The hard part of running a game company comes so easy to Nintendo. They pump out masterpieces like it’s nothing, but it’s the dumb corporate stuff that they keep screwing up.

I think the issue is conflict of interest when Nintendo goes to put out a new game in their main IPs or even make a new one they have their most passionate developers on it but the people who handle things like online or ports go to people who only are there to make money which is sad
Yah the business team decides the release date and price, which is why they’re either unfinished or over priced. Also the ip problems but that’s already known

@@summerycast7936 yeah. I know you weren’t referring to my comment, but that’s basically what I said. Nintendo’s corporation only has money in sight, and are extremely greedy. not only that, but they’re also petty. like for example, they’ll take down ocarina of time osts (thank god it’s up now), but they’re not making profit off of it anymore and it’s discontinued, as well as the n64. they don’t even have a music page themselves, which would be fine if they did. but like, cmon, you have a legal right to do so but it’s just so petty, everybody knows Nintendo actually made the piece anyway, it’s not like plagiarism anyway.

Lifelong Nintendo fan here. I’m 43 years old and have every single Nintendo console that has come out. I loved Nintendo and their games and it’s not just for nostalgia, I looked forward to every time Nintendo announced a new first party game. I preordered just about everything they made as soon as it was available. My living room is a walk in Nintendo advertisement. I defended the Switch and continued to use it as my only platform to play games, even though at this point it’s almost 3 console generations behind the times when it comes to hardware and base storage. This year I did something that I never imagined I would ever do, I bought a PS4 pro and totally switched platforms. I now buy every game I play on PS, and wow. What a difference. Nintendo, the company that was at the forefront of tech in the 90’s has fallen so far behind that it would take an act of god for them to catch up, and they’re not listening to their fans whatsoever and not interested in keeping up with the tech, I guess. They push out unfinished low effort titles and then just abandon them. The switch versions of Mario Party, Animal Crossing, Mario Tennis and the latest, Mario golf, are all subpar and will never become anything more. Anyone who plays New Horizons at all knows just how piss poor the content in the game is, and after a year and a half of basically nothing, everyone including me has given up hope of it ever being more. The same fate will befall Super Rush, which is IMO one of the laziest, most bare bones garbage efforts Nintendo has ever put out. The only game they seem to care about whatsoever is Smash Bros., and even then all they do is add lazily re-skinned characters that no one cares about. Why can’t we get more Mario Kart tracks or vehicle upgrades? Why can’t we get a few more boards on Mario Party? Why was 90% of the content in previous Animal Crossing games missing at New Horizons release? It’s unacceptable. I’m a Resident Evil fan, and I’m not waiting around until 2035 when Nintendo finally decides to make a console that can handle Resident Evil Village. It’s unacceptable for such a powerhouse of a company to be so far behind the times, and it absolutely infuriates me the way treat their fans when it comes to copyright stuff. They don’t see it as an honor that so many people love their games and want to share their experiences with others. They want to shut those people down. I don’t understand it at all. Let’s not even discuss the OLED Switch… Who the hell wanted that? I was in the camp of people expecting a hardware upgrade. Just another enormous let down by Nintendo. I fully plan on getting a PS5 when they become available again and I don’t know whether or not I’ll buy the next Nintendo console. I can live without the lazily put together first party Nintendo games, and I’ll never use another Nintendo console as my main gaming platform unless they actually become a competitor again. I’m not waiting a decade to play all the great current gen games that will be coming out soon. It’s sad to see a company fall so far, but nostalgia won’t save them. They’ve already lost a ton of fans and I expect them to continue the same way. I’d urge everyone to speak with your wallets and stop enabling Nintendo to make such crappy products. Demand they revert to the once great company that they were. It pains me to say this, but I won’t support them monetarily anymore.
Great video! A few extra things about the Switch that drive me mad: - JoyCon drift is still a MAJOR issue, yet no attempt has been made to fix it whatsoever even in the Switch Lite (where they’re built in) or the new Switch OLED - The Switch still has major Bluetooth/WiFi connection issues! I have to sit within a few feet of my console or none of my JoyCons will stay connected, and I can’t connect to the internet unless I physically place the console right next to the dang router, connect, then take it back to the dock or wherever I want. - It still doesn’t support Bluetooth headphones, in 2021, for no reason at all. - It still has only 4GB of RAM, making AAA ports extremely difficult! The Switch OLED could have easily improved aspects of the hardware like this, but it doesn’t. Yet it still costs $325!!!
I remember like 3 weeks ago my friend told me, "yeah it's so weird that a portable console like the switch won't let me connect bluetooth headphones to it" and I didn't believe him until I looked it up
They made really good stuff in the past few years, it's not like before Iwata's passing, everything was pink and beautiful. They made some mistakes too in the past. Even with Smash, they have refused to acknowledge people love it so much because of the competitive scene and have intentionally made the games since Melee less competitive. Meanwhile, a super scuffed nickelodeon platform fighter made by a small indie dev is getting wavedashing and rollback netcode this fall lol. No, its always been like this. It's just that it was easy to ignore it during the 7th generation of consoles because the Gamecube wasn't THAT OLD back during the days of the Wii. The Wii was backwards compatible with the Gamecube while offering support for every other previous Nintendo home console. It was the ONE PERIOD IN TIME where Nintendo basically had support for everything. Obviously you were missing stuff like Banjo and Kazooie, but that was at least understandable given Microsoft's acquisition of Rare. But overall, it was a pretty comprehensive library that you could purchase and enjoy. This started to become more of a conscious issue again when we finally realized that the Gamecube wouldn't be getting virtual console releases on the Wii U, and was later exacerbated by the fact that Nintendo ported less games onto the Wii U compared to the Wii (but was at least supplemented by the fact that you could transfer your Wii data onto your Wii U). This all went out the window with the Switch, and now Nintendo is only drip feeding us this shit and refuses to either provide a proper library or let us emulate games in peace.
Nintendo is at it's "rich and comfortable" stage right now. It happened after the success of the Wii entering the Wii U era, and it's happening now with the Switch's success. They know they dont have to do anything beyond the bare minimum cuz they still got billions of dollars to back them up. They need proper competition or face a massive failure to humble them and make them get their shit together.
The Wii U was a catastrophic failure, being the least sold home console in the Nintendo history (12million units) Still, during their Wii U days, they continued with their $60usd ports

Yeah, Nintendo is really anti-consumer when it comes to a lot of things. They have an unfortunate and long history of treaty their fans and community like shit at every turn when they don't like something. They're particularly bad when it comes to emulation, which they'd like you to believe is just flat-out illegal (it isn't btw, no matter how much they wish that it was, it's not, it's perfectly legal, assuming you have a legal copy of the game your emulating). That's why all these emulators are allowed to exist in the first place, and companies like Nintendo can't just have them removed, they're perfectly legal to use. They and many other video game companies have lost that battle many times, every time. So instead, they just throw cease and desist notices at their community left, right, and center knowing that no one wants to get into a legal battle with a billion-dollar company, even when you know you're in the right. Just mentioning anything about emulation is a great way to get put on their shit-list real fast. Whether it be tournaments or otherwise, they don't give a fuck, they're completely apathetic to everything. They have the most archaic and detached understanding of community relations of any company I've ever seen in the video game industry. I don't know if that's just because they're a Japanese company, or because they're an old company like Disney and they have a legacy or both. I don't really know for sure, but they've always been an anomaly when it comes to these things. If Nintendo's main argument against emulation is that it promotes piracy then they should really consider the fact that maybe their service is just shit. If you provide a service better than what pirates do, then no one will pirate your shit. It's really as simple as that. As Gabe Newell famously and wisely said: "The easiest way to stop piracy is not by putting antipiracy technology to work. It’s by giving those people a service that’s better than what they’re receiving from the pirates." He was smart enough to recognize that piracy is a service problem and nothing more. So maybe Nintendo should start revaluating their service and instead provide something that emulation doesn't, instead of ruining their community.
You are really fucking correct at every point you made, especially at the Disney part, Disney makes shitty movies and people just watch them due to the nostalgia that the company made in their lifes, nintendo is in a similiar case, although, most of their games are at least fun to play.
And when nintendo can play re 8 it consles will probably be as powerfull as pcs
That is really long

Great video! A few extra things about the Switch that drive me mad:
- JoyCon drift is still a MAJOR issue, yet no attempt has been made to fix it whatsoever even in the Switch Lite (where they’re built in) or the new Switch OLED
- The Switch still has major Bluetooth/WiFi connection issues!

SEGA are objectively one of the best publishers and nobody is talking about it
- SEGA treat their fans with reverence and respect! From content creators to fan game developers. You might get a shout out or even a job!
- SEGA puts a tone of effort into their game remasters! Just check out Yakuza Kiwami, Persona 4, Sonic Colours Ultimate or Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania.
- SEGA are not greedy! They don't partake in gambling mechanics or loot boxes. They often release games at 40 or even 30 dollar price points.
-one of SEGAs inhouse development studios (CA) has won 'Best Place to Work in the Games Industry' for the last 5 years in a row! This shows they are dedicated to employees welbing.
-They are dedicated to releasing even their biggest and most text and speech heavy Japanese games globally on the same day!
-Dispite the weird totally false rumours about SEGAs 'poor quality' they are the No.1 publisher on Metacritic - a metric of quality! Having released 38 titles in the last year. By comparison, Nintendo are 9th on the same metric with only 21 titles - almost half!
Bottom line is: SEGA are one of the best games companies in almost every aspect.
I fucking hate it when people saying Sega is a bad video game company because they make bad sonic games, why they just can't play something else like puyo puyo, super monkey ball, persona, yakuza, etc?
Not only persona, but the Megami Tensei series
@@pacmanfan3488 Unfortunately, Sonic is the face of the company, much like how Master Chief/Halo is the face of Xbox, Mario with Nintendo, and Nathan Drake/Uncharted with Playstation.
For most people, the state of SEGA is equal to the state of the Sonic franchise unfortunately.
When a publisher consistently releases bad games for their flagship franchise, it can cause people to see them as a bad publisher, even if it's unwarranted (it's unwarranted in the case of SEGA, since they still publish great non-Sonic games for series like Yakuza, Persona, etc).
@@omaroo7969 Sad but true. SEGA needs to make some drastic changes within Sonic Team - the whole companies image suffers because of Sonic Teams mismanagement of the Sonic IP.
I wish sega owned mario
But that doesn't mean that they are allow to do all the stupid/idiotic/retarded things that they made

@@sausagesausage nah you're just mistaking "desperation" for "support". Sega is in lifesupport basically with many bad and mediocre games published in recent years. By "supporting" a fangame they basically score points for the audience, so that the blind fans get a positive image of the dead company, and also manage to stay alive (although barely).
