    I love your channel, you brought back my childhood. My mom passed away when i was 16 year old in 2003 and my grandma passed away a year after her. They didn't get to teach me how to cook Puerto Rican Boricua. Now that the holidays is this week I'm on your channel writing a grocery list of things to buy tomorrow.
    Thank you and God bless you and keep your little sense of humor.
    Ps. I don't like raisins either but my grandma use to put raisin in the budin and arroz con leche. lol

    Did you make this in a bain marie? Also do you have a recipe for it using canned coconut milk? My aunt in P.R. used to crack a fresh coconut and make her own coconut milk. But since I think that's too much work, can it be made with canned coconut milk. She always made it in a bain marie, so it came out soft, but firm and always caramelized the pan. Regretfully, no one in our family ever wrote down her recipe, but we all miss it.

    Is there a difference between cloves and spiced cloves? Is this tea the same tea you made for the Arroz dulce? I'm trying to make this tonight for my mom but I'm really confused on the ingredients for the tea. And how much water did you use for that tea? Thank you

    Hi. Do you have the recipe to post?

  • @oterrabcire
    @oterrabcire 8 років тому

    Question: My mom taught me this recipe when I was a teenager. I love making this because it's delicious and very easy. However, I've never done the spiced tea addition. I've always just added the spices directly to the batter. What does using the spiced tea do differently to the taste or consistency of the final product?

    • @sweetsandbeyond
      @sweetsandbeyond  8 років тому +1

      +Eric Barreto I think it does. It infuses the whole dish with the spices. It's less stirring and combining of the batter.

    • @oterrabcire
      @oterrabcire 8 років тому +1

      +Sweets and Beyond I wasn't questioning your intent. I just wanted to know if it makes a difference in the taste or consistency adding the tea or just adding spices directly to the batter.

      @sweetsandbeyond  8 років тому

      I was just answering you. I said to me it does make a difference.

    Please help Ida! I'm making this as a surprise for thanksgiving for my family. I made a test trial on Saturday night, but the caramel topping was half destroyed when I unmolded the pudding the next day. Half was stuck on the cooking dish. When I made the caramel I heard it cracking that night. Is that normal? How long should I wait to cool the caramel molding before I place the filling in? Also after the pudding has cooked, how long should i wait for it to cool down before I remove the mold? Do I let it cool room temperature and then unmold? Or put it in the fridge for a few hrs to cool down and then unmold. Please help.

    the Budin de Pan is delicious! the best that I have ever tasted. I do, however go easy on the sugar. I have made it 4 times since i first saw the video. Aida, as someone recomended, you should also do your videos in spanish.

      AIDA you don’t have to make your videos in Spanish because You usually do a bilingual version. Además los que hablan español ya saben hacer las recetas jaja. Oh! Don’t pay any mind to those that say I don’t add this, I add this! Viewers this is Aida’s version and cooking is different variations. Our grandmothers taught us their different styles! Just Enjoy! Thank you AIDA
