I suffer from really bad sleep deprevation which causes me to have siezures through the night or the next day. And I feel tired, dizzy, have an aching body from head to toe. And I also get tension headaches and cluster headaches. I also can't function or concentrate and need to sleep all day every day until I recover.

I wish you were my wife. I need to live with someone who understands completely what I go through 4 times a week. And when I am off, I am in my room all day recovering.

I wasn't aware that nocturnal seizures were this common. I've been dealing with them for 32 years.

TLE with nocturnal convulsions. Every once in a while daytime. I also didn't know they were common until about ten years after my diagnosis. Crazy.

Sadly epilepsy and any-seizures meds cause chronic insomnia - bit of a vicious cycle 😔

Thank you for sharing your story; its helpful and informative.
I experience nocturnal seizures without having epilepsy. After many tests of the brain, I only got inconclusive results without any trace of epilepsy. I wonder if what I have is psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES)?
My wife has found me on the floor, eyes rolled up, unresponsive, etc. Although it could be unrelated, I also get visual and tactile hallucinations, and I talk loudly in my sleep, waking up everyone at home .
Any and all advice will be much appreciated.
    Thank you!

Im sorry to hear you are having seizures at night. You should get this further investigated as nocturnal seizures do pose certain risks and it would be good to stop these happening. I would suggest you get a sleep study done to outrule any sleep disorders, as sometimes sleep parasomnias can mimic focal seizures and occasionally sleep apnoea can cause a seizure. Some types of epilepsies can be difficult to detect and have unusual symptoms like hallucinations or talking jibberish. From your description, and the fact your seizures are during sleep, it is unlikely these are PNES. If you have an epilepsy centre near you, I would advise seeing an epilepsy specialist to get to the bottom of things. Several days of ambulatory EEG may be needed. I hope you can get a clearer picture and diagnosis soon.

@@EPILEPSYTV Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and recommendations, very helpful indeed. I'm scheduled for a sleep study in a couple of weeks and I'll definitely be looking for an epilepsy center to explore this further. Once again, thank you!

I have been using the oxetol 450 and frisium 10 mg for more than 1 year and gradually it reduced my seizures so doc reduced the dose to oxetol 300 and frisuim 5 mg it controlled my seizures and she gave me only oxetol 300 to use for 1 year but in this session im getting triggers and i often got seizures

I’ve got 2 hours in the last 5 days. I’ve been having a lot of focal aware seizures and lots of myoclonic seizures but so far haven’t had a tonic clonic yet. What can I do besides meditation or melatonin which literally has no effect?

but what if you sleep to much cause my mom is saying i am sleeping to much and that is what is probably causing more of my seizures is cause she says i sleep during the day and at night

    • @micahy.6190

Probably need to go together to have a discussion with your neurologist specifically about this issue and what you can do together to create a better sleeping schedule, whatever that may be. Afternoon naps help me significantly some days or weeks, so if your mom understands that, maybe things will get a lot better for you. GL
