Hey. I'll be turning 40 in November and decided that veganism is going to be my birthday present to myself. However, I also want to be able to cook my children meals that they will enjoy as well. Maybe think about doing some video's on kid-friendly vegan dishes. I love your channel. Thanks so much!
Nathan Maroney really the only non kid friendly food is anything that’s too spicy or will choke them. Keep offering it until they eat exactly what you do
My twins have been vegan since they were 3. I just tone done spice, more pasta or rice and veggies they enjoy like brocolli peas corn carrots sweet potato.
Thanks for showing that good, healthy food isn't so expensive. We just weren't taught the right stuff when I was growing up. Looking forward to more. I made black bean hummus yesterday. It's so much better than store bought.
Date sugar, Coconut sugar, doesn't really matter, they're both sugar, just a different taste. Better off with raw honey, or Xylitol as your sweetener. Bananas can get mushy fast if cooked too much. Better off using plantains. Cubans down here in Miami use green plantains to fry with. You can also use cactus.
Made the Pittas for lunch today, absolutely delicious. I've been vegetarian for over a year now and I've always really been struggling to have a diet that's higher in fibre, and just end up eating crap because i get hungry. the recipes in this video are sure to help with filling me up at meal times!
I love couscous with vegetables It is the traditional dish of the "Berber" Kabyle region❤️ You can even make couscous with a mixture of peanuts, almonds, cashews ... With raisins and accompanied with curdled milk, it is a real delight. It's good, it's healthy💪❤️
I loved your first low budget meal prep for weight loss and made it several times, already. Definitely will try this one, too. Thank you very much! These meal preps make live a lot easier.
I have been using your recipes from the recipes for happiness and everything I’ve made has been DILICIOUS and ridiculously easy. I love how you guys aren’t scared to use oil or salt or fats, just healthy nutritious but really tasty food. Super accessible for family’s too!
These meals look absolutely delicious! I have to try them out. I’d love to see more packed lunch recipes and meal preps. This channel is so amazing, helpful and gives great and simple ideas for an ethical lifestyle💗💗💗
the aqua faba (boiling water of the chickpeas) is a wonderful emulsifier for the hommus. It ,makes it incredibly creamy and intensifies the flavour ;) Thanks for a lovely video
Love the simplicity of your meals! Yes, I did notice the red kidney beans as you were dishing it up...😂😂😻 I guess this just makes us all think outside the box and add whatever beans you choose on the day ...the thing I got out of this one the most was the small tin of coconut milk! Love that idea! Btw...have you ever eaten a pita after 3 days? Not sure how these would go? I pre pack 6 days of food for hubby as he travels away in a truck 6 days and home for 3 ....so I’m always looking for great prepping meals! Yours are fantastic! Thank you 🙏
Well done for adding cumin in the hummus, as it should be done traditionally!! I know this is an old video so if uv ventured into the Lebanese cuisine in the last year you'll find there are so many delicious vegan options to try recreating 😍
I bought my fave roasted red pepper hummus, rest as outlined and oh my that sandwich is delicious. No small pitas to be found so had to halve regular size one. It's messy but too tasty to care.
Congratulations from Italy 🇮🇹 my name's elena and I like cooking new recipes. for me "the happy pear" is synonymous with family and harmony. I really like your originality and complicity between brothers. I often can't understand all the ingredients of your recipes, where can I find youtube recipes? 🥗 Thank you a greeting from my Italian youtube channel 🤩 Elena
Happy Pear Indian Curry 1 bunch scallions diced on bias ½ thumb sized ginger ½ a chili 2 diced red peppers 1 pinch of salt Broccoli stalk finely diced 2 cups broccoli florets 2 tbsp curry powder 3 tbsp coconut cream 400 ml vegetable stock (add broccoli at end) Taste for seasoning Splash of tamari Squeeze of lemon or lime (or tiny splash of vinegar) Hummus 1 can chickpeas 2 tbsp tahini 2 cloves garlic 1 tsp coarse salt flakes Juice of 1 lemon 1 tbsp of cumin (depending on taste) Add water as required
@@elmhaven the first recipe was just like the recipe a couple of days ago, except he added coconut milk and broth. That recipe called for beans. That previous recipe he used chick peas but black beans for this recipe.
Lovely meal plan! I wonder about the Broccoli straight in the freezer? Wouldn't the enzymes continue to break down without blanching? I believe it would have to be blanched and quick chilled then straight in the freezer.
The point is to eat sugar early in the day so you don't crave it in the afternoon or evening when you're less active. But eat whatever works for you. I also don't like sweet breakfasts.
I cant wait to try this I eat plant based but I'm a new vegan I have yet to try and cook without oil I'm excited to learn more and prep healthy and tasty meals 🙂
Cidalia Martins I’m the same, it’s all about the savoury breakfast. I always tend to go for tofu scramble on toast, or Steve’s banger beans with baked potato. Absolutely gorgeous!
This all looks so amazing You have a subscribe from me. I’m 380 and haven’t been able to find a method of eating that hasn’t been either abundant, or tasty. And I’m excited to try these. Thank you for doing what you do. You have a sub from me, and I can’t wait to update
Captains log: Star date 369, we found broccoli on the planet Mars, contrary to previous belief, this planet is frozen. Side note... The broccoli was good and met Spoks approval. 🖖
I love curry but I have to cook it outside in our grill because my house will smell like curry for days lol I also tend to only put a tiny bit of curry powder because of how strong it is. I love the caramelized banana for the oatmeal. Definitely going to try that this week!
i cant believe how cheap vegetables are where you live. That head of Broccoli would have been several dollars where i live. Junk food and meats are cheaper then fresh Veg and fruit, it's so frustrating. I love the curry recipe, I cant wait to make that myself!
When finished meal prepping any sort of food and even these dishes, should I store them in fridge or freezer to best conserve them for the whole week? I recently started meal prepping and I did rice with veggies for a week, and it just looked like it went bad and didn't have that fresh taste! Someone please help me and give advice. Thank you!
Hookz TV I bought bento boxes that were gauranteed freezer safe, so I could freeze some meals for the days when I have migraines and can’t cook. I’d probably say to try that. Obviously you can’t freeze salads in most cases, but anything cooked is going to last for months in the freezer.

Their cook books are great!
you could do anything vegan, chilly con carne, lasagna... they dont need to know you are using vegan mince.
If you go to the Happy Pear’s Channel page and check out their playlists, they have one called “Our Kids Love!” It’s got some great stuff on it.
My twins have been vegan since they were 3. I just tone done spice, more pasta or rice and veggies they enjoy like brocolli peas corn carrots sweet potato.
For a super low fat version of curry I usually use the coconut flavoured soymilk from Alpro and use a little bit of cornstarch to thicken it. :)
You can also use some coconut yoghurt instead
Great tip!
Great idea thanks 😊
Seriously since I found UA-cam a year ago!!!! I feel super empowered
I am loving the oil free cooking, shows people that delicious food can be made without adding oil to the sauteing of vegetables.
You are so right!
coconut is a good fat no need oil
Thanks for showing that good, healthy food isn't so expensive. We just weren't taught the right stuff when I was growing up. Looking forward to more. I made black bean hummus yesterday. It's so much better than store bought.
That caramelized banana is soooo calling my name!!! I am going to give it a try with date sugar!
Use plantain its better. Philippines famous snack
Who brings sugar to a date 🤣

I did the Happy heart course... Gained 6kg!!! The spelt bread was just soo delicious
If you add some of the aquafaba from the chickpeas (the liquid in the can) to the hummus, it make it creamy. Love this meal prep! My kind of food!
These meals look absolutely delicious! I have to try them out. I’d love to see more packed lunch recipes and meal preps. This channel is so amazing, helpful and gives great and simple ideas for an ethical lifestyle💗💗💗
This man measures food the way I measure food and it makes me so happy.
Love this episode! Love how he explains why he uses certain ingredients that’s awesome!

Hello! Love these videos!! 😊
Any chance you could link the meal prep containers? Or possibly share the brand name? Thanks!
When did the Kidney-beans end up on the pan? ;-)
My question also.
I thought that too!
@@elmhaven the first recipe was just like the recipe a couple of days ago, except he added coconut milk and broth. That recipe called for beans. That previous recipe he used chick peas but black beans for this recipe.
At 8:25 there are definitely kidney beans in that lunch bowl so I'd like to know when they were added too.
Mischief managed.
Thank you!! This is definitely going to help me on my journey to becoming vegan. 👌🏾♥️
Does all of this survive in the fridge for 3-4 days? ✨
Is there a recipe list for this please? 😍 love the channel
Lovely meal plan! I wonder about the Broccoli straight in the freezer? Wouldn't the enzymes continue to break down without blanching? I believe it would have to be blanched and quick chilled then straight in the freezer.
I was looking for beginner vegan plus food prep so that there are easy meals to grab from the freezer. Thankyou for the curry recipe food prep !
I was just on your website to see more about the course and I've noticed the video on the main page has no sound 🙈
I love the simplicity of these meals! Definitely will be making them, thanks so much 👌🏽

Wow, I just discovered your channel. New favourite.
Your channel is one of my new faves... I discovered you guys through Entertaining with Beth...
Oatmeal with natural organic bananas and a fuji apple and instead of water I Use original organic almond milk 😊
The less ripe bananas are better for diabetics. Love your recipes.
WOW I'm amazed, you are a great chef
This is so helpful, especially for beginners. Thank you so much! Liked and subscribed!
Is it wrong to want the curry for breakfast instead of the oats?
The Vegan Hippie ..nope...I love curry for breakfast, especially cold.
The point is to eat sugar early in the day so you don't crave it in the afternoon or evening when you're less active. But eat whatever works for you. I also don't like sweet breakfasts.
If it’s good enough for Dave Lister why not 😂
Not at all.
I feel the same lol
Love this channel! Great job!
All of this food looks soooo amazing!! Thank you for the video!
Hullo are the porridge dishes to be eaten cold? I'm pretty sure oats can't be reheated. Hugs from the Scottish Highlands💕😘
I always cook 3 days worth of oatmeal ( porridge) and warm it in the microwave the next time! Warms beautifully !
I cant wait to try this I eat plant based but I'm a new vegan I have yet to try and cook without oil I'm excited to learn more and prep healthy and tasty meals 🙂

I’m an oddball and am never in the mood for oatmeal for breakfast. Nay to smoothies or anything else sweet. Oatmeal for lunch? Sure!
Cidalia Martins I’m the same, it’s all about the savoury breakfast. I always tend to go for tofu scramble on toast, or Steve’s banger beans with baked potato. Absolutely gorgeous!
I just LOVE your channel! I laughed so hard when you were talking with your mouth full of broccoli! Thanks for that!

How's it going now?
That fridge is cool so is the spice rack
I think the broccoli would be good for longer if you'd blanch it before freezing, just for people who want it to keep good for even longer
This is absolutely brilliant!
New to the channel. I love these guys! I will be trying the recipes ;)
Hi guys! Love your videos💙 how much is your course in American dollars? I would really love to try it! Blessings from Miami, Florida 🥰

Loved your video. Thank you.
Love the orange fridg!!!
Got any recipes for smoothies?
Not sure what the porridge would taste like the next day, be best made fresh on the day
Yum yum, thanks for the video
All looks great! But surely pre-made porridge won't last a week? It would get all dry and stodgy, no?
Fantastic video, thanks!
Gm and thank u so much I shall try it
Thanks Elizabeth 🙏🏻🤗💚
