  • In this video, Serg from DT Performance (Union, NJ) replaces the oil separator (positive crankcase ventilation valve or pcv), thermostat, water pump, and coolant pipe on my 2010 Audi B8 S4. Considering that this video is a vlog and not a DIY, I've added parts diagrams and part numbers in the video for those looking for more information regarding this installation.
    A huge shoutout to Serg and DT Performance for their hard work and great customer service!

    Currently have a coolant leak that I'm trying to track down. I think my water pump was changed fairly recently by Audi through the previous owner, I need to check the service history to find out exactly when. Maybe the gasket on it has failed like yours. Not sure if my PCV has ever been done so I may do this. I know the leak is coming from somewhere near the front of the engine so I think my next job is supercharger off and look for obvious signs of where it's been leaking and then look at changing hoses and o-rings wherever I see it. Will check if the thermostat has ever been done also and change that if it's not too expensive. Such a complicated cooling system! I just hope I can find and sort my pesky leak, I want to drive the car again!
    Still 150,000 miles though and still solid, I bought it for an absolute steal for £8250 at 144,000. Such a nice car to own!
    Great video, thanks!

      I would also check whatever cylinder the miss fire is on. Sometimes the intercoolers on the supercharger leak and cause coolant to leak into the cylinders

    So I’m trying to take off my coolant front pipe/crossover pipe, whichever one. I just can’t find out what the bolt size is on that to remove the 4 bolts holding it on. Mine is leaking coolant and the pipe was worn where it connects to the thermostat. Please help!

      Nevermind, found out mine were a T25 Star to remove them. But 2 of the bolts had been stripped to crap. Replacing all the plastic lines and everything because mine was pissing coolant and it would get stuck between the block and supercharger.

    • @BlacklistBuilds
      @BlacklistBuilds  3 роки тому

      The coolant pipe was disconnected from the main radiator. You could either have a leak in the radiator or a coolant hose if it's in that area.

    • @BlacklistBuilds
      @BlacklistBuilds  3 роки тому

      If you're losing coolant without a visible leak then you might have an internal leak from the pcv or the cooler(s) inside the supercharger itself.

    • @jdmnismo7
      @jdmnismo7 3 роки тому

      @@BlacklistBuilds i did a compression test 10 mins ago and its holding fine with small leakage near the middle of the supercharger, I can visually see an external pool of coolant close to the crossover pipe and close to the water pump. Is the pcv valve under the supercharger?

    Hey man how did you know when these needed to be done? Any signs? My 2012 S4 just was over heating without coolant, so obviously I topped it off, but after letting it sit for about 10-20 minutes, and then starting it again and driving it was slowly heating up again to about 3/4 of the gauge. Would that be a sign of needing this done? 😂 please help 🙏🏼

    • @BlacklistBuilds
      @BlacklistBuilds  4 роки тому +1

      Yeah you definitely need a service lol. Don't drive around if your engine is over heating; you'll damage the motor. If you have massive coolant loss it's normally the water pump. I would change the thermostat as well. Check for other leaks.

    • @BlacklistBuilds
      @BlacklistBuilds  3 роки тому

      Depends on the age/mileage of the pipe. Keep in mind that the plastic becomes brittle over time. I would change it as preventative maintenance if you're nearing 100k mi.
