Love when your sisters come and collaborate with you!! What a wealth of talent in your family!!!
Becky, when straining the petals you can use cheese cloth in a salad spinner, it makes it easier. I really love how talented you and your entire family are.
that is an ingenious idea!
@@katforgiven6411 Thank you!😎
Only problem is, a lot of the oil is absorbed through cloth.
During Covid lockdowns last year, I taught myself some of these recipes. I made a salve with comfrey, plantain and calendula-infused oil and gave some away as gifts last Christmas. I currently have a jar of calendula in olive oil infusing in my cupboard.
That’s awesome! What are the reasons you use this mixture ?
This sounds good. What would it be best used for ?
Hi Becky. Here early can't wait. You are the ONLY youtuber I have pressed the bell for. Ik I say it every time but it's true, I truly enjoy watching everything you do. I love your personality, your attitude and tremendous knowledge AND how you take the time to explain things. So thank you, very much appreciated 🙏 😊
Thank you so much!! I am so glad you are here Alexis and I am honored you watch!! Thank you~~
Alexis I second that Becky is extremely likeable 🥰
@@AcreHomestead I am learning sooooo much, I love it!
@@jacintacody133 Right!! She's awesome 🥰
I love her energy! I also love how fast she talks. It makes me feel motivated!
What a beautiful gift to give. And the fact that you grew the flowers and know where they came from is extra special. Thanks to you and your sister Sarah for showing how to make it and sharing the recipe Becky.
I have used Calendula to make a salve to put on the bottom of my dogs paws in winter (Upper Michigan here). Never thought to find one to make for me. Thanks.
Hi Becky! I love your videos! I'm inspired by your dedication to your homestead, and have learned so much from you! Would you mind doing a "gardening 101" video or a "things I wish I knew before I started gardening" video for some of us novices looking into picking up gardening? It's pretty overwhelming and I would love to hear you discuss your tricks, trades, and explaining what is and isn't necessary to be a successful gardener.
Great idea! I will do that this winter for sure!! Thank you for the idea!!
Thanks for listening and considering our ideas, and taking time to respond! Appreciate that you keep in touch with your community and can't wait to see all the new and amazing content you have in store for us!
Watching your videos seriously make me even more excited for my family's big move. We're moving from Southern California to South East Texas. We plan on buying an acre and building a home of our own eventually. But I want my own garden, chickens, a pig, and a couple goats. I've always loved the "country" life. I never fit in living and growing up in Los Angeles County must of my life. I was told I'm weird while growing up because I was always interested and wanted to learn all I could about how things "use to be done". Learning to knit, crochet, embroidery, and sewing. Watching my grandmother who was your stereotypical 50's wife, cook and clean. All while trying to learn all I could. The fact that someone around my age is succeeding and doing exactly what I'd like to do for myself and my family is just amazing to me. I no longer feel like the odd one out. I may not get to watch them as they become available, but I do watch your videos. So thank you so much for all of your videos! You give me so much inspiration and trust in myself that this is possible for me to do as well. Thank you! 💜
You're not odd or weird. You are unique. And that makes you pretty great. Good luck in Texas!
I am not a homesteader, and I do not have any experience with the animals you listed. An acre seems a bit small for the numerous animals that you listed and how close they will be to your future home. Please consider researching how much land is needed for each type and number of animal. Best wishes for your future home and dreams.
Love this! Very similar to how I make mine! I use apricot seed oil and then I also add dried lavender in with the dried calendula. Works wonderful for diaper rashes!
Great idea!!
We call this salve 'Ouchies Balm' at our house. The Grandies go to the fridge and pull the pot of balm out to rub into their 'Ouchies'. We keep the salve in the fridge as we live in the sub tropics of Australia and it gets quite hot here.
Did you consider printing out labels to add another touch of customization to the jars? Also it would let people know how old the product is because those of us who don’t have great memories would be able to reference the labels.
Great to see you and Sarah together again! I love when your sisters come over and help you cooking or making fun goodies!!!!
Love all of your videos! You explain everything so well! Enjoyed seeing Sarah and her making the salves alongside you!! Especially loved this video
When making gifts, ive learned to cost the materials (including packaging) and LABOR required then compare against comparable in the retail world and my gift giving budget. Calendula are pretty easy to grow and take a lot of abuse; they are happy when watered, prolific if deadheaded, and have a very long season. This is definitely on my list for potentials as long as I'm making enough quantity to use up the supplies and materials purchased. Best yet, it is something you could make for someone scent sensitive or for a male leaving it unscented or using a man's scent/ essential oil (without the flower pedal topping of course).
Thank you for this great video.
This is amazing Becky and Sarah! This looks so easy to make too, thank you for sharing 😊
Great video!!!! Looks so easy. You have a way of making things look achievable to me. Thank you and Sarah.
Awesome! I want to make this now!!! Thanks Becky and Sarah
I have ordered all the ingredients and can’t wait to make my own! Thank you for continuing to share such awesome content!
So excited by the thumbnail bc I love the energy between you and your sister. Can't wait!
Thank you Becky and Sarah for sharing this information.
I love this! I have a similar salve that I throw together and it works wonders. Thanks for the great video!
Woop woop…love all your vids..Brilliant that it’s so natural u guys..Thanks for another great vid xxx ❣️👨🍳🇬🇧
I’ve wanted to make this for a while! Thank you for so much detail!!
I'm excited to see how you make yours! We love making salves here.
I always enjoy your content and envy your energy! I love that your sisters have been joining you in the kitchen!
Such a beautiful gift! I’d be so happy to receive something made with such love 💗
I'm getting calendula from my grandpa's garden and will be making this salve soon!!! I'm so ready!!!
Loved learning how to make this.
We're definitely trying this next fall, and growing calendulas in the spring. I've used calendula cream for years but never dreamed it was so easy to make my own. We use it on everything from insect bites/stings, rashes (including poison ivy), it works great to prevent pain at injection sites (immunizations for the kiddos, insulin injections, etc). Thank so much, Becky and Sarah!
Thank you for watching!!
I think it’s weird that you would care about using a healthy salve, but have your children injected with immunizations.
@@cynthiafisher9907 I think it's weird that you think your opinion matters in the least to me. That said, my children are grown and my beliefs and knowledge have changed and broadened over decades of choosing to live more naturally and purposeful.
@@onelittlemiracle241 Haha! You may be right!
You and your sister are so sweet together. I bet that salve smells awesome and would be so good on my dry patches. Great idea for Christmas presents! So much love, thought, and work went in to making it for your friends & family❣️👍🥰🎁
Calendula has so many great medicinal uses! One of my favorites.
Becky, Thank you for sharing this recipe!!!
Love this ❤️Its wonderful how you include family!!!!! Keep it up Becky!!!!!!!
Thank you, Lyndsey!!
I’ve made calendula salve before, I’m excited to try this recipe as well!
Wonderful!
Thank You Gal’s 💕 I cannot wait to make this 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Can't wait Becky! I check in every single day hoping you'll have a new video every single day, as if you don't have anything else going on in your life or to do other than making videos to share...but a girl can dream, can't she?! Love your videos, family and your willingness to bring us along for the ride through your garden of life ~ ❤
Same!
Me too, i love the way you make your video’s. Watch every single one. Keep doing what you are doing. So real, just as it is. With successes and less successful experiences
Same! X
Oh my gosh me too, I love everything you post Becky. I feel like a stalker of you tube lol
Me too! I hope her channel explodes and she can do UA-cam full time. I would love a video everyday!!
Thank you Becky and Sarah. I grew calendula all around my yard this summer and didn’t know what to do with it. Next year I will know to dry the flowers and not throw them out.
The reason I love your channel is you buy a lot of what you do in a store and show what you do with it for just 2 people. It helps. I'm not cooking 12 pll and I don't have a farm. But. You make me feel as though I can do all the things that I've always wanted to do! I also love that you are in the PNW. Really glad I found your channel!
I love love love your instructional videos. I used to make our soaps, lotions and salves. One of our family favorites was the soap and lotions I made with calendula. You have inspired me to get back into making them again along with some of your other ideas.
I am trying to talk my husband into getting me a freeze dryer. I used to feel intimidated by the process of using one. (Not anymore) your videos on the freeze dryer are my favorite so far.
Your enthusiasm is infectious! I really enjoy your videos.
First person I look forward to watching on UA-cam when I hop on. You live a very picture perfect version of how I want my life to be. I’m in nursing and want the little homestead with a big impact!
Thank you ladies. I learned so much!
Hi Becky, I've done it before but really got inspired when I saw your sister taking the dried calandula with her in your last video with her. I've ordered eveything the same day. I'm just waiting for my infusion to be done.. another four weeks but still in time for christmas gifts. I use lanolin also and do a vegan version of it cause I do have some vegan friends. And if I have enough infusion I'll do lip balm, too. Have a wonderful rest of you day! Love from Germany, Ramona
Very cool! One year my sister made us all a salve and put them into chapstick containers and then in an amber pot like you're using. The one in the chapstick container was great to have in our purse to take while we were out and about. They sure didn't last long because we had a really cold and dry winter that year (lots of chapped skin for sure).
You're family and friends who receive these lovely gifts are in for a treat. I've never tried the calendula but it's on the list to plant for next year. Thank you both for the idea and recipes! Be well, stay safe and God bless! 😊🌻
You are energetics and exciting to watch. Thank you for putting so much time into your videos.
I just made some of this yesterday. It’s fabulous!
This looks so soothing for the skin! I hope it helps your eczema.
Love this!
Love your videos Becky, you're so passionate and inspiring with everything you do. Keep the vids coming.
Much love from the uk 🇬🇧
Thank you, Henry!!
Ooo! I’ll have to try this. Thanks for bringing this recipe to us.
This is such a great idea! My mother gave me calendula flower seeds and I was looking up how to use them before I decide to plant them. And thanks to you, they made the cut! 😊
i make calendula salve and comfrey salve with eucalyptus essential oil. i love them so much! they are amazing. great job girl!
Wow I’m learning SO MUCH. BEST channel EVER.
I went through all the other comment's and it's all been said. I also can't wait, love your videos, your so fun to watch😁 I think this is the first time I set the reminder I don't want to miss a thing. See ya soon🙌
Hi Becky! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe with us! I am going to try making this I love the idea to give as Christmas gifts! YAY On my Birthday!! fun fun can't wait I have heard about this save looking forward to learning
Happy birthday Deb!!! I hope you have a great day!!
This is a must! Thank you for sharing. I’m a , RN retired now, yeah!! I bought a hand lotion that I loved that had that very flower in it. I thought it had to be the flower I loved. Long story short the company from France went out of business. I can’t believe no one has produced it. I could wash my hands 5-7 times and my hands felt as if I just put lotion on. Than you so much! Your hands and nails are beautiful. I’ve alway notice them, thanks again Becky.❤🇺🇸🌼
Loved this!
When I started watching I thought of the talk at the HOA conference about products and how she used tallow for eczema.
I love watching you make all the things. Wish I could make them with you. It’s so lovely that you have your sister to make with 💗💗
Planting calendula in the garden this year to try this out!
I love this! I have been making my own calendula salve for the past 3 years and it has saved my skin since I moved to Florida where all the bugs are! I use this for bites, burns, stings, chub rub, and whatever else. My only problem is the smell. I don’t like the calendula smell so I use citronella to cover it up. I also started putting them in jars for home use and chapstick tubes for on the go! Love your videos and hope you’re doing well!
I love how you both name things off while touching different fingers like 1,2,3,4 and so on, how adorable
I recently stumbled upon your channel and I have been enjoying your videos ever since. You do such a great job explaining the whys of what you're doing in your videos. You are a natural teacher. Thank you for sharing your life and knowledge with the rest of us.
Awesome, thank you! I'm so glad you are enjoying them!! Thank you for being here, Alice!!
Can't wait to see this!!
I’ve never made a salve but I have made my own lip balm and body butter with Shea butter and almond oil or coconut oil!

I have always wanted to make this! You are a great teacher. I think I am going to make lip balm too with food grade peppermint essential oil. I have an autoimmune skin disease and I’m hoping this will help.
Thank you!!
