    One of the things I do to make things easier is cook up rolled oat, brown rice, quinoa etc. in my slow cooker, that way I don't have to watch it so closely. I also heat the water up before putting it in the slow cooker which makes it faster.

      Brilliant tips thank you! And yes I have definitely scraped way too many oatmeals from the bottom of my pots - ESPECIALLY when my husband is cooking! 😂😂😂

      Absolutely Linda! We share free tips and recipes here on our You Tube channel to help women lose weight and reverse their blood numbers without dieting. You can check out some of our recipes here: homemademethod.com/recipes/ We don't have a cookbook because what makes our Method different from diets is that we focus on a combination of cooking techniques, mindset AND teaches you how to listen to your body for results that last!

    What’s a pulse? Are you saying to soak rice?

    • @HomemadeMethod
      @HomemadeMethod  3 роки тому +1

      Pulses include beans, lentils, and peas. Soaking rice can reduce antinutrients (which are plant compounds that may reduce your body's ability to absorb certain nutrients. Brown rice contains an antinutrient known as phytic acid, or phytate.)

    I'm type 2 diabetic and some recipes have brown sugar, isn't brown sugar a problem? My body craves sweets and bread..the 2 worst things for me. I've actually cut it from my diet but I feel like I'm forfieting joy in the process, along with the fact my meds make me gain weight (60 lbs+)

    • @HomemadeMethod
      @HomemadeMethod  3 роки тому

      Hi Becky, thanks so much for bringing up this important topic of sweets and type 2 diabetes. We do have some recipes with a little bit of brown or coconut sugar but they are always designed with lots of fiber, protein and healthy fats needs to stabilize blood sugar as well. We know it can feel so demoralizing to deprive yourself of the foods you love (like sweets and bread) and research actually shows that telling yourself that you "can't have that" leads to binge eating later, even if you were "good" and didn't eat it for a day or a week or a month. The good news here is that with The Homemade Method, there's no off limits foods list so you can still enjoy the foods you love. Instead of dieting and deprivation, we teach ladies like you how to enjoy their favorite treats in a nourishing way and how to listen to their bodies so they can create a healthy relationship with food and reduce their blood sugars into normal range :)

      @@HomemadeMethod ty for this, I love iced rea with sugar and absolutely detest sugar
      subs, so I use an eighth of a teaspoon of reg sugar to one 24 oz cup of iced tea, I have started oatmeal every morning cos otherwise I'd be all about the Fruit Loops lol I am trying and with your help I know I got this!!!

    • @HomemadeMethod
      @HomemadeMethod  3 роки тому

      @@beckystawecki7519 This is an excellent update! Sugar subs can actually create more blood sugar issues so you're on the right track :) Just a little bit in your tea along with some oatmeal is a wonderful start to your day. And it's SO much healthier than fruit loops! You totally got this! You can also add some berries for some more natural sweetness in your breakfast too :)
