Even when im lazy af I still help my parent knowing they are old and cant do everything on their own. Out of most owners in these restaurants Gordon visited, Michael changed his ways pretty quick and did well and wasnt too arrogant or in denial. Atleast he changed for the best is what im Saying.
If you're interested in what happened to the restaurant after Kitchen Nightmares:
Leone's in Montclair, NJ is still open. Yelp reviews since filming are mostly positive with the odd off service/dish. Trip Advisor reviews are more mixed and also suggest the service has off days. Chef's Carchi and Darryl were fired after filming. Michael is still there but staff reveal that he is there a few hours and spends the rest of the time in a local bar. Sadly Rosemary Leone passed away on 5th April 2014
no guts...You need to care about your restaurant like about your woman, mother, kids etc.
mostly, you need to have guts to be ready to start new when it is the time
after plandemic touched all restaurants, especially in Paris, Europe we need all to start over, dont look back on how much you owe, especially during service, positive vibes only.

Rose was joking around. What she really wanted was a son like Gordon. Smart, full of energy, the one that will carry on with her legacy and make her business flourish. But all she got was a pair of useless [swear word of choice], one is a work shy, lazy ass, and another one is a freak. The restaurant is still open apparently, but that's not thanks to Michael, who still sits on his ass watching football, it's thanks to the people who work for him. Trudy is awesome, she just always tells it as it is and works hard, also very good hearted.

I'm surprised that how not much people are talking about Trudy. You can just tell by her voice that she was genuinely concerned and had enough of the lack of management going around. She really deserved a spotlight since she was managing the restaurant for a long time .

That was the first thing i remember being told by my father when I first found a clam on a beach as a kid. Never forgot it since even though I've never eaten or prepared them.
As an Italian, I wouldn't say "I knew" that the first time I cooked clams.

Once Gordon reorganised the place with new menu and new electronic ordering system the kitchen and front of the house adapted instantly and worked almost perfectly.
You can really tell mama Rosa put together an amazing team in her prime. All they lacked was management and direction.

Very refreshing episode, the owner knew how to run a restaurant, then got sick, after 2 years in a coma she was horrified to see her son had run it into the ground, and when Ramsay asked her what was wrong with the place she gave the most insightful answer: Everything.

@@user0553 Probss her body, she seems like someone who wasnt overly healthy anyway. She was very overweight, probably had diabetes, and probably smoked. No way her heart is good. She was a lovely woman judging by this but from a medical pov her complications were due to her health.

I'm at halfway point of this video, but I think this is the first time I've seen one of the owners admitting that they are at fault. And I've watched plenty of episodes, hats to Mike realizing his mistakes and shortcomings, it's a pretty tough pill to swallow for some people.
Yet he did not stay on course and went back to his old ways fairly quickly after.

After watching Gordon eating all that i can totally understand why he stopped Kitchen Nightmares
I am not a very emotional person, people say that the decades I spent as a paramedic dealing with trauma and those who are passing hardened me, but Rose is a beautiful soul. When I read she had passed away at a young age (64) I came very close to tears. The fact that Michael not only improved but in 2024 still owns the restaurant with a 4.2 rating on Google is impressive. Ten years after she passed, she looking down on him and smiling.
She opens a successful restaurant then goes into a coma just to come back to her employees trashing her place.
