Airedale Terrier:
Airedale terriers are highly intelligent and energetic dogs who make great family pets.
They excel at agility and love to hike. Learn more about living with Airedale terriers.
The largest of the terriers, the Airedale is a highly intelligent dog who is smart, loyal, and affectionate.
Airedales have plenty of personality and make great family pets who are gentle with children, love a good romp and play, but are highly protective of their home.
Their short, wiry coat is easy to care for, and while no dog is totally hypoallergenic, the breed is often more easily tolerated by those with allergies.
They are active and require a moderate amount of exercise. Airedales are a robust breed that usually live long, healthy lives.

I have had an Airedale for 10 years and never found anything that could be considered a con. He is the best!
On my 5th ( have 2 now a 12 and a 1.5 ) only my 5th is a barker. But only barks at any squirrels or birds that think they can run my fence line etc
Great loving loyal smart dogs
I have mild asthma and never had an issue
@@chuckruckus3648 I have my first. He is a joy. Tonight, he was stubborn about eating. But sometimes that happens. I'm glad you love your Airedales.
We've had six over 30 years, fantastic dogs. Be well all.
We are on our 4th Airedale. They are crazy, fun adventurous and total comedians! His only job is to make us laugh which he does every day. They are very good minded with their humans. Little kids could get knocked over, but there isn’t a mean bone in his body! He also doesn’t bark much which is a plus. He only barks if something is going on that we should take a look at. Super smart! He gets bored, so have fun and they will too!.
I have three of these
We have had two different Purebred Airedales. One hated cats( we got him at 6-8 months from the Humane Society. The other we got at 9 weeks & loved cats & kittens. Both were wonderful family dogs, extremely intelligent. They were easy to train & both learned to open doors & cupboards on their own.
Airedales probably aren’t going to start a fight but they might end one.
I love this video!
i have a suggestion, keeping it on the trend of terriers i would love for you to cover the Tibetan terrier!
My Airedale Winston he's 5 years old he is the most intelligent dog I've ever had and he loves kids he lets kids hug him and kiss him and he thinks he's just a kid himself but when it comes to the homeless people especially one that acts crazy he goes off his rocker he already B one homeless guy that was trying to break into my condo he bit another homeless guy that was trying to steal a rack of ribs off my BBQ outside I live in California and we're full of homeless people here and most of them are crazy that's why I got this breed of dog he can sort out the good people from the bad he takes care of his daddy
Any things to watch for? I’m considering and people seem to only say great things. Just that they need stimulation but fantastic.
@@Plisken65 that's why at the end of this year I'm moving from California it sucks here homeless people are all over the street laying on the sidewalk illegal aliens the price of an apartment here is about 3 to 4,000 I'm going to sell my condo and get me a nice place in Kentucky with some acreage for my dog I'm Not Looking Back
@@HarrisonHollers on my 5th ( have a 12 and a 1.5 ) great loyal loving dogs. Need exercise need fun but also will lay in couch and watch tv with you.
Growl and stance will make unfriendly think hard of staying unfriendly. Never had aggression issues
They're absolutely fantastic at removing vermin from your backyard. My friend's Airedale turned his backyard into a gopher, mouse, rat, bird, and lizard massacre. They also love to play ball and lick feet.
Can UA-camrs please STOP 🛑 telling us to like and subscribe right at the beginning of the video. We have no clue who u are or what you gonna say. Its irritating, time wasting and makes me wanna hit thumbs down right away. SAVE THAT FOR THE END. PLEASE 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Shut up
Dont make me come over there and kick your ass
The answer for me was a resounding yes.
Be warned--Airedales are so much bigger than any other terrier, but they still have that terrier personality. They don't realize this and will try to do things like fit into spaces suited to smaller dogs
🤩
Would an Airedale happily run with it's owner for around 10km a couple of times a week?
Yes imo. Mine walks 5-10 miles a day with me though rarely in a straight line
Work up to it. Runners forget that people train for it but their dogs haven't.
Do airedales bark a lot
They are vocal and active dogs. In adolescence, they require a lot of attention and exercise. Otherwise, they will become bored and may bark a lot. Otherwise, they are great watchdogs and will alert you by barking when someone knocks on the door, walks by the window, or at the mailman when they are delivering the mail. They tend to mellow out as the enter adulthood, but are still more active and vocal than many dog breeds.
Not in My experience
One of our Airedales rarely ever barked except when people or animals came into our property
There is NO cons with Airedales ❤️
Why do trainers and dog people NEVER, just be honest about the downside--of ANY breed? These are TERRIERS, no sir/mam, they do not want to "chase" your cat--they will tear it limb from limb. Geez.
One of our Airedales adored cats & kittens. He slept with them all the time. If they are raised with cats they can love them.
It just give it a small bite and a gentle shake, until all life has left the body of the prey 😉. Mine will try to chase our local (european)deer, if she got loose.
Do dogs like the smell of human farts
no
@@notkason8066 why not and I thought it is good for them
Dogs don't recognize smell and taste of poop so I'm pretty sure it's impartial on it
I hate automated narration!
😂😊
😊
They're A holes. One of the only dog breeds that has bitten me more than once
I think it’s more of the owner training the dogs instead of the whole breed being “ a holes”
They are known to be a good judge of character .
Sounds like a you problem
I was bitten as a child by two different Cocker Spaniels. By children by a Chow, an Australian Shepherd & German Shepherds. So any dog can bite.
@@AllisonLansberry you got a point. Dacher got the highest bite rate, excluding the crazy micro dogs, who get away with everything BC they are just scared little things.
