I just put up 20 pounds of peaches. I canned 7qts and made several pints of juice for stomach problems. Peaches are wonderful for upset stomachs or problems with blockages in the bowels. Making medication that is safe for everyone is important. The plants that heal and how to use them is as important as how to make a healthy dinner
I am so glad you joined Rumble and yes, I would love the uncensored version of you 💙
Glad I'm not the only one who has a perpetual vanilla extract!! Mine dates back to 2018, and I swear it gets better EVER time I refill my regular bottle I use for baking.
I have been noticing that too on the flavor and that is not even adding any more beans to it
So glad to hear your gonna be on Rumble to.
Good morning, friend! Another wonderful video! Great useful information. I can't wait for some "real talk" videos on Rumble! Love💚 & Light🌞 - have a great day!
Thank you, Heidi! I really enjoy the This-n-that videos. They do help to remind of other videos that I need to go back and look at. It seems like you are always covering and updating topics that have been on my mind too. I really appreciate you!
Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme tea is one of my favorites when the herbs are fresh. Especially while listening to Simon and Garfunkel. 🤓 Thanks for the upload! Loving the heck out of learning from your channel!
Thank you, Heidi. Only thing missing with this video was my cup of coffee. I wait until Harvey is up to turn the pot on. 😆 As usual, more good information. I would love to see Rumble videos with discussions you can’t go into here. I also realize time factors are key, so I’ll wait. 😃
👍 Danke fürs Hochladen!
👍 Thanks for uploading!
👍 Very good and beautiful, thank you!
👍 Sehr gut und schön, danke!
That mug is so pretty!!
“I like to mix thing up”
We noticed! 😅
Most definitely interested in your thoughts regarding what they want to inject us with. And I know all too well from Facebook what sharing opinions on that particular subject matter can lead to. Thank you for all of this valuable information you are contributing to the world.
Heidi, I am going to have to try the Calendula tea! Heidi, again another wonderful informational video. I can't wait to see you on Rumble!
Thank you for sharing
I use Calendula in an olive oil to flavor it for cooking
Good morning Heidi!🌻Thank you always for blessings us with your knowledge, faith and personality.🤗
One of my favorite news reporters from across the pond leaves an edited description and a link here to his interview there.☺️ Even though it's very frustrating, many of those news reporters have dealt with the situation Really well and some word exchanges are 😂.
Now that I have a 'new' computer, I should download some of the videos of yours and Mary's ...🤔
Love and blessings! 💜
Great video. I will have to try adding honey to my vanilla extract.
Yes Uncensored on Rumble would be nice.
As always, you have so much wisdom to share. Thank you!
From Linda...Thank you 😄. Glad I heard about Rumble. Always look forward to hearing what you have to say.
I am most interested to hear your thoughts and opinions that can't be shared here. My guess is we will agree on most everything. Thank you for your video Heidi. I'm going to watch your videos' on tooth powder and go back to oil pulling! Sending hugs to you and all of God's Blessings!
Love all your videos, Heidi and I went ahead and subscribed on Rumble. I can’t wait to hear that. Much love and appreciation for all you do.
Great video with SO much info! I will try your routine for dental care. Getting older has really increased the crud on my teeth, especially my lower bottom teeth. Hygienist said saliva was the cause. During COVID19 I missed several appointments. After COVID19 I thought she was going to have to use a jackhammer to clean my teeth LOL! Thank you for this informative video❤️
I have never heard of not vacuum sealing nuts
Lovin the homemade cups! Love the teas
Wait. Vacuum sealing nuts causes botulism? 🤭
That's a new one.
Our educational system has failed.
(Heidi, you are a rare woman: rational, thinking, logical.)

Another great, informative video, Heidi!! Thank you. 🙏🌞👍
Great beneficial tea😊 The flowers are beautiful and I really enjoy drinking many tea varieties especially for the benefits.
Great this and that, thank you for sharing the great info, blessings
Thank you

Autumn 🍁🍁🍂🍂 New Hampshire greetings from our farm! So encouraged to see you going strong Heidi. I am a farm wife and have been prepping for our two farm properties. I try to follow you and Mary when I have time or have a project. You both are excellent in preparing and stocking up and offering natural alternatives. I will try your #3 tooth powder with coconut oil. After sheltering in place for 18 months, I am catching up on my dental, while it is relatively safe to venture out.
I pressure can non-acid foods and freeze nuts. Can't wait to start a batch of vanilla extract! I understand and appreciate why you are going onto Rumble. We shut down our working farm to the public and to outside hires in March 2020. Do to current concerns, we continue to do so. There are only three of us running a 350 acre farm and we are getting tired! My step-sons will help out now and again during haying , if they can take time off from work.
So, I don't have any extra time to consider hosting a channel, but if I did, it probably would not be You Tube.
Love your channel, so glad I came across it. I will be looking into rumble, not sure what that is. Gods blessings to you and your family.
Nuts stay good in their shell for a very, very long time. Botulism in that regard is crazy. Probably why we don’t see them sold that way very often any more. I planted a hazelnut hedge this year and trying to decide which nut tree I want to plant before winter.
Seems like I had learned that hazelnuts may do well in our area, or maybe it was almonds. I would like to have at least ONE nut type tree
@@RainCountryHomestead hazel/filberts are native to North America, but you have a very different climate than I do. I got my starts from Edible Acres. They only sell online once a year to be shipped dormant, but I’m sure there are a lot of awesome people selling on Etsy. I am leaning toward a walnut tree in my yard. I have to have something very hardy for cold and I don’t like black walnuts.
@@RainCountryHomestead I like the hazelnut a lot because they are a shrub and do not get very tall.
@@RainCountryHomestead I wish I could grow almonds, they are delicious!
Aren't hazelnuts supposed to have male and female plants in order to get nuts? I think they have to cross pollinate??
Hi Hide thanks again for sharing this video on This and That calendula Rosemary and thyme very interesting topic.
Followed you on Rumble.👍
Ditto on the Rumble thing, love the idea! God bless you guys ❤
The Stivers make a oimint with the flowers. It's supposed to help sore joints and muscles.
Do not oil pull unless you have perfect teeth. You will end up in severe pain as it will remove decay and expose the root.
Sorry, this does NOT sound right. Fat does not cause decay, sugars do and would you not WANT the decay removed?
@@RainCountryHomestead the fat resolves the decay that is in the cavity and exposes the nerve. I love your videos and I’m not a troll just saying what many people say about it.
@@libertybellemedia7165 I get that and I understand exposing the nerve but if the decay remains it will only worsen the problem. It would be better to have the coconut oil remove it than to have it drilled out. Then the tooth will still need to be filled.
i get it. i am also hanging on for dental care. medicaid dental is not welcomed by dentists! truth.
another grest teaching video.
Big Hair! 🤣😂 I busted out laughing!!
Haha! I was hoping people would find some comic relief in that!
@@RainCountryHomestead I saw that you had your head in front of camera..I thought yep, she’s gonna say something about that! 😂🤣

Back in the day, Elton John recordedca song called "Elderberry Wine". Great song. Never did have the wine though.
I'm saving up all my calendula for a salve but this looks fun too 😀
I would love to learn how to make salves!
@@debbiestevens5490 I am trying the recipe from Garden Answer's channel if you are interested. Have a great day!
I drink my THYME tea w mixed veggie juice! (v-8
I subscribed to your rumble channel. I would love to hear what info you found out on sensitive subjects. 😉 I have been trying to gather info. Love your videos
My research shows that Brazil nuts don’t last as long as others, although I don’t know why either!
I had wondered if they are a higher fat content but that should not make a difference since many fats can store for long periods of time without going rancid
"My thyme is starting to slow down"😎
I wish my TIME was slowing down! haha
How many calendula flowers do you put in your tea? Ive got a few quarts dried up. I'm hoping the benefits are in the center part as many of the petals fell off in handling.
Homemade vanilla makes for good affordable Christmas gifts. Thanks Heidi 😊😽
Go to timestamp 3:14 and you will get your answer on the amount and how I do it
@@RainCountryHomestead thanks, sorry I missed it. My rooster talked over you. No manners whatsoever 😜😄😄
I like to take thyme, Sage, lemon and honey to make a tea. It's especially helpful for a sore throat, but it's good anytime!
Not crazy about sage tea either though I love it as a seasoning in many dishes. Lemon balm is good mixed with orange mint. One of my favorite teas
@@RainCountryHomestead where did you get your Mojito Mint from? I would love to try it as you speak so highly of it. Ty!
@@RedNicole22 I bought the starts years ago but I have started to collect some seed and am hoping to get them up on the store soon
@@RainCountryHomestead oh yay! I just checked your store yesterday and didn’t see them. I will check back soon. I plan on getting more seeds and your face cream. I finally started a soap I bought from your shop a while back, and I love it. Can’t wait to start making my own. Thanks again for your response.
I have been watching for you on rumbel.
I have a couple of accounts there, just nothing uploaded yet. Time is also the issue because I still, for now, need to keep my regular videos coming here as well
I go every 6 months my husband insurance he works for MDOT
Calendula makes me constipation I m piles patient.thank you for teaching us something.we are learning something.fewerfew flowers and herbs not found easily in my country.i tried hard but not found.i m from nepal.
So useful - TY. Do you soak your nuts before eating? Others are saying that it helps with the nutrition absorption. soak and then dehydrate.
Also, could you do a video on storing seeds, pumpkin, sunflower, chia, flax, etc. ?
I only soak nuts when making milk, I always forget about the soaking thing just for eating but really am not that concerned about it. I think about how Jesus ate heads of grain straight from the plant and often wonder if some of the extra steps taken these days, even though I have done them too with grains (I do not anymore as I never noticed a difference) are just more of a fad. How do we know that soaking does not cause a lot of the nutrients to be leached out into the water? Just questions that I have that I plan to look into deeper when I remember.
As far as storing seeds, I count them the same as I do the nuts I store and I vacuum seal them into jars though I do still have some stored in buckets from when I bought them years ago, they are all still good too.
Try it with cinnamon sticks- delish
I make a lot of teas with cinnamon this time of year so I am trying to find other ways to mix it up :)
i havent used coventional toothpaste for at least a full year i use a homemade tooth powder at night after interdental brushing and flossing and i use an organic vegan dental soap in the morning i found a vegan dental polishing proxy which i use twice a week i never did 6 monthly checkups with the kids they are 30 and 21 with no fillings i havent been to a dentist for 4/5 years as i havent had a reason to go
The odd thing is I never heard of a tooth powder or paste that was not vegan. Every single one I have made is
Heidi, I love your videos. Can you do oil pulling if you have crowns , a bridge or any false teeth? I have 1 fake tooth, and crowns
As long as they are sturdy, yes you can, despite what another commenter said. I looked it up on a dental website to be sure.
@@RainCountryHomestead thank you so much for responding. You are a blessing 😊
Amazing we can’t speak freely on life and death matters. I will keep an eye on that other platform.
Eventually the names of the other platforms will be banned here.
I’m ready to rumble.
I've been making my own tooth powders for years. Your recipes for them are fantastic! I want to try oil pulling and making my own toothpaste, but I am severely allergic to coconut. Any suggestions??
You can use any oil be it sesame, olive oil, avocado, grapeseed, or whatever healthy oil you have. The reason I recommend coconut is because of its high antibacterial and antifungal properties.
@@RainCountryHomestead thank you!
Friendly tip....its not safe to do oil pulling if you have amalgam fillings.
I have had those since I was a kid and have had no problems, I am not sure where people are getting this information
Here is what I found on a dental website:
"Oil-pulling can still be done if you have lots of fillings.
It doesn’t and will not affect or loosen any filling, be it amalgam, composite, or crowns as long as they are properly placed and the tooth is not badly broken down or has no recurrent decay."
Hello. I am wondering your thoughts on hybrids. I feel like I should only use the original type of calendula and not the other varieties? Maybe I just need more education on what really changes when new colors or new petal shapes etc. are available. Would love to know your thoughts! Loving your channel so much. God Bless you!!!
While typically the wild version of any herb is going to be the most beneficial, this does not mean that hybrids cannot have nearly as much as the wild version. I grow many colors of Calendula and see them all as equal but with yarrow, I only grow the white.
@@RainCountryHomestead thank you so much! Is there a specific reason only white for yarrow?
I'd look forward to that on Rumble!
I added activated charcoal to my toothpaste.
Yes, it is good at whitening but was not my favorite thing to brush with so I only tried it once
Hi, may I ask a question? Can I use dried herbs in an elderberry tincture? I bought an immunity tea blend with many herbs and I am wondering if I can use that. Does it matter if the herbs are dry or fresh? I am using 80 proof vodka if that matters.
Yes, I typically use dried but for the rosemary I decided on fresh since it was ready to go
@@RainCountryHomestead Thank you Heidi :)
Can you harvest herbs after they flower?
Yes, I do it all the time. Sometimes it is the flowers you are wanting to harvest anyway but herbs like thyme, rosemary, sage, oregano, yes, I use all parts when they flower. Often times the flowers are more mild in flavor
I like your big hair:)
Haha! Thanks!
Good morning...I already subscribed to your Rumble. 🙋🏾♀️Do you have a vid on Usnea/Old Man's Beard?
I do not have a video specifically on that but have mentioned it in one of my natural remedies lists: ua-cam.com/video/BMIuJb06PcU/v-deo.html
@@RainCountryHomestead Thank you.
I noticed that marigolds are part of the calendula family. Is there a specific calendula you were talking about versus another type?
Yes, calendula is considered a marigold but it is also unique from the marigold and has different benefits. As far as calendula, yes there are many varieties just of that and I use them all equally as I grow several colors in various shades of orange and yellow and even pink
be sure that your seed package says .med something on it so that you know it is good for medical use.
Two years in a row I have tried to grow calendula. I get fabulous leaves but no flowers … even tried growing them in my geodesic dome greenhouse. . Are the leaves of any use?
I had initially read the leaves cannot be used but recently learned that some people do use them.
How do you keep liquid honey from crystalizing and turning solid? I bought honey from Costco and now I have a block. My husband keeps soaking the large bottle in very warm water, but I fear constantly heating up the plastic bottle may cause chemicals to leach into the honey.
Of my old honey, I just scoop out of the bucket what I need at a time and usually just add it to whatever I am using it in as the crystals will dissolve in whatever liquid they are in on their own but if I really need to have them dissolved first, I gently warm in a glass or metal container first.
Heidi, I know this is off topic but which video did you mention the vintage canning times in, the one you showed the pictures. I watch so many of your videos that I've lost track of it.
That video has not published yet, that is why you cannot find it. However, I do have a link to the photos I saved right here: www.patreon.com/posts/vintage-water-55550513
@@RainCountryHomestead that’s were I saw it! I can’t wait for those comments! But it is fascinating that the end all be all approved it back then and not now. 🤔 makes one think! Thanks for all you do!
@@lisawostalsmith3310 While I love using my pressure canner, I do wonder if it was all a part of convincing people they need a certain product. So maybe Ball and the makers of pressure canners might have partnered up? It is not like those things do not happen such as big pharma buying out doctors to sell a product
Is there an alcohol substitute that I can use?
Please see this video: ua-cam.com/video/AlC4hUebO-Y/v-deo.html
Can i use calendula leaves for tea?
Yes
Hello. I have Calendula roots in the fridge. Do you know if I can use roots to make a tincture or tea? Thank you.
No something I have looked into so I am uncertain though I do now know that the least are also edible even though I still only use the flowers
@@RainCountryHomestead Yes, I used the leaves in salads and thought roots could be used too but can't find information about it. Thank you.
Heidi, can I make the vanilla extract with just rum and no honey/sweetener?
Yes. IT is all about what you like best or is just best for you. Pease watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/AlC4hUebO-Y/v-deo.html
Hi from NC. My question is: how do you learn all of these skills? (Besides the obvious watching YT videos) Did you go to a school? Apprentice with someone etc? Btw, do you have recipes using anise or other, to make shikimic tea? I follow Natural News Mike Adams and he was talking about this. Any thoughts?
I actually rarely watch any other videos. I have picked up things here and there by doing my own research and then my own experimentation. Never went to school nor have I done an apprenticeship for any of this kind of thing, I am totally self taught. Here is the video I did recently on how anyone can do their own research into what they need to in order to find what is best for them and/or to be able to take themselves off prescription medications like we did years ago with our thyroid meds: ua-cam.com/video/59r48nUrC90/v-deo.html
@@RainCountryHomestead Thank you. I’ll check the link.
For the coconut oil and toothbrushing. Refined or unrefined?
Either can be used but unrefined is best for this case, plus tastes better if one likes coconut
@@RainCountryHomestead thnx!!
Inwas wondering does Rumble cost to belong?
Nope, it is free. Even on Patreon, though most creators will charge for their content, ours is all free
Thank you!
You linked the calendula video lol!
Yep, figured some may appreciate that one too :)
You don't film videos in your sewing/craft room anymore, only the kitchen. Is that room being repurposed?
Two reasons: the past few months I have been too busy to do much sewing and the other is because some people get disturbed or distracted by the sewing machine. However, I may start doing it again once I get back into making skirts and aprons for the store
