  • This video shows a rather unique Shimano Triton Speedster with hue Fighting Drag system. I show how it works, how to take it apart and how to keep it serviced. This reel was a west coast flea market find sent in by Scott.
    I have been servicing #fishing #reels for over 25 years and am sharing my experiences here. If you enjoy the video, please like it and subscribe to see more on fishing #reel repair and service

    Great video Dennis! I've been waiting for this fine tutorial on how to get a peek inside and how to service this Trion Speedmaster with the fighting system. Also, a shout out to Scott in California for providing his great reel to 2nd Chance tackle.

      Heading out next week for the BFT/YFT. Hopefully we will be "catching" and not "fishing!" Will bring Shimano and Penn Intl...

    Ace work Dennis 👏👏 as you say ,the II is common here in the 🇬🇧 ,the III&IV less so ,but they're a cracking reel..the II in particular is a very fast casting reel ,you need to either play about with oils in the spool bearings to slow them down ,a lot get modded with a monomag ,makes them a very usable beach reel

    Those are my favorite reels from my pier rat days. I still have the TSMII, TSMIII and the TSMIV, great reels. The TSMII is my favorite of them all, can't pass it up when I find one out in the wild.
    Your channel is so helpful, thank you!!

    Perfect! I’m about to service my mint TSM11CFS.
    I’ve not used it in 15 years since I moved away from the sea. But it’s getting used this month. I have a Blakdog mag conversion that keeps it tamed.
    I’m a tad rusty on stripping the fs drag and gearbox, hence I am very grateful for your video. 👍

    I have been looking for a video dealing with a fightin star drag assembly. I have a LH Bantum magnumlite speedmaster BSM-2201FS. It's in excellent condition all the paint looks great and it functions beautifully. Thank you for the video!

    Hi Dennis great job on the video you don't see these reels very often

    • @2ndChanceTackle
      @2ndChanceTackle  Рік тому

      No, these reels are from the late 1980s and are relatively rare. They did not sell many to begin with, so they are harder to find than others of the time - Dennis

    I’ve never seen this one before. Thanks for sharing it. You know how much I like unusual reels. - Chris PS. Dennis, do you remember those rare Mer 52 Punch reels from France that I got a few years ago? I finally found someone who knew the history of those reels. I’ll send you an email about it. This eBsy seller sent me three documents in French about those reels.

    The drag parts keep on getting stuck due to......where the handle seats onto the brass driveshaft it causes a mushroom effect due to the handle being tightened and moving over the years.....use a fine file to remove the excess on the handle seat shoulders on the driveshaft👍

      What you are describing is due to broken, worn or missing drag washers. If you replace the drag washers, the problem should go away - Dennis
