- Hi and welcome back! Today I made for you my version of Flancocho, or flancake.
Ingredients:
For the flan
4 eggs
1 12 oz can evaporated milk
1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
For the cake:
1 cup sifted cake flour
3 eggs
1 stick unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
For the caramel:
1 1/3 cup sugar

Thanks sharing with us. The cake part looked translucent/raw. When using darker pans, it helps to lower the temp and bake for a tad bit longer. Or else the baked goods don't bake evenly and/or completely.

I've done it with chocolate cake, redvelvet cake, pumkin cake and pumpkinflan. pinapple cake, coconut cake and coconut flan. but i use the boxed cakes. i don't have the patience to try and make the cakes from scratch. i may try it this time cuz you always make the hardest recipies look sooo easy. they are all so yummmmmyyy!

in the back of the cake flower it says to use baking powder do I put that in the cake? will it effect the cake if I leave it out?
