- www.AdamTheWoo.com - www.wdwfanboys.com - www.wdwkingdomcast.com - In 2007 the Wonders Of Life pavilion closed. It is now used on rare occasion for events. Rumor has it the buildings days are numbered. I figured since that may be the case I should document what is left. Unfortunately a security gaurd (who was actually very kind) caught me and that was the end of my snoopary. This is the footage I got up till that point. Enjoy !

As a child , I played there. I didn't realize that I had, but when I saw the inside, memories just came back to me. Sweet nostalgia :)
Watching this in 2024 and WOW lol You’ve definitely evolved
It's sad to think of how many of the original concepts of Epcot are gone. I watched a Disney special yesterday that dated back to the 1980's and it's insane the amount of attractions/pavilions they've replaced/changed, or simply closed. Although I always prefer the classics when it comes to rides and attractions, I'm sure they could have been able to update it, or something in order to keep it alive (if popularity was an issue). Especially since heath seems to be an important issue in the US.
i think the last time i was in that gold dome it was 1993 i think i miss what used to be there
I went to Disney World during the 2006 Christmas season, and we visited Wonders of Life. Me and my dad were the only ones bold enough to ride Body Wars (we actually broke down when it was just starting, and had to be moved to the adjacant simulator; they provided a little entertainment in the form of, I think, splicing the audio feed from PoTC into the speakers, while we were waiting for rescue), I also really enjoyed Cranium Command, but never did see The Making of Me or Goofy About Health. Little did I know that when I was in there, it was the pavilion's last days. I now count myself lucky.
It looks like you are changing the style of your videos and giving a more detailed history of where you go, really digging it!
I've been a regular watcher for about 3 months now. I actually went back and watched all your videos on this channel. Gotta say I really like learning or at least getting to see what things were like before they were shut down and discarded to let time do its thing.
I was just there, actually! They had the garden festival there again. Behind one of the curtains, right at the slope you walk down, there was some sort of blue vehicle on a track. I don't know if it was a peoplemover or a wondercycle or what, but I was thrilled. By the way, ever seen the old Kitchen Kabaret/Food Rocks! stage hidden behind Soarin'? I saw it, too. It's behind the large garden-type wall that goes along the path as you walk away to the right of The Land/Soarin' building. It looks like part of the pavilion (it's a large orange building), but as you walk farther right, you can see the "refrigerator" stage and the purple frames where characters like "Pita Gabriel" performed. I was in awe. It's strange how much of Epcot is just sitting and rotting...
The Energy Pavilion is gone now, only the classic front facade of the building remains as of 2018, Wonders of Life dome is still there as of November 2018, the Odyssey Pavilion is still there but blacked out and locked up, both Innoventions East and West were gutted and walled off (except for Eletric Umbrella) with just part of East being used as a character meetup area. The Seas and Land Pavilions are still there and I got to dive the tank while there! :) The Imagination Pavilion is still there, but the top floor in the glass pyramid was closed off. The World showcase half of the park is still fully open as of November 2018. The Coca-Cola Experience is still there and even the classic PhotoShop by Spaceship Earth is still there.
Thank you for the video. I remember going there in 1993 and going to the Body Wars and watching The Making of Me in the theater there.
I'm a new subscriber of yours. Your stuff is more interesting than most of what's on the Travel Channel these days. LOL at the people staring at you at the end.
Haha, I think Body Wars is the only simulated ride that made me feel pretty nauseous. It was so cheesy, but also fun. Thanks for the tour! :D
I used to love Cranium Command and Body Wars!
Walt Disney Imagineering has a large office building and trailers behind the Wonders of Life Pavilion.
Oh Crap, Adam tricked us! That door didn't go into Body Wars! That was the Emergency Exit door at Soarin'!
Thanks a lot man I have had this song stuck in my head for days
Such a shame, though, man. I, too, remember this from when I was a kid. Body Wars was also pretty neat, and narrated by Leonard Nimoy, if I'm not mistaken. It was one of the neatest stuff 'cause back when I was younger I was huge into science because of Bill Nye growing up. It broke my heart to hear it was closing and I didn't have the money or time to go see it before it shut down for good.
Well done Adam! Glad you decided to post it.
BODY WARS! WOW! Great memories there Adam. 7th grade field trip. great vid! absolutely WOO-TASTIC!
I had no idea this closed!! When I was a little kid, I went to Disney World, and this was my absolute favourite part of Epcot! I remember at least three of the videos/shows I saw there, plus they had this awesome stationary bike that played a video of the original Frontierland as you cycled through! Thank you for giving me this blast from the past.
I loved those bikes. It was very cool back then
I was in EPCOT that day too, it's a shame I missed you, I came all the way from Ireland!! Great video Adam, keep it up!!
i love how you did the shot by shot comparisons of the old WoL building! i miss it, and wish i would have payed more attention to what was in there when it was actually still in use for attractions!
Great Video!! I got my sister watching these!! I LOVE your Disney adventures!!!! Keep it up!! : )
Adam its @celticsboy2034 again, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO!!!!!! I have been waiting so long for you to put it up!!!! It's ashame that you couldnt get into the room with Cranium Command where Buzzy is. I wouldve liked to see that, but that's okay. Most people wouldnt even try to get into Cranium Command or Body Wars. Keep up the great videos. YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!!!
i was at Epcot last night!! heading to Hollywood studios in an hour!! I'll keep an eye out if you are still around! love this place! love your videos!!
I love the behind the scenes of Disney! Thanks for posting!!
It officially closed in 2007 but when MetLife ended it's sponsorship, the pavilion started going downhill. They took out several features over the years, took the pavilion off the map, and began to only operate the pavilion seasonally (Spring months and Christmas seasons from 2004-2007)
i really love the videos Mr. Woo...keep up the great work.
Adam. I have commented about your vids before. I just want to tip my hat to you. Your adventures are awesome, and with the risk of being caught, you still to it. Congrats Woo!
I'd almost forgotten Adam used to have personality and wasn't always a rich, suburban Disney mega fanboy
I miss that Pavillion so much
Really cool! I miss Body Wars and Cranium Command, I remember waiting in the queue for my first Body Wars adventure. I was in EPCOT just a couple of weeks ago, I knew the pavilion was open and TOTALLY forgot to visit it!!!
Speaking of washing dishes, I did just that for the grand opening of Wonders of Life. We worked in the Odyssey restaurant. Damn that was a long time ago. Great video as always Adam.
Awsome vid dude... dont know how I missed it thought I seen all your disney vids... awwwww heck
Body Wars, now that brings back memories. Thanks for showing us.
Nice Adam, keep em coming!
Cool video! I liked the Ray Lynch music in the background!
Great post! Just wondering if you knew the name of that song. I love classic parks audio and would love to hunt this one down. Haven's heard it in a while. Thanks for all the entertaining videos!
Great vid I think I do remember that place it's been a long time that I have been in Epcot!
That was cool the security guard was nice!
hey adam, another recomendation you could do is try to see the remenance of the original "Living Seas Pavilion" there is still some stuff blocked off that isnt part of nemo
So vividly I remember that pavilion. It was like a large indoor playground. Seems it was a distant memory ten years ago and ten years ago is a distant memory now
LOL! Love the "oh i was trying to find the exit but i'm really trying to uncover Disney's dirty secret" motive xD
EPCOT-Experimental Prototype City of Tomorrow. Walt Disney originally planned for Epcot to be a futuristic city with homes.
I used this for my I-Seach
They tell you that on the people mover.
***** they also mention alot about Epcot in "The Life of Walt Disney" attraction at one of the parks, i forget which...
Excellent as always Adam.Where did you get the older wonders of life footage from.
The music is "Celestial Sodapop" by Ray Lynch from the Album "Deep Breakfast"
i remember coming home from school and watching this video with a bowl of pasta back in 2013 ahh :)
That sounds like a nice nostalgic memory!
great job. always looking forward to your videos. rock on!!!!!
Celestial Soda Pop while exploring abandoned Epcot attraction
This song sounds familiar. What's it called?
BTW, Ever consider trying to get in the abandoned upstairs Imageworks in Imagination?
Thanks for this video. Having the song "Celestial Soda Pop" by Ray Lynch in the background made the tour more mysterious; almost spooky. Great choice.
RJ Guy even better that it actually played in the pavilion
question, do you know why epcot shut WOL down in the first place? and are there any future plans for the pavilion?
Anddddd....now the Wonders of Life Pavilion is getting a complete rehaul.
Yes thank you so much for sharing this video
I miss Body Wars. Reminds me of the Captain Planet episode "An Inside Job." Also, I love the opening song!
Awww I remember that building, the DNA thing out front and Body Wars. Sad to see its gone.
seeing cranium commander brought back memories... I remember that ride like it was yesterday, can't believe this place was closed!
Awesome stuff again :D love it
nice video woo i remember back in the 70's late 90's going to florida all ways to walt disney but i do not remember the dome it's a big park did not have a lot of time but a lot of things in walt disney in florida has changed its a shame oh well we can not stop that.thank you for showing the dome for my first time.:-)
Almost 2023 and they still haven't figured out what to do with this pavilion after canceling Play
Another awesome adventure Woo.
You do a lot of stuff in Florida. Is there anything abandoned in Tampa? If so where?
nice music woo. I like how you recorded it on your phone
Good stuff as always I have a lot of fun memories of this place! For people who don't know the history of the pavilion there have got to be some strange sights in there ... like they are there to see a garden festival wondering why theres a room called the "birth theater" or seeing a mural of guts on the wall and wondering wtf is up lol
thanks for all your work keep it up
Oh wow, I remember Wonders of Life! It was still around the first 2 times I visited Disney. (25th Anniversary and sometime after 2001) Shame its all gone now... and that the building won't be around for too long either... times change. I am excited for all the stuff they're adding to the Magic Kingdom though!
Do you have any idea what the name of the documentary was called? It sounds pretty cool
i just went there on a class trip and when you walk into wonders of life its kinda like being sucked back into the 90's
@adamthewoo What's your favorite Disney attraction? Mine's (the former) Alien Encounter ride (which I rode 3 times in the day, a while ago) and Space Mountain, I'm a big Tomorrowland fan!
This blows me away. I didn't get the memo they closed it, lol. I took my little girl there in 2004. I love your vids.
Nice save at the end! Stupid Guest Routine FTW!!!
I have no doubt we will succeed in our upcoming adventures, and I'm sure we'll both have tons of awesome video to show for it!
Of all the times I've been to Epcot, i have never noticed this place before.
The original plan was to have an elaborate dark ride going through the human body. As you would've gone through the lungs, the walls ceiling, and floor would've "breathed" in and out. I was bitterly disappointed when, after Eisner came in, it was announced that the dark ride was canceled in favor of a motion simulator, which would use elements from the 1987 movie Innerspace. .............. I thought Body Wars was okay, but I think the dark ride might've had more lasting appeal.
How far did you make it sneaking into Body Wars and does it look creepy and different?
During the latest D23 convention they announced that the pavilion will be partially transformed into a new space themed restaurant to go with the reworked Mission Space attraction and the new Guardians Of The Galaxy attraction going into the Universe of Energy pavilion.
Man I miss Wonders... I wish they’d do something with the building besides using for the (head scratching) Festival Center
Ray Lynch. I haven't heard this since i was in elementary school. Props to you Adam. Celestial Soda Pop.
love the music on this one
love that soundtrack!
did a little research and yes! It is true! the theater still exists! adam, you should check it out. it is accsessable through a door behind the desk of soarin.
Do they still have the ride where you go throughout the future. I remember the part where you go through a orange farm, I can still smell the orange aroma they pumped in.
where'd you get caught in wonders of life? theres never that many people there when it's open for special events. Great video though Adam, I wish you could of seen Body Wars! I heard they still have the old simulators in there, and they used those simulators to test Star Tours 2.0 before it re-opened last year
Where did you get the Old wol music from?
what is the soundtrack? The music sounds very familiar
That doesn't surprise me...before the cast of Disneyland's now-defunct America Sings became the cast of Splash Mountain, one (or several?) of its singing geese were removed, its outer covering was stripped off,and it became a repair droid for Star Tours.
Dude, you're using Ray Lynch's "Deep Breakfast" as your soundtrack?? Awesome!
I miss this place soooo much. I loved Cranium Command and Body Wars!
Thanks for doing these videos! More disney vids plz!
Hey. I am planning to sneak a peek at the body wars MET facade at the entrance to the ride. I have seen people look over the wall right in front of the entrance and see it. Do you remember how tall the wall was and if someone could just peek over the top? Odd question, but sure would help. Thanks
Anthony Studios (remember me?) 2 weeks ago I went to WDW and did go to Epcot. Before the park was closing I walked over to WOL and went under the rope, hoping to get in. Sadly (well what would you expect anyhow) the doors to the pavilion were locked, but most of it looked fairly intact despite the mute colors.
JEHMSZ aw bummer! so close! try going during food and wine like me lol
Anthony Studios I'm speculating wether or not to get tickets for it. On eBay earlier this month somebody was selling VIP PASSES that were given to employees of Metropolitan Life for access to the pavilion and the VIP lounge. I missed out on winning the auction, but the photo looked like the seller had BOXES of them.
aw man id do anything to go up there. and do u need tickets for food and wine to get into WOL?
Anthony Studios I think you need tickets for the Festival. Though you have to book your EPCOT park admission through My Disney Experience. But if I did get those passes I would've had no problem going over the rope (I was scared s-less walking up to the doors) and I would've got into the VIP lounge. Which is still carrying the pavilion's "circus tent/carnival" theme.
It's called, "Walt Disney World: A Dream Come True." It was aired on the Disney Channel in the 1986 and it's the history of the development on the park Magic Kingdom and Epcot, and at the end it talked of their future plans. Which at the time was MGM (Hollywood Studios). It's on UA-cam and here's the link: /watch?v=lQ97MYGVm0I&feature=g-hist (put that at the end of youtube.com)
I can't believe that is the state of wonders of life now so sad, I remember waiting out many tropical storms in there. And I just got back from a trip to the world on sunday. The doors you went out of from the soarin building were open and used as an entrance and exit for the building. takes you right by figment.
Its so dumb that this place has been closed. I don't even understand why.
Disney does not need a sponsor to keep their attractions open. They have made that clear with all the new construction in their parks.
+NotWatching666999 although rides at Disney don't always need sponsors, the pavilion was one that constantly was being updated with the help of MetLife, it's sponsor. Once MetLife was no longer sponsoring, the attractions were not being updated, and everything in the pavilion grew very outdated, and things were breaking down. Because of this, there was a drastic decline in people actually going to the pavilion, and eventually Disney decided to shut it down altogether. The pavilion was great I agree, but Disney tends to prefer looking ahead to make new projects instead of digging up old, outdated ones.
Where do you get your footage of it from a long time ago ?
I had no idea it this had closed I remember Body wars was such a fun ride :(. Any idea why they closed it down.
Whats the song if you don't mind me asking?
It's Ray Lynch. I am pretty sure this song is called Celestial Soda Pop. My music teacher in 5th grade introduced our entire school to this. This is the first time I have heard it since like the 80's. I recognized it right off the bat. lol.
I've ALWAYS wanted to sneak back into these backstage areas!!
Why not, the least they could tell you is to leave.
Fame doesn't mean anything
I used to work at Epcot..nothing really interesting back stage except casting and the imagineering studio, but you would never get that far..more likely to be run over by a transit bus as soon as you step out the door ;)
The ride was called Horizons. It was awesome.
nice vid adam!
Great job! It is a bit sad though to see that all of the Body Wars attraction is gone! Who decides these things anyway?
River Country was already Covered by another poster. As to the Island on Bay Lake, That was called Discovery Island, and it was closed when they added the Animal Kingdom Park In.
Does anyone know why they got rid of the Wonders of Life? I remember it from when I was a kid and it's sad to see it's not there anymore.
love your vids but was it worth getting a life time ban?
