That's a lovely one, got myself a bottle here in Sweden. I paid 695sek (£48) in todays currency. I have a few others at home and currently I'm waiting for the 2023 Cask Strength to arrive to me. So far I've never been disappointed with Ardnamurchan 🍷cheers

Likewise, I've only tried a few but all have been spot-on! Hope you enjoy the CS!

It's pronounced without the 'h' Crumby. You should have asked them at the distillery! I have a bottle of the AD/Cask Strength @58.1% abv and its superb. As you say, they are a very young distillery (2014, with their first batch released in 2020) Even so, they are producing some quite brilliant single malts, with everything they produce being 46%+, natrual coloured, non chill-filtered. I expect to see even better things coming from these guys over the next decade+beyond. They are definitely a distillery to keep an eye on for everything they release.

It occurred to me about two miles after I left the distillery that I should've asked! So it's Ard-na-mur-can? If so, that's how I wanted to say it so assumed I was wrong! Yeah I'm looking forward to seeing what they do in the future, so far its fantastic!

@@TheCrumbyBeard Yes Crumby thats basically right. there is a slight dragging on the "C" if we were being pinniky (if you were Welsh, you would get it), but ending it with "can" is better than "chan". (if you know what I mean!) Bluummen eck its hard to put sounds into words sometimes!😀

Hey Tom, you refer to this as a coastal whisky. Was that just because it's geographically on the coast, or is coastal a type (style) of scotch? I'm not really a scotch man, so I plead ignorant. Yes, I could have just gone to Wikipedia, but where's the fun in that? And what other style is it similar to...

Yeah, so the actual Scotch Whisky Regions are split up in chunks of the country - with some argument on some wether they're truly their own or a sub-set of another, but in the term coastal is literally just within a few miles of the coastline. Typically all island distilleries would be considered coastal by default, so its rarely mentioned with those. But for mainland distilleries there is a distinct salinity caused by the sea air in many that are on the coastline compared to those that are inland. Cheers!

Soft "Ch" sound (like your building up saliva in your mouth to spur) like I. Welsh, Scottish Gaelic or German even. Not like an English "K" or a "Ch" as in cheese !!
The Ardnamurchen AD is a super dram. The Sherry cask offering from the is a fantastic whisky if you spot it anywhere !!

The "K" sound is what I always used before this, but I have prior form in assuming the wrong pronunciation so I assumed I must be wrong and changed it! It'll be corrected next time! Also, I will absolutely keep an eye out for that Sherry cask, it sounds superb! Cheers!

You should enter into wine tasting as well. Honest people needed there, not the gay snobs.

I haven’t watched enough wine content to really comment but I certainly do love a full bodied “old world” red so it may happen one day! Cheers!
