Since I'm not doing a video, I can go ahead and say it...I don't trust doctors, especially during these times! I've been figuring out my own ails for years. Love these types of videos! In addition to the books I have on herbs, I also have some on the healing power in foods. I got started with this during the 80s with The Juice Man. Thanks for the information on research. It is SO important and especially important is to confirm with multiple sources, etc.

I was able to get off metformin by having a shot of apple cider vinegar at night. Not saying it will work for everyone. Better to figure these things out before the zombies get here. If it didn't work out, I could have gone back on the drug, but if the drug was no longer available, I would have been in trouble. The Nurses Drug Guide is a great book to have, for reference. Another excellent video, thank you Heidi! 😊😊😊

Not only do people have to cross reference herbs and medicines but the herbs themselves.
Some may actually work to counteract the others you pair them with or in rare cases when combined, create a toxic chemical reaction.

there's also a lot of new information about the gut and brain relationship. in that the health of your gut biome can be related to your mental health status, and that a healthy gut can help you have a healthy mind. and of course your fermented foods help you build a healthy gut biome.
they now know that your mouth also has its own particular biome too, i wonder if the fermented food also are good for the mouth biome like they are the gut?

I have built a good library. I still prefer good old fashioned books in my hand. I love the smell of the pages of a new book. Weird I know...lol But, I always have my reference with a book. The older I get the more I'm turning away from the internet. Life was good before high tech came along- of course we didn't know any better...lol Growing up, remember going to the library to use the Encyclopedias? The grocery store offered a weekly volume of Funk and Wagnalls...Mom would start it but never finished it. She'd tell me to look it up in the Funk and Wagnalls and I'd have to tell her we didn't have that volume....lol It became a joke in our house- let me look in the Funk and Wagnalls-oh we don't have that one. lol

Thanks Heidi, great information & tips- especially to those of us who are trying to live & use more natural medicines. I have several books that I bought back in the early 90's but never took the time to really learn what I was reading &/or forgotten what I did learn at that time. (this was before the internet) I am watching a lot of your old videos, and try to pick one herb at a time, and really learn how to use that particular herb, then moving to another. I am compiling a reference notebook for myself with the information I find. I will be checking out the books you recommended. Many, many Blessings!

I think this is among your most valuable videos. Of course, I totally love your in-depth videos on specific topics but being able to find out more (have a curious mind-set) is the best. I also appreciate the list of books. I have a few on herbs, both growing and using, but none you've listed and no real medical books. I am old school in liking hard copy because sometimes there's no internet access such as during a power outage after a storm (or out of range of the home wi-fi) and it's easier on the eyes when reading great amounts of text; I also find hard copy much more portable.
PS I've copied and saved the list of books so I can expand my library.

I am so lucky! My oncologist is determined to find the root problem rather than treat symptoms. At the Cancer Center I'm known as the one who would rather go natural. I do take the chemo meds because it keeps my white blood cells under control so they quit making cancer cells.
My regular dr also understands I prefer natural and although he never recommends natural methods, he will answer my questions annoy that. When I told him that a wild yam cream was helping with my hot flashes, he said Oh yeah, phytoestrogen. But he doesn't like to put people on meds either. So I am very lucky.

Whoa....I broke out in a rash from my neck to ankles during the last 2-3 weeks of my pregnancy. My doctor had other doctors come and look at me and none of them had any idea what it was. Their best guess was that it had to do with my hormones and would go away when I had my baby. My grandmother said she'd heard of it and called it pregnancy poisoning. The dr gave me a couple of cortisone shots, which helped briefly but not for long. I finally took things into my own hands and drank a bottle of castor oil to trigger labor (it worked). And sure enough, the rash began to clear after my daughter was born.

Thanks so much for these great book suggestions! I have a few, but watch the shelves of used book stores always... and when looking up things, I try now to put, functional medicine treatment for, or functional medicine therapy for...as that gives me the more natural websites, like, Dr Axe, but also you have to be careful, as you said, of the 'experts', who maybe helped themselves, but their cure applies only to a small group, and they tout it for everyone.
. Mayo and Cleveland clinic used to b e better sites, and still can be useful, but they sure are part of the system...remember, schools of medicine are paid for by big pharma, and docs get less than 6 hours of nutrition....

I wish I knew what causes really LOW blood pressure. So many of the things I eat boast that they reduce blood pressure. Salt is always recommended for low blood pressure but salt is also something to recommended for reducing kidney stones. It is a no win situation. One food is tooted as a superfood and that same food lowers blood pressure, or causes oxalate formation in the kidneys.
Oh, fasting is so easy for me and eating is a horrible chore and so confusing.

You should consider wood burning that sign behind you, it would really make that writing pop 😂 especially if you re router it a little bit afterwards
Only if you made it, if it was a gift that would be rude 🤣🤣🤣 and that was my random thought for this video 🙃
God Bless I love your channel thank you for not stopping even though the internet is going crazy

That particular sign was a gift that was hand made for us. It is resin set into wood. Yes, it would be nice if it popped more and I am sure the guy that made it for us had thought the white resin would stand out more but I am not going to change it because I appreciate the time and t houghtfulness taht went into it. Our other sign, the one you see in the opening of every video, was handpainted by my daughter in law and it is hung on a different wall

What excellent information! When you create the anti itch treatment with neem and clove oils, what do you recommend as the parts each?

    • @RainCountryHomestead
      @RainCountryHomestead  3 роки тому +6

It will depend on your sensitivity. Start with a drop or two clove oil in an ounce of neem and see how thhat works. Then increase until it works to numb the itch without being too hot

When I told my hubby about your remedy for itches he said that a sasafras branch cut yea long with a corn cob at the end of it works great also. 😆 He proudly takes the supplements I have been making per your instructions. We are given eggs from a friend and I am making eggshell ones as well as whatever else I can experiment with. FUN! You are a great influence!

If ya'll want to do your own research, might as well make your own meds and forget seeking professional healthcare, you don't trust them anyway so don't clog up the system with your problems, fix them yourself.

Well, that is what we did...however, that may not be doabel for everyone. Some people may still need a doctor to help lead them in the right direction but no one should just blindly take a drug becuase someone in a white coat said it was safe. Remember Thalidamide and how many pregnent women trusted their doctors wtih that one and what the horrific results were?
