I work every day with impact bits all day long because I repair tools for a living. I use Torx, Allen head and a few flat and Philips as well. The company I work for sells Makita products and we are an authorized service center for Makita as well. Needless to say, I have virtually every brand of bit in my tool chest and I can honestly say that the Makita impact bits are by far the most durable and most have superior functionality. I don’t say this because we sell them, because we also sell and service DeWalt, Milwaukee, and Bosch we service a total of 16 name brands of tools and I have used them all extensively.
I tried Milwaukee, Bosch, Dewalt, Ryobi and Craftsman bits before I see your video. Today I bought Makita 35 bit set. All others going back to store. Thank you for sharing this video!
Yeah I bought these when I picked up my XDT14. They’re awesome. My buddies were blown away when they tried them out so they went and bought some too. Lol
Just got the bit set yesterday and it bothers me that other companies sell bits that don't fit anywhere close to as well. Feel like I've been ripped off my whole life. That's how good these bits are.
Love my Milwaukee Shockwave bits, but I’m seriously considering getting some of the Makita XPS Phillips bits after seeing your video, and VCG’s. I’ve seen Phillips brand do such a demonstration, but it required their new screws AND their bit for it to work. Makita did it with just the bit design.
Tool Review Zone the one where you completely buried the bit was pretty amazing too. I’ve seen overdriven screws before, but I’ve never seen anyone bury a 2” or longer bit. I hope they didn’t make the same mistake as Milwaukee did with the Matrix bits. Hope they learned from Milwaukee’s mistake and aren’t repeating it.
Wow very impressive. I always just use cheap bits, because I don't want to lose the expensive ones, but I guess I'm gonna get some Makita bits, amazing!
I'd probably keep some worse fitting bits on me. When I'm tearing out old work and there are a lot of screws, I actually like a worse fitting bit so I can just flick my driver to the side and throw the screw on the floor to sweep up later. Makes demo a little faster.
Shockwave cases are annoying. Especially for narrow bits and twist drills, you might rip your skin off before the bit releases. I like the Milwaukee bits themselves quite a bit and have a couple sets, but I won't buy them again for that reason. I do like the Makita XPS better overall. Fairly similar design to the Milwaukee, but slightly better finish and much less annoying case
Not all Phillips screws are exactly the same. Button head sheet metal screws for instance, wouldn’t hold an impact like that. If you only use deck screws or drywall screws these tips look great, but they may not be the best for every application.
the velocity screws the bits that come with them do the same the drill and impacts hang on the screws as well and r driven faster than any other screws
they redesigned the magnetic ring as well, now it sits toward the end, but you dont always need it, i cleaned out my home depot, this is what the milwaukee matrix carbides should have been
I'm going to see if I can come up with something like that bro. That's why I put that clip from Makita in the vid, but not sure what other bits they used in the testing
Ha burning them fingers on the screws . Just to add I never use Phillips screws only on dry walls which do grip ordinary Philips bits . I’ll carry on using my pozi drive thanks 👌🏻👍
I'm sold on the bits for sure, and like you I can't stand the Phillips, I go for the T25 but hell I'll give the phillip's another shot now, pretty good timing too since I been switching my lineup over to Makita and Milwaukee
Why is it sticking to the screw such a good deal wat about wen you want to get it out of multiple screws fast ? Not so handy then. What is important is how long the bit lasts so how strong it is for heavy work.
What's up Makita Man I want to go buy some of those bits right now but I can't till the coronavirus is gone. I was wondering did you get the new magnet with your kit. I always love it when you do videos on Makita tools. Peace brother
Can't find these in the UK wanna try them just can't find them at all but we use pz2 here so probly ain't made then yet for the UK buyers so I'll stick with the milwaukee shockwaves for a bit till I can find these
I bought a 45 pc XPS set today at Home Depot. Can't wait to try them. Made in Taiwan. I have an Excalibur scroll saw made in Taiwan. They make good stuff.
I tried to do this with my 12volt Milwaukee impact and it didn’t work at all, Didn’t even feel close to holding the drill up. I Must’ve been using the wrong screws.
Joe Hall I did it with several different bits, all #2s and 10 different kinds of screws couldn’t get it to stay once. Good bits nonetheless. The gimmicky thing I couldn’t care less
Hmmm, all I did was grab some of my general purpose screws from the box and it worked good. Works best just after you tighten it and let go of the trigger
I do like my Makita impact driver but their bits have always sucked! So these new ones would have to be a huge improvement to be equal to the DeWalt or Irwin ones. They have always had softer steel which wear out very quickly and aren't that great out of the box while still being one of the more expensive brands. Check out Project Farm he found out pretty much what I have experienced when testing bits. I still wouldn't buy a phillips fastener if given any choice even if the bit could continue as you show. Torks or Robertson are far far superior and hold a driver even when it is a bit worn. I am not even a fan of the 'Japanese phillips' which are very different from the normal ones. They still cam out under load.
These aren’t that great. I went and bought some put them to work the next day and within 10 Seconds the tip broke on me! I’m sticking with my Milwaukee bits...

Do you have wera diamond bits, pb swiss bits, wiha bits?
I tried Milwaukee, Bosch, Dewalt, Ryobi and Craftsman bits before I see your video. Today I bought Makita 35 bit set. All others going back to store. Thank you for sharing this video!
Awesome, thanks for the feedback Michael!
That test of the XPS bit and Phillips screw interface holding the drill driver at 3:50 had me sold. Nicely done.
Yeah I bought these when I picked up my XDT14. They’re awesome. My buddies were blown away when they tried them out so they went and bought some too. Lol

I really don't think you will go back bro. These are truly awesome bits👊
Tool Review Zone the one where you completely buried the bit was pretty amazing too. I’ve seen overdriven screws before, but I’ve never seen anyone bury a 2” or longer bit.

Bought the Phillip's #2, 2" 3 pack today. Best fit I have ever seen in any bit, regardless of price or brand.
Yeah, they are pretty awesome. Thanks for the feedback bro👊

I agree. I got these and love them. best fitting bit ive ever used.
Best bits I’ve ever used for them first week they come out
I know Henry Phillips is looking down on this video and smiling as much as we are, thanks for the shoutout CUZ!! ooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
Haha, you got it brother Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
And Peter Robertson is saying " welcome to the club". Kidding aside, these bits look amazing. Hope they're available in Canada.
Look what Vince from VCG doing with Ryobi bits. He turned impact driver with Ryobi bit almost upside down. That was amazing.
His name is Vance
Yeah that little novelty trick sure will get a lot of work done... Not
They look super nice, I’m going to pick some up today. That’s crazy how the drill didn’t fall out off the screw thx bro great review 👍🏼
Let me know how you like them JJ!
Tool Review Zone I definitely will I just grabbed the kit at the Depo with a few other accessories with it.
I use the shockwaves and they have been better than any other bits. I will try these out though!

Makita is top of the line! in my opinion.
More impressive than my wife's bits
Just ordered a nice set. Thank you
I bought 3 sets of em just bc i liked them so much.. idk how you can really beat these (for the work that I do)
they redesigned the magnetic ring as well, now it sits toward the end, but you dont always need it, i cleaned out my home depot, this is what the milwaukee matrix carbides should have been
Hey Thanks I'll have to try these.
Wow, impressive. I will check them out.
Thanks for the video and update on these bits
You got it brother 👊
Nice and strong bit, can hold the mother compact driver, nice one!
Are the screws Phillips or Posi drive. My experience with Phillips is that the cam out too easily.
I need to go to Home Depot.
Anyone know why the xps bits are hard to find? I’m in Canada and literally no stores carry them.
I do a crapton of tapcon installs bought a set last week i have broken 5 tapcons with these bits. With my milwaukee shockwaves the bits break first.
Wow, cool feedback. Thanks
Wow blown away I need to try a set
They are really good bro, just watch out for the Gnome!
How about a torque test to see how much torque it could withstand before shattering?
I'm going to see if I can come up with something like that bro. That's why I put that clip from Makita in the vid, but not sure what other bits they used in the testing
💪🏽
Well... I AM BOUGHT BY THIS AD!🤯
For me the best is Wera bits 👍👍👍😁😁😁
Wera is the only other one this would work on
I'll have to try these to
Ha burning them fingers on the screws . Just to add I never use Phillips screws only on dry walls which do grip ordinary Philips bits . I’ll carry on using my pozi drive thanks 👌🏻👍
I might try these! I love my Milwaukee tools, but the shockwave bits are horrendous....
Lol just bought some yesterday might go return them
why is there no pozidrive (PZ) for those? As it is superiour to phillips, i dont understand why makita does not have them in PZ.
Great video Clint Bro
Thanks brother 👊
Are these bits diamond coated for them to be able to stick to the screw heads?
is it possible to use these bits with Hammer drill also ?
Yo TRZ! I'm going to have to give these a run! Great vid! Stay safe brother!!
Thanks brother and you too my dude👊
All joking aside that is a very nice looking #2 bit
I dont think canada has them yet. I just checked the home depot website an nothing in my area.
Should be soon
I'm sold on the bits for sure, and like you I can't stand the Phillips, I go for the T25 but hell I'll give the phillip's another shot now, pretty good timing too since I been switching my lineup over to Makita and Milwaukee

thanks for useful tips, awesome and nice~
You are very welcome, and thank for the awesome comments unit👊
@@ToolReviewZone 👍👍
Awesome.....👌👍

i am happy these came out cause i got the makita golds for $9 baby yayyuhh
Lol
What's up Makita Man I want to go buy some of those bits right now but I can't till the coronavirus is gone. I was wondering did you get the new magnet with your kit. I always love it when you do videos on Makita tools. Peace brother
Hahaha, I know you do brother
Can't find these in the UK wanna try them just can't find them at all but we use pz2 here so probly ain't made then yet for the UK buyers so I'll stick with the milwaukee shockwaves for a bit till I can find these
I was literally only able to get my hands on them today. Should be heading your way soon bro
One of my favorite Bits
Best bits out there. Truly are. I have so many of these it isn't funny
They seem great. Looking for an excuse to go to Home Depot. Quick question: Where are they made?
Probably Japan bro. I'm not 100% sure but most of their stuff is made there
@@ToolReviewZone Hope so, cause "Made in China" died for me, actually!
I bought a 45 pc XPS set today at Home Depot. Can't wait to try them. Made in Taiwan. I have an Excalibur scroll saw made in Taiwan. They make good stuff.
Can't find them in the UK yet😥
They are good bits however I prefer the new Milwaukee shockwave impact duty , they are damn near indestructible.
Have you tried both
Makita rules
Seems not yet available in Europe. 😫
These bits are not at the home depot in western Canada
They should be soon Gary. They just hit the stores here
I want it.... Do you know when they Will be in México ?
Probably soon but I don't have a solid date bro
I use to say that as a teenager please just the tip lol
Hahaha
😂 Made me laugh dude, good times
Just the tip, and only for a minute!
Joseph Malinowski That's what your mom said!
👌🏻
@@V0YAG3R if you don't answer you are a bitch
When your on lock down but Home Depot is still open because they sell essentials so you go out to get some xps bits to play with #6feetapart 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haha
Bill how did you know you we’re 6ft apart ?, did you also buy a tape measure 😂👍🏼
I may have seen you there.
Our home depot has barricaded the parking lot and is only letting 100 people in at a time. Lol!
How soft it the wood
Cool video. Shame they aren’t available in Australia or even on Amazon.
Why cant you get these in the UK
Need to pick me up some soon
Yeah they are pretty awesome bro
Which impact bits do you think are better and I don’t care about price Makita XPS or Milwaukee Shockwave
Now those are cool.
No PZ2 bit??
How much for this set?
But how bad is the wear on the bit compared to others?
The best
Unbelievable !!
The buy here link is not working for me
Thanks for the heads up
Where can I buy these bits
K, I'm not gonna lie... that's pretty fucking awesome. Any bit that'll hold in place a battery operated...
I snapped 3 doing regular applications, maybe I got a bad batch!! Very disappointed!!
Oh & the ones that snapped were the PH2
They're alright. They wear relatively fast and then they cam out quickly. Any chance you can demo the wera diamond coated Phillips bits?
I tried to do this with my 12volt Milwaukee impact and it didn’t work at all, Didn’t even feel close to holding the drill up. I Must’ve been using the wrong screws.

Hmmm, all I did was grab some of my general purpose screws from the box and it worked good. Works best just after you tighten it and let go of the trigger
Haven't had any issues with my shockwave.
The real question is..who still uses Phillips? Torx for teh win.
never buying another Makita product after buying their bit holder that absolutely sucked.
I do like my Makita impact driver but their bits have always sucked! So these new ones would have to be a huge improvement to be equal to the DeWalt or Irwin ones. OK. Test these on stainless hinges using stainless screws. They'll snap!
Yo TRZ!!
Famous Amos!!!!! What's up brother 👊
Like Butta
Any screwdriver bit could drive a screw to a bit of softwood.
The best till you use Hilt bits
I tested to see if these could hold the ex wife and they worked!
Hahaha
Very Good , But Milwaukee Shockwave Are Better . These Makitas Should be Magnetic ! Milwaukee Are . Fit is About the Same .
😎🍻🍺
These aren’t that great. I went and bought some put them to work the next day and within 10 Seconds the tip broke on me! I’m sticking with my Milwaukee bits...
Wow really. Yeah, if that's the case stay with what works bro
90% longer is not 90 times longer. It means almost twice as long.
I don't think those are phillips. I think they are pozidrives. Check them. Phillips are marked: PH and Pozis are marked PZ
Show demo, on hardwood surface. I challenge, you will fail.
Serious?? Phillips bits... 🤮
only problem with makita is the battery
