an old drunk lady told my parents during their 2017 anniversary dinner "your son..? daughter...? child?? I dont know but sh...he? is very adorable and I want to take them home" and I hope she is living her best life. that old lady introduced me to confusion euphoria and awakened the gender in me

I feel so validated!!! I wear poet blouses and pretty clothes more than almost anything and I rarely see them considered as androgynous from other enbies. Androgyny for AFAB folk is generally seen as "masc lite", meaning skinny, short hair, and typical "boy's" clothes. This type of androgyny is great and I love it, it's just unfortunate to see other types be invalidated.
Of course, androgyny need not be the goal, but androgyny is literally a mix of "masc" and "fem" aspects and it's annoying to see androgyny that focuses more on pretty things be considered too feminine to be "true" androgyny. I've been told that since I like pretty clothes I'm not "enby enough" and it's just nice to have some validation for once lol

Man when stores claim clothes are unisex , for the most part I think they look too masculine or too feminine , nowhere near true unisex:/ I got around this by wearing latex clothing, it comes in hundreds of colors and styles.

I really wish I could pull off the androgynous look better. Like a slightly feminine androgyny.
I feel like I’m currently way too wide and curvy, and I feel like whenever I try to look androgynous, I just end up looking fatter or sloppy since androgynous clothes don’t really come in my size without some serious searching. It’s a bummer sometimes.
But I’m working on losing weight, and I’m considering getting a custom binder for my large chest. Hopefully someday I’ll be able to pull off the look I really want. Here’s to hoping.
Until then, I’ll just stick with my usual t-shirt and jeans with maybe a flannel button-up layered on top for added visual interest. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

yay the algorithm blessed me, and its so true goblincore is immensely androgynous and I'm pretty sure its because its reminiscent of the feel of a lot of childhood clothing that any kid can use, like overalls, chunky sweaters, boot-cut jeans and the "Sunday-school collared shirt and pleated bottoms that is most likely going to have to go into the wash immediately by the end of the day because of all the grass stains and mud because kids will be kids" situation :)

  • @devilmethewitch2024

I get the pirate shirt thing! I think it could be that they're traditionally men's shirts and being puffy at the shoulders make them look bigger which is masculine I guess but have more frills and which are considered feminine by modern day standards?
I feel like my enby ideal self would probably be somewhat emo/punk goth with super ancient male fashion (or go down the anime route of fashion). The emo/goth is kind of like a subculture and many components they include like black lipstick or nail polish and many others can be androgynous (also coincidentally kind of vampire-ish?), and historical European men's fashion included a lot more elements like flowy fabric or decorations modernly considered feminine (I'm realizing that can also scream vampire because that's ancient) and I like the hats.
I also do a lot of print/floral shirts, dressy pants helpful, or some kind of flared(boot cut) or reaaaally wide legged pants or asymetrical skirts, and layers are my best friend. I'm definitely still working on fashion and stuff, and I'm looking forward to the day where people are confused by my gender. I can feel some of your tips calling out to me and I'll definitely try them! But there are also days where I'm lazy and like screw fashion I'm just going to pull out random stuff from my wardrobe and call it a day.

Okay so I'm not sure whether or not I'm an enby, but I feel extremely happy when I'm androgynous. Like I don't get dysphoria from skirts or anything and I wear them semi frequently, but my usual look is more androgynous. And the number one thing that gives me I guess what you would call general euphoria(?) Is broad shoulders. I picked up sports and weight lifting and put on some muscle (not as much as I would have liked, but some) and seeing how my shoulders have gotten so wide makes me really happy. My biceps to an extent too, and how my face has gotten boxier, but they're not as impressive lol.

@@honeypot9867 omg yes thank you for asking! I identify as ftm. I'm way less athletic now, lol 😅 but I'm trying to get back into it, and transition is one of the things motivating me. But I'm actually living in a male dorm at my college. I've been wanting to do voice training for a while and honestly was kind of lazy, but I've been pretty consistent about it this last week. I think it's because I'm introducing myself as a man, rather than reintroducing myself to people who knew me as a girl. I still don't pass (I know you can be trans and not want to pass, but I personally want to.) I talked to a doctor about hormones, but I don't have imminent plans (in PA you need a therapist's approval, and with the chaos of graduation, then a big trip, then moving and starting school, I was not prepared to start seeing a therapist. Hi!
First of all, great video, thank you so much for uploading it.
I think there are many people (like me) who want to get inspired in so many different ways and directions to find our own style. You, sharing so much of yours and how you view them in the context of gender expression, is a very good inspiration for that!
Second, I would like to share a personal experience:
    0:10 - 0:31
See? This is why the enby community is so great.
I struggle finding my gender identity. I don't identify purely as a woman, but I'm not sure what that means yet. I guess I'm probably genderfluid, but it might as well be demi-something or agender, bigender, trigender - I don't even know.
Other people may say things that are either not at all sympathetic or straight up rude.
The enby community is mostly just like "You are welcome as one of us :) Take the label and keep it for as long as you're comfortable with it. Remeber you are valid on every step on your journey."
This is so very, very great and helpful.
I hope everyone of you feels that welcome and accepted.
And one little message to everyone, because sometimes people need to hear it:
Remember to drink lots of water, get the sleep you need and be kind to yourself.
You are valid and inspiring ^_^
    Have a nice day ~

I've been finding it really hard to find anything that's long that looks androgynous so I'm very happy that I found some things I feel like short sleeve stuff is so easy to make look androgynous but I will have SH problem so short things sadly aren't a option for me

Maybe this might not be helpful, But I love the look of a long sleeve under a short sleeve. Like a white long sleeve under a black band tee.

I love fashion and skirts and dresses and that's mostly what I wear and also because it's more comfortable for me but I hate that that makes people think I'm a girl like if an amab boy/ enby wore a dress no one would say they're a girl 😭

Since you love snails so much, most if not all snails have no gender! They can reproduce with any other snail and are considered non-binary. I have a gold Inca snail and I love correcting people on their pronouns lol

I got mine off of Amazon (ik not the best place) I don’t remember the name but it is one of the first results when you look up binders. There are tons of small businesses that sell binders on Etsy as well !!

I'm a female very confused at half twelve am. I just don't know if I'm non binary or not - I've never really thought about my gender before. For anyone who falls under the non binary spectrum, how and when did you know?

For me, I had serious dysphoria towards my own body, and those feelings never went away. I hated my chest, my genitals, my period and pregnancy in general, though I knew those were normal things in most AFAB women. I loved hyper feminine things, aesthetics and characters, but I never felt like those things correlated with my identity, if that makes sense. It felt wrong and out of place when I wore feminine clothing or presented myself that way, even though it looked so natural on other women. I desperately wanted to be more masculine, to bind my chest, to stop my periods, and have the world perceive me as more masculine, but I don’t identify as a trans binary man and certainly not a woman, so I decided that non-binary was the best label for me. To this day, I still struggle with my identity and I’m closeted from my family.
Of course, this was just my experience and yours could be completely different. You don’t have to have serious dysphoria to be valid, and you don’t have to look a certain way to be an enby. At the end of the day, it just comes down to how you feel on the inside. With stereotypes and societal expectations aside, what do YOU feel like you are? Wanting to be more masculine doesn’t necessarily make you genderqueer. You can still identify as a woman and be androgynous, you could be a trans man, it’s up to you. Take your time to figure it out. :)) no need to rush with labels.
I suggest you experiment with things such as pronouns, gender expression, and names. You can ask your friends to call you by a gender neutral name or a different set of pronouns (they/them, he/they, etc) to see if you feel like they fit you.

When I first heard about non-binary being a thing, I felt kinda jealous, but I was in denial of being enby myself. Eventually I started looking up different non-binary identities, and I discovered the term "demigirl" which means only partially identifying as female, and I knew it fit me as I never felt super feminine, but still kinda feminine.

I got gender euphoria because I was drunk and talking my normal amount on the train and there was this old couple were sitting across the aisle and I heard the man say to his (presumably) wife "fucking hell be talks more than a woman" in hushed tones. I laughed a lot.
