I love this bottle. It reminds me of a bonfire on the beach, poached pears, marshmallow, a dash of sea salt, and a drizzle of honey. It's lovely for a Highland Peated Scotch
Peter, I like the ad version but I love the cask strength version. The CS sure doesn't drink like 58% abv which makes it dangerous. I understand prices differ by region but I can get the ad for $50 and the CS for $70. Thus its an easy choice to buy the CS. Plus I brought the Rum and Sherry cask finished bottles. I am trying to buy back up bottles of these but they are hard to find.
I think the price difference between the two in my area is worth spending to get the cask strength. I'm going to keep my eye out for the Sherry Cask and the rum finished bottles. It took a while for the cask strength to show up in my area, so I will imagine any other offerings by them will take a while to show up as well
That's too bad it didn't hit the mark for you Peter. I have this bottle and it's down to halfway and it's been really good tbh. I also managed to get the CS version recently, yet to open and try. Maybe age stated releases will be a true telltale for Ardnamurchan distillery.
It was good, but I prefer the CS versions over this one and they aren't that different in price so I'm going to stick with the cask strength. I actually saw the standard AD release at total wine at a reduced price around $50. Still going to skip it.
Oh, what a shame you're not a fan of this release. This is probably my favorite scotch under 10 yrs old. I also have a cask strength sherry single cask from them that I picked up at the distillery last month. Love everything they release.
I'm not sure about the burnt crab apple and pumpkin seeds your talking about, but I'm skipping the AD. It's actually interesting to add a few drops of this to a dram of the CS

I like it as well, but will be getting the AD Cask Strength releases going forward.
Try the sherry cask. Incredible!
I will keep an eye out for one. Cheers!

Great review Peter, I totally agree. It does benefit from a few drops of water and is a decent summer peated sipper but this is a skip for me as well.
Thank you Kevin. Cheers!

It's good. I just don't reach for it when the CS is sitting on my shelf.
This a a good one to keep an eye on- founded 2014, off to an excellent start. I’ve had 4 of them now, the cask strength is very good. Slàinte 🥃🏴
Definitely keeping an eye on this one. Slàinte
We will see how the CS version competes against the other samples this weekend!
Yes! I can't wait to hear how it went. I'm excited!!!!

Crab apple and pumpkin seeds? I'm not getting those notes. Was this comment meant for me?
Really enjoy your content!!
Thank you! I appreciate that. Cheers!
