Thus, when all those factors are combined, Lysithea will have 22 Str when she passes the Warrior exam and switches to that class. Then, when Lysithea is in the Warrior class, she has a 30% growth rate in Str. If Lysithea's Str is 22 at level 20, the average of the Str she can get al level 25 is 23.5. Chaz's Lysithea has 25 Str, which is just slightly above average. There was a 13.23% of Lysithea gaining 3 Str points in 5 levels, so Chaz was just a bit lucky.
promotion bonuses, my young padawan. when you promote, your stats get bupmed up to the classes base stats if they are lower. warrior's base stat in atk is 19. give her 2 str boosting items and she'll be at 25. even if you don't do that, swordmaster only costs a seal and that brings her up to 17.

thank you so much for this video! i felt so lost trying to optimize my character's weapon roster. i feel like a real WEIGHT has been lifted off my shoulders
I never even knew weight -3 was a learnable skill until my third play through, my current one. Why? Because I never bothered with armored units. Dedue and Raph both were glass cannons as War Masters. Thank you for making this video! This helps a lot! ^.^
Choosi! I wasnt early to this vid and now im sad :( Just remember training armor on Byleth is the best because you not only can snag weight -3 but you can also get the best character in the game, Ferdinand von Aegir!
It’s ESPECIALLY good on Byleth in particular because he/she has the most middling Str and SPD bases and growths in the game, which is the perfect time for Weight -3 to kick in. It can make or break middling Str/SPD units’ abilities to double or avoid getting doubled.
Dude, i so much appreciate your videos and this one specifically. I tried googling and for the life of me couldnt find a guide on this. Just had to rewatch this again on my church playthrough. Going to finish with black eagles next and then thatll be all of them!
Huh, there go my hopes of Armored Knight Annette, my main problem I've encountered on my first play through is either I doubled everyone or I struggle with doubling everyone, in fact the only units that consistently doubled was Felix, Catherine and Byleth, I've been using Gauntlets a lot on the non Cav Males for that reason. Definitely gonna try and get some extra Spd on my units in the early game on my second BL playthrough where I actually recruit some other house units, since unlike in Heroes Speed is the best stat.
Kainos Teleos Oh yeah actually there was four, Ingrid was my other one and the fastest near the end. I definitely have high hopes for Petra during Black Eagles.
Armored knight Annette should work quite well actually. The consesus is that Annette best spell is Bolt Axe+ and post time skip you can buy the arcane crystal. If you go something like: monk-mage-fortress knight-great knight to grab fiendish blow she can oneshot people so who cares about doubling? And she should get some durability out of the armor classes bases and growth, so she should be able to take a hit. Not as good as wyvern bolt axe annie, but should be viable.
sono un idiota Ha that sounds like a funny thing to do, is say the main problem you'd face going down that path is the loss of her Magic growth but I wouldn't mind messing around with it in my third BL run since I'm already focusing on a few flaws on my current units like Axes for Dimitri and Swords for Mercedes.
Id argue move in this game isnt a useful in this game till late game once wyverns and cavs reach the 8 mov. For the most part infantry wont be too far from your cavs by the end.
Id also say that the varied objectives and the way they often break up starting positions gives even 4 movment units their role and utility with the proper strategy.
I really need a full list of formulas.. there’s vital stuff I learned really late. Magic is weird in general, and it seems they are determined to make high Luck worth your time. I like the new weight though. In older games it either something a unit was dragged down by or it quickly loses relevance. In this game all enemies lose AS and it also somewhat balances axes. There might be some enemies and situations in which you might want both AS and power, but the game pushes you to have specialized units handle it. Training gear is overkill on a lot of units lategame, many powerhouses eventually negate the iron penalty lategame, or have enough surplus speed they don’t care. At least it is something to consider having multiple weapon variants on you at all times.
Thank you Choopi for always being frothy. I love popping in your stream VODs whenever I get caught up in 3H. The game is so thick (with padding, but still) I can't wait to see what the DLC is like
I made Bernadetta into a Pure Heavy Armor so she can reduce the weight of the better bows and such early on the following playthrough to better emphasize her raw Speed. :D Weight-5 Speed+2 with a Steel Bow is so nice. :)
I love your voice my guy, subscribing from that alone. And you're smart on this stuff to boot. Never knew how to get the speed +2 until now, or how to even really work out the avoid and attack speed. Keep up the good work.
coming back and watching through your is so much fun, i love how you write and edit that into something so like idk it just flows through my brain and makes sense its awesome
@@TwinPkVideos On a tanky unit like a Fortress Knight, AS is meaningless. On quicker, but weaker classes like Assassins and Falcon Knights, it's probably still for the best to use higher Mt weapons. 0×2 will always be 0.
6:30 this is why the only viable, smooth-to-train armor knights are Hilda and Edelgard as they have decent res growth and high speed growth base to not get doubled and blasted by mages. The extra weight for them is a Hex shield(+5 res) or similar res-shield and with a pure water they can tank from all damage sources. Also Hilda's dex is so bad she needs some extra layers for her axe-misses to not hurt like hell, as well as provide a great front line to the golden deer's archer and sorcery parade.
Big brain moment: What if you equip both? \0.0/ In all seriousness though, a couple of notes: -Fortress Knights get Weight -5 as a class skill, giving you an effective -8 to Weight with said skill equipped. -Speed +2 is also better in the sense that your Weight Stat can not go Negative, meaning that if my unit had Weight -3 as a skill and a 5 Weight Weapon, but already had 25 Strength, instead of doing as the Math would suggest in giving you +3 Speed, instead you simply get no speed Penalties.
I do use training weapons early game, but around mid-game the strength stat of every unit is generally high enough to equip iron weapons over training weapons. Steel I rarely use, only for combat arts early game. Silver actually weights less and is stronger than steel, so stronger weapons are not always heavier.
@@AkameGaKillfan777 Which is what I stated, I only use them for combat arts. Silver gauntlets are apparently the exception to the rule in that case. I rarely use gauntlets so I didn't notice that for other weapons silver is always lighter.
Thank you for the comment about how it's pointless to try to build Speed or AS on every unit. I've seen so many people saying that slow units/Class suck because they get double by everyone and can't kill anything. Well just max their defensive stats and make them one shot people instead of doubling them then, it's basically the same. It's especially true in this game where the first half of the game have very little magic users so you can just tank everything with an armor Dedue or Hilda.
Holy absolute fuck man. Among the reasons I need the next mainline entry to Fire Emblem, selfishly wanting more of these super in depth and INSANELY polished videos. This is absolute top tier content for one of my favourite game series. Incredibly well done to say the least.
Talking about stats in FE is hard cause you need to talk about stat benchmarks in each chapter for each bach of enemies. The problem is enemy AS doesn't scale in steps as in 'chapters 4-8 you need 16 AS to double all soldiers' there is a huge variety and mixtures of HP and AS you need to account in EACH chapter of the game. You could say training weapons let you double but they might fall short on the might benchmarks for 1 rounding a bach of units, where a steel weapon would've let you 1 round if you could also double utalizing weight -3. Adding to that how growth rates are literally random and you can't plan it out with a good enough assumption that accounts for having 3 less or more speed than a benchmark. All this adds to how you can't really 'plan' around going out of your way training someone in armor just for Wt-3 because there are far too many variables in play and has too high of a requirement (rank C) to be used when improvising. I suck at explaining in text, I promise this makes sense I'm just english bad.
What about if you make a unit with 55-60% speed growth a fortress knight or great knight in the late game? I was planning on having Felix be a swordmaster up until I can certify as a fortress knight. Then at level 25-30 when I switch to fortress knight, he gets the def boost from the certification and nullifies the penalty from the class with double weight -5. With a speed stat of 35+ to boot. Voila, you have a speedster, that can casually double with any axe and if you manage to hit him, it tickles. You can achieve a similar effect with edelgard, luck, and some speedwings. Granted it's kind of overkill, but it's an option.
@@gystes_ I always run double stride gambits to mitigate that a bit. Also, you can run movement +1 skill and the item that gives you movement. You will never feel like a flier, but you can at least not feel like a turtle.

thank you so much for this video! i felt so lost trying to optimize my character's weapon roster. i feel like a real WEIGHT has been lifted off my shoulders
Armors are your favourite? What is this, Fire Emblem Heroes?
(P.S. Loving the guides choopi, keep it up)
No, its Fire Emblem: Three Heroes for the Nintendo 3DS
I never even knew weight -3 was a learnable skill until my third play through, my current one. Why? Because I never bothered with armored units. Dedue and Raph both were glass cannons as War Masters.
Thank you for making this video! This helps a lot! ^.^
I could listen to that voice for days....
Thanks for the tips and for keeping it spoiler free.
Choosi! I wasnt early to this vid and now im sad :(
Just remember training armor on Byleth is the best because you not only can snag weight -3 but you can also get the best character in the game, Ferdinand von Aegir!
I don't understand, what is he saying ?
Eh he's good, not the best. Imo Lysithea and Petra compete for best character, Lysithea being best magic attacker and Petra best physical attacker
Glad the weight is over-I’ve been looking forward to this video!
Dimitri doubles a lot too lol
Andie Skywalker Yeah on average he does, I kinda just got Speed screwed on my first play through since Dimitri was very inconsistent for me.
Pretty much the conclusion I've come to so far in my run. I think if it was -5 or even -4 it'd be more worth it.
It is -5 if you have high enough Armour rank.
@@XenithShadow yeah A+ but in comparison horses get move +1 and fliers get alert stance + which are infinitely better haha
So speed is the most important stat after movement unless ur makin a unit the tankiest of tanks. Useful vid!
I also really like there are enemies designed around. ‘Okay, this WILL double you, counter it!’
Thank you Choopi for always being frothy. I love popping in your stream VODs whenever I get caught up in 3H. The game is so thick (with padding, but still) I can't wait to see what the DLC is like
It would be cool to have more cipher characters, like in echoes
I made Bernadetta into a Pure Heavy Armor so she can reduce the weight of the better bows and such early on the following playthrough to better emphasize her raw Speed. :D Weight-5 Speed+2 with a Steel Bow is so nice. :)
I love your voice my guy, subscribing from that alone. And you're smart on this stuff to boot. Never knew how to get the speed +2 until now, or how to even really work out the avoid and attack speed. Keep up the good work.
Greetings and welcome. Welcome to choosi's house!
from the creator of armor knight Annete, there it comes the unforgatable sequel, *Fortress Knight Lysithea*
(DO IT CHAZ)
coming back and watching through your is so much fun, i love how you write and edit that into something so
like idk
it just flows through my brain and makes sense its awesome
thank u for the kind words! have a great day.
Iron+ weapons are OP for this reason!
This is a really well-made instructional video, I learned a bunch despite having already completed the game once. Thanks for making it!
Strength applying to AS actually makes a lot of sense
Stronger characters handle heavy equipment better.
AkameGaKillfan777 weight won’t pull you down if you’re strong enough
@@RotGirl-lol If you need to use training weapons late game so your Avo and AS won't suffer, you probably shouldn't be using that unit.
@@TwinPkVideos On a tanky unit like a Fortress Knight, AS is meaningless. On quicker, but weaker classes like Assassins and Falcon Knights, it's probably still for the best to use higher Mt weapons. 0×2 will always be 0.
That extreme intro always gets me. So satisfying, silly, unique and.... Charming lol Subbed 4 life.
YOU MADE EXACTLY 20,000 subsrcibers as of now, congrats!!
In all seriousness though, a couple of notes: -Fortress Knights get Weight -5 as a class skill, giving you an effective -8 to Weight with said skill equipped.
Steel weapons have high durability, so they're great for Combat Arts. Also Silver Gauntlets are actually heavier.
@@AkameGaKillfan777 Which is what I stated, I only use them for combat arts. Silver gauntlets are apparently the exception to the rule in that case. I rarely use gauntlets so I didn't notice that for other weapons silver is always lighter.
This man’s voice does not match his face i’m shook
These are the kinds of mechanics that lend themselves well to a competitive multiplayer mode.
Except hackers do exist here, not just in Fates.
What! you mean my weight OH no.
Also gauntlets exist.
Legit started getting units to C armor when I first saw weight minus 3 on Raphael lol
AS=Spd-(Wgt-Str/5)
That's all I needed to know. Thanks : )
Dude, that Armor Annette was the best thing ever, what are you saying?
I didn't hear anything... I was mesmerized by the beautiful hair. So shiny.
Chaz you remembered to do an intro
Thank you Choopi! Everyone needs to watch this! I had to research online to figure the weight formula out
What about if you make a unit with 55-60% speed growth a fortress knight or great knight in the late game? I was planning on having Felix be a swordmaster up until I can certify as a fortress knight. Then at level 25-30 when I switch to fortress knight, he gets the def boost from the certification and nullifies the penalty from the class with double weight -5. With a speed stat of 35+ to boot. Voila, you have a speedster, that can casually double with any axe and if you manage to hit him, it tickles. You can achieve a similar effect with edelgard, luck, and some speedwings. Granted it's kind of overkill, but it's an option.
Armor units low movement would still be an issue. Even with boots.
@@gystes_ I always run double stride gambits to mitigate that a bit. Also, you can run movement +1 skill and the item that gives you movement. You will never feel like a flier, but you can at least not feel like a turtle.
These videos are the best Three Houses guide I’ve seen
We said Lysithea is good with WARP, not Warrior!
Gawd, Chaz
Is she? Lindhart gets two warps as a priest. Lysithea only gets one as a warlock and gremory
That's why you turn her into a Bishop/Gremory. Warlock gives Lysithea nothing because Black magic and Dark magic are not the same thing
@@icemythic6076 I guess the Renewal is okay, but honestly I never needed it on my first play thru (classic/hard). Gremory gives you the 2X white magic so Bishop for Renewal is just insurance
@@diallo1347 No not for Renewal, White Magic Uses x2 is on the Bishop and Gremory. Gives Lysithea 2 Warps. 1 usually enough, but 2 is very nice.
@@icemythic6076 Fair, but I grind and can skip right to gremory which gives me the 2X white magic since my Lysithea is a dmg dealer primarily. But if you dont grind I can see the point of bishop until you can hit lvl 30 and gremory, but with a little work it's just a waste of time imo
"Armors are my favorite units"
I see you too are a man of culture.
I saw Wt and thought 'Huh, so there's weight, probably doesn't matter much'
Then my Edelgard gets this -3 Weight skill from Emperor class (which is pretty fucking late into the game) and I was like... THAT'S A THING ALL ALONG ?
Omg! Finally my questions has been answered! Thank you! Also, because of you I started playing FEH...so addictive! Great video btw
This lvl 26 Linhardt is faster than my level 35 wtf
Edit: Slight mistake at 2:21, 15-(6-(2)) equals 11. 21 divided by 5 equals around 4. Chaz doing Mangs math over here
Smh i cant believe i messed that up.
I wish youtube still had pop up text.
i added it into the depacito thank you so much for pointing that out!
I was about to comment two very fatal errors, but your description did just that. Very good catch!
Image ever seeing your AS except right as you attack someone
I LOVE YOU CHOOPY!!!!!
It is funny to land crits with Training weapons. So satisfying. 😅 Claude would just fly in and say, "See ya sucker!"
The music that you used in this video is super chill and I absolutely love it. 👌
RIP my light as a feather -10 weight Dedeue :(
I used infinite month glitch to get weight -5 on all my units for the battle of eagle and lion. I routed the entire map. I regret nothing.
This video is incredibly misleading.
You show lysithea using a sword
Budding Talent: am I a joke to you?
@@AkameGaKillfan777 kinda is ngl

I love your videos so much! They’re so informative!
oh my i just found your channel through this video and let me say.. AMAZINGLY informative video!!! very easy to follow and i learned some stuff i didnt know being a fire emblem veteran! thank you very much! 👍 (also your voice and face are very cute, keep up the great work man!!)
Hello chaz sorry I’ve been missing for so long, a lot going on, and I’m still not gonna be around much because of other issues but great video as always and I hope you have a lot of success. I’ll be cheering for you.
thank you Mr. Witch Duck i hope your personal issues work themself out. You have been a great influence on me and the channel! I always appreciate your support.
I've been *weighting* for this explanation video, thanks Chaz!
Dude, your videos are the absolute best
I've seen so many let's plays channels not know about this so by the time they can get Steel weapons and equipment to replace the iron, they find the battles much more difficult because suddenly the enemies are doubling them now.
I'm 50 hours in and I just learned lots from you. thanks!
I've just met this man's' channel and I love him.
Greetings and welcome. Welcom to choosi's house!
