match.
@@einarsd4 How can you think like that? Look at it like we do in the real world. When you’re at work and on your break, you have a time limit right? Isn’t tennis their job? They chose to make it their career right? So if that’s the case then they need to have some own personal accountability to manage their break times.
It was organiser's and tennis official's fault that this happened.
@@einarsd4 I didn’t say she had a phone did I? No I did not. What I said is that since tennis is her career then she is responsible for EVERYTHING that will affect her including time management. Every aspect of the game is her responsibility--look it up you may not have a clue as to what the word responsibility actually means--and I do mean it’s her responsibility. She can’t put the blame all on the other person. It’s called accountability and responsibility…learn those 2 words fully today. And the person was standing right outside the door!! She didn’t have to go find them to ask how much time was left!! Don’t be absurd-your hubris is pathetic. And even if she didn’t want to go outside and ask she could have shouted out “How much time is life??!!” I mean they were standing right at the damn door. It’s her own responsibility period!!
@@jobuck879 Another idiotic statement by you. You clearly have zero fricking idea how tennis rules works. High school tennis and professional tennis are two different things. Learn it, you idiot. Professional tennis have completely different rules than high school tennis. High school tennis isn't professional tennis at all, you dimwit. It's not her responsibility to know how much time is left from that bathroom break. It's only tennis staff responsibility. She cannot shout as it might disturb other tennis players who are waiting for their turn. And if she will shout frequently, others might think that she is crazy. Also frequently running outside the bathroom to ask how much time is left also looks stupid. You clearly have zero fricking idea how professional tennis even works. Just face it. I won this argument. I have facts on my side and you only have your own baseless arguments. You keep on embarrassing and humiliating yourself. Take L and shut up.
3:03 what a clown! 😡
Simona Halep was 100% correct. The call was before her shot and it clearly affected her return. So umpire should have given replay of the point. It's that simple.
They guy in Azarenks's clip should be a famous one, because the man seated near him is a former Volleyball champion and commentator of the italian national team.
The organisers of too many events are completely clueless. Music blaring from neighbouring courts, flashing screens with adverts, and now restaurants right on the court with people nattering and facing away from the tennis. Tasteless in the absolute.
The situation with Ana seems totally wrong.. it's obvious there was miscommunication with the girl escorting her to the bathroom and they're desperately trying to put the blame on Ana instead of the girl because they're trying to make their tournament look good.. so disrespectful
Looks dodgy... i'll give it that...
A part of me sides with her... it's the escorting womens word againt Anas... mmm
She should know the rules and shouldn't make such a drama. And the ball didn't bounce twice
Why is a grown woman depending on another to remind her of the time? She's a pro, she knows the rule! The lack of her own accountability was ridiculous.
Also Muguruza is all talk. If Sharapova hit that shot she wouldn't say anything 🤣
Trevisan's grunts make an appearance in the Párrizas-Mladenovic match. 😅
Umpires should be allowed to say "Shut the f up and play"
honestly, it should be the player's responsibility to be back from the toilet in 10 minutes. If you don't, it's your problem.
feel so bad for bogdan... mustve felt like everyone was against her
I love your videos Tennis Advocate!!!
Dunno if it's a language barrier or what, but couldn't the organizers just tell Bogdan that they're not her countdown timer and that she should be conscious of the time she's spending when on these breaks?
How could she if she has not a watch/phone?
@@andresf1984 Bring a watch. Iga does. And don't spend 10 minutes in the stall. It's a heat break, not a pee break. (Well, it's also a pee break). But she could just do her business and the sit in the locker room where there are clocks all over.
@@andresf1984 bring a watch. Come on. Is she a baby or what? It's grown up people.
They still were kinda rude about it. Both players were late. If the girl who escorted her to the restroom was considerate at all she could’ve been like 1 minute left. Sure you can be technical. But being technical is what makes you an asshole here
i mean they explained themselves without a problem: it's just that 9/10 of the tennis Players in these videos tend to be very arrogant and that was an example of a person who just won't listen to the point they're making because she wants to be right
Bogdan doesn't know what a watch or timer is ? A pro has to be pampered that much ? A pro can't track the time ? Come on. Her whining is ridiculous.
That umpire showed Putintseva who's boss 😂😂
Whoever thought it was a good idea to have a restaurant near the court needs some talking to
wouldn't be a drama video without putintseva. Got confused for a minute 😆
i love this series, thank you!! 😆
🙏💚
Fantastic upload! Can't wait for the Wimbledon drama highlights.
Kyrgios will surely be there...
🙏💚
Anna kalinskaya- WTA sucks....very much agree!!
So Bogdan just sat there for 10 minutes, didn't change clothes til she was told Time Is Over and was saying it wasn't normal lol. This girl is crazy.
ive never attended a tennis match. are they supposed to not allow spectators to come in/out during the match at all? or only during crossovers or something?
Yeah, only during crossovers or set breaks. It's why usually even at Grand Slams, the arena is reasonably empty for the first game or even the first three, before a large percentage of people arrive
These women are behaving like drama queens in a reality TV show. Soooooo immature.
I am a simple man. I see Putintseva's tantrums "good from behind", I hit the "like" button.
15:48 man i really thought it will be the first time ever that Putinseva is coming off good in this series.. luckily i was wrong approx. 3 sec after :D
Ana Bogdan has a complete victim mentality and her whining was so annoying to listen to. She's a pro player and knows the rules. Blaming others for not timing her bodily functions when she didn't even bother to have any sense of urgency returning or to ask how much time she has left. furthermore, she's a liar. THE BALL DIDN'T BOUNCE TWICE. 🙄
Does Ana Bogdan not understand???
Why does she keep repeating the same thing, it doesn't matter. She knows that she can watch the 10 mins herself, right?
The problem is that noone told her how much time she had left from that bathroom break. Do you really expected her during such heatwave to count seconds in her head?
@@einarsd4 no one told her as if she's not a pro tennis player and knows she has 10 mins. How about she move with a bit of urgency and ask how much time she has left? She acted like a complete bratty victim.
To be honest I'm glad they're coming down hard on toilet breaks, they've turned into a complete joke now
These players have some great reflexes. a dude calls out and within a milisecond they are hindered and change the way they were going to strike the ball
Damn bruh I like Ruse so much more now for that ‘STFU’
Poor Bogdan... she had no idea she was late and she lost a GAME AND A HALF over it???
She has to keep track of her own time. She knows the rule is 10 minutes. That's what the supervisor was trying to tell her. But she was so fixated on blaming the other person she couldn't acknowledge her own culpability.
@@christopherborum6551 buddy how the fuck are you supposed to track your time IN THE BATHROOM, when you're not allowed to have your phone to check you time and the person who's with you for a sole reason to help you track your time to get back to the court is not telling you shit? how in the living fuck do you think either the supervisor or you are making a point right here?
@@shengooo1 Everyone has a phone these days, dunno why players wouldn't use a timer/stopwatch
@@TDTheTruth bud they are not allowed to take the phone. Just because tsitsipas is sneaking the phone ith his bag to text his father for coaching, does not mean players are allowed to bring their phoes with them during such breaks.
@@shengooo1 Chum, she can wear a watch. Or ask the attendant to give her a countdown instead of just hoping she does. Or pee quick and then wait in the locker room instead of sitting on the toilet the whole time, which is apparently what she did. Everyone else (except Sara, obvs) figured it out.
where is ostapenko?
she has just been arrested for a) shoplifting makeup at a Macy's in Peoria; b) seen filling out job applications at various bakeries (as she already has the puffy-blouse outfit).
In my opinion, in cases like the first one the umpire's decision is right. At service speed it's almost impossible to be affected by any call even if it comes a few splits of seconds before the raquet touches the ball. The placement, the motion etc have already been decided and a call could not affect any of those at such short period of time. I think it should be a general rule that in service, points should be replayed only if the receiver puts the ball back in.
Muguruza being a crybaby as usual.
We need an hour compilation of Putinseva's drama
I think a bouncy castle on the edge of the court is a great idea. Hey, Lausanne…
Imagine going out for dinner and having a chair umpire and tennis players yelling at you just because you're trying to enjoy your meal.
A restaurant BEHIND a tennis court idea of the century for sure 😂😂
it's an unfortunate situation whereby the person to blame is no one on site, it's the brainless idiot who thought putting a restaurant next to a tennis court is a good idea.
Like it's the tennis players fault, there shouldn't be a restaurant, next to the tennis court. People are just gonna be talking and distracting the players.
@@sadas3190 The restaurant is part of the club though, so there is no excuse on that front. They should have closed or better coordinated/organised the dining when there is a professional tournament going on.
Ana, next time, take a watch with you :D
What a bunch of cry babies. I understand they need competitive mindset to be professional athletes but come on! As if they were never wrong…
that mladenovic serve at 4:24 didn't it touch the net before she asked to check if it was in? correct me if I'm wrong.
Yes it did, but if it was in it would be counted as a let and therefore first serve. If not, it would mean she was on her second serve. I’ll be honest I thought it looked in and he seemed to be looking at the wrong mark…
Perhaps Bogdan should invest in a clock, if she has trouble figuring out what 10 minutes is..
Why do they ever let a human decide where the ball went when cameras exist?
A game and 30- love for being 1:30 mins later than the other player when both players were late ...... Can someone confirm is that was a correct decision? Wouldn't BOTH players receive a time violation?!
Victim mentality... They're never changing their minds... Just get over bad calls
why is he thanking the restaurant goers lmao
Bogdan was being so extra. All that arguing and u still didn’t get want u want.
It was an entire game and a half over something she wasn't told. She fully deserved to argue as much as she did. It was ridiculous
lol the organizers are wrong for this, its their fault that they are not organized and they penalize the players.
no nonsense stuff by the umpire in the last clip, or at least it was edited that way. plenty of umpires take forever to get their points across and end up in long drawn out arguments.
That restaurant ohhh my God!!! Why a restaurant so close!! You don' t respect players work and themself!! It' s so sad!!! 😞😞
Mr Ranieri needs to tell Ana simply: "Restart play now or suffer additional point penalties." The additional delay was completely unfair to her opponent. And naturally no tennis drama video is complete without a couple of Putintseva clips - worst player in the WTA (measured by ethics and fair-play morals).
Wow that Lausanne venue is simply horrible!! Zero respect to the players
Before any match players should be told the main rules that cause problem. So simple to fix it!
Bogdan should know the rules and shouldn't make such a drama. And the ball didn't bounce twice!
seriously the "bAlL bOuNcEd TwiCe" was a desperate attempt to grasp at straws.
First time I've been on Putintseva's side and then followed up with a video where she's wrong again. Also thought they were being a bit pissy about the restaurant.
Were on Putintseva's side for hitting Muguruza? Especially with her gross win reaction showcased right afterwards.
Putintaeva twice in this video! Wish her performance was as good as she’s in drama
I don't understand why "out" isn't shout AFTER the receiver-player hit the ball ; why they have to say it immediately (just before or during the hit) ? Isn't it a stupid rule ?
"Not in my opinion" is code for "I dont pay attention so I guess".
See please Pedro Martínez vs chilean fans in the semifinal on the chile open
Yayyyyy it had Putintseva ))
The call against Halep is ridiculous
The man at the left of "the clown" is an ex volley champion: Andrea Lucchetta and the clown is wearing a pin probably of the politic party Lega. 😄
So a right-wing populist! "How surprising!" :D
Respect to that last lady umpire❤.
Did anyone see the real bounce replay on that last call? It looked like the ball didnt even bounce when it was called
Bounced once
Jeez that is a worst set up for a match venue for Kalinskaya vs. Danilović
A tennis match next to a restaurant is a joke but low rankings cannot choose
Putintseva yuck 🤮
She’s got those blank cow eyes
Start with Collins....but not the way I thought :D
I was couple of time in Switzerland , its really hard to bellive for such a perfect country which really is to see some things , I'm not talking only about restaurant near the court case , its also the way some of them treats their kids and how they don't give a flying duck for human beings in general , specially strangers
I met older couple on my hicking on mountain , they were so polite , friendly , mind opened , they tell me ( when I told them how good people they are and how they deserves such a beautiful country) that not all swiss are like that , and that there are some really horrible people in the country (and its a big, big number) who will let you die in front of them without blink...
they historically don't take sides... are ''neutral'' to what happens outside of their borders... that does explain a little why they are usually considered unfriendly towards foreigners...
(they don't mind taking their garbage to their neighbouring countries though...)
I can't believe that was in Lausanne, I swear to God I thought it would be some city of Spain where people don't give a shit about the rest when eating at a restaurant terrace!
