Thank you for this tutorial. I’ve learned a lot from your video. You did a great job. I have an Airedale puppy, 4 months old. I plan to do all his grooming.
This is so helpful! I don’t plan to do this myself except for possibly the carding after a groom if the groomer isn’t carding. I’ve sent this video to a new person who will be grooming our Airedale in case she’s not thoroughly familiar with this particular grooming. Thank you!!
You are so welcome.
Beautiful work!
Beautiful Airedale !
He is!
I was wondering, why do you do all of the dog so thoroughly before the bath?
Because I get a better finish, and less blow dry time.
Great work ! I stopped stripping and went to clipping. Much easier on the dog.
I agree. Carding the coat helps to keep it healthy.
Hi could you please explain the term rolling the coat, I’m new to Airedale’s,hoping to get a puppy real soon, thank you from 🇬🇧..xx

I have always had my Airedale clipped and he has the most beautiful rust black coat just like Grover 🥰
Great video; thank you very much for the detail explanation on how to keep the topcoat color by combining clipping and carding. I do have one question. Do you also card the throat area, top of the skill, top of ears and cheeks? Thanks again!
Great video. Thank you for this tutorial. Where can I buy the restraint you are using on this video?

That yelping is he probably is getting his ear nicked a little bit . Ive had Airedales all my life, since I was 17, had 7 àt one time i allways did the triming with a clippers ,only stripped once couple of days and still wasnt done. The 7 at one time all lived in the house with me great dogs ,never had any trouble only with one when id bring them to town hed always snick off usually a mile away at the cafè. They have left me with an endless supply of humorous storeies might have t tolerate them for a while when they er pups ,but they er very smart good hunters Copanions ,clowns and protectors. I only have one now im69 yrs old this could be the last one so im going to spoil him just like my grandson❤😊 grandson.
No, sorry, he was not nicked, he is just bratty. But I agree, they are fun dogs. I owned Kerry Blue Terriers for 30 years. I adore the Terrier personality.
What kind of harness is that? It looks awesome!!
I would like to buy it.
Are you still grooming Grover? He looks a lot like our dear boy. We are looking for another Airedale. You mentioned you are based in Tampa. We are in Orlando but we can’t find any local breeders. Could you ask the owner where they got Grover?
I do not, but I do know someone that could give a referral.
If you know of a good breeder I would be grateful. Thank you! @@grandestyledoggrooming
We have two Airedales and we learned how to strip but would love to clip. How do you keep the color? How old is Grover? Stripping is so time consuming.
Card out the undercoat at lest once a week. Use a 4 blade on the body to give enough length to card. Grover was about 2 here.
@@grandestyledoggrooming thank you! That is helpful.
Hello what are you using to card his coat after clipping? More specifically the type of carding/stripping knife .
The brand is Franklin Fine tooth. But I have since bought the Jodi Murphy carding knife and it is by far the best.
@@grandestyledoggrooming is a carding knife same as stripping knife? So you strip after clipping?
What kind of cordless clippers are you using? I need some that are very lightweight with long battery life.
Heiniger Opal is a great choice.
What scissors work well with airedale fur?
Zolitta Mirage
When you say “card out” does that mean using a stripping knife
Yes, I also use a pumice stone.
What do you mean about stripping or clipping affects the color of his hair
Clipping can inhibit the course dark guard hairs from coming in and allow the light soft undercoat to proliferate.
What type of clippers are you using?
Andis Pulse ZR
@@grandestyledoggrooming Nice thanks. We purchased one after doing some googling and it does not cut:( We will try this one. thanks again
I have had terrible experiences with people grooming my Airedales; namely, they cut my Stella’s hair like a Yorkie. How do I tell a dog groomer that I want an Airedale cut just like the video?
Tell them that you want AKC breed Profile. If they don’t know what you mean, find another groomer.
What do you mean by "roll the coat"?

Poorly filmed
I am a groomer, not a video producer 🙂
@@grandestyledoggrooming i understand but it Was impossible to see what you were doing and learn from it.
Ignore the naysayer! It was very helpful. And if the naysayer could do better they wouldn't be watching your video, they'd make their own.
