    In this episode we are sharing a delicious dessert that will for sure impress everyone around you (physically and over the web) - Flancocho. Flancocho is the perfect marriage between a creamy custard and a moist cake. It's super easy and delicious, you don't want to miss this one! Let's continue this quarantine cooking marathon!

    Ingredients:
    ¾ cup of sugar
    1 pkg cream cheese (room temperature)
    1 can evaporated milk
    1 can sweetened condensed milk
    4 eggs
    1 chocolate cake mix plus ingredients listed in the back of the cake mix box (eggs, oil and water)

    thank you so much for this, I made this for my daughter's 11 Bday party just after Christmas. Just FYI American Test Kitchen (Magic Chocolate Flan Cake) has a great recipe on how to make this cake. Way more expensive than your recipe because of the cake aspect of the recipe. They also explain the science part of the transformation. I also used condensed coconut milk for the flan. UUFFF what a game-changer. a Coconut cheese flan chocolate cake.

    Thanks for pointing out the "flip". I was a little confounded at first. I wonder if the flan mixture is more dense then say a fudge brownie mix...what would happen if the flan was added first in the flancocho recipe vs a theoretical fudge brownie recipe? Love this recipe guys!

      Good luck with the recipe! The tray is 16 1/2" x 15" x 5 1/4" high. It's the Calphalon Nonstick Roaster.

    Hi!
    I just found your channel and like it very much. Now, I have a question and and suggestion for you.
    Could you tell me the size of the bunt cake you used for the recipe?
    Suggestion:
    For future baking recipes it would be nice for you to give the size and depth of the mold you'd be using. Unless one is a savvy baker with many baking molds to choose from, sometimes is hard to guess. Many other cooks in other channels don't usually do it and it's discouraging.
    Hope you don't mind my suggestion and thanks in advance for your kind attention.🤗

      Vilma! Thank you so much for liking the channel and thank you for the suggestion. Really appreciate your input. Our bundt cake pan is 10 x 3 1/2 inches (about 12 cups in volume). If your pan is a different size, you can still make this recipe. Let me know and I will be happy to guide you through.

    Do I have to bake the cake first then add the flan mixture or bake both at the same time?

    I'm a little confused
    You put the cake batter first , shouldn't it be the flan first. When you flipped it, the cake was in the bottom?

    I don’t get it you put in the cake batter first and then the flan batter but when you flipped it around you turned out with the flan on top and the cake in the bottom wasn’t it supposed to be the other way around 🙄 the flan in the bottom and the cake on top I’m confused 🤷‍♀️

      That's why this cake is so magical! 🤩 For what it's worth, I suspect it has something to do with the leavening in the cake creating air bubbles in the batter, which lifts it to the top.

    How exactly does the flan and chocolate end up flipped during the baking process? I don't get it.

      Totally agree that it seems magical! My best guess is that it has to do with the baking soda in the cake mixture. As the leavening kicks in, it creates bubbles in the cake mix, which make it lighter than the flan, so it floats to the surface.

    Hola! Hice su flancocho y la receta está perfecta! Fue toda una sensación. ❤️ Quisuera hacer le una pregunta. Si yo quiero extra caramelo para vestir sobre el plan, lo podría hacer? Quiere hacer caramelo aparte, pero no quiero que se endurezca lo quiero tener de reserva para luego ponérselo encima al flancocho o cualquier otro flan. Cómo hacer caramelo de reserva pero que no se endurezca? Gracias y éxitos!!

      Hola norma! Que bueno escuchar que te gusto la receta. Para hacer caramelo que no se endurezca a temperatura ambiente hay que echarle grasa - leche y mantequilla. Aquí te envío un link de una receta que yo he utilizado - bromabakery.com/how-to-make-homemade-caramel/

    She poured in the cake batter(top part) first in the demo, and then flan(bottom part) but when she pulled it out ot had flan on the top and cake on the bottom 🤔

      Exactly! That’s why it’s called the impossible torte too! I talk about it in the video - the mixtures flip while in the oven baking. Pretty cool, give it a try.

    No entiendo si ustedes son boricuas,pq no hablan español,en la isla la mayor parte de la gente hablan español,yo llevo viviendo 33 años en la Florida y siempre llevo mi español donde quiera que voy!!! A mucho orgullo!!!

    You put the cake mix first. So how come when u took it out of the pan, the flan is in top?? Shouldn't the cake mix be on the top when u take it out of the pan??

      That’s the magic of it!! It completely flips while it is cooking!! We talk about it in the video
