it was good that the director added this scene with grigor's wife.. i mean the whole series she was deemed bad and too ambitious, but she just represents the majority of women living in that era who are striving to survive.
She even said it in the ending episode that she loves Grigor but she loves fucking Peter. She straight up is completely okay with it and craves it like we see in the show.
What Catherine didn’t know was that Grigor actually did try to kill Peter, with the arsenic in the soup. The attempt remained secret only between Georgianna and Grigor, but yet Grigor still harbored that resentment towards Peter for cuckholding him. That resentment turned to guilt the moment Catherine spoke hypothetically about wanting to kill him on the spot, and she could see it clear as day. She just wasn’t aware her hypotheses were actually true, and Georgianna would be in the dark about whether she DOES know or not…. Brilliant freaking writing!
i think in history that is the actual case, I dont know if grigor is the same as grigory though. Grigory Orlov and Grigory Potemkin were catherine's fav nobles
its a show im sure they really didnt and if they did she became the emperess of russia after peter was gone and ruled for some time im sure they paid for it
@@kethcup Social rank was extremely important. Georgina is as beneath Catherine as Mariel is to Georgina. People don't openly disrespect that superiors in the social caste system. She can beat or kill Georgina if she wants to and there would be no consequence. I'm fairly certain that slapping and punching the monarch is a crime.
I think Georgina had always respected or even liked Catnerine. She defended her against the ladies of the court, praised her shrewdness listened to her more willingly than tje other girls, and did not participate in their bullying. In Season 2 though it seems she just hated her. I didnt like it, it made her character less interesting because she's just another Svenska, only more scheming. Maybe this scene is the turning point.
In season 2, Peter had abdicated the throne. He was living off in another manor, alive but powerless. I would hate Catherine too, if I had been as Georgina, constantly having to angry fuck a vicious man-child Peter and keep him entertained for years and years, all for survival and betterment of her husband and future...just to have her golden ticket to turn to lead.
I hate to keep correcting you. Actually, very few rich men wore their natural hair long. They usually shaved their heads to wear under wigs. Lice was rampant during the times and wigs were easier to delouse than heads.

@@FuhrerHeisen you wouldn’t say that about a man i.e Peter who sleeps with everyone in the show just sayinggggggggggggg
Yeah... people are always very hard on women who use their sexuality and beauty to survive. The way I see it ...you use what you have to endure.

She’s just so clever and witty!
Who? Catherine or Georgia?

The way the ladies all slap and punch Catherine bothers me to no end she’s the empress does that not mean anything
I was thinking the same thing. And the fact that there are no people that tails her too
Usually the consort to a king really didn't have power and respect until they had a son. Then they were untouchable.

What a line. WHAT. A LINE.
Grigor’s subplot was one of my favorites

@@Circa1628 Makes sense. Still sad though
i literally don’t know what they’re doing in the background it’s so funny to me
Back in that time these were called stays, not corsets
Brian May...I mean Grigor LOL
brian may?
They didn't wear corsets in the 18th century. They wore stays. The purpose of a stay was mainly bust support, as opposed to waist contriction.
Don't put your finger on the bow rosin XDD you'll ruin it with your finger oils- and bows are delicate you'll break it if you whack- I- it's perfect
I can't remember. Is it was made from whale bones? Great boby armer in those days. 👍
I'd say her carriage was already loaded.
i think i need to watch that show...
men wore long hair at that time

@@unfurlinglotusflower6939 Thank you for explaining that - I was wondering why a majority of the men were wearing their hair short.
Women of this time didn't wear corsets they wore stays or stomachers
Isn't a stomacher a piece of stiff fabric at the front of the bodice?
Stomachers were pinned to the front opening of a gown/bodice, so they weren't undergarments.
