👉 Can you get outstandingly epic drum sounds from world class recording studios on a tiny electronic drumkit like the Roland TD-02KV? You sure can! 🤠
Just hook up the midi output to your computer / DAW software, and fire up Toontracks EZD3 as we did for this little demo! Its "bigger brother" Superior Drummer 3 will offer even more flexible midi mapping & kit editing features, as well as even more samples /sounds to choose from.
If you are not sure how do set up midi triggering with your electronic drums, check out our little tutorial over here, which sheds some light on the procedure:

This man never fails me to watch his drumming performances, clean as always. He inspires me to get my drumkit and play random stuff, thanks for being inspiration!
Thank you so much for your kind feedback, that's great to hear! 😃
impressive. ordered the TD-02KV kit earlier today. been playing piano since i was a kid, will be fun to learn percussion as well. :3
Sounds awesome 😊
Great video and fantastic performance! Question. Is there a way to configure EZ Drummer 3 to see both pedals as kick for double bass? Thank you in advance!
Top Demo as always Ralf Ole Chap. Shiny Ticker too 🙂
🤗
Excellent
Mad how far even "top end" module sounds are behind even €150 software
Hey Charlie, yes absolutely. Though keep in mind, you still need a great triggering module before the sounds, that's where Roland is absolutely unmatched (imo). Kind regards!
Yeah but when you consider that EZDrummer libraries are based on Superior Drummer 3, you start to see why... I personally trigger SD3 with 2 modules 17piece E kit.
Disagree. TD 27 and TD 50 can produce better sounds if you know how to dial it right
@@sherifgendy4974 I'm yet to see anybody that does, then.
@Charlie Lord let me share a link of a recording from built in sounds from the module
Hello, is it possible to configure the hi-hat with all its dynamic range in Superior Drummer using this drum kit? thank and Congrat for your youtube channels and as drummer
I love how Roland kits last forever and also are almost plug and play with Toontracks. Great playing as always
Thank you Ceci!

Just wow! Sounds better than almost every other e drum.. No i know that i dont need a flagship e drum set!
It sounds perfect. What kind of processing does ot jave ? Did you import separate wav tracks for each kit piece ? Any effects on daw ?
Great video! I can’t see a preset for the Roland TD-02KV in EZ Drummer 3, what preset were you using?
Dude, you can make anything sound good. I challenge you to make a drumset from things you find at a hardware store! I know you could do it and make it sound GREAT! :D
😀 haha, thank you so much Tony, I accept! That sounds like a lot of fun actually, but I'm so limited on time currently (two small kids, studio, drum-tec & other company jobs), that it'll take some time until I'll have a chance to execute the "Hardware Store Challenge"... Feel free to subscribe to my channel digitaldrumming meanwhile, that's the place where the fun stuff will be going down eventually!

@@drumtecTV Oh, you bet I will be subscribing, waiting and watching! Good luck, and have fun!! WE will be waiting for you! :D Drum on!
@@neurocosm Thanks Tony, same to you! 😃
Amazing drumming! I have ezdrummer 3 but I can’t get a good EQ into my headset playing live. Do you run the software through a DAW to EQ it better or does your EQ come from the basic toon track presets?
For this sound demo, there is no further mixing/editing on the stock EZD3 sounds. Kind regards!
Any chance you'd do this with Alexis nitro?
Hey there, sick demo! Question: EZ Drummer 3 doesn't have an option for the TD-02 module under the edrum presets... did you guys have to do a good amount of tweaking to get the kit to work well with the plugin? I have the TD-07 and I'm having a similar issue where there is no preset for my module. Just trying to figure out how to get the best results with what I have. Thanks!
I would also be interested to know the answer to this
Which DAW do you guys recommend for Roland TD1-DMK? I find some free VSTs as Ezdrummer and Superior Drummer are a little expensive for me, but i dont know which DAW to use for Windows.
Is there a setup video? What is the interface computer you are using and would it work live or too much latency? how about superior drummer3, same equipment?

Kind regards!
How about cross stick ?
Is there any way to program the Hi Hat pedal to act as a 2nd Kick on this kit?
Yes. You can send any sample to any footswitch. Each electronic kit or sample pad will have its unique learning curve in order to achieve it, but the possibilities are endless.
I'm about to purchase these drums. You think these are better than the Alesis Nitro in terms of the sounds in the module? I'll mostly use EZDrummer, but if I want to use the kit without computer I'd like at least one realistic sounding kit.
You can find all onboard kits of the TD-02KV over here:

Roland triggering / playability is way better than on the Alesis. Only thing I'd swap out right from the beginning would be the BD controller pedal and replace it with a bd pad & a "real" foot pedal :) makes it a little louder, yet much easier & more realistic to play.
You might get in touch through experts@drum-tec.de for further assistance and/or an individual quote on any custom kit configuration if you like. Kind regards!
@@drumtecTV My dude, you make every drumset and kit sound amazing. Thanks for the input, just confirmed my order and will consider getting the BD pad after trying the one that comes by default. Congrats on your drumming skills! 🔥
@@oblikua Thanks man, and enjoy your new kit! :)
@@drumtecTV Just out of curiosity, what setting did you use on the EDrum section of EzDrummer? In the Roland menu there is no TD-02 and the other TDs always give me an open hihat, even when pressing down on the pedal. On the default setting the hihats work properly, but the cymbal zones seem to be switched around, the hard hits are on the center and the softer are on the rim. Not a big problem, but just wondering 😅
@@oblikua As far as I remember, I used a TD-01 or TD-07 preset and it worked pretty much out of the box? KInd regards!
Finger drumming is fun and all, but I wonder what kit will work good for a 'midi software controller'. Something dynamic. Anyone here have suggestions below 600 bucks??
New Sub 🔔👍
Is there any delay with the sounds ?
Hey Jackie, not if your cpu / audio driver / interface setup allows low latency monitoring. Then you can just use it playing live, as I did for the demo.
Feel free to get in touch through experts@drum-tec.de for further assistance. Kind regards!
How is this done? I have a td-20
Hey David, you hook up the midi output of your sound module to your computer basically, and trigger sounds from EZD either in standalone mode or as a plugin inside of your DAW software (f.e. Logic / Cubase / ProTools etc).
You can check out this basic tutorial if you like:
ua-cam.com/video/nPOYxyzc4zs/v-deo.html
Kind regards!
@@ianmcnamee1652 Hey Ian, you can just use the TD-50X USB midi output and monitor through the RME as your audio interface, setting buffer sizes as low as possible in EZD/your DAW software for low latency.
Kind regards!
No letancy? How comes
