I personally have no issue installing multiple parts to fix a problem......ONLY if the testing can back it up. Clearly your testing revealed 2 issues, I would have reccomend both from the beginning. You were justified in doing so. I applaud your efforts in being thorough. Thanks for posting.

Maybe disabled the fuel to enable an extended crank to stress the starter over a longer period.......may have helped.......may have not made any difference lol
