    Please do not count macros or calories (unless you need to for specific health reasons). The measurements and macros in this video are just for your information and to show you that you can get protein on a vegan diet. Life is more than calculating macros, and after years of not doing it, adding it up for this video was exhausting haha. Eat what feels good for you and what makes you happy!

    But where do you get your protein? I'm answering that question in today's recipe video! Each recipe is linked in the description so check it out! ALSO this video is not to tell you that you should be counting the amount of protein you're eating, or measuring anything out, this was purely done for your information to show how much protein you CAN get from plants. ALSO before I receive another comment about soy being too high in estrogen for men IT IS A MYTH! Soy has PHYTOestrogens which is different from estrogen and affects us differently (we aren’t plants). You should be more concerned with the actual estrogen in animal products, because manboobs are much more likely to be a result of overeating diary than soy. freefromharm.org/health-nutrition/vegan-doctor-addresses-soy-myths-and-misinformation/

      @Aum Kaigziabiher You'd get around 120g of protein if you're eating 2700 kcal of this. Which might not be enough and would need help from a powder or something.

    • @nlol2863
      @nlol2863 3 роки тому +13

      @@NervylHraje don’t forget there’s many ways of getting protein on this diet. For example seitan has 370 calories and 70 grams of protein. You could also experiment with some Indian dal dishes and get some lean protein from that. A cup of urad dal for example is 24 grams of protein for 341 calories which isn’t bad. There’s all kinds of beans and legumes and good dishes to eat you really just have to look into it to see a lot of them. I wouldn’t say it’s hard at all to lose weight as a vegan while keeping your health since it’s literally just calories in calories out and the vegan options typically have more nutrients on average besides b12 which would have to be supplemented or eaten in a fortified food.

      Spaide man I’m sorry but phytoestrogens aren’t uptaken in the way animal based ones are. Tofu actually decreases a woman’s risk of breast cancer. Dairy or cheese products cause cancer however, both through the hormones naturally produced and artificially given to the cows and through a fermentation process to coagulate the cheese. Tofu can be made instantly, using fresh soy milk and gypsum, neither of which has been noted to cause any ill side effects.

    Hello! Just to point out animals get protein from plants because they naturally have a different kind of intestinal flora (bacteria) and ruminate particularly have also anatomical differences (4 stomachs) that allow them to get more nutrients from plans: humans cannot do that. There is still plenty of plant protein that can be used and digested by humans; just your argument with the animals (herbivores) had a bit of a flaw... thanks for your videos!!!

      If you cut out some of the fat and carbs ie eat less bread and avocado etc you can bring the calorie count down considerably if that's what you're worried about. Eg just take out the oats recipe, or in the chilli add more soy protein and less beans for higher protein and lower carbs. For the sandwich, make it a tofu salad without the bread and add more low calorie veggies, or add less avocado to eat meal. Small cuts will add up very quickly.

    I love a lot of the points you made in your intro, especially about not micro-managing every aspect of your nutrition. Problem is, the way I’m used to eating is not leading to health, or a high quality of life. I’m trying to improve my diet and lose A LOT of weight, without adding more meat (I do not follow a plant-based diet, but am hoping to incorporate more plant-focused meals.) I know this can be done, my aunt is totally plant-based and has lost excess weight (she was much smaller than me to begin with) and has improved her cholesterol a great deal. I haven’t talked to her personally about what she eats, everything I know I’ve gotten secondhand. But my point is, in my efforts to make improvements, I’m finding that I have very little energy, strength, and recoverability from life’s little setbacks. I know I’m eating plenty of food, and I’m eating more variety than ever. But I’m struggling. I’m hungry a lot, but have little desire to eat MORE food, so I’ve been wondering about protein. Am I getting enough to support my body and help with satiety and weight loss?
    I will keep these recipes in mind, but it’s difficult coming from a standard American diet to lots of tofu and legumes. Tofu is almost completely foreign to me. I’ve tasted bits here and there, and not been a huge fan. Never prepared it myself. Beans….I just don’t love them. But I’m trying. I want change. But maybe this will give you a little insight into why some people question how you can get enough protein. It can definitely be done, it’s all just a little foreign.

      Have you spoken with a nutritionist? It can be really worthwhile to go through your own personal setbacks and struggles and get a personalised food plan. Protein may be the issue here. Having a high protein goal each day can really help with satiety. Things like protein powder (I use form nutrition), protein bars, and lots of tofu will really help to keep you full and the calories low. Hope this helps!

    Soya mince has a tendency to go mushy though so I would recommend frying that off first with the onions and veg rather than adding it later if you don’t like the mushy texture like me z

People who say these meals are too rich as far as callories are concerned are wrong. You do not have to eat almost 200 grams of protein a day. 1 gram per kilo of your weight is enough for us. And if you are a body builder and need so much proteins, 3000 callories a day are perfect if your training is intense. So be reasonable, eat healthy and stay away from meat ;)

    Worcestershire generally contains Anchovies.

    Also, what are you thoughts on this and have you researched it:
    "Animal protein sources, such as meat, fish, poultry, eggs and dairy, are similar to the protein found in your body.
    These are considered to be complete sources of protein because they contain all of the essential amino acids that your body needs to function effectively.
    On the contrary, plant protein sources, such as beans, lentils and nuts are considered to be incomplete, as they lack one or more of the essential amino acids that your body needs (1).
    Some sources report soy protein as complete. However, two essential amino acids are only found in small amounts in soy, so it isn't comparable to animal protein (2)."
