Loved this video Ronny, can't wait for the next badass rig you stumble upon. It would be awesome to go a little more in depth with the Q and A, but the succinctness of this bit was actually great.
great vid mate! would be good if you they mention the cost of the build that way people who are starting out will have a genral idea of what a rig like these will set them back. love your channel keep up the good work
Hi mates. I has a 89 solid pick up truck which I've just started rebuilding. I love my truck but it is petrol and very thirsty which means that I can't really enjoy it like I wish unless I own a gas station. With this in mind, I went and bought a smashed 95 4runner diesel with an aim to build my hilux onto a 4runner drive train. What are your thoughts? I will really appreciate your inputs.
Great video. Would have liked to see how he has the spare tire - 32's are pushing it for the stock spare brackets - definitely not a difficult fit for someone inclined to make it happen, but it's always nice to see what people do if they have to improvise!
+Ronny Dahl Are there any 00-05 Toyota Rav4s modified for offroad around where you guys roll? I would like to see one of those reviewed. And really need to know what are the 3 things to first modify for offroading for those models.
Hi Ronny, great hilux! I have one here in South Africa and have always considered fiddeling under the hood. It would be great if you can get some dyno charts of the one in the video to give some perspective on the kW gained.
Hi Warren, great truck! I have the same year model in the SR5 version. I've just fitted a 3inch Genie Legendex system to mine and I was pleasantly surprised at the difference it has made in power/torque and drivability. I'm wondering if it it worth while taking the next step and fitting a HPD or Cross Country top mount intercooler... What has your experience been? Did you notice any significant increase in power and torque? Thanks
Hey dude! I'm brand new to your channel and have enjoyed your videos so far! I have been trying to get into 4 wheeling the past while and appreciate your tips! I was wondering what your thoughts would be on a 99 Dodge Durango for off reading. It has a substantial lift on it a 5.9 L V8 and 32inch Ko2s.
From the states here and I notice some hilux trucks have the hooks on the bed and some do not what is up with that is it a certain style of truck bed The first gen Toyota pickups here in the states have them
Austin Carter depends on the badge I think but don't quote me. SR have the hooks and still do on even the new models but SR5 don't (luxury model so to speak)
Why don’t we get the good trucks like this in the states. This is more old school like the mid 80’s/ early 90’s Toyota pickups. Took me forever to find a decent 1990 Toyota 4x4 here.
Hey man love the videos! I was wondering if you could do a 90-95 Mitsubishi montero (I'm from the US) if you could I would be stoked! Thanks for the vids!
Hey Ronny (and Hilux owner), do you have anymore information about the Harrop lockers? How do they compare with ARB lockers? I have the same Hilux (almost - mine is KDN165 2.5 diesel) with factory rear locker and was thinking about adding a Harrop front locker. Is there a locker that will fit the Hilux front diff? Are they reliable? Anything to watch out for? Thanks, Shai
There aren't too many here mate, plus they're going on 15+ years old now. Jeep have only really hit the Aussie market heavily in the last 10 years or so. Got much more chance of seeing a WJ/WK/WK2...
Iowarail my Hilux is the same era but with a 3.4 V6 petrol. I find it's great off road in low range. It wouldn't have the torque the turbo diesels would so in 4H it lacks grunt a little at low revs but I think it does well overall
I whach modified for ideas on my little trucks i have a d90 a d90 whit a camper shell a fj40 a d110 and a 79 dule cab in the works and a plan for a choped 80
hey what would u choose a 60 series with a rebuild but rear end cut by 48 cm or 1989 hilux with 350,000 but can rebuild and custom tray landcruiser more money
I don't know if this guy was nervous but I really feel like Ronny is having to pull information from him.
He definitely had an awkward vibe going on.
Awesome shot at 1:12 , good work Ronny!
You put so much effort into these videos and they are great keep it up
Finally another hilux! thanks Ronny!

+TheSanderz thanks mate, I'm open for suggestions for different or additional questions ;)
Oh god Ronny be careful not to get sucked in to RC stuff, its almost as expensive as the real deal!
gullf1sk lol my rc4wd hilux already cost me 2000usd lol
great vid mate! would be good if you they mention the cost of the build that way people who are starting out will have a genral idea of what a rig like these will set them back. love your channel keep up the good work

Nice setup mate.
Thanks Ronny!

Hey Ronny, great video. What happened with the audio though, levels seem all over the place and inserted afterwards.
+MaXimus666789 apologies for the audio in the first half, had some bad audio issues and thought I'd had it sorted out but clearly that's not the case.
Ronny Dahl no worries, can't wait for the next one.
my old hilux LN166 still using 3l engine... super duper underpower
+CheW “Chewy” BaCCa NZ slow on hills.
@CheW BaCCa Nonsense.
Hoi ronny this hilux has an e-locker. The pros and the cons please.which one is the best an air or e- locker? Karel from belgium.
Ronny, what's your opinion of ifs on these rigs, just got a Geo tracker so.... I'm pumped hehe.
Keep up the excellent work!!
any plans to do a modified triton? preferably an MN lol. love your videos learnt a hell of a lot!
+MrStobbsy01 I think episode 22 will make you very happy then 😉
You should get Torben to host a modified episode and feature your truck.
As a host of a show you need to keep the conversation going. You seem to run out of things to ask the guy.
this isn't an improv show, its two blokes talking about a car
Your right, it felt awkward
Outlaw84 I think it was the guest just a bit awkward.
+Ronny Dahl Are there any 00-05 Toyota Rav4s modified for offroad around where you guys roll? I would like to see one of those reviewed. And really need to know what are the 3 things to first modify for offroading for those models.
Love the mods, always all over it Ronny. I own a hilux 5l which I won't to fix roof racks to any info would be grouse.
Hola amigo. Que relacion de diferencial tiene la hilux?
Se puede poner cubiertas mas grandes? Excelente video!!
Thanks for the video.
Where did he get that panel to fit the gauges? Is it made to fit there properly or is it a generic one that just happens to fit?
awesome truck
I really wish Toyota would offer a diesel option in the Tacoma here in the US.
what brand is the dashmat? Its so hard to get some here in europe -.-
Let's see the remote control hilux in action! Want to see the winch
That's a nice Hilux
Was wondering are you able to put Idrive into this model Ute ?
Repping the Mk5!! great lookin Ute mate!

Great video. Do you have any triton ones lined up?
been subscribed for a while, never commented. Any more footage of the RC Hilux?
Nice job Waz Dog!
Can you ask where he got his flares from ? No one makes them anymore.
Cheers.
Hey Ronny, do u know where Warren got the flares for his hilux?
They are factory flares for a sr-5
Hi Ronny, great hilux! I have one here in South Africa and have always considered fiddeling under the hood. It would be great if you can get some dyno charts of the one in the video to give some perspective on the kW gained.
hi kobus. I have not dynoed the truck yet as i am still doing mods to it. id be happy to answer any of your questions you may have.
Hi Warren, would love to hear what you think of the Harrop E-Locker. How long have you had this locker? Any issues with it? Thanks, Shai
+Shai Amir

+Warren Plumb
Thanks a lot for the info!

We don't have them over here
+Josh Richardson Really? Wow I would never have guessed that. Thanks bro. 👌🏻
get a tacoma, it's basically a hilux
Designandrew Yeah? What year man?
second generation so late 2004 to 2015 is very very similar to the 2005-2014 V6 hilux
From the states here and I notice some hilux trucks have the hooks on the bed and some do not what is up with that is it a certain style of truck bed

Jack Byrne yeah spot on mate

Because there was no market for them in the U.S, and subsequently Toyota made the Tacoma to service the needs of the majority of Americans.
Hey man love the videos! I was wondering if you could do a 90-95 Mitsubishi montero (I'm from the US) if you could I would be stoked! Thanks for the vids!
Would love to see one on a Triton!
I agree, I got a 08 glx-r lifted and all that, would love to see one tho.
In the description, the next ones an MN!
Perfect!! I love my 2011 Triton MN!!
Sweet Hilux

When did Toyota make a 2.5 Toyota?
@@lukedontknow9283 I think the 2.5 engine for the Hilux was made since 2002
@@shaisme strange before I bought my hilux I never saw one, only 1kzte ones
What would be the reason for breathers? I've seen it on a number of videos..
When your diff or transmission is hot and you go through water it'll suck in water breathers equalise the pressure so they don't suck in water
i would really appreciate a lc120/prado
Gunnar Asgeirsson agreed
How much does it cost to modify this?
How do you remove the headlights? I want to upgrade mine.
ishooturface2 losses the grill and undo the screws from the front. It's a fiddly job if you have a bullbar fitted but not impossible
Mint 👌
What model and series
I love the tf2 at 1:53
Why hasn't a jeep xj been on an episode?
There aren't too many here mate, plus they're going on 15+ years old now. Jeep have only really hit the Aussie market heavily in the last 10 years or so. Got much more chance of seeing a WJ/WK/WK2...

And we get the shit gas fed Toyotas here in the States, you guys in Oz are some lucky ones.
Iowarail my Hilux is the same era but with a 3.4 V6 petrol. I find it's great off road in low range. It wouldn't have the torque the turbo diesels would so in 4H it lacks grunt a little at low revs but I think it does well overall
