I’m not affiliated with the Girl Scouts. They are only available for a short time every year. Everyone has their favorites and is a highly argued subject. I sent the entire line that was available this year. The cherry mash is a local company. They are not my thing, too sweet but many people love them. My dog absolutely loves the duck treats. Wish I could get you some Kansas City Barbecue. If you ever make it be sure to have the burnt ends! I would recommend from Arthur Bryant’s but that also is a highly contested subject. Joes would come second for me. Glad you enjoyed the box.

That was such a wonderful idea to send them girl scout cookies! We got 2 people at work every year from Europe or one from France and 1 from Latin America. I always make an effort to order some for them so that they can experience it as well. Particularly in the last year when they can't go out and do a lot of things because of the pandemic I try to make their stay here as interesting as possible

Girl Scout Cookies are an American institution. It's only sold for a few months each year. When I was in Iraq girl scout groups donated cookies and sent them to the soldiers. It was such a wonderful feeling of home except the desert heat melted the cookies in transit so the Thin Mints for example melted into Log Mints. They were still tasty!

Hello from a former girl scout. The scouts sold these cookies to raise money for our troop projects and trips. I was the only girl in my county who completed every level of scouts starting at daisy's all the way through seniors in high school. I learned so much from being a girl scout from lessons in teamwork to survival skills. FYI thin mints best served after freezing and peanut butter sandwiches are delicious dipped in a glass of cold milk.

    • @ChanelStuff
      @ChanelStuff Рік тому +2

I'm not a fan of dipping them (peanut butter patties) in milk. Mainly because the milk just rolls off of the chocolate. You need a dry cookie to soak up the milk. Just don't get the same result with the patties. But I agree 100% with the Thinmints in the freezer

I would get the loads I wanted 99% of the time when walking in with a box of thin Mints in hand. Thin mints on s'mores instead of chocolate is the BEST THING EVER! That idea came from girl scout camp. Also... Does anyone else remember when each cookie had one name and not multiple depending on bakery, shortbread was called Trefoils, caramel delights were called Samoas, peanut butter patties were called Do-si-Dos, peanut butter sandwiches were called tagalongs and they looked different, the amount of lemon cookie types and names we've gone through. I was a girl scout, I've been in 2 states and they always had ONE name, now I keep getting different troops with different cookie names depending on which bakery supplies them and it's just so confusing. Like they're all girl scout cookies, why does each bakery have different names for the cookies?🤔🤨

For years now the Girl Scouts have been selling outside of grocery stores, and other businesses. When I was a Girl Scout, we still went door to door. Also, our parents would take an order sheet to work for their co-workers to order some too. The varieties are actually very regional. Not all flavors are available in all locations across the states. I like Lemonades and Peanut Butter Patties, but my all-time fav is Samoas. Hands down. SO good. And as others have said, Thin Mints in the freezer. You won't regret it!

There are 2 bakers in the US for Girl Scout cookies. The Thin Mints at each are the same recipe, the main cookies (Samoas/Caramel Delights, Trefoils/Shortbreads, Do-Si-Dos/Peanut butter sandwiches, Tagalongs/Peanut butter patties) are always there. The lemon and others change but each baker has 1 lemon flavored cookie each year and 1 gluten free each year. In the last several years they added the S'Mores cookies. The types you get depend on which of the 2 bakers your council chooses to partner with. Ours uses Little Brownie which is actually the original bakery.

Interesting fact about Girl Scout cookie names: The Girl Scouts contract with two different cookie manufacturers who make the same cookies, but use different names. So while your box said Peanut Butter Patties, if I ordered them where I live, they'd be called Tagalongs. The Caramel Delights are called Samoas. Girl Scouts of Maine where I live has the contract with ABC cookies, so in Maine I'd find the line of cookies featured in this video. However, if I jumped the border to New Hampshire, the council there is contracted with Little Brownie Bakers, and they have the trademark for the cookie names you mentioned. In addition to differences in names, the cookies themselves are slightly different. For example, thin mints from ABC are solid chocolate in color, and the last time I got a batch from LBB, the cookie inside was beige. Additionally, each baker is required to have the standard 5 flavors of thin mint, caramel coconut, shortbread, and the two peanut butter varieties, beyond that they can put out 3 unique flavors that season.

Fun fact: St Louis is in the growing cusp and can successfully grow northern and southern plants, so have more variety of plants than anywhere else (hence why we are first on the allergy list in Spring!). My favorites are Peanut Butter Patties and Thin Mints. Girl Scout Cookies are only sold for a few weeks in February each year and a good amount of the profits are given to each troop.
My mom, may she RIP, was a troop leader for me and my sisters decades ago and each winter our family room would be chalk full of Girl Scout cookies and tons of cardboard boxes that we would fill with orders from church friends, family, my parent co-workers, neighbors, and teachers.

Who would have thought that watching a video of people tasting food would be SOOOOOOO entertaining?
I'm not sure how I stumbled on your channel, but I'm glad I did. I am really enjoying watching you all experience some of the different flavors of our country. I was stationed in Europe when I was in the Air Force and I had the opportunity to visit many countries. I always enjoyed trying the different foods. My favorite food to try were the different breads. But here in the United States, every state that you go to is like visiting a different country because every state has their unique tradition. And with tradition, comes EXCELLENT food. I'm from New Mexico, and we have a completely different type of food, some of which is not recognized in any other states (& New Mexican food is different than Mexican food, although we do share a lot flavors)
It is very touching to see all the generosity some folks here in the U.S. have. There are a lot of great people here in the U.S. who are kind, caring and generous. But we do have more than our fair share of the opposite kind as well.
Enjoy and keep having fun & making videos. They are great. If ever you are in New Mexico, send me a message

First off I’m from Missouri as well and I just absolutely love your guys videos! Ok so you may know this by now but a potato skin is a whole potato cut in half with a filling in it and sometimes it’s baked again. It may have cheese, bacon, chives, butter, sour cream. And those tgi friday chips are just in the flavor of a potato sling from tgi Friday’s!!!
So the potatoes are usually baked until the middle is cooked through, then you scoop out the filling of each half of the potatoes and combine all of your ingredients in a bowl, mix it together, then put it back into the potato. Now you can stop there or you can put the potatoes back into the oven to cook more!

Try the thin mint girl scout cookie in the refrigerator. They are much better when chilled. Very refreshing!

I stumbled across this channel a couple days ago, and I just love hearing your reactions. I am totally blind so cannot see the video. But, I was a Girl Scout growing up. And the person who said we all look forward to Girl Scout season is correct. It runs from about mid January to the end of March. We are coming up to the end of it this year.
Each year, the Girl Scouts come up with a couple of new flavors. So some stick around for a while, while others are gone quickly. We have two bakeries that make them in the United States ABC bakers and little brownie bakers.
Growing up, we got all of ours from little brownie bakers because, they have more fun names to the cookies. ABC do the same type of cookies, just without the fun names.
Example, ABC call them caramel delights, wild little brownie bakers call them samoas
And, oh yeah thin mints out of the freezer or refrigerator they are the bomb.

As an old girl scout, the best combos I know about the cookies are frozen/chilled thin mints (which are great on their own) and a different one where you take two lemonades and put a marshmallow in between the cookies, icing side down facing the marshmallow, and put it in the microwave for about 15-30 seconds; it tastes like a lemon meringue pie! There used to be a similar "hack" with Thanks A Lots (a cookie similar to the lemonades but with chocolate on the bottom and different languages saying thank you on the cookies) for girl scout marshmallows. That is, if you can manage to get your hands on any more girl scout cookies, I would definitely recommend trying the chilled thin mints!
The girl scouts only sold these once a year, so this person loves your channel seeing how well planned out this package was. Especially since the thin mints and Samoas (caramel delights) are usually the fastest to sell out next to the peanut butter patties.
Hearing anybody say our cookies are worthy of a double thumbs-up is a great compliment!

I sold Girls Scout cookies for years when I was a scout. They freeze great since they are only sold twice a year. Once in Fall and once in Spring.

It is still produced in a factory in Saint Joseph, Missouri, and can be found throughout the Midwest in most grocery and convenience stores and mass-merchandise outlets.

I was a Girl Scout and did my fair share of selling these cookies. They’re only sold a couple months a year and as you guys quickly discovered, they’re delicious! So, many Americans are very excited for Girl Scout “season”. My favorites are the peanut butter patties and caramel delights! I like the Thin mints too but I have to be in a certain mood to snack on mint flavored stuff.😊💜

I love that you still try the ones you don't think you will like. Sometimes you like it and sometimes you don't, but at least you're willing to try. I think the purpose of selling the Girl Scout cookies is printed on the boxes. If you didn't read it before you got rid of the boxes, you might want to look it up online.

I've also slowly watched the price go up. When my daughter sold them, they got to $5 per box. That was a couple of years ago. We are in the Southern California area.
