I love the blue touch and the shape of the railing makes the upstairs look like an attraction rather than a caged bedroom 😅 Really just love everything about it.
I think I would not take much to make this more cozy. Wood flooring, curtains, different chairs and maybe a normal sofa or a bench would probably make a big difference.
very nice! A small editing suggestion: a bigger pause after the owner is done talking and the ad starts. let her words sit with the viewer for a few seconds :)
I wouldn't personally live there but I can see the potential of it. It's amazingly well designed for her needs! She uses so much space for her office that you would think everything else would be cramped, but... no. It just all works beautifully together. If I had to visit her for business, I wouldn't have the feeling I'm stepping in her home either, which is a huge plus for the client. Well done!
I think it suits her needs perfectly!! The place must seem professional and modern-chic to clients visiting this office, so the color choice really brightens up the space in an unconventional way. I’m sure if this place was to be just a home the color of the mezzanine structure would have been different, even the material. But as this being an office, it’s not too industrial but really feels like a workplace. Great example of a small living customized to fit individual’s needs!
plus I’m just curious what color/material choice she will do of the 2nd floor, if it were to be a home. maybe a change of layout, too? It’s so well-designed and the shelves displaying samples are so pleasing to the eye!!
This could easily be adapted to a normal house by enlarging the kitchen with full size appliances at the office space. Laundry and closet can go where the small kitchen is, the meeting area then will be a large living area with comfortable seating. The architect has designed the space for her own needs but showed us lots of possibilities with the way she maximised the space

As far as permanent living space there's definitely a demographic for them but I just am not among it. Mad respect to the designers though as the work is quite impressive.
I like how the shower door functions to hide away the storage bins, but I wonder about moisture being trapped in that area with the door wet after a shower. Or maybe there's a constant wet spot on the floor where it drips?
I was thinking about that too, but then I realized that, to use a transparent shower door like that you got to be diligent and always scrape the residual water on the door every time you shower or it will look ugly very soon with the water deposit buildup. Or if you are lazy, just always move the door to the shower side after opening it so the moisture won't be trapped in the storage area.
a really good example of a well-designed apartment that I, personally, wouldn't pick for myself. There is absolutely nothing wrong with her design, only that it doesn't appeal to my personal tastes.
a year ago or so i never would have imagined it could be so relaxing watching videos of small apartments. i LOVE these! it inspires me to make my small apartment more beautiful!
One of my favourite ones because I work from home and it made me realise how many hours I spend working inside and how many doing other things. It is a fact: if you work from home, this has to become the function where you should seek the most comfort and convenience. I love other NTS videos but when I see them pulling out table tops that are tiny or pulling up stools as potential working chairs I always know that these spaces would not work for me. Thanks Caterina for showing us your space.
Im curious on how high the ceiling is, area-wise its small, but volume-wise i feel like its huge since it could fit 2 floors. From a design prespective its a really nice place.. 👌
I don't know if it's true, but I heard that first floors in some tenement houses were built with the heighest ceiling to provide enough light, comparing to higher placed floors. I used to live on a first floor in a tenement house in Poland, the ceiling was above 4 meters. But I've never been in higher floors to see if their flats' ceilings are the same height or not.
Where I live (Florence, Italy) building a non-removable, structural mezzanine like that (using steel beams) would be illegal, with a 4/4.5m ceiling. At least 2.4m for each "floor" would be the minimum requirement in terms of height.
I personally prefer to go without my shoes in my house/ to my bed, I can't imagine waking up in the middle of the night and walking on that blue steel to get down to the bathroom
I love this so much! It has always been my dream to own a business and work at home! There’s no need to face any BS at commercial space with fake colleagues
This is one of the most beautiful apartments I have seen in this channel, the colors, the decoration, the organization of the space its stunning, also the high ceilings are amazing and obviously really help with the organization of the place
This channel really inspires me to do something about my apartment. I’ve never realize that all the furnitures in my small apartment are wayyyy too big and the color scheme makes the room look even smaller. I really just bought what ever I want lol. Now I think paying a little more attention to design will make my living space a lot more functional and improve my well being. Time to start saving money and renovate.
The design and materials used is amazing! I would never have known there was a bedroom up top. Opening up that hallway along with the bright lighting makes the space look much larger.
WOW. This apartment looks absolutely incredible for such a small space. Just goes to show what innovation, imagination, and design can truly achieve. Very talented architect to say the least.
I like the use of doors that do not fold to open and close, on the contrary, they only slide, saving a lot of space and optimizing each section, differentiating the public and private, I like it
My flat is only 5m2 bigger. So I know, how to live in such a space. But this project looks more like an office with a place to sleep than a real living space. That tiny blue sofa p. ex. fits well into the color scheme, but who will enjoy sitting there with everyone else sitting in office chairs?
The blue sofa is not ment for sitting, but sleeping with your business-partners. You know bonding is an important part of the creative business solutions..
The ceiling plexiglass diffusion screen for the overhead led lighting is actually a pretty genius idea. It makes the led lighting brighter, more even and natural feeling.
Like most of the comments this place looks more like an office than a Home but it works for her, so congrats! The combination materials are really cool, how she integrate the blue as part of the whole area is very interesting.
I am so in love with the use of space, making the best of high ceiling for a mezzanine sleeping and personal area. The ceiling light bulbs is an ingenious way to create points of interest!
I love the pop of colour through out the apartment!!! The few things I don't like as much (ex. The size of the kitchen) are more my personal prefferences/wants.
I love this design but as someone afraid of heights, the open mesh floor of the mezzanine would have me sleeping downstairs - I can't walk across an elevated floor unless it's solid 🤣 That doona cover !! All so very very beautiful and practical. Hi from Australia.
Despite its small size, the apartment has become wonderfully airy and light. The materials and colors are so appealingly combined! Terrazzo flooring, some wood, tiles and steel all go together so well. Blue and white like the sea and fleecy clouds and above it the bed like a bird's nest high up. And here and there bright yellow flashes like the sun. I love the bright yellow flower pot on the blue floor! As you can see, my thoughts have already moved in, haha. Because I'm no longer so light-footed, I want a staircase made of blue steel along a wall instead of the ladder. The bookshelves may follow the stairs up, making it easy for me to get to the books and into bed. How I can clean the ceiling lamps or replace a lamp, I don't know, maybe there are also wings or a good ghost to do it for me. Thanks for the nice video, it puts me in a good mood.
For persons saying it looks too much like an office.. well duh, that was her preference. If it was 'a home' then you would just layout the office section differently splitting it into another bedroom or living space upstairs or decorating that area differently making the office a living area and the living area in the back another bedroom or bigger office. I can definitely take ideas from this sweet design
the utilization of the space is great! I would personally change some materials and have it be comfier/ more inviting and homey, but the way she organized and lit the rooms are fantastic
Beautiful apartment and amazing use of light and space. For me personally it lacks warmth and a homely feeling due to the textiles and colour scheme. Stepping out of bed in a cold morning onto that engineered grate would send shivers up my spine. However it seems to work for you and well done 👏
It’s nice to see a small space that allows for work! That is my main concern with most of these: there is no space to create or work from home. I love seeing a space designed for someone specifically and then seeing that they use it. Sure, it might not suit many other people, but I love watching how well it fits that one person.
