I vividly remember this being such an important part of my morning routine during high school. I had the Semi Clear Green N64 and had the stadium games, two controllers, two game packs and RBY and silver versions. I was old enough to understand that stadium 2 gave you a daily mystery gift and realized how awesome it was. I remember waking up 20 minutes earlier than usual on school mornings just so that I could run downstairs, grab a pack of S’mores Poptarts, run back to my room, boot up the N64 and do the mystery gift event. It took less than 3 minutes and after I got to fawn over whatever thing I got, I gleefully went and got ready for school.
Good shit man
I got depression during high-school. :(

The German UA-camr Karpfediem accomplishes most perfect save files. For some he needed years to finish
He'll never be legitly 100 percenting Gen 2 Pokemon though, f
The German UA-camr KrapfeDiem did. Without Cheats. It just took him 4ever
Everyone commenting this despite the fact that it is literally impossible to do so?
@@MrCheezeobviously excluding the unown doll duh
@@inferno1153 tentacool doll and pikachu bed from Pkmn Stadium 2, unown doll is obtained in Crystal for catching all 28 Unown's and talking to a researcher.
It's funny. I used to Mystery Gift every morning with my friend and school and spent a minimum of six months doing that every morning with her. So I remember owning both the Big Snorlax and Surfing Pikachu dolls in my bedroom in Gold version. I also owned Onix too, but wasn't a big fan of it, so didn't have it displayed. I think one berry was extremely rare with Mystery Gift as well and I ended up with two of them.
Psyduck in a straight jacket is a image I never knew I needed.
Im severely impressed at how Gamefreak could create the most convoluted and pointless systems but couldn't be bothered with properly scaling the difficulty on the latter part of the game. No doubt Iwata had to intervene during development.
I'm more impressed by how far they have fallen, like how do you go to stuff like everything from first gen to black and white 2 all the way down to how bad Scarlett and Violet are lol
Pokémon Stadium in particular is very impressive. There are so many hidden and specific, yet very detailed animations accompanied with fitting sound effects that many people haven't seen yet. It's actually nuts, considering this is the very first generation and their first 3D title
@@gatordragon6140part of it is that the games nowadays are much larger, and they are insisting on keeping a schedule for releasing new games, meaning they are forced to rush
That said, I’m pretty sure they have a larger team working in it compared to back them, so it’s not much of an excuse
Play crystal clear. Gyms scale up to lv 79 and the second run E4 champ has lv 80+ mons. Also has elite trainers that you can battle.
Gen 2 is goated. Yeah it has issues in the later part but it doesnt matter; its still amazing. Il ltake it over gens 7-9 any day those suck
Wrong the German youtuber KarpfeDiem did it
Sure...theres a german guy who did 100% Gen 1, 2 & 3
Karpfediem
@@zekiado90 Yoo Karpfediem mentioned! I love his videos.
and now he's doing gen 4
This was so well done! I’m impressed that you were able to maintain the same level of detail, entertainment, and quality in a long form video!
So happy with long videos. You make my favorite shorts by a long shot now. So having something longer is god-like.
It's very rare these days I learn Pokemon facts that I haven't heard before! I've enjoyed your shorts for ages now so please keep these videos up ❤
A wonderful first long video!
The pacing was good, the animations were great, and the research you both did was super informative! Nice work guys! 🎉
Man I miss how hard things were to obtain in these games, made it all the more worth it. Instead, we get everything handed to us . Thanks for this stroll down nostalgia lane, love the long videos.
What like generation 2 events where you had to literally convince your parents to travel to New York City from the Midwest... To get a Pokemon...
remember, the azure flute was deemed "too complicated" to be released
We need a middle ground. I don't want mythical just given to me. I want stories with them and to get to catch them!
i don’t like getting handed op stuff, but i ALSO don’t like having to beg my parents to fly to florida for a piece of data.
These aren't hard to get, they are completely randomized or for the trophies completely fucking insane.
I'm glad to see you guys made a full length video.
I discovered you through shorts and I'm never dissapointed, even if it's info about Pokemon I knew before, you guys somehow manage to either squeeze in info I didn't know or make it so properly entertaining that I enjoy rewatching it :)
Wow, you guys actually uploaded a video!
Glad to see that you went over how the Pikachu Bed, Tentacool Doll, and Unown Doll are impossible to be obtained, especially since this was discovered very recently.
Nobody... But KarpfeDiem did that last year before you xD
Wow, I had the Clefairy poster and I thought it was pretty rare since most of the time we got dolls. Also, after you use Mystery Gift then your opponent in the Viridian Battle House will be the trainer you interacted with (instead of Cal)
Every lunchtime in highschool...i had gold and my friend had silver and we would do mystery gift every day😂😂😂😂
A lot of stuff here, didnt know almost anything. Hope the channel grows a lot, u guys deserve it!
Great video! Everything was great, narration, content, bg music and editing!
I never knew that GSC had so many options for decoration
I love decorating my room on stadium 2.
The day I discovered it actually changed the room on my cartridge was a very pleasant surprise
Glad you guys are making long form videos. Love the production values, the editing, and the research that goes into these. Looking forward to more!
Always nice to hear a good old dutch accent, feels like home
Did you guys know about the pikachu pocket color. Which granted mystery gifts to your pkmn gold. Which was insane at the time. It used the laser function. Which was almost never used on the gameboy.
I had the original pikachu pocket back in the day but I found oit about the mystery gift function way too late
@@d0ubleslap
Pikachu pocket was suprisingly fun. It had a step counter and the pikachu sprite was awesome. I remember spending days shaking the device to get more steps.
5:25 idk how many of you were ever blessed enough to battle mewtwo on Stadium but it was something different man my brother did a lot of this
Getting a Virtual Boy as canon in a Pokémon game is blowing my mind
This is really good for your first long form video, I never knew about this
Hey guys, amazing long form video, really well made and look forward to seeing more. One bit of criticism, this does kinda feel like your short form content extended for 7 minutes. NOT STRETCHED! It’s not full of filler in fact it’s very snappy and efficient, it could do with ebbing a flowing a little as I was expecting the video to stop after each section. Once you’ve got the pacing down this will be one of the best channels for Pokémon no doubt!
I think you guys have just got so good with brevity and speaking quickly lol which is great because everyone hates people who drone on and stretch out videos. But I do feel you guys can calm down the pacing and let the viewer wind down with the video
Haha yeah we've already discussed this at length, and as our first vid we were just thinking of packing in as much content in as possible to keep people engaged regardless of the length, but we totally agree it's a different style of video we need to master
The analog GB operator and PkHex can also help to get all the decorations on older hardware.
I just love gen 1 and 2 content
Personally, I beg to differ. Someone, somewhere, under the radar, managed to get every single thing within Pokemon GSC, and never told anyone about it because no one must ever know.
Personally, for Pokemon games, I think that a Pokedex completion is more than enough for 100%. As for Legends: Arceus, I'm pretty sure I need to perfect every single Pokedex entry as well as completing all the quests. Including the Mythical quests... The only thing I'm missing for the mythical quests is Sword and Shield save data to unlock access to Shaymin. Sure, I already transferred one from BDSP, but there is certain criteria for Pokemon HOME to complete every single Pokedex in that thing, so... yeah.
_Can you tell that I'm completely insane?_
If they add achievements to Nintendo games, getting the 100% in pokemon is gonna have us all like 👴🏻🧓🏻
Wow, you can actually see at 6:53, what game is running on the TV screen, which depending on the console is either Super Mario 64, Super Mario World, Super Mario Bros. or Kirby.
It's actually nuts, that they went the extra mile for that.
Yeah, totally! Let's not forget the room changing with the time of day as well, being it would be late at night in your GBC cart, and it be late at night, with your room dark as well, with only the faint glow of your TV as light.
If anyone's curious, the games are as followed.

It’s because of people like you, willing to put in the effort, that I can experience more of my favorite franchise that is lost to time. ❤
I swear I remember having an Unknown doll in Pokemon silver on the desk.
I had no clue this game was this deep. It was intended to be the last Pokemon. I stopped playing after gen 2.
I used to do mystery gifts with people at school all the time in gen 2. The Lapras Doll was one of the first things a friend and I got. I wouldn't have ever guessed it was considered very rare.
I never even bothered. In fact, I never even went back home after I left the first time.
The rate NOT improving due to duplicates would drive me up a wall.
Oh dang, I got the Lapras doll and didn't know how special it was at the time.
So happy to see full videos!
I never knew Pokemon was so complicated
I loved collecting these dolls as a kid! No idea it went as deep as it did.
You are so cute together as a couple.
The moment when you realized that dead battery ruined all that work
You'd have to get all the Japanese events on Pokémon Crystal and complete all the spin-offs games, because obviously, a Pokémon Generation isn't just its core games (although the second one had the least number of them).
I legitimately had the Tentacool doll back in the day courtesy of Pokemon Stadium 2. (It also got me the Surfing Pikachu doll). I was admittedly using the PAL UK version, which did come out later than the others.
I remember spending hours trying to catch suicine / Raikou / entei, bc they always jumped grass locations when crossing areas. And when you see them they run, or Roar to cause you to run (dumb, dumb, dumb!)
FINALLY caught one of them, and.... their stats and moves were trash. Bunch of wasted effort
Atleast nowadays you can always train a legendary up with the candies etc, or does that just take away the magic a bit hmmm 🤔
I love the music in your videos ❤.. just males everything better ❤
Only ever pokedex I did complete as a kid, good old trade back with link cables
You can tell this is insane because I didn't even know Pokemon Stadium 2's round 2 even *existed*
I used a GameShark as a kid. Only way I was really seeing these lol
yeah....rocking Pokemon TCG music!
I'm quite satisfied with just the gift from Mom 😅
My brother had the onix doll...always wondered how he got it...two decades later 😂 and i do know now...
This was 100% the hardest thing yo do
I wonder how they handled this in the 3DS ports of Silver, Gold and Crystal, however knowing Game Freak they probably did nothing that made nearly all of them unobtainable.
believe it or not the 3ds has an ir sensor that works with mystery gift but without any stadium compatibility the rarest items are from those titles are unobtainable still 😩
This games made and make me so happy ❤ so much crazy love in unnecessary details
Please, more longer form content like this, I love ot
I just want that Snorlax doll.
…Back in the Day.
Clearly we have the technology now 😂
That's not true!
German UA-camr KarpfeDiem did in a UA-cam Documentary!
Can you get the decorations that don't require the stadium games on virtual console?
you're properly out of luck with the stadium items indeed but the mystery gift function will actually work with another 3ds due to it having an IR sensor on top
This feels like a april fools video, i have never heard of decorations in gen 2
Karpfediem did it😊
Great video, thanks
Please make more videos!
Man i can't imagine trying to complete all this, not that it isnt impressive but the time needed would be crazy i can only think?
The german UA-camr karpfediem did it with gen 1,2,3 and gen 4 is coming soon.
I’m pretty sure there are several people have 100%-ted this game… that said, I doubt its many.
I had the surfing pikachu doll
Can’t wait for more content ❤
I had to steal a link cable from my cousin to complete this game.
Still feel bad about it
Somehow I got all the furniture from stadium 2 without doing much
Awesome video 🎉
Didn't you need a japanese cell phone and stadium 2 and a friend if you didn't have 2 Gameboys and isn't one of the dolls soft locked just completely unavailable?
Some items became unnecessarily rare or impossible to obtain due to a coding oversight and the unown doll in particular is essentially just left over data that the developers ultimately decided they didn't want in the game so it's not tied to any method of obtaining outside of messing with the games code and cheating it in as far as I'm aware
Now I'm super curious how the time machine held items are programmed. Cause that has to be some kind of weird look up sheet in GSC if Stadium of all things has this unique interaction.
My best friend and I used a brainboy to reset the in game clock while the other was mystery gifting with the girl on pokemon stadium 2.
Wash rinse repeat perfect efficiency back and forth back and forth til I got everything for my room and his game was eventually erased
Wait you can decorate your room in gen 2?! Never knew that
Actually Jahkxun did like a decade ago. Whole video series on it
Are most of the songs T the beginning of the video part of the TCG Gameboy game soundtrack?
Only the very first, every other song comes from the respective titles being show
@@d0ubleslap brought back some very hidden memories!
*laughs in gameshark*
Great video.
My copy had the unknown doll.
Did someone mae a living dex, one normal one shiny max lvl each in every gen?
Make more of these videos!
For a first video this is good
It can be done in the Virtual Boy versions and with the N64 online expansion pack Pokemon Stadiums?
Awww you guys in a long distance relationship, that is so sweet. I hope you guys can meet up together. You guys are a cute couple. Read the about me. Best of luck, we can double date if you guys ever vaction in las Vegas were me and the Mrs met
Guess depends on what u mean with 100%..
@KarpfeDiem Do it 100%
I'm still not sure if the lady voice in the video is AI generated or not.
Bro I did this when I was 10-15! Horrid. Would not recommend. But, you should change your title. Cause I did do this.
How can I get the last 3 decorations with the coin case glitch? I read somewhere you can year's back but I forgot where
Why doesn’t someone modify the original roms ?
Is it even possible for the Amnesia Psyduck to be shiny?
crazy
The song is haunting me in my dreams, where is it from?
The intro one
Don't worry guys, we can't even purchase these games anymore. (Great content btw)
Yeah, but they're still abundant on emulators. And if you jailbreak your 3DS, you can even play them on Nintendo hardware like they were legit copies. That's how I ended up with several versions of Red and Blue on my New 2DS XL (the first two were legitimately bought.)
