And as far as Cornet goes, one can only assume that umpire does not like her personally or something. Difficult to find any other reasonable grounds for an overrule there.
The Vickery situation is not science. If the call afectes her shot is a reply. If it didn’t, then it’s not. She was using the wrong argument. She needed to say the umpires call hindered her shot. That was enough for a reply.
I don see why is it so hard to just them them replay the point, due to umpire mistake, I hope vickery choose to refuse to play with that umpire again..
Umpire and Ref made a complete f-ing mess of the Vickery call. The incorrect out call came before her play on the ball. That's hindrance and therefore a replay. The timing of the subsequent correction is irrelevant to her right to replay the point.
I don't understand what the point of having a supervisor if they never change anything? Waste of time, money, and space. I rolled my eyes when the guy came out, and he looked 90 years old. All that money that can be used for something way more useful, wasted
The chair umpire said that the call didn't affect Vickery's shot, which is clearly a bad decision, but it's a judgement call. Supervisors aren't allowed, by rule, to overrule judgement calls. This situation is entirely the chair umpire's fault, not the supervisor's.
That very first scene, the point should be replayed as the chair umpire over ruled the line judge and this was a hindrance. The point should be replayed. Even if Vickery's ball didn't go over.... Also, the drop shot was clearly out.
Honestly what is the point in the referees? They never DO ANYTHING when they are called out. Clearly Vickery was in the right there and a quick video replay would have shown that. But just bumbling onto court and listening to the frankly incomprehensible explanation from the umpire is not enough.
Felicito a Vickery que muestra la incompetencia de los chair umpire y del supervisor. Se tapan la incompetencia ambos. Y, me gustó su manera de despedirse de su rival y, no despedirse de la chair umpire. Vickery no es hipocrita. La felicito.
Where is Martincová asking the line judge "are u blind?" She played doubles with Strýcová and they were badly robbed... they eventually lost the match at the end.
Straight up, all chair umpires MUST be able to speak English fluently. It is the most common language in the world, and an inability to communicate clearly with supervisors, players, even spectators has the ability to ruin a match. I don't even think the supervisor could clearly communicate to Vickery what he was trying to say. Ridiculous.

Still don't get why we still have so many unprofessional umpires making so many awful mistakes. So many errors. Just put AI to check line balls and technology to take decisions like this point in Vickery
Every time I watch these videos, I always have the same thought; more of these should be conceded by the opponent. It happens occasionally and when it does, the fans always cheer and there's so much general good will for the player who steps up and concedes the argument. Some of these are so cut and dry, and it's honestly kind of shady and shitty for some of these players to just sit there and be like "hey he made the call, i didn't see it." Bullshit. This is especially true on the ones where an out call is made well after a person hit a missed shot, and then the out call gets overturned, and the player who mishit the return wants to act like the call affected their shot. Just be straight up and honest and concede obvious points even though they go against you and lets keep things fair and moving

Nishioka must make up for quantity with quality.
The Vickery situation is not science. If the call afectes her shot is a reply. If it didn’t, then it’s not.
She was using the wrong argument.
She needed to say the umpires call hindered her shot. That was enough for a reply.
The supervisor actually did well with the information he was given.
Riske would have not let that fly lol.
3:06 Vickery такая красивая😍🤩🤯.

BWHAHA that sakkari ball that cornet complained about was SO FAR out that was ridiculous wtf
Usually Vickery is quick to be negative, but this is ridiculous she was 100% right, that umpire shouldn't sit in that chair
I don see why is it so hard to just them them replay the point, due to umpire mistake, I hope vickery choose to refuse to play with that umpire again..
What a terrible umpire call for Vickery, and why do the supervisors never do anything against these terrible miscalls?
A French player has got a nerve talking about home umpiring lol
Umpire and Ref made a complete f-ing mess of the Vickery call. The incorrect out call came before her play on the ball. That's hindrance and therefore a replay. The timing of the subsequent correction is irrelevant to her right to replay the point.
Some of these calls 🤦♀
The out and overrule happened as she was setting up to swing at the ball. That a hindrance. Replay for Vickery
I don't understand what the point of having a supervisor if they never change anything? Waste of time, money, and space. I rolled my eyes when the guy came out, and he looked 90 years old. All that money that can be used for something way more useful, wasted
Vickery is 100% right. The umpire didn't even deny it. But the white 75 yo deaf guy did.
Can you stop making this about race!!! Thank you.
Yet another example of the supervisor getting paid to do nothing.
There's no grounds to call the supervisor in the vickery-match. It's a judgement call and someone needs to tell vickery the rules.
Umpire has to be disciplined for unfairness on the court.
Straight up, all chair umpires MUST be able to speak English fluently. It is the most common language in the world, and an inability to communicate clearly with supervisors, players, even spectators has the ability to ruin a match. I don't even think the supervisor could clearly communicate to Vickery what he was trying to say. Ridiculous.
Hey Tennis Advocate, just fyi for your next video you need to research and show the controversy between Sakkari and Collins at the National Bank Open, where Collins told Maria to "shut your mouth" after Maria hit a ball out towards the stands after missing a serve. Looking forward to it and the others!
Hey, yes, I've seen it. It was quite intense haha
Why have supervisors that don't even watch the match? How can you actually supervise?
Vickery call was bad enough, but the miscommunication between umpire and referee is terrible. Guy was so old he had no idea what the umpire was saying and English wasn’t her strongest suit already
Still don't get why we still have so many unprofessional umpires making so many awful mistakes. So many errors. Just put AI to check line balls and technology to take decisions like this point in Vickery
Why do they even call referees? They never change the situation. This ref was like 100, didn’t even understand the situation.

“Call the supervisor”
The supervisor: 🤡🤡🤡
These umpires are literal jokes!! There must be some provision against them like deduction in the match fee or suspension if they mess up n times a year
in the Vickery match even Bektas was walking to replay the point the stupid umpire gave the point to her
The Vickery situation pissed me off lmao it's like these people are just talking out their asses. Isn't this "professional" tennis? I feel for her.
Vickery umpire should not be umpiring at this level. Needs to go back to AAA or whatever the lower leagues are. Embarrassing.
Maaan i could NOT be an umpire, i have trash memory lool
Vickery's opponent should have stepped in.
