I'm glad you guys are giving Kimbal some shine, he is such a sweet guy who is doing some truly amazing work. Bringing awareness to fresh food for people who are living in urban environments who have very little knowledge about where, how or how far their food travels and how it is grown.
Real Food...such a dear topic that our American government has abused and de-incentivized! It will take people like Kimbal to combat what has been taken away from us. I love that he was given the opportunity to speak to us and explain where he is now placing the work of his heart and soul.
Two brothers asking
"What can I do"
Rather than
"How much (money) can I make"
But they are smart enough to know that they do need to make money at it and smart enough not to kill or starve the golden goose by short term goals.
They certainly do good work, but that is generally the case for people who make money strictly through voluntary exchange. I think it is very convenient the extent to which they are an open book about their plans, too bad that we have to throw other people under the bus with mind reading to praise the brothers. Success being one of the possible outcomes would be defined in terms of profitability, it is a legitimate goal and it defines what you can do there is no legitimate distinction.
@@amiri7392 I would be happy to answer direct questions to specific phrases that you do not understand, but no, I have no intention of explaining everything I said in another way and guessing what you can't understand. Do you realize how frustrating it is do deal with someone who does not participate?
Kimbal has certainly had his share of real world education. Amazing family in any case, shining example of the value of immigrants willing to work to build a new life in a new country.
This was a fun chat to listen to. Looking forward to the next one in Kimbal’s restaurant.
Amazes me that we waste so much effort and water to cultivate “landscaping and grass” rather than growing productive trees and crops in our homes...

True, oc he is doing things that are not so prominent. Who cares about farming and nutrition if you can have Cybertrucks, Roadsters and Spaceships ? What do they all have in common ?... if you want to use them for a long time you might want to eat :-)

Ok its official (in my eyes anyway) Third Row is the Musk Families favorite Podcast to interview on given how much you guys get them to say yes when it comes to interviews. I know Elon respects the hell out of you guys given how he reacts to your tweets and interactions in the interview with him. I hope you guys can get an annual Elon interview and call it something like Catching up with the Musks.
That was a fantastic interview! Very interesting. Really enjoyed it. Two brothers who are very nice people and just want to make the world a better place. I love Tesla’s mission to get rid of fossil fuels. I did buy more Tesla stock in May of 2019. That was a great opportunity. Go Tesla. My next car will be a model Y.

I've found another Musk to admire! Getting us to eat healthy sustainable food is arguably as important as getting us to use sustainable transportation and stop polluting the environment. I also appreciate his youthful efforts to end apartheid.

Really enjoyed this. So glad the question about the protests was asked. We often see figures like Elon an Kimbal as icons rather than individuals with real life journeys and often from humble relatable beginnings. Good info re:his experiences around 911, the road trip in the old bmw, the coder in the sleeping bag, etc. This may have been my favorite episode yet.

What an interesting guy KImball is.My son was out in Calif with his BS from Radford Univ. and he told me he wanted to go to a FRench cooking school. You could have knocked me over with a feather. But he finisshed it and went on to become a rigger for large venues, but he is still on fire with his Cooking. Great stuff. LOve you guys. Glad I met you KImball, sorry it took so long!

This was just so Amazing! Kimbal is such an amazing person & this podcast is so good.
Thank you so much for this inspiring interview! I had no idea what Kimbal is up to. Sustainable food is at least as important as sustainable transport and equally important to sustainable energy. It sadly does not have the glamour of either fast cars or space flight, but for more than 90% of humanity (much higher % actually), it is so much more important! And always will be, no matter how successful Elon and his engineers are. I’m a Tesla fan but my work is baking organic bread in tiny volumes for very local consumption. My wife makes soups at the same scale, sourcing ingredients from local farmers as much as possible. Food is life and big agribusiness is its polar opposite, as Kimbal so clearly stated in this interview. Thanks again for bringing Kimbal on and really expanding on the topics usually discussed on your podcast!

On the growing food on Mars we not only need hydroponics and/or aquaponics but also fermentation farming. Not only can you grow food with fermentation farming you can grow the building blocks of many other products, such as cloths.
Wow this is great information to possess and also attempt to mimic and succeed in. Exceedingly forward thought lives, of what generations have perceived again and again and now more. Feeling the not left behind equations of different cultural aspects of doing humanity.
Food is greatest way to connect in fundamental basic human being🙌
