Lol, it's nice to take a break from darkness and gore every once in a while! 😅 Gorgeous oasis of green foliage and running water in the city - the waterway reminds me of Rock Creek Park that's in the Washington DC Metro area. Another fun exploration - thanks!
A beautiful little hamlet with some rich history, then build a bridge and it's open to the world. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of Scotland. 🙂❤️
I love old bridges ❤ and that view doesn’t suck. I enjoyed seeing you on HGP not sure why I I like watching hoof trimming. Always love seeing Scotland. Thanks for the great history ❤
I've been living in Edinburgh for a few months now and I'm amazed by how many beautiful places I discover that I haven't heard of before. Yesterday I ventured up Queensferry Road starting from the west end of Princes Street and arrived at Dean Bridge and thought wow, a deep gorge in the middle of the city?? I couldn't see much from the bridge itself because the view is obstructed by the compact wall, but I could tell that's a good spot for photography. I looked the place up on Google Maps and found out there is a village, as well! It looks like a perfect place to spend an afternoon. I can only imagine how amazing it must be at dusk or when the street lighting is on.
Absolutely brilliant. This has blown me away. Wow. I didn't know anything about this place. Production and footage is very professional. Thank you very much
I'm sure I can't have been the only person from Edinburgh or surrounding areas who hadn't even heard or seen this place until instagram lol, only saw it a few years back, was quite the revelation to find out it is a short walk from Princess street, haven't visited but one day! Nice vid ser
Your not I was raised in the Royal mile many years ago thought I knew Edinburgh never saw Dean Village. I wish I had. The one major thing I love about this is how it as been protected. Long May this be.
The remains from the neolithic point to your "gory|" story, lol! In such a beautiful oasis, no less! Often we don't see what's most beautiful when it's right before our eyes. Glad you ran through there eyes wide open. And for sharing this online! Bits of it reminded me of Boulder Creek, in Boulder, CO.
I only just come across your vids via your bro HoofGp.. thanks to him I'm binge watching your videos. Love the way you show and explain all sorts of things, around Scotland. Can't go back to visit easily now with my husby (stuck in wheelchair with full care needs). I could go, but would be difficult managing for me. ohwell. one day.. Thanks for taking us with.
Beautiful view of something special!! Yet, where did 76 mills get their grain from?? Are there literally thousands of hectares of wheat farms around Edinburough? Would love to know!
Nice to see there are some truly peaceful places. Though work at the mills would have been hard. I wish I had known about this when I was in Edinburgh years ago.
I used to commute and pass through Dean village before Instagram and TikTok. You can’t go through it anymore without university students duck-face pouting, arm on their hip and waist contorted to the side with a tripod. I also had a near death experience at the Gormley lake behind the gallery. That area is marginally quieter… and more spiritual for me.
In May 2002, Louise Tiffney was murdered at her home in the Dean Village area of Edinburgh. Her son Sean Flynn was suspected of having killed her but her body wasn't found until 2017 buried in the grounds of Gosford House in East Lothian. Sean was due to be retried after a previous acquittal but in 2021 he was found dead in Spain. He was believed to have taken his own life. That's certainly a dark tale.
How did I not even know this exists!? This is definitely on my list of things I can do in Edinburgh to avoid going to see you! :)
Seems to be quite a well kept secret after all… there are no coffee shops there though… (I did see a cart) 😂😎
Nice Graeme, a fine example of brotherly love! K.
Oh Graeme 😂😂😂
Now, now Graeme, be nice😁
@@scotlandunplugged Is there a wheelie case curfew? Perhaps Airbnb type short lets activity is all you hear in this very quiet beautiful neuk.?
Beautiful breath taking
great video, love the history and stories of Scotland, what a beautiful country
Thank you! 🙃
I love small towns and villages! There seems to be so much more history than big cities.
The number of times that I’ve been to Edinburgh and I never knew of this place! It’s beautiful!
Next time ask someone Graham, as it is hard to find.
@@duncancallum I definitely will! thank you!
It's really worth a visit. I lived in Edinburgh for many years.

Very pretty village. Scotland is on my bucket list. Lots to explore it seems!

Thank you. Looking forward to future gore. 😀
and here we are, now I have another reason to go back to Edinburgh (the first time I didn't visit Dean Village)
Haha. Any excuse is good!
Wow,what a stunning place, got to do a painting of this landscape.
Beautiful place- no gore needed!
Absolutely gorgeous,wow!!😍
What an amazing looking place.
Simply stunning!
E being able to learn about Scotland. I hope to visit one day.
I’m biased but we’ll worth the trip 😂
Certainly a great place to visit - well done.
❤beautiful views and fabulous history love the teasers that are “ admittedly not true only in books” So fun you put fun things in there like that ❤
If I make my eyes go a wee bit squinty, it's like I'm getting a Scottish history lesson from Obi-Wan Kenobi. Love the channel!
Nice to see there are some truly peaceful places. Though work at the mills would have been hard. I wish I had known about this when I was in Edinburgh years ago.
Wish i had explored it last year, but will next time.
Definitely worth a look 🙂
Beautiful place 👍👍👍💯💯💯❤️
Darn it--no satanic mills 😪 Oh well. I settle for the beautiful scenery. Excellent video!
Thank you! 🙂
I suppose the working conditions in those 19th century mills were bad enough without anything satanic going on.
Lovely place. This is where my 2nd great grandfather James Porteous was christened as a baby. 😊
Great job my friend
Thank you!
I was in Edinburgh back in 1978 , I was in the US Navy we all had blast for this Port of Call
It’s definitely a party town 🙂
Yes we were partying with some of y’all’s Marines for a couple of nights
Lovely as always. Mostly commenting to help the channel ❤
Thank you! 🙂
I visited Edinburgh in the 90s and had no idea it was there. I definitely need to come back and explore there.
Well worth a wander about 🙂
Wish I had known about this place the last time I was there.
Will definitely go there next time.
Thank you.
Well worth a visit 🙂
Fantastic!
It's lovely, I'd be happy to live there. Like to see it in winter 🥶
Slippy cobble stones 😅
YES ❣️
Looks like it would be a nice place to live.
❤
Hoof GP (guess he's your younger bro) is still cranking much more addictive content! But yours is still great! 👍🏼
It's hard to beat the allure of spurting puss. Perhaps you could stage a simulated lancing of an abscessed rock wall for your thumbnails.
Well... that's rude.
Haha. I’d have a hard time competing with those hooves 😂

It’s definitely busier!
One of these days the locals will have had enough of the Tik-Tokkers and Instagrammers and will fence the place off. Or charge an admittance fee.
I’m told to tell you The Hoof GP sent me! 😂
It’s a lovely little village.
You might have had better luck finding the darkness if you’d gone there at night.
😂
Very pretty place
I could live there, no problem.
So could I 🙂
@@scotlandunplugged Ha!
Church attendance was mandatory... yup.
Very Scottish indeed...
😂😂😂😂😂
😂
Great story... but no explanation of the statue with his willy out for all to see? 😂😂😂
Haha. There are two of them at either end of the Dene… I’m but actually sure what they’re all about 😂

Beautiful area these days. What's wrong with lead poisioning. I figure that's ALL the US Navy missed poisoning me with.
😂
Im from Edinburgh. Had to move away. Too bloody expensive now which is a shame
Yeah, it seems to get pricier every year 😳
I've seen paranormal shows in the theater and some meal rooms
Dean Village is pretty but tiny, so you might be disappointed by the extent. It's blink and you miss it.
The Hoof GP sent me ...
Edinburgh ❤ where my clan hails ❤
I know what was wrong with it, religion 😂. On my bucket list now though ❤
The dark satanic mills 😂
😂
Pineapple?
By the way: on top of the pavilion that is no way a pineapple 😂 It’s an ornamental cone
😂
Thanks for editing the graffiti. Hate that stuff.
Pineapples are New World, darling...
This is not a secret. It's not a worst-kept secret, it's not a secret at all.
Not enough gore... 😢
🙃😂
😂
Well, if you jump of that 30m high bridge that will provide us with a dose of gore.
Its lucky that village is in Scotland. Around here, they would have torn it down for modern development...😠
More gore... another William Wallace installment then?
Working on it now 😂
Too much face-time. Not enough content... which is really what tourists are seeking for information.
I live in edinburgh and didn’t know about this lmao
❤
