My brother's favorite movie was In Bruges. My brother hated so many movies. Always negative commentary but he loved In Bruges. He killed himself. My perfect, handsome brother. He looked like Colin Farrel and Orlando Bloom had a baby. He was beautiful. He was also very sad. As sad as he was beautiful, maybe. I couldn't decide what to watch tonight. My Saturday night, Wednesday to normal people and this pops up. It's like my brother is here. I don't even mean spiritually necessarily. I just mean, my love for him is so strong that it creates something palpable in the air. This movie gave me that feeling. It won't matter if it's good or bad. I'm watching it and for a very small amount of time, I'm devastated by loss and overwhelmed by joy. Joy being a bittersweet emotion that only recalls what's missing when times are best. This trailer sent me spiraling so now let's see what the movie does.

On the same day I watched this film, my boyfriend said he didn't love me anymore. He simply continued being happy, but I wasn't part of his happiness anymore. The incomprehension, denial, distress, anger, despair, resignation. And you start questioning who you are. All the emotions I went through were so beautifully depicted in the film, with great accuracy. It truly blew me away.

In In Bruges, it’s Gleeson’s character trying to cheer up Farrell’s character and being relentless in doing so, whereas in Banshees of Inisherin, it’s Farrell’s character doing the relentless “cheering up” kinda. That's what Colin Farrell's character does, just being a good man who has his daily routine, including with his best friend, and just doesn't understand how his best friend just decided out of the blue that doesn't mean anything anymore, and even prefers the company of an abusive police officer, including sexually on his own mentally impaired son. Basically his best friend went completely insane, and everyone else just accepts it, except for him being his best friend. He struggles with his losses of his best friend, then his pet donkey, and then his lifelong caretaker sister that just decides to change her life accepting a job as a librarian off of the island. He stays on the island remaining loyal to nobody who really cares about him, instead of accepting to go with his sister, who tells him she's ready to take care of him off of the island.

Good films don’t have a message, or a point. Good films like these entrust and lean on profound questions that leave you thinking and pondering about the experience the film provided well after the movie ended. I don’t like when people ask or request for “the message” or “the point” of a good film.

It's a symbolic film concerning the Irish civil war of 1922-23 in which friends and indeed brothers took different sides in the war which left a scar on Irish society for 40 yrs. I think Farrell represented the side that got a free state of 26 counties from Britain and Gleeson the IRA who were dissatisfied with the treaty . Both sides committed terrible atrocities on each other . I didnt really enjoy the plot of the movie but great acting ok,,,,,,

A bit of an oddity of a film, steeped in allegory, one that will stay with you long after it’s finished.

I'm I the only one that didn't like this film. I mean I get it , homeboy is sad and clueless about what is going on and the other one is cruel to the point where he can't point from one hand lol. I feel I wasted 2 hours of my life.

Nothing spectacular, Nothing new. Old Rope anyone for Old Rope.
Over did it with the trailers and nudging and winking it was gonna sweep the board at the Petersons'.
😂😂😂 fell on its inadequate arse.
