I've been using monthly lenses for years with no issues. Dailies are about 3x more expensive compared to monthly lenses. Just clean thoroughly and don't be cheap with the solution.
that’s so great
But you're saving money in the long run without buying solution and potentially saving eye dr visit copays, etc.
@@risabug7772 Nope, just do the math yourself. Exam cost is the same whether you have dailies or monthly contacts. Using Costco online as an example. The cheapest basic Acuvue dailies (Acuvue Moist) cost about $114 for a 3 month supply (2 boxes of 90). The Acuvue monthly Vita's cost $49 for a 3 month supply. The cost of solution is about $16 for three months. Total cost dailies for 3 months is $114 and total cost monthlies for 3 months is $65. If you want premium dailies the cost is about $89 for a 90 pack so that's about $180 for a 3 month supply.
@@risabug7772 If you're referring to the copay for the dr visit for a potential eye infection. Keep in mind that you are still putting your fingers in your eyes with dailies so the risk of infection is decreased but it's not eliminated. You will have to wash your hands regardless of using dailies or monthlies. I got an eye infection many years ago when I was wearing glasses. So even if you wear glasses you can still get an eye infection.
I wear my dailies for weeks at a time to save money and the last pair I wore for 6 months before they ripped 😂 I never took them out
If you know how to clean the case and lenses, and don't sleep with them in, monthly contacts will work as intended.
Exactly. It's the person's hygiene that will determine what happens.
@@msparkz770I am using purevision 2hd monthly disposable contacts . It's too comfortable in first 2 weeks but in last two weeks I am not able to wear it comfortably. 😢
The cases literally say to only clean them with solution.
@@SulemanKindleso not with soap?
@@franky_2024 you’re not supposed to use water on them because water has microbes. Soap can also cause the plastic to break down, but to each their own.
I used to wear yearly contacts. Did that for 20 years before getting laser surgery. My eyes were fine. Dear society, Don’t go full OCD on everything please
🫡
Am wearing yearlies too and doing just fine.
goodday
i see youve done lasering
how did it go ?
are you happy with the result ?
and is it really just 1 time procedure and you will see good for the rest of your life ?
@@010les yes. It went well. My eyes felt like it was in a chlorinated pool for the day but then it was normal. Put eye drops for a few days and that's that. It can feel weird when they do the procedure but my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.
As with all people getting older, once you are in your forties you'l need reading glasses which is normal.
I clean and scrub my eye cases after EVERY use. I use more solution than most but that keeps them veryyyy clean. Been doing this for 15+ yrs and no issues. Eyes are always healthy, and i get yearly checkups
I wear the same contacts for months doing so for years ZERO ISSUES! Properly clean them once a wk

How to clean

@@fictionalworldgyan use the proper cleaning solution sold almost everywhere take out of eyes place in solution rub around some between finger and thumb getting any residue off let soak over night then good for another wk. Ez pz
People in the comments are nasty. Also he starts with dailkes being more expensive. Yall bragging about wearing them for months. All kinds of issues are going to be directly linked to your protein packed, small tear ridden, monthly contacts.
I have wearing monthly contacts for over 30 years, no issues, they are part of my life. I wear a pair of contacts even for up to 3 month, the thing is, I DON'T sleep wearing them.
I have such a bad astigmatism that my prescription is not made in daily’s 😢😢
We know the feeling….
I don't have severe astigmatism but I learned today most companies that make them don't make s specific sizes but generic sizes. So I really need 175 but the companies will make only 170 or 180.
it rly isnt that gross because you can clean the contact lense case
Just adding in too :) ~
They also need to be replaced every so often, I think every 3 months is what’s advised. There’s thankfully travel size solutions with a included contact lens case.* As a duo combo in pharmacies. So this also helps. Manually cleaning the contacts in your clean palms, also helps (as well as soaking in solution in clean air spaces), if having biweekly and/or monthly’s. As much hygienic it’s being, though it is more cost effective, it really differs from dailies that are disposable but it’s great to fit each person’s budget (definitely). Since glasses and/or contact lenses in general, are double expenses & it is expensive! 💯💯💯 People definitely should do what best works for them.
Solution is disinfecting. And even if something is “dirty” so? Are we getting sick? If not what’s the problem?
You're not getting sick because your immunity levels are high. If your immunity levels drop, you can very easily catch an infection
I use one day contact lenses for 4 years now
Ur intelligent 🤓then
It is more expensive but it is the most hygienic. Especially great if wearing makeup, is what’s said & it’s true. For more daily + reasonable priced lenses, it does make sense to use either biweekly or monthly’s & preferably use as followed for best results (many don’t but as best as they can at minimum). 😂😅 • For ones with astigmatism too, it is best to use what’ll be best for their eyes (dailies or biweekly I feel but it’s really any of which that works).
@@StephanieRZ In the uk daily contacts cost £34 for 3 months so £11.33 a month so that’s £0.40 a day but the monthly iv seen cost £48 for 3 months so £0.57 a day
My lenses are 3 months old. I change the case every month and scrub them daily. They don’t have protein build up because I take care of my stuff. Haven’t had any eye health issues either. Not sure what everyone’s problem is keeping the things that go in your eyes clean.
Are they yearly disposable lenses?
I clean my case every day after I take them out and put new solution in the cases everyday. My eyes are so important.
Smart move!
Its called washing out your contact case with clean hands and the solution by rubbing the inside of the case and then letting them air dry upside down on a clean paper towel
smart - love this process. more people should do this.
Clean the case and the lens
I was on my last pair of monthly lenses, and I’ve used them for 5 months (when they were meant for 1 month only), do I recommend going over 1 month? No. However I had no issues. Wash your hands really good before taking them out and putting them in, also change the solution every time!
woah! Glad it worked out!
they are disinfected, the bacteria does build up after a month due to protien deposited however this is prevented by replacing every month, but if you follow the contact care correctly the contacts will be sterile
What about yearlies?
Here's an idea, what happens if we clean the case?
Smart
Bro you can just clean the case it’s not disgusting if it is for you just get an hydrogen peroxide cleaning kit
I clean out the case and put the solution in everyday as the doctor said so. And I also clean my month Lenses with a lens cleaner bruv.
I only use contact lenses for swimming or any water activities. So I prefer dailies and I know the hassle of taking care of the monthly ones. If you using contact lenses daily in your life, price might be a big factor.Probably expensive in America but where I’m from the dailies are fairly cheap.
You're not supposed to use contacts when swimming or showering.
@@DaMaG3d-G00d5goggles
You risk serious eye infections. Look up Pseudomonas aeruginosa
all you gotta do is clean the case and properly clean the leans and don’t re use solution and don’t cheep out in eye contacts solution (opti free or bio true are recommended) but if you are afraid of cleanliness just get clear care plus it cleans it really thorough if you are afraid of cleanliness issues and you can swap the lease case at the end of the month if you don’t feel comfortable using the case for 3months and done sleep with your eye contacts in and you should be pretty much safe
I switches to dailies 6 yrs ago and never regretted it. I used to buy the monthly from 1800 contacts for $150 now I I use dailies and love them. I buy a 3 month supply for $300.
🚀👀🤌🏽
I got the daily ones because I only wear my contacts occasionally. I feel way more comfortable with glasses but when there’s an event I wear my contacts. They may be more expensive but they last me months since I don’t use them often
🫡
That’s the end of the day most eye doctors recommend dailies for new people just because you don’t have to worry about cleaning them and cleaning them properly and making sure that you actually get them nice and clean instead, you can just pop them out and throw them away you’re trying to save money and if you think you can clean it properly every day and just get the money please but if you want like a safer option might cost more money then yeah I get the dailies
Nailed it!
I think thats why you see a doctor yearly. Just wash them and lut them in a solution. I have been using for 30 yeqrs. Daily, extended, monthly. No issue.
People in the comments are nasty. Also he starts with dailkes being more expensive. Yall bragging about wearing them for months. All kinds of issues are going to be directly linked to your protein packed, small tear ridden, monthly contacts.

I can't swap out monthlies biweekly. Maybe swapping my case biweekly would help. I've managed to avoid any eye infections in over 2 decades using monthlies, though, so i think I'm good
I use monthly but I use a solution that has hydrogen peroxide the red cap bottles and it disinfects my contacts really good, love it and never had a problem with them

My eye doctor didn’t offer me weekly’s or monthly’s. I was forced to get daily’s 💀

These are some sheltered individuals.
At the beginning of the day you clean your hands and clean the lenses... at the end of the day clean the lenses case and hands festering what stuff if youre cleaning them dailyn
Bro I been wearing contacts for since last summer and they are monthly literally last me more than that it’s how you take care of them and constantly disinfect and clean them the case and everything every day. It’s possible trust and my eyes are good!
Totally true! Just sharing what our eye doctor friend shared with us.. .but yes.. totally comes down to how you clean them.
I have a cleaning solution with protein removal. It disinfects the lenses and removes any buildup protein, a much better alternative if you ask me
Link it!
I had almost 2 years with my 1 month Air optix colored lenses. Yes you heard right, same pair I've had for almost 2 years now. Just barely did i Decided to get rid of them about a week ago. Getting new one's next week.
That's amazing!!
Not smart.
And now you’ve got new ones can you tell the difference?
Never had contacts so I’m clueless, wondering what’s best
I wore my last monthlys for 4 yrs. I can't afford contacts like that so I've been walking around completely blind for 2yrs now
brutal
the bacteria, fungi, viruses and prions that everyone is worried about CAN live in balanced saltwater. To create an unbalanced solution, heat your water, add canning salt which doesn't have the additives of table salt. 100 grams of water will dissolve 36 grams of salt at room temperature-- heat the water dissolve 40 or more grams, now you're unbalanced. clean and rinse all of your equipment (case, solution bottles, tools) and then go back to your normal contact-care routine.
I dig it!
I'm very thankful to have perfect vision. Glasses,or contacts would be hell. My dad's Glasses cost him hundreds of dollars.
#blessed
If you use antibacterial solution properly, and cleanse your case with solution like the directions state, you shouldn’t be having issues with them.
Facts. You must be thorough though.
I’ve been wearing monthly contact lenses since I was 13. 28 now, no problems at all. People often don’t wait the specified time it takes to disinfect contact’s lenses and don’t regularly clean/change their lens case. Every time you switch your lenses you also have to switch to a brand new case. Also a vast majority of people don’t rub off the protein build up on their contacts.
pro tip!
I get dailies 90 ct per eye. I paid 135. But i sleep in my contacts and i don't change my dailies daily either. Normally every 3 days
Just get biweekly or monthly lenses ffs, when you get one ulcer or eye infection it’s gonna cost 2x more than what dailies would for a year, the second that happens
Truth!
I use a mix of glasses and dailies. For work or when I'm home I just wear glasses. When I go out or there is an event or travel abroad i use dailies.
Yes ! I hate lenses it bothers me I don’t even wear them at home unless I’m leaving
Lol rinse scrub ur damn case iv had mines for years a few of them and they r fine rinse them clean them wash them w soap let them dry .
Smart move - not enough people do this.
One time when i was younger, i was drinking and a contact fell out of my eye. I immediately picked it back up and shoved it back in my eye. Realized after it was next to the cat litter.
My eye ended up getting badly infected, and i needed surgery.
Fun times.
ouch!
Monthlys = disgusting. Even though you cant afford it.
they sure can be!
Use the hydrogen peroxide system for monthlies. They are disinfected every single night
Bs. Just Clean Them properly No Problem at all
Simply not true, I’ve been using monthly for years and never once had a problem.
Edit: I just realized this comment sounds wrong I mean I’ve used monthly for the time they’re supposed to be used for years. Not the same monthly contact for years.
Lucky Duck
Question people...I am pretty new to daily contacts,i do not need or use them every day. Sometimes i go weeks without using them because once i open a daily contact it starts the clock on throwing them away by the end of the day so i try to space out my usage.. so,after a few weeks of daily use my eyes finally became adjusted to them, but if i stop using them for days or weeks, does that mean i have to 're-set' my brain to use them as i did when i first started? The doctor told me it takes a while for your eyes/brain to adjust to looking through a contact, but what happens if u stop using them for 2 weeks at a time and then put them back in....anyone?
IT should just take a few minutes to adjust. Anyone else want to chime in?
Only time I ever have issues is when my prescription changes. Then it’s a solid few days of blurry vision until I adjust to the new Rx. Other than that. I’ve gone weeks without and then use them with no issue or readjusting. Just that initial first few days to a week of blurry bs seems to be it for me.
Ok thank you!
I use daily’s the best swap
Truth!!
Yanno they have a technique to remove contacts without putting your fingers in your eye? You use the upper and lower eye lid to practically “pry” the contact from the surface of your eye… been using this method for years

@@StartuptoStorefront Nice! Thanks!

That works!
shitty „advice“ buying dalies is so expensive in the long term that it would be better to just get eye laser surgery (in Thailand, Turkey, Mexico, Tzech Republic etc you can get it done for only about 2000€ ) and the you’ll never have to buy glasses or special sunglasses + contacts again
Not a bad idea
Or just wear glasses then only wear contacts special occasions with dailys
That’s what I do too, only wear contacts once or twice a week max or for special occasions.
Otherwise I’m wearing glasses, which allows me to have daily’s contacts which I only purchase a pack of 30 every 3 months . Much cheaper this way
If you get hydrogen peroxide solution, it actually cleans your contacts unlike most solutions. Long as you have that, you're good to go for at minimum 2 weeks, likely closer to 3/4.
I’m lazy so I just buy daily’s
A much better option!
Your eyes, being constantly exposed to the environment, actually have many protective measures against infection. What are they? Fuck I forgot, I passed Micro with a B+ isn’t that good enough

At that point get lasik surgery..
