In my younger days I had a Ruger single six SA revolver with 5" barrel. I used to load pellets in the chambers and use standard .22 blanks that are used in sports guns. I used these for pest control on my farm. Effective range was about 30 to 50 feet. Quiet so as to not startle the chickens, or wife...grin...
I put a .22 slug and a blank in my 1shot rifle, works like a charm, just put a heavy and think pellet in it to get decent pressures :) i tested all kind of pellets and slugs were the best for me
I'm working on some ballistic gel tests right now. I'm currently trying to work something out with Clear Ballistics so I don't have to keep making the shit in my kitchen (it stinks)
I have an old pistol chambered in .25 Steven's. I use the yellow nailgun blanks to fire 28 grain .25 caliber airgun slugs. It only has a 1 and an 8th inch barrel, and I swear I'm getting at least 1,300 fps, but probably around 1,400.. The damage it does to bottles of water is noticeably greater than a .22 caliber rifle. Those nailgun blanks are only meant to accelerate a piston about an inch or so, so it makes sense that I get so much velocity out of such a short barrel.
Nice! I finally got around to trying my level 6 purple ram sets to launch golf balls and it was just as powerful as the 223 blank and better than the 9mm blanks! I’ve been wanting to try this as well with some “chamber adapter” style devices in a wheel gun
Considering the facts that a .22 LR handgun is reaching rifle barrel performance? I'd give that two thumbs up. If you have a 14.4 grain copper pellet going 1,434 fps the force equals 65.66 lb-ft. If it reaches 2500 fps it equals 199.89 ib-ft.
@@hasgunwilltravel6840 what I've seen using this setup is that it only penetrates about 4 inches.......but Jesus CHRIST does it absolutely destroy and turn into soup everything in that 4 inches. like fist-sized hole made of soup

I would wonder if there was any significant leading. Airgun pellets do not have lube, gas checks, or coatings on them to prevent the rifling from getting leaded up. Obviously, running a couple of these shouldn't produce any problems, but extended shooting would. My first instinct was that Lee Liquid Alox would be the easiest solution. A comparison between pellets with Alox on them and bare pellets to see if there are any performance differences or leading would be interesting
