Season 1, Episode 10 "Mr Monk Takes a Vacation": While on vacation at a resort, Benjy claims he witnessed a murder. Monk believes him, but with no body and the cleanest crime scene Monk has ever seen, it's going to be hard to convince everybody else.

Monk Synopsis: Adrian Monk (Emmy®-winner Tony Shalhoub) was once a rising star with the San Francisco Police Department, legendary for using unconventional means to solve the department's most baffling cases. But after the tragic and still-unsolved murder of his wife, Trudy, the devastated Monk becomes obsessive-compulsive. His psychological disorder has caused him to develop an abnormal fear of virtually everything: germs, heights, crowds... even milk. Monk's condition costs him his job, but he's back as a police consultant despite the unique challenges he encounters in his everyday life. These challenges lead Monk to hire a personal nurse, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), who is always there to offer her assistance, even with the simplest of tasks (like organizing his sock drawer). Her less-than-subtle prodding keeps the "defective detective" on track in his investigations, as well as in his efforts to convince Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) to allow him to return to the force.

@@MikeMJPMUNCHthe maids only speak Spanish, and Monk takes pleasure in letting the killers know how they messed up, so he explained it to them without using words

9:52 what i loved about this was that Monk believed Benji from the jump. Despite how it looked crazy even to his mom, Monk always stuck by him and that look said to me “you were right, they’re the guys”
Definitely one of the most satisfying endings to any Monk episode - Benji’s vindication!
This was one of the first episodes of “Monk” I remember, so it always has a special place in my heart.😊❤ It definitely has a very memorable wrap up and having those Monk and Benji moments is sweet.😊💗

I really liked the chief of the hotel's security (I think that was her position). She was such a fan of Monk, and she so wanted to solve crimes, so funny
Yes, Miss Bronwyn is great and she could be a great partner for him
"i'd stay there" is all you need to hear from monk to know the room is suspicious, only time a hotel is that clean is if bodies be dropping
I really liked the Bronwin character. It would have been great for her to reappear.

Honestly one of the best endings. It takes something so simple and stretches it out into something more beautiful and exciting. Brilliant.

One of my favorite episodes as a kid, and definitely one of the best Monk episodes. They sure don't make em like this anymore.

How cool is it to literally solve a case without saying a single word?? Just a picture and two hand gestures, with the guilty perpetrators standing right there, angry and dejected because he was literally in the car and driving away..😂 Awesome episode ending that reminded me of the ending of "The Taking Of Pelham 1-2-3" (the original). Walter Matthau's character was in the flat of one perpetrators who had gotten away. The dude was a former train driver for the underground, and all throughout the hostage situation, he kept sneezing because he had a cold. Just as Matthau's character (Lt. Zachary Garber) was leaving the guy's place, literally in the hallway with the door closed, the guy sneezed **one last time**, and the door reopens and Garber's head pokes back into the apartment, and with a deadpan expression that said it all--"Busted", without a single word spoken!!!

I never understood how the luggage area didn't have the smell of death filling it with the dead body just in the box out in the open.
It was wrapped in plastic.

Yeah, but if lye were used on the body. It would've been soup. Not the whole body wrapped in plastic. And despite being wrapped, the fluids would still leak out. It isn't foolproof.
It likely hadn’t been there for an incredibly long time either, given they kept having to move the body.

The way Tony (the hotel manager) said "really?" to someone tryna kill Bronwen made him so suspect which I s'pose was the point but still...
Well it was obvious they didn't like each other. It seemed like sarcasm to me.

I can say one thing is that those 4 cleaning ladies in that Monk episode can't beat Monk they can't out smart him either, because they try to beat and out smart Mr Monk and sadly for them it didn't work on Monk it came close but it wasn't close enough, but hey in end good guys always wins :)
It’s actually kind of sad that they didn’t try to bring an adult Benji and Julie into the movie and help them out because they could relate to him trying to do good by his technical daughter. Benji has his bio dad n randy, who might try too hard lol. And now julie n her new father figure in her life
They would have been great help by telling him what they told their step dads

The funniest part of this episode which they didnt show was the house detective and her flashlight that detects Luminol. A chemical that lights up under infra red if blood or semen is present but invisible. So she has this light and is looking around then has Monk hold it for her while she examines something. The light moved over to her face and the side of her mouth lit up.

That was a great detail to include in the monk movie and why Sharona didn't show up
No child (or adult) always tells the truth (Yes, I know, there's conditions people can have...), but if you can't tell when a child who is frequently in your life is desperately trying to tell you a truth, there's work to be done.

At 8:27, as the car is braking, a bit of white stuff falls down to the ground from under the right rear of the vehicle, just above the end of the exhaust pipe.
Is that a natural thing to happen with a car that's in good shape?
Look on the hotel manager face and the maids especially the maids from arrogant to sadness . Life sentence for murder , conspiracy and cover up not to mention stealing business information.

This is why I could never warm to Sharona. Her son and detective boss are certain there's been a murder but she's more concerned with having a good time. Probably helps I watched the Natalie episodes first.

I love this ep, but seriously, that body would have **smelled** something awful, and the suitcase wouldn't have hidden/contained it
If they could hide the body and clean the crime scenes so efficiently, they could cover the smell.
