    2/3 cup liquid (milk or water) with 1/3 cup oats. Cook in the microwave for 1min. Stir, then cook for another 45 seconds... (may take a little longer depending on the strength of your microwave. Super easy!

    Can you share the smoothie recipe?

    • @HomemadeMethod
      @HomemadeMethod  3 роки тому

      Here's one we use all the time!
      Slice bananas and other fruit into 2-3 inch pieces. Berries, stone fruits & tropical fruits generally work best. Remove any non edible parts before freezing (eg. banana peel).
      Freeze sliced fruit for a thicker, creamier smoothie (optional)
      To prepare your smoothie, add 1 frozen banana and 1 cup of other fruit to blender
      Add greens, superfoods and all other ingredients (see recipe ideas over the page)
      Add ½ cup to 1 cup of milk of your choice, coconut water, plain water or 100% juice
      Blend on high until mixture is smooth and consistent (about 1 min)
      Serve immediately, or pour in a mason jar for easy transport to enjoy later 🤗

    If you want creamier oatmeal, put the oats into cold water. If you want it a little chunkier, boil the liquids and then add the oats.

    I often switch out my meals with oatmeal - have it for lunch or dinner. This is especially useful if I am going to eat out for breakfast or lunch and want to indulge in a larger meal earlier in the day:)

    • @HomemadeMethod
      @HomemadeMethod  2 роки тому

      Hi Margaret, I love that you are so aware of your body's need for food throughout the day, and take going out and having larger meals into consideration by choosing smaller, yet nourishing meals and snacks to keep you feeling full and satiated throughout the rest of the day. Oatmeal is such a quick and easy meal at any time. Rich in fibre and protein, and topped with some chia seeds or nuts for some healthy fats (and maybe some berries or a little honey) this is a great choice! Warmly, Sam, Homemade Coach and Nutritionist

      Hi Denise we have dieticians and nuritionists on our Team who work with our Members who have gluten intolerances or issues with lectins. That's part of the support we provide in our paid Program. Alternatively, you can always post them in our free community group (though we can't always vouch for the quality of those replies from ladies in our free community 😆 😆). Just search for Homemade Method on Facebook and ask to join our Free group there. I love oatmeal
    Haven't been eating it because of raised blood sugars. Won't this cause blood sugars to rise?

    • @HomemadeMethod
      @HomemadeMethod  2 роки тому

      Hi Rose, thank you for your question! Oatmeal is a great breakfast for people watching their blood sugars because it is an excellent source of a special type of soluble fibre as well as protein. Both help to keep your blood sugars stable and you feeling full throughout the morning. We suggest that our members add different toppings to their oatmeal to keep the flavours interesting and the meal well balanced. Consider adding some fresh berries and a sprinkle of your favourite nuts or seeds to create a perfectly balanced meal. Warmly, Sam, Homemade Coach and Nutritionist

    I am allergic to oatmeal. Is there something else I can I can substitute for a healthy breakfast?

    • @HomemadeMethod
      @HomemadeMethod  3 роки тому +1

      Absolutely Kathy! If you can't eat oats I would recommend enjoying another whole grain that you can enjoy with fruits and nuts for a nourishing breakfast. Quinoa or amaranth are both excellent choices to try.

    What happens if you don't like oatmeal can you use cream of wheat

    • @HomemadeMethod
      @HomemadeMethod  Рік тому

      Hi Rita, yes, you can use cream of wheat! Keep in mind though that it contains less of the outer husk which provides the meal if fibre to keep you feeling full. If you are going to use cream of wheat don't hesitate to load your bowl up with beautiful fibre rich fruits, berries, nuts and seeds. :D Thank you for your question! What about nuts with diverticulitis?

    • @HomemadeMethod
      @HomemadeMethod  Рік тому

      Hi Donna, this is a great question. Diverticular disease can be inflamed by particles such as nuts, seeds and other foods. We suggest that ladies interested in joining Homemade Method speak with their medial doctor to assess whether the program is right for them. If they get the 'okay' then our team of dieticians, nutritionists and chef are more than happy to assist in the customisation of recipes to suit your needs. You are more than welcome to email our team and member@homemade-cooking.com to find out how we can support you. :) Warmly, Sam, Homemade Coach and Nutritionist

    What if you aren’t hungry until lunchtime your program says to eat when you get hungry

    • @HomemadeMethod
      @HomemadeMethod  3 роки тому

      Hi Caren, you aren't alone in wondering how to manage this! So many women just like you aren't hungry in the morning and it could be for a multitude of reasons since we all are so different. That's why we have expert coaches to help you understand what tweaks you can make to help you start to shift your habits! It's one of the first things we focus on in the program :)

    • @carenwatson6574

      @@HomemadeMethod I think it’s totally genetic my mother was exactly the same way I’ve tried to force myself to eat in the morning for years when I worked but it didn’t really have a lasting effect.

    • @HomemadeMethod
      @HomemadeMethod  3 роки тому

      @@carenwatson6574 My mom is the same way! One of the things we focus on when shifting eating habits to slow down enough to find the areas where small tweaks can be tried to see if they help to shift things! That being said, we also teach our members to listen to their bodies so if eating first thing isn't working, then we can still help you make other changes so you start to work towards your health goals.
