I think if he’d tried to ask ‘where are my vestments’ in one question, they would’ve still given him a brief and vague answer like the other ones (even vaguer because it was a more general question), and he wouldn’t be able to ask follow ups
To answer why Dream didn't ask an all encompassing question to the fates: You saw how they were answering him and he knows them well enough, if he had asked them a massive question they'd probably give him the most confusing and useless answer known to man and he'd just wind up worse off than he was asking all three as he did.
Ye figures like the Fates in most media tend to be assholes when it comes to vague bs 💀
You're right. And I find it so annoying when people think they could "solve the issue" while completely missing the point of the whole interaction. Can you imagine the answer Dream would've gotten if he asked "where's my stuff?" Useless would be a compliment.

Dreams and Nightmares can't Die, except by Morpheus Absorbing them. This is why he's the only one he fears.
Neil Gaiman stated that they had issues with the rights to John Constantine, so what they did is they used Johanna Constantine, which is his ancestor and Morpheus actually meets up with her in the comics during his meetings with Hob.
I think Jenna Coleman did a really good job but I will always think its a shame Matt Ryan didn't get the chance to shine again as Constantine in a properly dark and well-made show

I'm always down for more Jenna Coleman, and she definitely killed it. Seeing Matt would've been just as enjoyable, though. That man really has the character in him.
The thing is: the Fates were vague as shit, yes. But they also gave him all the information he actually needed. You’ll see more of what I mean in the coming episodes, but the information they gave is just enough for Dream to get his tools back. The extra questions were just him trying to weasel out a little more information if possible.
Honestly they were pretty clear compared to what Lucienne seemed to fear. They gave him decent leads, not straight up riddles.

@@GeoX242 (Spoiler Alert) They used to be his in-laws. I'm pretty sure he's gotten a good amount of practice in getting them to give him at least SOMETHING useful. But, yeah, asking them "where's my stuff" Would have just gotten him a general "They are strewn across the globe, and across realms." Which, let's be honest, would help you like 0%. One thing is in Britain, the next in hell, and the third one in the US. And that is three answers and not one.

John Dee is an old school Justice League villain who goes by Doctor Destiny. Neil Gaiman originally wanted to use the Joker, but ultimately decided to rework Doctor Destiny into a mystical character rather than a scientific one. He's a dope villain, it's a shame that these days he really only shows up as a background character in Arkham.

The snake, reminds me of Ouroboros which is a never ending snake devouring their own body. Death. Life. And Rebirth.
Snakes are generally seen like that in a many cultures throughout time because they shed their skin which was seen as renewal.

@@katara2021 Snakes are also related to dragons and sea serpents. They represent the oceans that circle the earth. Hence the Ouroboros shape. The sea and oceans were thought to be part of the chaotic void before creation. Like the waters that Yahweh hovered over in genesis. and as such, it also represented something vast and infinite.. something endless.
an ouroboros with one twist in it represents Infinity to this day. Infinity means, immortality and as such power over death, life, and rebirth.

Dream had to ask the questions like that because if He asked: "where is all my stuff" The would respond very vaguely with an answer that sums everything up like: "They have all traded hands from the one who stole them" So he had to ask specifically about each.

Cain and Abel if I remember right they were the first sons to Adam and Eve or something. The brothers had their own farmstead and think cain raised sheep and Abel did something else. They wanted to give gifts to god, god liked Abel gift more and out of jealousy Cain killed his brother. He buried him in the soil of their farm and it brought him back to life.
What Abel tells to the new gargoyle is interesting about family. Despite how Cain is and they fight Abel still cares for him since they are family. Family fight each other once in a while but they are still important to be together. Now this varies since it’s different for everyone circumstances and eBay happens.
Abel raised sheep and Cain was the farmer. The both burned offerings to God and God preferred the blood sacrifice.
The story in the bible was that Cain was a farmer and Abel was a shepherd. When they brought gifts to the God , Abel brought meat and Cain brought vegetables
God likes meat more so Cain got jealous and killed Abel. Later God try to make Cain repent by asking him "Where is your brother?" Cain tried to deflect the question by telling "I'm not my brother keeper". For murder God cursed Cain with immortality and put a mark on him so everyone will know what he did.
Another part of Cain’s punishment was to be “cursed from the ground” for trying to hide Abel’s body in it, so even the soil itself hinders any of his personal efforts to farm. That’s why he’s so annoyed while gardening, right before Morpheus arrives.

That sounds like something nice to imagine, but it flies in the face of every ancient sacrificial tradition the entire world over. There are zero "vegetable sacrifice" cultures in human history anywhere.

Loved seeing David Thewlis in this show, can't wait for y'all to see more of him (he gets imo the show's best episode). He was also played one of T.V's best villains as V.M Varga in Fargo :)

It’s probably already been mentioned, but in the comics John Dee, Aka, Dr. Destiny is locked up in Arkham Asylum and was placed there by the justice league.
John Dee was also the name of Queen Elizabeth the First's astronomer/magician/alchemist which is cool though maybe I'm reaching and it's a coincidence

His sad, big gargoyle eyes and his cute little gargoyle head tilts and his playful gorgoyle nature booping that ball with his nose, it just made Gregory feel so vulnerable and innocent.
