Lol scarlet and violet turns whatever it touches to crap let alone the new worse pokemon card art/border especially energy written 3 times on the redesigned energy card in case you have ADD or Alzheimer's and forget what it does (like yugioh pot of greed meme draw 2 cards explanation).
It was Ok at 1st but had the opposite effect on me - it grew more jarring as time went on. Mainly becuase Sw/Sh turned out to be such big disappointment and the Pokémon models and 'world' looked like cut out from Cardboard. Really dislike that Outline effect. SV's South wild battle theme is a proper Jam and only gets better in Trainer battles.
Genuinely a hard call to make. Felt like this is the first animation change that isn't worse than sword and shield's animation. It's not better either though, it's just different.
many moves don't have screen shakes anymore, when against important characters like Nemona, Avern. Penny, Gym Leaders+E4/Team Star Bosses/Titan Pokemon, Tera Raid or Online Battles they only shake against wild pokemon and generic NPC trainers in the wild area or whatever the fuck
The wood hammer looks less cartoony in SV, whereas the Spiky Shield one is more natural but kinda too small for 'protection'. Overall I think neither are better than the other, it's just a bit different. In my opinion, of course
They have a lot of special animation being removed Like Decidueye's Spirit Shackle targeting animation on previous game, now it's just simply flapping wings to fire arrow Chesnaught Spiky Shield animation from XY where it merging both arm to produce the shield, now it's appears like out of thin air after a roar/cry Cinderace Pyro Ball has that sick animation resembling soccer player back in Sword & Shield, now it's simply kicks a fire ball that came out of thin air
I prefer the SWSH Wood Hammer animation. Not only does the SWSH animation look flashier with the spin, but the spin makes it seem like it has more weight and impact. It is easier to lift something heavy with negative leverage like that by swinging it and using that momentum to lift it rather than just immediately lifting it, fighting gravity and inertia simultaneously. Since the SVI animation doesn't have that and starts in an upright position, it immediately loses that sense of weight regardless of the other aspects of the animation or sound effects. That being said, I am a big fan of the little wood-on-wood clink sound that they play when the hammer appears in the SVI animation.
SV’s Wood Hammer, mainly due to the slight contrast in a slight shaded tone on the mallet, plus it is known to glitch multiple mallets simultaneously in Tera Raid Battles, namely from Trevenant.
Sword and Shield is just more pleasing aesthetically, the simplicity of the cel-shaded models and textures helped the game run well with next to no aliasing or slowdown while still looking pretty nice, Scarlet and Violet look like ass and run like it too, and mostly due to things we didn't really need like a dynamic combat camera which is pointless because battles are still turn-based.
The fact that most pokémon have textures is the most valuable increase in graphics in my opinion, the only issue is actually the FPS that is ridiculous and make the game ugly and bugged sometimes
okay but you have to admit that the game's performance has gotten better since the last few updates. It might be still buggy as hell, but if it keeps going at this rate then one day the game will offically be free from performance issues
@@treeman7687 Honestly i did not feel much of a difference, but maybe thats because i tend to play way more online then "overworld" in general, but im glad they are actually trying to improve, thats nice! I feel like they should of just stuck with a cell shaded art style like the DS games, it looks better, I feel like it suits the pokemon and characters more and it would be way better for the graphics and aesthetic since all the textures would be more consistent, making the game look better over all, cause while the pokemon and character models look more detailed the world around them looks like it's a console generation apart, just makes the game look off, honestly is one of the two major things that killed the experience for me, I never even got to the first gym it was that bad to me
the SV animation for Wood Hammer kinda looks like it hasn't rendered in fully, which makes it look cool and all, but the SwSh animation is definitley better; and with Spikey Shield, the animation in SV looks a bit more, distant, the animation is farther away than in SwSh, but besides that they look exactly the same, XY animation still rules though
With all due respect I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. The wood hammer animation is arguably better in sword and shield. The texture detail is no different but honestly the model for the hammer looks better and it objectively has better lighting plus the spin in the animation is cool. For Spikey shield I really cannot even see a difference. If anything this video makes S/V look even worse because there's no reason it should look arguably worse than the last game. I prefer S/V as games over SW/SH but they do honestly look even worse.
His grass shield animation is in the game because I saw him do it when he was putting up a Tera shield last night. Why didn't they associate that whenever he uses Spikey Shield?! That's so stupid
Chesnaugt uses the same spiky shield animation in Tera raids if you fail. REALLY weird they didn’t just use the animation that is already there for the move…

Legends arceus was a better game, and being the "best" switch game doesn't mean much when it's opposition is a (beautifully made) Kanto remake, the dumpster fire that is sword/shield, the worst pokemon remake to ever exist, and legends arceus, which was a fun game despite having a very empty overworld. Scarlet and violet handled the overworld better than PLA, and has the first true multiplayer in the overworld, instead of being restricted to the Wild Area, but that's all it has going for it.

If Pokemon could get a few more specific animations for certain moves or something like that, that would make a huge difference to me
Such a shill. Chesnaught’s signature animation with Spiky Shield has been cut, I couldn’t give af about if the actual attack animation looks slightly better than last Gen. That’s like the minimum of what they should do lmao

My personal opinion is that the animations of scarlet and violet are really bad for now, in sword and shield they were so beautiful for example the move of cinderace and others❤
Sorry but as much as I like SV, the animations are just not good. Chesnaught doesn't even have his unique shield in his Spikey shield animation in X and Y.
Chestnaut's unique shield animation from the X/Y puts the S/V animations to shame.
