Colin Farrell is indeed a kind man. He traveled through our little Arkansas town, he didn't hide in his vehicle, he was gracious and visited with every single person who recognized him. Lets hope he wins!
He's so wonderful in the film!
@@mr29 As an actor he was wonderful, but his character on the film, all things considered, was not that wonderful.
@@VILJL His character is "simple" if that is the word. Uncomplicated. He had his farm, his animals, his sister and his friend. He didn't reach for more because he didn't think he needed more. To my way of thinking he had a little bit of a fool's paradise. He was happy and content, so he assumed everyone else was. It wasn't until his friend brought him up short that he saw life was not what he thought it was. WE all sometimes have the blinders pulled off.
So good to hear that about him. He seems like a nice, kind of down to earth type guy.
He visited them? At their home lol?
a haunting film about friendships, loss, mortality and stunning Irish scenery!
and civil war/division
It's one of those movies that sticks with you, long after it's over. The impressive thing about Colin Farrell is his ability to express the emotion his character is feeling with his expressions. When Padraic is confused,, unhappy, angry or happy, it shows on Colin's face.
Colin Farrell seems gracious and kind. Look how he puts his arm behind Tracy to guide her down the walkway.
I saw that, that was so sweet, what a gentleman.
These are two gentle men. And it shows on and off screen. *_"Banshees of Inisherin"_* is a masterpiece.
Brendan Gleeson is the most stunning fantastic actor and grossly underrated. His portrayal of Michael Collins in The Treaty over 30 years ago was masterful.
Ah, for someone with an Irish name I'm surprised at your lack of knowledge girl (only joking, kind of!), it was Liam Neeson that portrayed the big fella.
Gleason was great in The Treaty I remember watching it as a child. He did a great West Cork accent, for ages I thought he was from Cork. It was an RTÉ production, I wonder if it’s on UA-cam or the rte player?
@E K Liam Neeson played Michael Collins in the movie of the same name which Brendan also played Liam Tobin but Brendan played Collins in the 1991 movie The Treaty.
@@ainesheehan Yes, The Treaty 1991 is on YT!
ua-cam.com/video/RUfr0FgZz_8/v-deo.html
@Áine Sheehan Ya,I'd agree. He did a great job in fairness. Don't know if it's on UA-cam mind.
I’m so happy they both got nominated, it’s about damn time!
I love these two men. I'm SO PROUD of Colin, though. The first time I notice his amazing acting talent was a small role as a country and western singer in the film 'Crazy Heart' with Jeff Bridges and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Everything he did, from that moment on, was AMAZING. I always look forward to any film starring either of them. I hope they continue partnering up on the screen from time to time. Their chemistry should not be contained.
Brendan Gleeson is an accomplished musician. Watch for him in "Cold Moutain." Colin is smart, talented, has a great sense of humor and is cute as a button!
I forgot that role he played. With Jack White!
@@samanthab1923 Indeed! Very cool combo..,
Brendan Gleeson great in Gangs of New York.
@@letawall8590loved him in Cold Mountain.
Love these two men and their great performances in the movie. But a shout out to Barry Keoghan who just blew me away.
All the comments about this film being "boring", "cliche" and "stupid" are very telling. We have a generation of people so shallow that they aren't able to discover metaphor unless it's shoved in their faces.
O I do agree. There is such thematic depth in this film.
Only stupid people make generalisations about entire generations like that: the film wouldn't be Oscar nominated if it hadn't resonated with audiences
@@sabrina63 And yet a ton of people under the age of 30 write these comments. It's not stupid if it's fact. If you find it insulting, too bad.
@@sabrina63 as you will read in many places there is a love-hate response to EEAAO starting with Sundance. I agree its résonance probably comes from a younger audience who likely prefer entertainment over art. Let’s take Elvis, Top Gun, Avatar over Tar , Banshees and Fabelmans. Movies over film. Fun over thought-provoking. Level of film sophistication?
True. , And very difficult to know which side of the divide the 2 characters occupied. Maybe it was meant to be difficult, in fact, as I write I'm realising why it absolutely had to be difficult to work.
Irish people are one the most kindest and friendliest people on earth. ☘️
I can guarantee we're not, we're moody & that alcohol thing isn't just a stereotype & we don't tan well either.
you never visited Ireland, I"m sure about it.
Colin ! what a gent! You saw him guide the interviewer, at the start of this clip, take care of the interviewer as they walked forward. True GENT!
I love Brendan Gleeson!!! Absolutely adore him, I do and watching those two Irish lads light up the screen for me is just pure magic!! Bravo to them both!!!
Brendan Gleeson is an international treasure.
He was great in Cold Mountain.
I just can’t get enough of these guys talking. That accent ❤❤❤❤
What delightful chemistry!
Just came home from watching it in theaters. This film is BRUTAL. And it doesn't contain any horror scenes. It's just BRUTAL. And I love it.
Amazing movie. So beautiful and witty.
These two! The most talented + with such gorgeous voices.
Voices or accents?
@@IndieRockerHippy voices, mellifluous and strong. Watch them, especially in Colin movies where he speaks Standard English, west Texan, East London, regional Irish dialect, and New York City. Lovely to hear them in native accent too.
These two should have a podcast. I could listen to them ramble all day.
Thé video interviews have me howling. Their senses of humor are ❤️
Majoritatea parerilor celor care au văzut filmul sunt bune ,pozitive. Este un film despre
Absolutely Mad these two. A magical film.
Brendan was nearly unrecognizable in "Braveheart" as well with his hirsute face!
Colin the sweetest the best.he talked about being sober...he is sending an important message while talking about important values such as friendship and kindness and respect and giving the right importance to fame. Amazing.always loved him
Masterpiece of film making. I’ve seen it twice
I've seen it thrice
We’ve seen it 5 times! Just this week in the theater. This will be another classic like In Bruges. Always rewatchable.
Colin... He makes me adore him even more. Falling in love with him everyday.
After watching Banshees its so great to see these two getting along!
Lovely film, full of change, grief and acceptance.
I am so happy for these two!
I just hope we don't have to wait another decade and a half to see them together, again, on the big screen.
Thank you , what great inteview, this what makes Ireland great place to visit !Can't wait to see it !
Not the movie you think its going to be. While it looks pretty and has its mild charms, its a real misery and if anything tells the story of why so many chose to leave.
??? Living on an island, ambivalent to the civil war, THIS is what caused the diaspora? And the film is about two men’s lifelong friendship breaking up and its consequences, the Civil War a mild allusion. Poverty is what caused the mass migration over generations.
In Bruge is one of my favorite movies.
I saw it and I'll never forget it
Beautiful cinema! Love the writer and director Martin McDonagh.
So glad he brought the back together
Hate to do this but Paula, it's McDonagh. 😉
@E K more like McDoh!, am I right?!?
@@EMMYK1916oh, didn't see it thanks!
one of this year's best!! everyone should watch this!
Fantastic film. No bombs, violence, blood and guts. The drama is intense and so is the love and humour. I've seen it several times and get something new each viewing.
A truly unique movie, one with heart and soul. I've seen in several times already and will revisit again and again.
There is... Quite a bit of blood
What film are you talking about, Tish>?>
Because there are bombs in The Banshees of Inisherin.
There's plenty of blood and violence as well.
If you don’t consider dismembering a hand violent, then sure.
Few could get through this miserable slog "several times".
Highly overrated.
Here in Cannes he offered his coat to freezing Rachel Weisz and, two years later, he climbed the stairs with a trembling Nicole Kidman... he is a real gentleman!
On a Jessica Chastain western I met an extra who claimed he introduced Colin to the difference between red and green chile on the set of Crazy Heart. He carried Alexander and The New World with old school aplomb, good in True Detective, really taps into the forlorn Irish soul in Inisheran. Butler will probably get it, but it should really be Ferrell.
Charm at it's best. Who can resist them.
I'm still processing this movie. Funny and sad. My modern day self found it hard to not have a bunch of action and no real resolution. But I liked looking at Colin and thankful for home viewing with captioning.
Watching it a second time made the dialogue much clearer! We have friends who watched it with closed captions lol We all love it!
Ireland 'The Island of Saints and Scholars .......................and ACTORS , and MUSICIANS and lots of decent human beings
who always seem to enjoy each others company and the CRAIC . Thank God fot the IRISH they are a great bunch . Well done lads . Get the world to try a good laugh every now and again .
We can also be complete arseholes though
@@IndieRockerHippy Goes without saying. Cheers.
Well said David !
Best film of the past four years
Tracy is so good at this
Oscar for him please ❤
And her too.
And wish Brendan/Barry could split one!
Delighted for both of them. While I think the supporting actor award is probably out of Brendan and Barry's reach this time, I really hope that Collin takes the main actors award on Oscar night. Same goes for the International Film award to go to The Quiet Girl (An Cailin Ciuin). What a lovely night that would be for Irish acting and just the country as a whole for two particularly Irish films. The Quiet Girl had me in tears when I watched it on the flight back to NY after Christmas. Absolutely gorgeous film!!
An Cailín Cúin, (you must never forget a fada when writing Irish) is a really beautiful short. Hope it's a good night for us, ti's rare we get there.
@@EMMYK1916 always forget how to add? My first name is missing the fada whenever I type it.
@Rheinmeister09 Apologies, I thought you were Irish & was scolding you (jokingly) about leaving out the accent. If not Irish, just doing my job in promoting my lovely language, for anyone interested the fada is a diacritic mark, added to any vowel when appropriate, omitting a fada is more than a grammatical mistake. A missing fada can completely change the meaning of a word. For my name, the fada is on my É, hold down the letter, you'll get a few options, fada is second one in, bottom row, and you should easily find it... hope that helps. Tabhair aire. É😉🇮🇪
@@EMMYK1916 It's An Cailín Ciúin not An Cailín Cúin!
An Cailín Ciuín is based on Claire Keegan’s novella ‘Foster’. A little gem of a book. It’s a book I will keep. Also her book ‘Small things like these’ was so good too. She has the ability to use a minuscule paragraph of words to set a scene or a conversation that resonates to the heart.
Banshees is a visceral, real movie with such heart and grace. It's funny, sad, depressing.
I am definitely going to see this movie because I love both of them
The movie has amazing scenery, good acting, and a depressing script.
It’s McDonagh. Like Beckett, a master of the absurd tragicomedy. Sad but satisfying at the end.
Now this is the one movie that I would love ❤️ to see!
I loved this movie. So hope it wins.
This was a great film.
I loved the movie!!! I loved the story!!! I loved the scenery!! I swear if I could live in one of those houses by the sea I’d die a happy man.
Crazy to think they built the pub from scratch.
I never read anything about movies or watch previews before I watch them. I want to know nothing about it... not even genre, if possible. I just like to sit down and be told a story and let it unfold in front of me without any preconceived notions.
This movie was such a surprise! It went places I didn't anticipate and I love that! It made me contemplate the complexity of human nature. Thank you!
Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell, two Irish treasures.......with so many more coming up behind them.
These 2 remind me of my Irish relatives.
Just saw this film Excellent.
This movie took me by surprise and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I've never heard Colin speak with his Irish accent. I love being surprised by so many actors lately where I'm used to their American accent, then see interviews where their natural accent is Australian, Irish, Scottish, and English
Thanks for showing 2 normal guys being friends only
Two of the best We ever had.
I really need to watch this film
Colin is amazing in a Canadian TV series on the BBC now called The North Water. Just an incredible performance. And Mr. Gleeson in The General from some years ago is equally astounding. Kind men. Craftsmen of the highest caliber. No lousy talk of politics.
The North Water was buried here on a weak streaming service. So sad, no one saw it but diehards like me. Luckily it’s now available on Amazon Prime Video. I bought the dvd and we bought it streaming. Farrell is extraordinary.
Great film - took my girlfriend to it for her birthday and we both had such a great cinematic experience.
Brendan Gleeson gave an outstanding performance as Churchill in the HBO movie/doc Into the Storm (2009). Notable as he also gave a fine performance as Churchill's arch-nemesis Michael Collins in The Treaty 1991. He did a fine Trump (if there's such a thing as a 'fine Trump) in The Comey Rule 2020.
I loved the movie. Colin deserves the Oscar for his thoughtful, moving and often funny performance. I'm sure Austin Butler will win, but I truly believe Colin should be the winner.
Colin had the best year out of any actor, 4 amazing performances 🙌🏼
You never know though. Austin was amazing as well but who knows
I've been a fan of the lovely Colin Farrell since he appeared on Ballykissangel....it periodically appears on BBC America or PBS.
Have never seen it here on BBC America! They show ridiculous and old programs. Would love to see Ballykissangel. They took him out of drama school for it 😊
These tao deserved an Oscar each after so many perfect performances especially the last one Colin was great
I couldn't help but look at Tracy Smith's walk and see her struggling with pain in those heals. Although her legs are fantastic looking. Painful shoes must be the price women have to pay to be successful A list reporters. Thank You Tracy that a wonderful interview.
I loved the donkey!
Jenny!!!🐴😭💔
@@sandtats So sad when she... spoiler alert !
@@CollieJenn Thank you! Some people have not been so considerate!
Makes me want to see the movie on line when it comes out.
It's on HBO Max right now.
Seriously dont bother.
It's not a good movie. Unless you like school yard BS from grade school
@@cheri7054 shall we let Suzanne watch it and find out for herself? It’s a fascinating character study, beautifully written, acted and photographed…All ingredients for an excellent grown-up movie.
@@tkusterb I don't agree with you.She can watch it but for me it wasn't worth my time. I want to see adults being adults and not depressed someone rejects another. That's life. Move with your Damn sister and get a life.
The movie was heartbreaking. I had to pause and watch it in small bits.
We were so happy McDonagh followed every dark scene with a hilarious one! Whenever we see it on HBO, the confessional scene and the crashing bread van one still double us up laughing. A true tragicomedy!
@@mgariepy42 Watch The Lobster. Colin Farrell is in that as well.
We need another movie of them just being lads
Excellent work lads. Voting ya
Very surprised, I’ve not seen the movie but am definitely going to. ❤
I loved In Bruges

Best movie of the year
Excelente ator COLIN FARRELL , amei a interpretação dele, foi impecável. Parabéns COLIN FARRELL por seu desempenho, muito sucesso pra ele. ❤
i watched this flick,it was an outstanding performance by all,it was kinda weird, funny....
A tragicomedy, McDonagh’s trademark. It’s absurd, a gut puncher and hilarious. We’ve been talking about it since 1st watch in November trying to figure out the ending! Counting Wednesday when we saw it in theater we’ve watched it 6 times!
Bromance since Bruges.
i loved this movie❤
❤❤❤love Collin
Great movie! Now my go-to movie when I need a good cry.
❤ Colin Farrell (Padraic)
💗 Kerry Condon (Siobhan)
❤ Brendan Gleeson (Colm)
❤ Martin McDonagh
(Writer/Director)
Barry Keoghan as well
I’ve watched it 5 x for the wonderful dark humor!
And a good laugh! I love thé way McDonagh interweaves the funny and the sad scenes so seamlessly. True emotional whiplash! Mrs O’Riordan’s quest for news scenes reminded us of one of our Irish aunts: Sure, I know I’d beat the little ballocks too if I weren’t old. 😂
I know it’s Irish, but it has a Dostoyevsky vibe. I would love to see brothers karamosov in movie form.
Hey now...Mr. Mercedes, don't forget. Thanks, Steven King.
Gleeson reminds me of me dad. Irish, redheaded and smart. When he arches his eye brows he's a dead ringer
Hey brother Colin I'm the same age as you, so I grew up watching me and following your career bro it's so cool to see how genuinely humble you are now. I pray for that you win that Oscar. 🙏💯👍

Braveheart forever. Peace ✌️ 2023
Both should win
The friendship is sincere. The movie is beyond insulting in its racist stereotypes. I loved them in In Bruges. They should have spoken up about what's wrong with this film. They must know. Gleeson's body language from 7:18 on is telling.
