Finished my first playthrough with the Black Eagles at 66 Hours on Normal Classic. Really enjoyed the ride and New Game+ got me so excited that I immediately jumped into my Blue Lions playthrough. New Game+ is perfect for me since I do want to experience all the different stories and if I can save a bit of time then I’m all for it. I wonder if you get something for doing all the routes in 1 save file since that would take a really long time.
You can easily recruit everyone with professor rank A+ coz you have so may activity points to use. I didn't use any renown on support and recruited everyone.
Having loads of activity points early on means Byleth can actually have some decent skill ranks. Without the weekly bonus everyone else gets (even the other teachers get it smh) Byleth ends up being stuck in C rank and without the enlightened one class, would be stuck as an intermediate class without excessive planning. Spamming tutoring let Byleth be a really good holy knight for me in BL playthrough.
@@CosmicToad5000 Ya first playthrough Byleth basically just went mermidon, merc and then waited for enlighten. couldn't class into anything else because you have ZERO time to manage your own skill until post time skip.
That's exactly what I did for Lysithea. She's the girl whom I chose to marry on a whim (I was indecisive), but the moment I saw the S Rank scene, I felt a strong attachment to her. So i went ahead and B rank her one month in so i NEVER have to think about killing her. This girl deserves the best in all her lifetimes and I will hunt down anyone that kills best girl.
@@Zangelin you'd have to do it perfectly to get A+ before the end of the game without fishing. Fishing is the dumbest mechanic because it's so much grinding for so little rank.
@@LtSMASH324 Buy bait each month, then save it for the event "many/planty fish (or something)". You'll fish 3-4 fish each gives you exp. Yes, you'll spend a lot of time irl. But hey, easy professor level.
I understand some people might not like new game plus cause it makes the game easy but, isn't that the point? Its a "new game" plus the some of the features from the previous save file. It's supposed to give you an easier time so you can experience the rest of the routes without getting burned out from grinding professor levels all day or instructing your students for a specific class. If you want to experience the rest of the story the same way you experienced the first route, just make a new save file. But if you want to use new game plus, then use your renown wisely.
Yeah to be fair NG+ is mainly balanced around Lunatic and Infernal modes in mind, as well as streamlining the process to clear the other routes for story.
As if the game wasn't easy enough on Classic already, this game is already super easy before we get the higher difficulties, so I don't see how anyone could think this makes it too easy.
@@CODYoungGunna I don't see how you can think that, as sticking to the campaign actually makes your levels (stats) lower, which would make the campaign slightly more difficult than doing all of the battle quests and paralogues. Which, I did do those, and a couple of them were a bit tough, like Marianne's for example, or Claude's, but ultimately they were beaten without risking the lives of my characters one bit. The toughest Paralogue was Manuela, because you were forced to use Manuela, and she was in her own corner of the map, and she couldn't die, and if you didn't actually use her before that, she was just a glorified Ally unit.
I really enjoy how the NG+ is done here. I was thinking about how I could maximize my professor lvl exp until I noticed that I had 10k renown and could just buy it. It feels great to instruct all almost all the people in your class. I played Golden Dear first and got Felix very late and made him into a pure Sword Crit monster. Now I play as the Blue Lion and decided to make him a Mortal Savant, being able to boost him through Professor lvl and all the money I saved because I did not have to buy anything. There is the case of Lysithia as well, I really like her and will probably use her in all three routes, a thing that I think would not be easy to achieve without this great NG+. I prefer getting rewarded for continued playing over harder fights.
A thing I discovered about recruitment recently ! I'm currently playing Black Eagle route (sided El, because who would side the creepy thot leading the Church), and failed to recruit Lysithea through the first half of the game. When I fought Claude in Deirdre, she was there, I bet her, but instead of being killed I had the choice to make her join my side. I still don't know why, maybe it's because I had the requirements + a C or B support level with her before the timeskip, but didn't recruited her. So there you go, if you miss someone before timeskip there MAY be a way to recruit them.
I decided in my NG+ to make my Felix a Dark Bishop before I class back into Mortal Savant. Nothing says horrifying like Mr Murderface with Lifetaker to help him with his bloodlust.
Teach everyone in flying or healing as thier weekly tasks. They get the 1.5x boost for only one mastery and it is super helpful! Flying will get you the skill that gives around 20 avoid for chosing wait instead of action on a turn. Great for counter attacks :)
I lowkey choose the same house on the second playthrough, i wanted to see who claude ends up with if i have all the female characters at his disposal Fear the Deer!!
@@Powermaster111 When it comes time to kill Claude I'll just start my blue lions run. Sure I don't beat the black eagles path, but at least Claude lives.
@@charlyros You can't get Hilda because the Black Eagle run makes it super hard to get her (really small window to recruit her) and if you go with the Edelgard route, you can't even let her join you (you never return to the spoiler alert academy). Thats for sure if you don't buy her support ranks at the very beginning.
I really like new game +. Having put my blood, sweat, and tears to max my professor level in my first path, it feels rewarding to be able to get it back outright to do things you couldn't at first. Plus it was wonderful to be able to recruit my children quickly after having fallen in love with them in my first playthrough, giving me time to recruit new students I wanted to get to know. Sylvain and Felix joined the black eigles so fast it was funny and finally got Lysinthia to be mine the second time around.
@@vincentabramo7175 You dont get more activity points the day you get a higher professor level, you move on and get the benefits the next time they are avilable.
@@vincentabramo7175 Like for example, the first time I got free time in New Game + I used my renown to buy my level up to A+ but I didnt get 10 activity points on that day. I still had 3 for that day. But the next time I chose explore, I had all the benefits of my A+ professor level.
also if you buy the professor levels back, then you get more money each month from the church and that could help when you play hard classic or soon lunatic classic
Can't wait for lunatic because Hard is a joke. usually hard is more difficult or maybe it isn't and just having so many tools early game makes hard a joke. Or maybe its just my good micro management of training students in the tutoring system and getting physic and rescue and shit like that by chapter 4 lol.
This video just confirmed what I already suspected - that as a newcomer to the series, this was absolutely the best Fire Emblem to start out with. I couldn't put it down. I'm a big Smash fan, and I legit ignored Hero's release to finish my first run. (Black Eagles btw - the hidden path, which I thought was actually the official path) Can't wait to lead the Golden Deer in run #2!
y’all are abusing NG+ to make sure your units don’t die in the war and such. i am just here screaming happily about Claude and Edelgard’s other hairstyle :’^)
I mean I played classic hard my first time around and it's pretty hard to lose people when you have 11 divine pulses at your disposal. The feature is a god sent for me since before that I always played with my personal rule of any death means game over so I restarted levels a whole lot (radiant dawn was hella unfair some times (looking at you elincia's gambit)).
Jesus Guevara I think they mean using renown to buy support for characters from the houses you didn't choose so everyone can be recruited and aren't killed later on in the story.
You actually don’t have to rescan your amiibos in NG+ to unlock the mausoleum. I only scanned them once during my first play through and have had access to the mausoleum (and all of the glittery items) on all subsequent play throughs.
If you played any of the "Tales of" games, the renown system in NG+ is pretty similar to how Grade works, where you can carry over things like Costumes,Items, and Artes. The only difference is that you have to spend your Grade at the start of the NG+ rather then spend it throughout
Jan Marco Perez Batres Renown can be gained by completing side quest and paralogues(also maybe by rare enemy appearances but I don't know because I never did any of them)
Welp, I knew most things that you said before, but I didn't knew for the Holy Tomb ! Nice ! And I think NG+ can be used for at least one thing. Professor level A+ from the get go. I like to have a challenge but this freaking level will be needed once I start a NG+. No more fishing.
Everyone is talking about fishing grinding but have any of you tried just Explore for each week but the last, then spamming vegetable gardening, meals + choir? A professor ranking by chapter 8 ezpz
Everyone is saying how hard it was to get to professor level A+. I just beat my first playthrough yesterday and had A+. I was playing casually and barely did any fishing xD
Starting a Hard mode with a C professor rank is perfect. This is perfect NG+. You keep stats/abilities that let you power up super fast, but you still have to go through the journey.
Why not just start with A+ professor? That way you get 10 AP, 7 instruct points, and 3 battle points? Makes it easier to get levels and you even can get some return on your renown by getting some from auxiliary maps.
@@fishyweeb4820 why not? Because you earn professor points naturally anyways. If you start with C+ or B you'll reach A again by the third or fourth chapter and A+ again soon after. Once max rank all those points you would be earning do nothing. The renown you saved by not getting max professor level right away can then be spent elsewhere. It's not like you need the full amount of time right away at the start of the game.
You can abuse the renown carry-over feature to just stack on tons of renown to literally unlock everything nearly instantly in one play through Just gotta grind out 60+ hour playthroughs like 3 times :^)
@@mr.stuffdoer8483 Not really? It's a joke because playthroughs literally take 50-60, upper limit 80 hours just to complete. The sheer absurdity of trying to exploit renown carry over is so outlandish by that fact, that it's not really worth even considering in reality. The fact that it takes 3 mil renown makes even more absurd than my comment implied.
『Castafiore』 You never once clarified the 60+ from the first comment was hours. Now everything makes more sense. But also once you finish the four story routes it’s kinda easy to just skip through the dialogue which is the bulk of the game.
> Buys professor lvl A+ start of game > Realizes the hell you just unleashed on yourself having to spend 3 aux battles per week while getting a sliver of exp. The price for getting 10 explores and 5 greenhouse slots.
spend it on the battles, they give reknown when completed meaning you’ll earn almost 2x-3x the amount on 1st playthrough, 10 explore are good for spending on faculty training and meals for lectures
Wonderful video! I would like to add that the crests also allows other characters to use the hero relics associated with that crest (e.g. Aegis shield + crest of Fraldrius; Luin + crest of Daphnel).
Beat the black eagles route 2 days ago and I loved it so much. Now I am on chapter 4 with the blue lions and it's going great. Love having my professor level at a+ and having all those crests in my inventory to use on my students.
I like this option and it's very handy. I personally want to play every game fresh as if it was from the beginning, so I didn't personally buy Professor Levels and Support but I like that the option is there should I get really desperate. The one criticism I have is that there is no way to play your original file once you have beaten the game and it's essentially like the older games/Conquest and you can only ever use it if you saved during the last battle or something. Even if the only thing I could do was run around the Monestery, I wish that I could just always have a file for my original playthrough that was actually usable. I'm hoping DLC will allow something like that.
It will depend on what the DLC ends up being. After playing through the Black Eagle path I am really hoping for some extra "after the war" missions. I feel like they left a lot open for this kind of stuff, but I guess I should finish playing through the other routes first.
Oh Sothis, if they do end up doing that... Well, I have mixed feelings. I had just overwritten my GD playthrough... Still, that would be a really great feature to have.
I love this new game+ system. I just hope dlc include a ton of maps and possibly procedural maps and maybe even students for some new mode. That would make the game endless.
Do u know if ur able to get into ur saved file after the new game+ mode? With 4 dlcs coming in the future how will that even work? I just got done playing the game as blue lion house and will be glad to play the other 2 houses with different saved files but I dont want to play the game a fourth time if u have to do a new game for the dlcs lol
Ohh, so that's how the crest items work! I tried using them like statboosters, nothing happened, so i thought that maybe they're consumables like vulneraries and only work for one battle. This makes much more sense!
@@soicanremember i did that by mistake and surprised he won the dance off lol. He's too graceful for a big guy. I reverted him back as my War Master tho
Yea but I didn’t get the chance to recruit Catherine. I chose Edelgard during my first play through. I got the sword after I beat her but it was already the end of the game
@@JeyJin21 if you do a ng+ you can recruit her pretty quickly into the game. I think like chapter 4 or something, that way you can have both Catherine and her thunderbrand if you want.
i want to play every route on normal/classic and a normal new game first, and then use the new game + bonuses to get through that route on hard/classic
I started with professor level C+ so I can use adjuncts and still have something to work for. I still restarted with the Golden Deer but I mostly want to recruit everyone I didn’t recruit during my first play through and do the prologues I missed.
So glad NG+ brings these bonuses and features, I’m currently 64 hours in the Black Eagles route at chapter 16. Glad you can spend renown to increase supports, I’ve grown to love everyone in the Black Eagles and don’t want any of them to die when I choose another house in my next run!
another tip: if you're grinding class mastery but the class is shitty set that unit as an adjustant and have it equip the knowledge gem, every battle gives 4 class mastery, providing you have the saint statue bonus as well. creating a human wall around an archer is a pretty good way of grinding.
Good old Archer abuse. Also has extra benefits if the enemy archer inflicts damage & you have a healer nearby granting them exp, skill points & class points plus support points too I exploited this whenever I could on my first run
@@slam6802 What about for leveling the statues? Buying friendship, skills, and mastery perks from the desk? Or even collecting more points for subsequent playthroughs... Only the statue levels carry over
Don’t forget the fourth playthrough for Black Eagle brunches into to paths. Join Edelgard in her conquest or work with the Church of Seiros and stop Edelgard at all cost. Look it up to make sure you don’t miss it.
@@alpharabbit2353 yeah, the first part of the game for the other houses are relatively the same. The Golden Deer imo has one of the better twists towards the end.
I'm on my second play now and after much deliberation, decided to actually just do NG instead of NG+. After watching your video, I'm happy with my decision, but to each their own. I too wanted to make Byleth my main caster on my second play, but I wanted the challenge of trying to force my way into the class through faculty training, without the help of my past life. I'll probably do the same for my 3rd, going down the cavalry route, because I can't get enough of this damned game.
NG+ is pretty neat. This allowed me to recruit students from the other houses, pretty much all of them. I'm doing the Dimitri route on my third playthrough on Hard Mode Classic. I have more battle points to fight and activities to boost Byleth's skills and have students and faculty mingle with each other more. And the first thing I always do is to buy skill points for Byleth with Spd+2, Death Blow, Lifetaker, and Quick Riposte, and getting to professor A rank works nicely for me. I had about 20k Renown points at the start of my third playthough after my long grind during the Claude route and also the Church route. I am not rushing these days since Dimitri's route fascinates me. I had to use some Renown points to buy the C supports to make things easier to get all students. Stuff like statues carry over, which helps a lot. NG+ made it possible for me to solo the Death Knight with Byleth on my third run in Ch. 4.
Did u know that after byleth turns ultra instinct and if go back the holy tomb where sothis is sitting, it will not be her it will be byleth depending which gender u chosen for ur file
In 4:30 , when my female byleth combine with sothis, and l go to the holy tomb again, instead of sothis sitting on the chair, male byleth is standing in front of me,i don’t know what’s that mean, can someone ans my question, and it is spooky as hell
Nearly 200hrs in. Did all 3 house playthroughs. The renown seems to stockpile so eventually weather you can or can't get Byleth S+ on skills through NG+ you can without having to worry. This also includes abilities from mastering skills for you and staff/students. Which is simply great cause from then onward you can just have playthroughs where you can mix-match class designs without having to worry about some obscure skill from a class that you are dumping points in or worrying about getting that 1 S+ skill. Right now on my 4th playthrough I'm just focusing on unlocking all conversations from male byleth that way I can switch over to female Byleth.
All three Houses, huh? Suppose I should let you know that there is 4 branches of the story. There is a point in the Black Eagle story where you can either join the Empire or the Church.
@@lannobile7260 Yeah the game calls it out. Yet i will end my male byleth playthrough with that optional 4th route. Want to try triangle attack and so on. At least the game isn't taking so long now that I turned off animations and skipping enemy phases.
On my New Game+ I'm making sure nearly all (besides healer focused characters) get Wrath/Vantage, that way I can just simply buy them on my next playthrough. Gotta have everyone roll those 100% crits with a Killer Weapon (Close Counter+Vantage+Wrath Bernadetta as a Sniper/Bow Knight is really deadly, only way to hit her is with +5 range moves like meteor and bolting)
When you killed all the recruitable units in your first play through and New Game+ teases you into recruiting everyone you just gutted. I feel guilty!! 😭😭😭😭
Almost finished with my first playthrough with the Black Eagles. Idk if I want to try a diff house or just go with Black Eagles again since I like their characters the most lol. I only recruited Mercedes and Raphael. Ik I'd be missing out on story if I didnt choose a diff house for NG+. but Black Eagles best house.
little tips: 1: do not buy Professorship to A+ until AFTER you do all the quests on your first day. This saves you 500 renown. 2: You don't have to re-scan your amiibo (if you did this in your original playthrough), the Holy Tomb/the drops are already there. 3: be careful if you want to "marry" someone specifically (I am Blue Lions now, and I was golden deer before so i REALLY wanted HIlda, but she is legit one of the hardest characters to sway over (because she's the ONLY retainer that can switch sides, as Hubert/Dedue does not), so i flat out bought A support which let me skip having to build my charm AND axe. and just build hilda the way i want to. (an unstoppable Wyvern Master) LOL it gets really tempting to want to "buy" everything - but - right now, what I did was really just buy my Hilda Support, everyone else (that i took from golden deer). I had enough Renown by before Chapter 4-5 to finish off my second statue -Now i am saving my renown for seeing if i can get my third statue mostly done, and then again Carry over a LOT of renown. when I do the Black Eagles (times two), this time, I can just buy my professorship, buy skills, and i don't have to worry about anything else. depending on the DLC and whatthe very last path is - i might New Game +x4 and redo the golden deer path (Claude is my favourite), and maybe play on Lunatic or something, with everyone uber buffed up.
What makes Hilda recruit in Blue Lion? I'm playing my second playthrough as Golden Deer so I have an idea of what to expect. Is it the time frame or weapon levels?
@@Porygon2ning HIlda wants high charm and axe. - but again she is one of the hardest ones to get (probably because she IS the retainer. Dedue never budges, Hubert never budges, I know there are people who say that Hilda won't join BE - but i have friends who got her). I didn't even bother with learning charm and axe - I just bought my support levels back for her. If Hilda is anything Like Felix you probably need a B-B+ in Axe, a huge Charm stat (this is one of Byleth's natural growths) and B support.
@@lapniappe I see... Fortunately, Byleth does have a good charm growth rate, but to start the Axe rank from E to B+ is no easy feat considering there is no incentive to do so as far as Byleth's play style revolves around swords and magic unless you plan to turn Byleth into a Warrior to learn Wrath. Huh? So Hilda can be recruited in BE? Church route only or also for Edelgard route? Yeah, I'll just supports via NG+ and renown to recruit her.
@@Porygon2ning i have no idea. really. i'll try to remember to let you know. I got Byleth C on axe (because i wanted her to have death blow.... I SHOULD have her learn warrior next time so i can give her wrath that would be interesting) Last two playthroughs she's beena pegasus knight (and she passed her falcon knight exam this playthrough so i can have her learn that). i love it for her.
Nah, don’t feel evil. I only recruited like 2, then killed all the rest. Now I’m going to do something similar in my next route. 50% of my old house may burn.
I did black eagles the first time, but I kinda want to do them again because I missed the chance to go see Edelgard become emperor. My understanding is that changes the game, based on a choice after that.
Don’t forget the Crest Items also literally implant the crest onto the user, meaning that they can use Hero’s Relic specific to that Credt without the HP drawback! I’m not entirely sure, but I would also assume that said characters also gain access to the specific Combat Art for each weapon. Prolly not though.
I played my first game of fire emblem three houses in a week and now I’m considering doing this. I played the black falcons house so I’ll do the rest of the houses if I feel like it.
If you choose the same house in NG* ( in my case black eagles) are their levels and items reset? I only ask because in the last battle I received thunderbrand from defeating Catherine but was unable to use it so I was just wondering about levels and items transferring in ng+
Leo does renown you spend at your notebook carry over to the future playthroughs in anyway? Either by having a total renown count or by already having unlocks on playthroughs 3 and 4, etc? Thanks!!
I just finished my first route (Crimson Flower) and I am so excited to start a new game on hard. I think I’m going silver snow next. If I understand correctly, Hubert and Edelgard become my enemies. If that’s the case I shouldn’t focus on their progress right?
Hi Spear. Thank you for this video. I just finished my first play through of 3 houses, after spending 80+ long hours of my life on it. I was so disappointed to see that the new game plus file does NOT let me keep every item in my old convoy. That's the one thing I really wanted. Oh well .....
Are you sure that you only have to wear the Crestitems? Because in my Red Eagle Playthrough i had all items equiped from someone most from one who didnt even have normaly a crest and it never was triggered. Than i mentioned that i can use them infight but on every map the use butten was not useable. So i dont know if it is like you say than maybe i hade bad luck in now 30 chapters of gameing like this...
That's awesome, I'll be able to be a mage way sooner, my Byleth basically skipped advanced classes as training spear, reason and riding spread my focus too thin, but on second run I'll finally be able to experiment more.
Can you have more than one game plus? Meaning for example I finished Claude’s story then new game plus on Edelgard and afterwards will there be a third file? Another game plus for dimitri?
Except of course that the game is so easy that new game+ makes it so that you cant even call it an achievement when you win with it. I really hope that that the release of extreme difficulty will make it so that these perks are not just overkill
Yeah, went with the hard difficulty and its easier than some Normal difficulty FE's. Yet I don't ever want a difficulty like Lunatic+, which is super random and you need to restart after 1 mob has like every fcking OP ability at level 2 and oneshots your entire party, existence and will to live.
@@ninthkind What does that have to do with NG+? The game is definitely on the easier side for those of us that have played a lot of other FE games. Though a couple paralogues are still a bit challenging. But if you already find the game easy then I don't understand what the point of complaining about the NG+ bonuses is. It's like complaining if there was an "easy" difficulty.
So as i undestood the creast seals in german the are something nice in NG+ for the hero relicts. e.g. if you cleard the 5th chapter you‘ll recieve the lance for Sylvain. Only sylvain has the possibillity to use the special attack of that waeppon with his creast. But now you can give as an example byleth the creast on top and can use the special attack from the specific weapon. So there a many possibilitys i guess.
I love NG+ in FETH. It's probably the single best feature in the game. Being able to buy back the A+ professor exp and S+ I have in all weapons is amazing.
I actually love this because the way that it works is that it will just keep rewarding you more and more the more times you replay the game. Especially if you focus on unlocking different stat levels and supports during each playthrough.
yea, the only boon of NG+ is less grinding and more story oriented playthrough, by unlocking different support conv with different units. I like it, since it makes the game a breeze, but on the other hand, the battle become almost insignificant, since your most powerful unit just one shot everyone. I am thinking on my next playthrough to make odd class choices for my unit and see if they still stomp the enemies just by being 3-4 levels ahead of them.
Let's say I unlocked all classes for a character in 1 file, then in New Game+ I unlock only 1 with Renown. For the next NG+ file i go thru, would I stil be able to unlock any class with Renown from all the classes I unlocked from the first playthrough, or only the 1 I got back in the 2nd playthrough?
I'm playing the *spoilers* last. I want to bring over my favorite units, so this will help. Sylvain, Ashe, Ingrid, Felix, Marianne, and Lysithea. They're all my favorite units, other than Dimitri and Claude. *secret route
Question between your first game and new game plus can you raise your difficulty for the new game I started in normal and its way to easy and I dont know if I wanna just continue or if I wanna restart so I can keep everything nice in NG+
Technically you can to an extent. All the special rewards must be re-acquired but if you raise up your professor level, you can buy back the good equipment, though it won't help until your units are good enough to use them
I don't understand why we can't keep inventory items. I want my arrow of Indra which is route locked and if I want to play a diff route of then other 2 I can't get it back 🤔
i like the ng+ feature! i'm personally not using it now because i just want to have the full experience eith every house (finished golden deer and doing black eagles now) but after that and blue lions i'll surely use it in some special runs like recruit everyone or strange builds
If we want to beat all three houses, can we carry over the save data AGAIN into a third playthrough? If we already have more than one cleared save when we start NG+ (I have 2 different save files for the 2 routes on Black Eagles), will it let us pick which one we want carried over into NG+? Or is it just the most recently cleared game?
From the why I understand it, you can basically keep chaining together NG+'s forever. So let's say you S rank Swords on playthrough one and Axes on playthrough 2, on playthrough 3 you could then spend renown to S rank swords and/or axes. That is at least what I have seen reported. I also might have slightly misunderstood your question. If you have two separate NG+'s they will each contain only their own benefits unlocked during those playthroughs. They have to be consecutive to keep carrying over.
Does unit appearance also translate to combat? Some units had their casual wear worn during battle if you chose their canonical class (Leonine for example had her post-timeskip attire if you had her classed as a paladin).
@@SuzakuMurkrow198 I was just kind of hoping for the custom outfits to override some of the generic recolored models for the other classes (say Edelgard wearing her emperor duds while class changed to wyvern lord - even if they would have to clip allot of the cloths through the mount)?
Unfortunately I am pretty sure it's only for the intended class paths they gave each unit still, my Dimitri in my BL still has the soldier getup when I have him in the war costume
I think that the new game plus system is very well-thought-out. And I think when the harder difficulties are released it will feel more balanced but as it is I would argue if you're just doing another run on normal difficulty with a different house, it would be very easy to become overpowered
I legit started a new game file for each house. I wanted to beat each path hard/classic without any advantages from New Game +. After I've beaten them all once, though (only Golden Deer left to go!), I'll definitely have some fun with New Game +. And recruiting everybody I want. :)
Do you get bonus renown when you start new game plus, do you start at 0 or whatever renown you had left when you finish the game crosses over? How does it work?
You get to carry over any leftover Renown and you get a bonus stack of Renown as well. One person said you get more bonus Renown if you were on Hard difficulty compared to Normal, but I can't confirm that.
I wouldn't bother playing on NG+ or any new route until they release new difficulties. The current 'hard' difficulty gave me no incentives to min/max my characters or improve my tactics. The only challenge I had was trying to beat the Death Knight on the first encounter, which did not take too long to solve either.
The Sacred Spear sorry if I missed this but does renown carry over?
@@Mrgarypurple it does. You also get 3000 on Normal, 6000 on Hard + whatever you carried over.
Just confirming what Iapniappe said, yes Renown does seem to carry over and you get some extra to play with.

You can easily recruit everyone with professor rank A+ coz you have so may activity points to use. I didn't use any renown on support and recruited everyone.
@@RexZShadow didn't have the rank unlocked sadly, but having so many activity points so early on is such a boon
I have done almost as much fishing in my first playthrough for this game as I have done as Tom Nook's slave in Animal Crossing.

That's right and with the new mode (lunatic) will be harder.
@@ino_mation if you though the game was easy then you must have only stuck to the campaign.
I'm pretty sure that is a thing about the Empire side choice. As far as I know, that does not happen on the church side.
@@Mudar96 Maybe ? After all Lysithea has a thing against crests. Won't spoil it though.
I decided in my NG+ to make my Felix a Dark Bishop before I class back into Mortal Savant. Nothing says horrifying like Mr Murderface with Lifetaker to help him with his bloodlust.
My next NG+ run I’m gonna unlock brawler’s unarmed combat and healing focus and do the entire run with just my fists

It's not like you need the full amount of time right away at the start of the game.

The DLC has maps listed so I'm remaining hopeful for it. The sauna may get a use as well since it's just casually sitting near the training area.
And you can use the weapon without the 10 damage if you have the crest item
And it only took them... how far are we into the series? 16 games!

I'm really happy that they finally implement something like this,
I basically raised my units to like level 40 in the beginning of the 2nd act
In 4:30 , when my female byleth combine with sothis, and l go to the holy tomb again, instead of sothis sitting on the chair, male byleth is standing in front of me,i don’t know what’s that mean, can someone ans my question, and it is spooky as hell
That's really cool! Also thankfully it means I only have to force Mercenary Bernadetta once!
At least the game isn't taking so long now that I turned off animations and skipping enemy phases.

how did you even get that much bait
little tips:
1: do not buy Professorship to A+ until AFTER you do all the quests on your first day.
(an unstoppable Wyvern Master)
LOL it gets really tempting to want to "buy" everything - but - right now, what I did was really just buy my Hilda Support, everyone else (that i took from golden deer).
I didn't even bother with learning charm and axe - I just bought my support levels back for her.

Wow the twist that happened in my story last night is great!
You can access to the Holy Tomb without using any amiibo. I got many special items there too.
im on my fourth playthrough now and never knew about the holy tomb thing...
Leo does renown you spend at your notebook carry over to the future playthroughs in anyway? Either by having a total renown count or by already having unlocks on playthroughs 3 and 4, etc? Thanks!!
As fire emblem veteran I can say, that saga is amazing!!! best character designs, history and osT, perfect!!
That's awesome, I'll be able to be a mage way sooner, my Byleth basically skipped advanced classes as training spear, reason and riding spread my focus too thin, but on second run I'll finally be able to experiment more.
damn new game plus is exactly what i was hoping. bout to finish the game and cant wait to finish the other two stories
Can you have more than one game plus? Meaning for example I finished Claude’s story then new game plus on Edelgard and afterwards will there be a third file? Another game plus for dimitri?
I believe so.
As with most things like this, no one is forcing you to spend the renown. Just start a normal new game.
@@Goomyx1492 My first play is in hard difficulty but it isnt hard at all (if you played a lot of FE games you know the tactics and abuses in battles).
@@Goomyx1492 that ng+ should be a little bit more challenging
So as i undestood the creast seals in german the are something nice in NG+ for the hero relicts.
e.g. if you cleard the 5th chapter you‘ll recieve the lance for Sylvain. Only sylvain has the possibillity to use the special attack of that waeppon with his creast.
But now you can give as an example byleth the creast on top and can use the special attack from the specific weapon.
So there a many possibilitys i guess.
You can use herorelics but people with the wrong crest cant use the special art and people without a crest take 10 damage after combat.
@@nivodeus make an assassin that has high dodge and high crit chance and put him/her on a forest and enjoy enemies suiciding on you
Let's say I unlocked all classes for a character in 1 file, then in New Game+ I unlock only 1 with Renown. For the next NG+ file i go thru, would I stil be able to unlock any class with Renown from all the classes I unlocked from the first playthrough, or only the 1 I got back in the 2nd playthrough?
question. anything I buy with renown if I beat it again do I keep things I got on prior plays????
I'm playing the *spoilers* last. I want to bring over my favorite units, so this will help. Sylvain, Ashe, Ingrid, Felix, Marianne, and Lysithea. They're all my favorite units, other than Dimitri and Claude.
*secret route
Do you have to have online for the amiibos to work? I don’t fully understand that?
Question between your first game and new game plus can you raise your difficulty for the new game I started in normal and its way to easy and I dont know if I wanna just continue or if I wanna restart so I can keep everything nice in NG+
I just wish u can keep your material and weapons
Nope, you cant
Technically you can to an extent. All the special rewards must be re-acquired but if you raise up your professor level, you can buy back the good equipment, though it won't help until your units are good enough to use them
I don't understand why we can't keep inventory items. I want my arrow of Indra which is route locked and if I want to play a diff route of then other 2 I can't get it back 🤔
Raph was a monster for me first play through as a war master. Decided to use him again with quick riposte. Now he’s Arden 2.0.
Ah thanks for the sum up!
i like the ng+ feature! i'm personally not using it now because i just want to have the full experience eith every house (finished golden deer and doing black eagles now) but after that and blue lions i'll surely use it in some special runs like recruit everyone or strange builds
It does if they are the class the game recommends sometimes after instruction such as Leonie being a Cavalier or Archer
That I mean when it's stuff like Leonie's Just like Jeralt recommendation
@@SuzakuMurkrow198 I was just kind of hoping for the custom outfits to override some of the generic recolored models for the other classes (say Edelgard wearing her emperor duds while class changed to wyvern lord - even if they would have to clip allot of the cloths through the mount)?
Unfortunately I am pretty sure it's only for the intended class paths they gave each unit still, my Dimitri in my BL still has the soldier getup when I have him in the war costume
I've done 2 playthroughs and started my 3rd all on hard classic but it feels I bit like cheating is anyone else feeling like that?
I did blue lions normal classic in 38 minutes or so and I’m doing ng+ on golden deer hard classic.
How do you get access to the crests you already have? I don’t have them in my inventory or storehouse
Sweet ! Thanks for the info!
I think that the new game plus system is very well-thought-out. And I think when the harder difficulties are released it will feel more balanced but as it is I would argue if you're just doing another run on normal difficulty with a different house, it would be very easy to become overpowered
I do not think it will be worthwhile to go for a Normal run after playing the first on Hard classic
Should I have NG+ for black eagles? I started with blue lions
@@TheSacredSpear thank you and what about items or gold?
I wouldn't bother playing on NG+ or any new route until they release new difficulties. The current 'hard' difficulty gave me no incentives to min/max my characters or improve my tactics. The only challenge I had was trying to beat the Death Knight on the first encounter, which did not take too long to solve either.
