Ralph Fiennes would have made a great James Bond in his younger days.
He does play M.
"I love ya unreservedly for all that..."
"...wot?" 😆
I watched this and decided that I'm going to bruges for my 50th birthday so myself and 5 lad's went and had the best craic ever. Great people and a fantastic place 👏
The quick smile he does after saying he can't shoot him. He was really happy he didn't have to kill his friend. Is sweet. Fantastic acting all round.
I'm very happy they sorted their differences out, im sure they will have a happy friendship for years to come
They didn't have a happy ending.
After all, Voldemort killed Moody
Gleeson and Farrell are a power duo when they share the screen. Ralph Fiennes is the cherry on top of the creative cake. This movie is a masterpiece. Comedic gold.
I thought Fiennes stole every scene in this movie and in shindlers list.
@@timmydonlon3458 he is incredibly brilliant, isn’t he? I agree with you.
@@timmydonlon3458 He's great in The Menu, too.
Thank god for censoring this video. God forbid my mind be blemished by some naughty words in this otherwise family friendly cult classic.
Yes this clip from the most warmhearted Christmas flick of all-time needed the naughty words bleeped out but don’t mind the kneecapping scene at the end or the sounds of the brutal beating given to the obnoxious tower guard 😂
It was a Collin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson movie but my man stole it right away the minute he appeared on screen....❤
He stole it when he left a message at the hotel and it was read aloud in his voice! Ralph was so great in his limited time that even not being on screen he owned it 😎
"You were down at the PAWHHHKK?"
What’s that got to do with anything!?!?
Let me get this straight
THAT'S GOING OVERBOARD MATE!
You're suicidal. I'm suicidal. We're all suicidal. We don't keep going on about it.
Ken throws himself from the tower to warn Ray and pass him the gun. Harry kills himself because he thinks he shot a kid. Amazing bit of foreshadowing
U WOT M8??
What I didn’t catch the first time is when he says “this gets f-ing worse!” and the does that weird motion with his head and eyes. What that means is there was a maitress who was there at that moment and that was a sign he wanted a beer too.
This is the best comedy of cinematic history. This comedy does not try to make you laugh yet you have more fun watching In Bruges than watching romantic comedies or any other comedies.
I honestly can say this is up there with that scene between Pacino and De Niro in "Heat", in terms of writing quality and acting ability
I'll give it to this, due to the background being better..
No way, man, this is x10 times better. Heat is a classic, though
In Bruges is definitely a better film, but damn is that cafe scene in Heat brilliant.
He says "I'm suicidal, you're suicidal" They both end up killing themselves.
Ralph Fiennes must have just watched Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast just before he filmed this 🤣
deffo
it's nice that harry got to see bruges before he killed himself
He went out on the same day that he got to see the famous alcoves & swans. Beautiful 😭
@@josephsalmonte4995 Do you use this word? Alcoves?
One of my favorite movies in the last 20 years. Great writing and acting.
Which sounds like would have solved the boy's problem... I love this line
Goodfellas used to be my favorite movie
Ahhhh it beings me joy to cross paths with a fellow traveller
Voldemort with this accent is most amusing to hear.
Outstanding Actors !
The Dialogues 👌
Thanks Focus ;)
The Harry Potter films are a bit different to what I remembered.
I retracted it didn't I!
Lol the bare min
Ralph Fiennes has convincingly played some of the most EVIL film characters in the last 30 years, but it still amazes me that he can pull off a charmingly-funny murderer like Harry. When I was watching Schindler's List for the first time in 1993, at no point did I think "I bet this Amon Göth actor can be charmingly funny!"
I love this movie!
I'd love to know what Eric the Skinhead was thinking when he saw Harry Waters "closing" the tower off. Was he thinking about having a go at him? If he was, he soon thought better of it.
Beware the Alcoves 😂😂
Such a great movie. So many great lines
It would be great to be able to viciously insult people then just say "I retract it" afterwards, and everything is forgiven.
this movie muddles along in an almost plain and simple fashion. it is a masterpiece.
it is the standard in all of movie making on how to not waste a single second of screen time.
on a side note. has anyone EVER seen a movie that gleeson is in that is also shit? because i cant think of a single one.
Contrary to your question, the guard is fantastic.
The Best Film EVER...Whit some of the craziest dialogs of all time...:))))
I watched this movie over 10 times when it came out. Fucking brilliant !
Mad-eye and He-who-must-be-named
And Grindelwald
And Fleur Delacour
@@james0603 That little midget fella probably plays one of the goblins from Harry Potter too
Fiennes doing his best Ben Kingsley, there.
THE. TOWER. IS. CLOSED. THIS. EVENING!
surreal but wonderful
Voldemort and Moody having a beer
Great moive
Great movie
A proper gentleman
This is the movie that completely redefined my understanding of what a "dark comedy" is. It's fucking hilarious while being so unexpectedly heart-breaking.
Thanks for censoring the scene. So much better this way. Not like the guys are literal killers. And talk about killing a kid which actually happened. But lets censor the swear words. What's important is that cardi b can "sing" about wap
Robert fucking Powell 😂
It’s touching how they have a little laugh about Juri despite the fact that Harry’s there to kill Ken
Too many great quotes. Fantastic scene. Great writing executed well.
why would you censor this scene
In fairness to Focus Features - its probably more so they aren't punished by UA-cam or advertisers.
Because swearing hurts delicate American ears 😂
Ray:"....cause your fookin elephants .."
Classic
He wasn't bein' funny
He inspires.
The boy..... WHO LIVED.⚡
Perfect comment
lol
He avada kedavara'd himself
At 1:50 he says "Lemme get this wrong." I just heard it for the first time after watching the movie and the scene so many times. Did he actually hope to get the whole situation wrong because of how unbelievably stupid it sounded from his perspective as a professional hitman? Haha, it kinda cracks me up now that I realize. This movie's dialogue just keeps on giving on every rewatch. Brilliant!
He says right not wrong, it’s just the cockney accent
no he absolutely says let me get this wrong as in please let what I just understood to be wrong.@@user11847
@@user11847damn you are actually right, different accents are amazing
forgot what a sweet ending this movie had
how dare he. that's voldemort's kids he's insulting.
He retracted it, didn't he?
I have been to Bruges in spring last year and they were absolutely right: it is a fairytale place
G"day John
A little too premenstrual, boys. But, nobody's perfect😊
All i see is madeye and voldemort. i did just finish watching hp
youtube censorship is like 1936 germany.
Except nobody will look back on UA-cam and realise it was right.
@@rubensano4860why not? People are stupid enough to be nazis still
Actually nothing like that
Lord Voldemort
WYS
Nobody does dialogue like the Brits.
Emm this is more or less an Irish movie.
@@timmydonlon3458 Written by an English dude.
@@jasonlewis3742 written by a man born in england to irish parents, and he spent a lot of his childhood in the west of Ireland.
2023-10-27 ... OK ... Question !!! Did Ralph actually shoot the other guy? It looks like Ralph did, but it was purposely a non-lethal shot ???
Yes he shoots him in the leg because he could not simply do nothing but they are still friendly. They both walk down the stairs to get medical help for the other guy. Then they hear Ray/Colin Farrell is alive and in a bar downstairs. Then they fight again in the church staircase to get first to Ray and the other guy is shot in the neck, lethal shot this time. Watch the movie it's very much worth it.
