In this Video I will show you the steps to take to fix a front loading Washing Machine that wont Drain Water.
Are your clothes coming out very wet or maybe your Washing Machine has stopped mid cycle or is your washing machine full of water?
I will show you how to diagnose a Washing Machine Drainage problem and a Washing Machine Drainage pump filter problem.
Hope you get it sorted. If you still have problems and the Washing Machine won't drain water then it's time to call a Washing Machine Engineer or Plumber.

1:29 Turn off mains cold water feed.
1:33 Check drainage hose & U Bend pipework for blockages.

3:42 Look what I found!
4:02 And found something else!
4:18 Turn on mains cold water feed.
4:42 Plug washing machine in.
5:06 Run a Drum clean programme or put it on hottest wash setting.

My machine’s manufacturer sent out an engineer to look at the drainage problem. He connected a device, ran a test cycle and said the poor drainage is caused by user error which results in an unbalanced load. He advised to wash clothes as normal. Separate the load at the end and run two spin+drain cycles for each half. Even though the drainage issue existed regardless of load size.
After watching your vid, I discovered a blockage between the kitchen waste trap and the machine’s outlet hose. Cleared and cleaned. Now running as normal.
Your vid offered better troubleshooting advice than the company’s engineer!

Lurgs you're a goddamn genius! I was all like "there's no way there will be a coin stuck in the filter, how would it fit through the drum". I drained it and low and behold there was an American quarter in there!!! Fixed now. Thank you sir!

Thank you. Problem solved. Opening the filter (Bosch machine) was very difficult because there were enough coins to prevent both drainage at the back and opening at the front. Lots of anticlockwise then clockwise turns to shift them. I had to resort to pliers, which risked damaging the flimsy plastic handle I was turning, but I wouldn't have got in otherwise.

Had a non draining machine at my sons house. Followed your “How to” and fished out several coins, a face mask and a baby’s sock from the filter chamber. Ran the cleaner through the machine too, and it operates like new again now. Thanks.

This video has just saved me a call out charge. I'm not in anyway the handy person type but I followed the steps in this video (blimey washing machines are bloody heavy to move!) and managed to open the bottom filter. A colour catcher sheet was stopping the machine from draining. Pulled it all out, switched everything back on and hey presto it's working fine again. Thank you so much. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Thanks to you I've located the problem. Our washing machine shares a U bend with the kitchen sink causing grease to build up along the drainage pipe coming out the back of our washing machine.

Thanks man. I was in denial that it could be the filter so soon after I last cleaned it out. But it turned out the culprit was a Covid-19 face mask blocking the filter and stopping the draining thing turning around.
Note for all... if you’re washing and reusing masks, put them in a bag or something before putting them in the washing machine.

This video just saved me so much money, I was quoted over £100 for a plumber to come investigate my non-draining Logik machine. Granted, I did flood my kitchen in the process of unclogging the drain because I didn't expect SO much water to come out of the valve on the front but that's 100% user error 😂 thank you so much!

Absolute lifesaver! Found out there were 3 screws in the drainage propeller from my other housemate, not impressed but super glad it was an easy fix!

Idk if this works for everyone but i just ran the wash on small again hoping it would clear all the water and it cleared everything so i suggest trying that first

Your a legend sir, was just about to click confirm on a new washer then had the epiphany "let me check the interwebs and see if someone has any ideas". 15 mins later found a baby sock coiled around the rotary blades inside and a few hundred quid better off. Again, thank you good sir 👍👍

Thanks for your advice as I had a problem with the washing machine not spinning or draining and followed your instructions. It was rubbish in the filter and a hair clip then once I removed it put it back together and now the washing machine works like new.

that was my problem the drainage fan at the bottom of the washing machine was blocked with string . Made up saved me from paying someone to come out and have a look ..

Spent ages emptying the filter and checking all the hose on my machine (which is absurdly long)
Hadn’t checked the trap though as it’s linked to the sink and that’s draining fine - turns out there was a sequin the exact diameter of the pipe where the hose joins the pipe work and that was causing the block. I’d assumed it was the pump and was about to order a new machine until I saw this. You saved me, as a new machine would have had the same problem! Thank you so much
