Lately I’ve found that attempting to (subtly) dress like a pirate is a perfect way to put together a whimsical, androgynous look. Your howl-inspired look captures the same vibes! :)
As a trans non-binary person this makes me so happy. Most of androgynous/gender neutral outfits we see are just black/neutral colors and they are not bad outfits, they are just not what I want to wear. I like color and playing with styles and this video brought me so much joy and new ideas! Thank you so much!💜
As a femme bisexual, I absolutely love layering a masculine piece with a feminine one - black leather jacket over a floral swing dress, combat boots with a sundress - and I like 50s fashion but hate 50s values, so switching it up in some way helps me feel like I'm not advertising backwards thinking lol
I love the thought of gender neutral clothes my mom love to say "Why are you wearing that? boys wear that?" When I'm literally just wearing baggy jogging pants with a t-shirt 😂 to her girl clothes are tight, girly colors or short
i'm non binary and one of the most gender affirming things that i do when i get dressed is wearing a skirt that goes to my feet and an oversized boxy sweater, t shirt or button up. it makes my figure look pretty androgynous and it's so comfy! i'm also a goth and this silhouette was very very popular in the subculture of the 80s. pants most of the time make me feel dysphoric because they show my figure in ways that i don't like on me. to whoever is reading my comment: you do you my friend, androgyny is whatever you want it to be!
@@beepwrld thank you for listening! you did a great job with this video and i'm so excited to see the next! your style is very inclusive and i'm sure that many people loved your perspective on gender neutral style
Yessss I'm nb too and also go for really long skirts a lot - I wear a button up like a jacket over a t-shirt with it for the flowiest look. I also made my own external pockets because none of my skirts have pockets
@@beepwrld if you do a part two I'd love to see what some more androgynous looks you'd wear to a formal event! I have no problem with androgyny in my day to day wear but any time I get ready for an event I get stuck!!
What a bi icon! ✨ Also absolutely LOVE your boyfriend's jacket and I loved your reminder that men can and should check the women's section too bc I usually hear about the other way round!! Totally agree there doesn't need to be gender to clothing at all x
HOWL!!!!! I'm transmasculine nonbinary and this is my favourite video yet 🥰 and thanks for the perspective on 'gendering' clothes, it's so true- would love to see -styling ties - styling skirts in an 'androgynous' way
I hope someday that skirts are considered a gender neutral piece of clothing, because they are so comfortable and breezy! But really, everything should be considered gender neutral, but societal standards I guess.... Your frog and toad outfit SLAPS! I remember seeing it in another video and it's just so nostalgic and perfect. I loved all the outfits and color combos. Great video!!
Little British School Boy was my favorite look. I really need to find a good blazer. Also thank you for all the vibe descriptions. They're so creative and specific and it always reminds me how powerful fashion can be. I want to be a magical prince. I feel bad for people who think it's shallow.
I feel like I can't dress anything but feminine considering I'm a very curvy-bodied person, but I still loved this video and bestie you looked SO attractive in the Howl inspired fit! 🙌
Im curvy too and I don't like to hide my curves because I grew up with the idea that seeing you "boxy" was a bad thing. I am also tall and wide if I wear loose clothes I don't look pretty, and I have that thought that loose and baggy clothes are for thin people because if they wear loose clothes they still look thin yk? But it is something that is conditioned by society
Little British schoolboy vibes ‘fit was SO GOOD ON YOU!! Also, it seems like you feel really cool and confident in these looks and that makes me very happy!!!! Lovely job, my friend
Super cool outfits! I personally am a gender-abolitionist. But I acknowledge that some people have a very strong experience of gender and I never go against their wishes of using certain pronouns. Since I believe gender is not needed in a developed society, I also believe that all clothing is gender-neutral. In my teen years I used to dress very masculine to go against the gender stereotypes that were pushed on me because of my sex. Now I truly embrace the genderlessness of clothing and started to dress myself with skirts and dresses again. I am discovering fashion all over again. I love having all clothing available to play with.
Love. I'm finding my style is masculine (yang energy) in texture and silhouette with feminine (yin energy) with little details and a relaxed feel. And I'm a girl who definitely shops in the men's section. This video gave me more inspiration. Thank you!
ur a fashion GENIUS... the skater boy with the big frilly collar??? LITTLE LAD VIBES. the fits are all rlly ggod and inspiring as usual! On gender & fashion, especially, on very feminine-coded (at least in the modern western world) items such as skirts: one thing that i do when i wanna wear a skirt is make it the only "feminine" thing about my fit. Like yes i have a skirt, but also have a tie and a big baggy men's button up. at the end of the day, fashion varies so much in place and time and so do our gendered view of it... it's all just pieces of clothing anyone can rock and look cool in. Thanks for providing the actual definition of androgynous, i realised i've had very "gender-full" styling recently, maybe that's also why your videos are a big inspo!
Hi! I have lot of things to say. First of all, ever since bestdressed left UA-cam, I have CRAVED a good fashion channel and none of the ones I found fit my style, but then I found your channel and now all my needs are met. Also, this is random but you have very cat like energy, you're super chill and funny and I am there for it. Lastly, I would love it if you made a hairdo tutorial! Like, all the hairs for all the occasions
I'm the blue jeans and tshirt 60 year old woman but I also love a multi colored boho style with sandals and long earrings. I wear what makes me happy which changes from day to day sometimes hour to hour 😊
Loved this and all of the outfits you came up with!! 😊❤️ I just recently thrifted a few pieces of “women’s” clothing for my partner’s spring/summer wardrobe, and he loves them! 😊 We both love including “men’s” and “women’s” clothing in our wardrobes; it really does provide so much more personalization and style potential! 👌👌😊
This is my favorite video and the most practical one for me! Would love to see more in the future! One thing that makes my outfit gender-neutral is making sure everything I wear is comfortable (not too tight, not too short, and often tops are not tucked in)
Thank you for the inspiration once more! You find such unexpected combinations that help me break through my established forms to combine items. All the best from Germany!
omg this is so perfect, tysm for making this video it's exactly what i was looking for also OMG I LOVE THAT MUSHROOM TEE SO MUCH THAT'S LIKE EXACTLY MY VIBE
omg I love the howl fit and the sporty fit at the end, they're so cute!! As for my own style, I really like blending masculine silhouettes with feminine colors and details, I think it's super fun. The looks in this video have definitely given me some great inspo! :)
The howl look slapped me silly! So good! I also loved the shorts with blazer look at the end! I was really skeptical when you put in the blazer at first, but with the hat, bag, and necklaces i was in love! I’m excited to play with my blazers:)
I have a wonderful collection of silk ties from the 70s that I NEVER wear, but this video might be just the push I needed to actually give them a try :D
Hello Liz! Sorry for the lengthiness, but I was a silent follower for too long and I do have something to say 😄 First of all, thank you for your channel. I've been adding more colour and personality to my appearance for quite some time but I didn't really watch anything fashion-related, until a couple of months ago I came across your video about layering - and down the rabbit hole I went. I watched a bunch of your other videos (I also checked your instagram and loved how casual it seems) and I discovered a variety of other fashion content creators. That layering video triggered something and I started combining my clothing pieces in the most unexpected ways (and how satisfying it is to wear them to a party and hear "a t-shirt over a dress is so cool"!). And my thrifting came to the next level, I think: one time I bought 10 pieces at once, almost all of which could be combined with each other. Yeah, new combinations definitely are a source of dopamine. But at some point I asked myself: what would I wear as a man? (I'm a cis-female who doesn't like overly feminine clothes in her daily life, and also takes part in dancing parties where dresses are good for doing "whoosh" but isn't it just fun to try something else?) I started searching... and everything was so dull. I got some ideas of my own, but I wanted to see someone else's content, so I was even considering to ask you if you could film your boyfriend's wardrobe. And then you announced this video! I was happy to finally see your interpretation of gender-neutral outfits. They are all great, but what clicked the strongest with me was the frog and toad inspired outfit bc it's so close to how I've been trying to dress up recently! I'm tired of typing but if you want I can describe how I dressed for a dancing party recently 😅 Soooo thank you for this video, I enjoyed seeing cool gender-neutral variations which are still in line with your overall style! Voting for part 2!
YES! Wear what makes us feel good, and like ourselves. I appreciate that there are a few male celebrities (or their offspring) doing this, as our culture thinks that these folks are "special", and people are more accepting if a famous person does it. I've always felt that men got the short end of the stick when it comes to clothes! Great to see things slowly evolving...at last.

I've been obsessed with mixing the two together. Like pastel pink or a more dainty top with carpenter or camo pants or mixing casual like a sweater vest or blazer with destress. Chaotic dressing with no fashion rules !!
Discovered your channel last week & you've already totally changed the way I look at my wardrobe! I've been rocking combos I never thought of before all cos of YOU! THANKS! Ps. Thank u also for explaining the difference between androgynous & gender neutral. It irks me when people assume androgynous = masculine, when it is meant to be a harmonious balance of all gender-energies! Love from a fellow bi x
another fire video omg!! loved alllllll these looks & i’m so impressed that you embroidered that sweater yourself!! it literally looks like a design that could cost hundreds of $$$. also as another fellow bi, u know we love the queer touches to every outfit!! thanks for all the inspo 💗
Absolutely in love with this vid! I feel like we need more representation for the people who feel more comfortable dressing in gender non-conforming ways but still wanna be fashionable :)
i’m genderfluid, so my gender is kinda all over the place. and one thing that surprised one of my friends is that i was feeling masculine, leaning towards he/they pronouns and wearing a blue dress and pink accessories. i’ll have days where i’ll feel like everything at once, where i feel like nothing and where i’m leaning in one direction. and currently, i’m wearing jeans and a cropped knitted jumper my mum made me in the bi flag colours while using any pronouns and having no idea what specific gender identity i’m feeling because i do not need to. this channel brings me joy, despite only watching a few videos, thank you.❤
Awesome video!! I usually dress more femenin (is that how you write i don't know im swedish ehh), but now I feel like throwing in a tie into my outfit today. The way you dress really makes a difference in how you feel!
wow, i took a lot of inspiration from this video, especially the street style and overalls looks!! sometimes it feels so nice and freeing to lean into something more gender-neutral :o)
This was such a good video! Very helpful, i will definitely go back to this video for inspo. Could you make a video of styling clothes in your wardrobe that you are not wearing? I’m trying to give a new life to my wardrobe and discovering it over again before buying new clothes. And it is very helpful to hear your thought process regarding this issue.
Love all of these looks! I've also been experimenting with boxier fits, I'm currently wearing an oversized leather cowboy-ish vest on top of an oversized corduroy button-up and I feel very cool 😎 Btw the intro at your gallery wall was also very pleasing to the eyes haha 🌸🌸🌸
i love the tie trend it’s so badass!! but i don’t think i’d wear it myself cos it would remind me too much of when i had to wear them for school uniform 😅
to me, i use gendered fashion to make me feel more masc and gender euphoric. i was afab but over the years, i realized i was trans. being able to find my style and ideas for outfits has helped me in passing as male. thank you for the video, no matter how old it is ❤️❤️
Liz, you've done it again 😂 Love your creative combinations. Your videos are inspiring me to have more fun with fashion again (3 years into the pandemic, working from home, less IRL socializing... my looks have gotten pretty stale). Keep it up! Also maybe it was my imagination but you seemed to be vibing in the modeling shots even more than you usually do! ❤
I'm afab and nonbinary and enjoy expressing myself with pretty feminine styles but since the pandemic i've gained some weight in the chest area and my usual feminine fashion has been making me feel less happy and more uncomfortable with my body, ideas like these are great for me to spice up my outfits while I wait on my top surgery! Colorful button ups really are my favorite gender neutral staple. Everyone should have a few funky button ups in colors and prints that speak to them, that's my hot take.
Just getting caught up but this one was fun! I'm not much one for shorts, but I've been feeling pants again this year and am very out of practice and this got the ideas flowing. Just now realizing that my style usually leans pretty androgynous but more gender neutral styling could be different enough to feel exciting to me.
I like girly clothes, but love the "permission" to think outside the box. I did thrift a men's silk shirt. So it's kind of fun trying new things in your 60's!
Loved this!! Dressing like an artsy tomboy is one of my default aesthetics when I want to feel confident, comfortable and ~cool~. Definitely need to up my neck scarf game, for some reason it’s always something I feel a bit uncomfortable in, maybe styling it more masculine will help! :^)
Love this! Clothes have no gender but as someone with a more curvy figure, I prefer to wear more baggy and masculine coded clothes to add more androgyny to my look. But I love wearing fun colors and sparkles and certain things that are sometimes femme coded. The combo is fun!
You are the coolest, this is such a great video!!!! I love how unpretentious your style is, it's just pure joy and color and keeping in touch with your child self
ugh the denim on denim and the british school boy outfit were my favoritessss lol this was so good and so fun to watch, need to try to style my 2014 denim jacket all buttoned up!!!!
Loooveee the fits!! Also I see what you mean with the closed denim jacket look… with the denim on denim, I feel like it could look so cool with a tie around the collar of the jacket !!
I am newly accepting myself as non binary and your video has helped me see that I can combine all my crazy styles in to something cute. Thank you beep ❤
Agree, the embroidered sweater is amazing! @faeriesmak there are some similar patterns (and lots more amazing designs) in the book Mystical Stitches by Christi Johnson.
This video makes me so happy! I love all the outfits, and they are actually gender-neutral! You are so so sweet, and I really loved this video! Thank you for making this masterpiece :) ❤️
I've always only ever worn a shirt and shorts, literally all my life, as it was the only thing I felt comfortable in (without realizing why until last year). Sadly atm that's the only thing in my "wardrobe" despite me wanting more cause of finance issues but I can't wait to actually build a closet of more than just graphic tees lol
I loved the video and your style!💫 I would love to see a part 2 with summer androgynous outfits with less layers because the country that I live is so hot lol
UGH, I LOVE THESE!!! I can't really style or dress good and I wanna learn how, currently best looking outfits are just vests over button ups 😭. These ones look hella cool and I can't wait to buy clothes and try to experiment and have fun.
I'm drafting guidelines for a wardrobe overhaul. To me, the gender crossover I'm aiming for is a masculine silhouette, with girlier options for color and pattern. I love how I look in a blazer but most men's blazer fabrics that aren't "costumey" put me to sleep 😴
Outfit #1 is one of my go to office looks, but with classic trousers (men's &/or women's) and a leather blazer.... I'm probably twice your age and have dressed all over the board (ultra fem, 3 PC men's suit, androgynous 🤷) most of my adult life.
this video is great!! i’m a lesbian woc and i love being perceived as androgynous bc i naturally get that, although i always viewed androgynous as like being someone who is an even balance of both feminine and masculine qualities they become gender-neutral. but maybe that’s just my understanding as someone who expresses themselves with androgynous fashion/vibes lol.
"If you're a man scared of wearing a tote, you're probably not watching this video" hahaha love it

You're range of colours in your clothes is awesome! Loved these outfits, can't wait to try them out with my own warddrobe
to me, i use gendered fashion to make me feel more masc and gender euphoric. i was afab but over the years, i realized i was trans. being able to find my style and ideas for outfits has helped me in passing as male. thank you for the video, no matter how old it is ❤️❤️
Liz, you've done it again 😂 Love your creative combinations.
You have given me so much more confidence and inspiration for making cool outfits!!
THE HOWL OUTFIT !!
Love all of these! Your takes are always so original. Also, I was having a stressful day and this happy little video made me feel better, ty 💕💕
The black/white/gray fit is FIYERRR
You have the best colour palette ❤
@@beepwrld makes my eyes so happy hehe
Looove outfit no. 6 with the harness. Giving me the Fleetwood Mac Rumours album cover
You are the coolest, this is such a great video!!!! I love how unpretentious your style is, it's just pure joy and color and keeping in touch with your child self
Why do bi girlies have the best style ;-;
the video we don't deserve but needed, digging the "vibe"
Great base outfits and the brown pants. The color palette is nice 😊
The shorts and the blazer goes so hard
how did you know this is exactly what i needed today??? thank youuu 🫶🏻🫶🏻
Love the second outfit w the embroidered shirt and pants
Loved all the looks. Also your hair looks amazing!
the true neutral frog and toad one
ugh the denim on denim and the british school boy outfit were my favoritessss lol this was so good and so fun to watch, need to try to style my 2014 denim jacket all buttoned up!!!!
Loooveee the fits!! Also I see what you mean with the closed denim jacket look… with the denim on denim, I feel like it could look so cool with a tie around the collar of the jacket !!
The world needs this . All the outfits were amazingly styled🤌🏼😍
Thanks for the video. I love gender-neutral styles on me!
omg OBSESSED with those morning glory pants, love me a funky pattern!!
I am newly accepting myself as non binary and your video has helped me see that I can combine all my crazy styles in to something cute. Thank you beep ❤
the howl-fit was perfect!! ☺️🥰
That sweater that you embroidered is amazing. Is there anyway that you could share the pattern with us??
@@beepwrld That's awesome!!!! Have a great week! I can't wait to see your next video!
Agree, the embroidered sweater is amazing! @faeriesmak there are some similar patterns (and lots more amazing designs) in the book Mystical Stitches by Christi Johnson.
@@beccadoesbotany It's funny that you mentioned that book as I just bought it about 2 weeks ago!!!!
Sadly atm that's the only thing in my "wardrobe" despite me wanting more cause of finance issues but I can't wait to actually build a closet of more than just graphic tees lol
looooovedd all! My style is 50/50, 50 this video, 50 your usual style.
It made me think of a couple new ways of mixing some clothing items I have.
I loved the video and your style!💫 I would love to see a part 2 with summer androgynous outfits with less layers because the country that I live is so hot lol
i love the rug in front if ur mirror!!!! it reminds me of a rug i destroyed for an art project :)
I'm probably twice your age and have dressed all over the board (ultra fem, 3 PC men's suit, androgynous 🤷) most of my adult life.
this video is great!! i’m a lesbian woc and i love being perceived as androgynous bc i naturally get that, although i always viewed androgynous as like being someone who is an even balance of both feminine and masculine qualities they become gender-neutral. but maybe that’s just my understanding as someone who expresses themselves with androgynous fashion/vibes lol.
no i don’t think you understand, i am OBSESSED. also, i would like to humbly request one of your styling a specific accessory videos but for ties :•)
